The revolution devours its children... But for the people of this small city near Yaezu Port, it wouldn't be the revolution that did so. The dust had settled weeks ago, and tonight was quiet for once, moonlit skies above, a soothing early autumn breeze, as though the last days of summer had come bearing a parting gift... But this night promised no tranquility.

In the wake of the revolution, many sympathizers of the old regime scurried to safety, carrying more of their belongings than they possibly could... But one of them carried a particularly delicate posession, one that hid a calamity that could potentially devour not just this city, but all of Joya... Just how many hears had it been since the humans had locked him in that god forsaken box?! Kurama was no friend to mortals, especially humans, but his hatred for them didn't quite compare to the grudge he felt against the Oda Shogunate. Time and time again, there was something about the people in that Government that made them even more insufferably entitled than even normal mortals. Inside his sealing container, he had no idea what was happening outside. No doubt, the scurrying reactionary either dropped the box, or had it stolen for him by an eager revolutionary in search of plunder... Neither of the two would survive the eruption of magic power that shot forth towards the sky, practically incinerating anything in the way, leaving a crater and a cloud of smoke in its wake:

"ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR!!!"

Finally, freedom!! As that loud, bellowing sound pierced the quietude of the night, houses shook down to their very foundations, glass and pottery shattering into nothing but dust. That mighty roar blew away the smoke, revealing the towering, imposing figure of a Nine Tailed Fox: Kurama, one of the oldest of his kind. The revolution had destroyed the peaceful lives of his captors, and in the chaos, the box that imprisioned him had been taken as plunder. The one who took had no idea what it contained, nor did they take the necessary precautions. And now, that clumsiness had unleashed the catastrophe inside, miles away from the Capital of Joya where it had been taken from.

The mighty Kitsune channeled its magic power in front of his mouth, and unleashed a devastating blast of magic inn all directions, leveling another city block. People screamed and ran for their lives, hoping to find safety in some of the shelters left over from the war... But they would find none, lest someone come to their rescue.

Personality: Kurama is confident and prideful of his power, arrogant even. He dislikes being aided, but at the same time he's both honorable and vindictive, and will strive to return all debts owed, good or bad. Throughout the centuries, Kurama has been consistently sought out for his endless pool of Mana, and being constantly chained, harnessed and imprisoned lead to him hating mortals, humans in particular. When freed, he'll typically express his vengeful fury in wild, destructive rampages before returning to the wilderness. Nonetheless, he is capable of begrudgingly respecting the rare few mortals who earn it. He'll particularly appreciate a mortal who shares his disdain for slavery and imprisonment of others, and could even be willing to aid them.

Physiology: Kurama is utterly massive. Most Kitsune are no larger than the average fox, but as the oldest in existence, he has grown to truly gargantuan proportions. He's a large fox with vibrant orange fur and ruby red eyes with slitted pupils, and he constantly has a bored or annoyed scowl on his face. The colossal amount of magic power accumulated is responsible for this change, and when it's removed from him, his size diminshes. This magic power is sentient and posesses a portion of his consciousness. It's said that in ancient times, Kurama used to be much larger, but more than half of his power has been taken from him throughout the ages. It's said that Kurama has the ability to transform into a humanoid frame and hide his power, but between his pride and hatred of mortals, he despises this ability and will never use it, effectively abandoning one of his species' most well known form of trickery.

Perks:
  • Violent Mana: When dealing damage with spells or physical attacks, Kurama burns the enemy's Mana equivalent to the rank of damage dealt. This deals additional magic damage to that enemy equivalent to half of the damage dealt.
  • Font of Magic: As a well of pure, dense mana, Kurama has a minor resistance to Magical Damage.
  • Pure Energy: Kurama lacks any elemental affinity, as such, he has a Minor Resistance to Arcane.
  • Unmatched Vitality: Kurama will quickly recover from wounds, and his limbs cannot be hindered or cut off. This does only affects his endurance but not his total Health Pool. He will still be defeated after taking enough damage.

    Effect: Kurama lets out a bellowing roar, flaring out its mana high into the sky and deep beneath the earth. As their mana flares out, it darkens the skies and triggers a devastating thunderstorm with gale winds and tornadoes, while making the earth quake beneath his feet. This deals 2S rank damage to all enemies in the topic, which applies instantly and cannot be dodged. If it hits armor, it deals the same damage to the target underneath it. Additionally, it debuffs the speed and strength of everyone else by 120 for 2 posts.


Regulations


  • Kurama appears in Yaezu Port in Joya, and will be rampaging across a nearby city. In the chaos of the revolution, he has been set free from his previous captor and now aims to exact vengeance for his imprisonment.

  • Kurama is resistant to Magical Damage as well as Arcane element.

  • Kurama's health is not recovered when he defeats a party.

  • Once Kurama is defeated, he will fade away into a vast puddle of Mana. Either impressed by his worthy foe or wishing to curse them for their deed, he will bond with that person and become usable as a Beast Soul Take Over magic.

  • The battle will begin when 5 people have entered the topic.

  • The fifth person to enter the topic must roll a D100 to determine which attack Kurama will use. They should not wait for the NPC to reply.

  • Every round, the last player in the rotation should roll D100 to determine Kurama's next attack.

  • Users may not attack Kurama in their entry post.

  • Each user can produce a maximum amount of 2x S-rank damage per turn of theirs in total, disabling the ability to spam everything in a single post. Exceeding more than 2x S-rank damage in your turn simply results into Astares not receiving damage from the remainder of it.

  • There's a 48 hour post timer per post. If a player is skipped, they may rejoin in the next round. If the entire team is skipped, it will be considered a loss for the team.

  • Should the user have a race that's incompatible with the Beast Soul Magic, they will be reverted back to a Base Race of their choice (Human, Elf, Half-Elf, Dwarf). Any other incompatible magics or pieces of equipment may be resold. Beast Soul: Kurama, however, will have a resale value of 0 if obtained from this event.

  • When the user has lost, they may not attempt to battle Kurama again for 2 weeks.

  • 2,000,000J
  • 50,000 Experience
  • 1000 Fame or Infamy
  • 500 Mana
  • 20 Attributes
  • Defeated players may claim half of this total reward. Should a defeated player later rejoin a party and defeat Kurama, they will the recieve the other half for the total amount.


Bonus Victory Reward:
  • Curse of Kurama: When Kurama is defeated, all the players who helped slay him must roll a D100. The one who rolls highest will be given Beast Soul: Kurama the Nine Tailed Fox. This will replace their current magic instantly and cannot be refused. The nature of this act can be freely roleplayed, and will depend on the winner's interaction with Kurama. They may have earned his cooperation as someone who shares some of his ideals or has proved themselves worthy, or this deed may be a curse, a grudge by the vengeful fox against his killer upon which he will attempt to destroy the user from within.
    • Only a maximum of five players may roll.
    • Players may opt out of this reward, in which case, only those interested in the magic will roll.
    • However, at least one player must receive the magic. If none volunteer, then all 5 players must roll for the magic.

Takaokitsu Mikoto was in Joya, his home, attempting to assist in rebuilding his nation after such as savage civil war before he felt the ground begin to shake and then the roar hit him like a brick wall, knocking him to the floor. As he stared up at the massive fox, a Kitsune specifically, with vibrant orange fur and ruby red eyes with slitted pupils as it began it's rampage through the city. It was massive in size, large enough to tower over even the tallest buildings still standing in Joya at this time.

This was a god like being, an ancient and powerful monster of old, and Takao could feel that as he stared up at it in awe and fear. He began to take a step backwards, planning on running but he knew that would not be the noble thing to do in this case. It would be to go in there and try and help as many people as he could. Taking a deep breath and steeling himself, he ran towards the monster as he would attempt to go help those in need and maybe attempt to fight this thing if it was required.

Ayaka couldn't have imagined she would return to Joya so soon. She had fled her home, her family, and the life that had been laid out for her, vowing not to return until she had become strong enough to prove she was more than a mere prize to be wedded off. But destiny had a different plan for her, one that led her to an unexpected predicament she had never foreseen.

Even before setting foot on the shoreline, she had glimpsed the monstrous threat that loomed over Joya. She had ample opportunity to retreat, to flee from the impending danger, but instead, she seized control of the vessel that had brought her there and steered it into Yeazu Port.

Her visage concealed beneath a shroud of black, Ayaka hoped to evade recognition by anyone who might still know her. However, the events unfolding around her rendered her anonymity irrelevant. The deafening roar of the creature reverberated through the air, nearly capsizing her boat. Despite the chaos, Ayaka managed to make her way ashore.

People scattered in all directions, their cries and tears mingling with the frantic efforts of those brave souls who dared to confront the behemoth. Ayaka, though tempted to flee like so many others, couldn't bring herself to abandon Joya, the place she held dear as her home. She was resolved to defend it, no matter the cost.

How dare they arrive when uninvited. She had her scythe against her shoulder as she held it into place. Her womanly and motherly yet tall physique towered ten feet tall as she was in her demigod height. Mishiko's black hues mirrored the beast as she heard a dreadful sigh. "To think my God version created such a creature," Ohta spoke and rolled his eyes. "I mean, you created yourself and you still have that other half that is missing," Mishiko replied to him in a soothing, icy tone. No one was going to ruin her Country without invitation, definitely not one of her husband's creations that were sealed due to their failure to control themselves. Her black hair was caressed to the side by the wind as she walked forward to see that there were already people there. The Shogun wasn't afraid to fight, she welcomed it even if things became dire for those around her.

Her eyes then slowly corner forward to see that her son was here, one of them. She didn't say a thing to them though as people were around, keeping her emotions in check. Mishiko knew that this would be a test for her son. With each sway of her hips in her black and white Shinigami attire, she finally stopped when in a comfortable distance of her, the others, and the damn Fox as Ohta stood by her side in his humanoid form, carrying her stuff and here to assist because it was his damn creation anyways, damn Inari. The Goddess of Death, souls, and war was ready for this fight, no matter what Inari, who was Ohta's real self, had brought onto Joya on accident.

Ikanbi landed gracefully behind the others but was massively, horribly unprepared for this fight. Her eyes widened at the size of the beast. "Hooooly, shiiiit." She let out before she moved gracefully to the side of a piece of rubble that flew past. She jumped, and leaped through the air to land a little further up. "Hmm, this could be bad." She said to the others, then reached into her garments and withdrew her feline companion from her ass sack, then pulled out her mana car, and her wyvern, and proceeded to throw each of these things one at a time at the great Kyuubi. "Come and get me you big furry bastard!" She taunted and teased, then, after realizing she wasn't the least bit succesful in throwing her mana bike, decided to hop on to it and began riding through the debris, doing her best to avoid wrecking into anything.

Kurama looked down at the small insignficant ants that were screaming in pain and fear. Music to his ears, as he stared out over city. This city did seem like it was oddly in ruin, as if another one of his siblings had appeared and ran through this place as well. That really didn't matter much to the Nine Tailed Fox, given that he would leave this place a crater in the ground in revenge for what humanity has done to him. That is when he noticed something, a smell from long ago, and with a deep breath to gather as much of that scent as possible he realized what it is. The being that created him, that released him into this place and the one who first caused his suffering. Kurama swung his massive head in the direction of where the smell was coming from, his eyes eventually focusing on the source of the smell. A women? Kurama knew that his creator was a male, so why did this women smell like him?

No matter. Kurama wanted to finish off that problem very quickly, as he moved to get as close as he needed to for his move to Mishiko. With mouth wide, Kurama began to create a large ball of mana, larger then a building, before slamming his jaws shut around it and swallowing it. With a deep breath, and a deafening roar, a massive cone of rainbow colors and shapes sprayed out of his mouth, aiming directly the Demi-God Mishiko. The cone was luckily pointed downwards, limiting the amount of damage it could do due to Kurama's high up position above the city skyline, so it did not have the chance to widen the 32 meters it could have nor the 50 meter range, but it still managed to reach 15 meters wide, Mishiko being directly in the center of that cone, before it slammed into the ground where Mishiko once stood.

Takao ran has hard as he could towards the beast, only to see it turn it's head the sheer amount of air being moved by it's massive size sent a gust down the street he was on. Takao had no idea what this thing was doing, but it appeared to have spotted something. Well at least it was distracted as Takao tried his best to get as many people out of the way as possible, helping focus people away from the beast and down into shelters from the war. He wasn't sure they would stand up to whatever this thing was, but they would not have a chance to make it otherwise. It was at this point that Takao saw the rainbow of light slam into a block of the city, a mere dozen or so meters away from him was turned into dust from the attack that was brought to bear on whatever unfortunate soul was the target of that attack.

Takao had no time to think about what the hell that was as he ran, ran away from that as he focused on the one thing he could do. Saving as many people as humanly possible while he hoped his mother and others would show up and deal with this beast before it was too late.

Time seemed to slow down as the colossal beast, visible from miles away, wreaked havoc upon the land. Ayaka maneuvered through the chaos, the deafening screams of panic echoing around her. She skillfully evaded plummeting debris while putting as much distance as possible between herself and the monstrous creature. Glancing back, she found herself directly behind the behemoth, observing its massive tails crashing into buildings, generating powerful gusts of wind with each thunderous sweep. She was ill-prepared to confront this creature, armed with neither weapons nor a complete understanding of her newfound magic, for which she had yet to craft any spells. This placed her at a significant disadvantage in the face of the rampaging beast.

Moments later, Ayaka managed to put considerable distance between herself and the creature. As she turned to face it again, she witnessed the monster unleash a devastating attack in a direction other than hers. She couldn't help but feel a sense of relief, knowing that anyone who had stood in the path of that attack would likely have met a swift and fatal demise. She, herself, was uncertain whether she could have survived such a catastrophic assault. Armed with nothing more than her own fists and her sharp wit, approaching the beast was a massive task in itself. Even standing in close proximity to the creature while it ran amok would be a perilous endeavor. There appeared to be no intelligent or safe approach to dealing with this monstrous adversary. This unsettling realization gnawed at her as she continued to observe the menacing fox-like beast, standing about fifty meters away from it.

Mishiko heard and saw people coming, more of them chaotic and annoying than the others. Her full attention was on the nine tails though. As everyone was running off at speed due to the nine Tail's attack. She stood there and didn't move from her spot as Ohta instantly created a barrier. Not only one herself but on selective allies. Her dead eyes gazed towards Ninetails as the barrier on Ohta and herself were taking the damage, the barrier still up with no problems. She licked her lips and chuckled darkly, tilting her head a little to the side. "Kurama my dear, what has you so angry? Mmm?" Mishiko spoke in Joyan so only Joyans knew what she said. "Did Ayame's sealing truly corrupt your soul?" She continued and then lifted up her scythe as she kept watch on the nine-tails. "I suppose I shall take a hit on it in exchange for what you were trying to do to me," Mishiko's gaze mirrored Kurama's as if they were gazing at each other's history. Ohta stood by her, keeping the barrier up in case of further attacks. As Mishiko's scythe was pointed up. She summoned [Insert what is rolled here]. The clouds will start to become black as clouds will swirl about as if summoning something within a wormhole in the sky that is starting to form. As it comes down, it'll instantly attack Kurama without mercy. "Why don't you come to your father and let us chat like civil ancient beings, mmm?" Mishiko spoke after the attack.

My roll is determining the anime RPness of what the scythe summons to damage Kurama.

If it had been possible for her to feel fear, now would have been the time. Fortunately, Ikanbi was stupid, and thus fearless. She rode her mana bike around to the side when the blast came and circled around as best as she could to the back side of the creature. She wasn't exactly sure what she could hope to accomplish with her distinctive lack of resources in the moment, however, she was certain she could at least distract the beast so that the others could do their thing properly.

Ikanbi leapt off the bike, and with all of her might attempted to deliver a series of three kicks and a left hook to Kurama's nuts, a feat which she was only capable of accomplishing due to the combined magic of her god soul and her double jump prosthetics, together of which allowed her to get high enough into the air to actually attempt the maneuver.

Kurama couldn't see much as the blast covered his target in a rainbow of colors, but what he was surprised about was seeing a 4 meter radius mirror in the middle of the cone, perfectly protecting the ground around the Demi-god of Death standing in the middle of it. The Nine Tailed Fox then focused his attention more and started to realize who else was there with this women. Ohta! With his eyes going red with the amount of anger he felt at both of them at that point, but something in him knew that they would not be as easy to kill as the humans around him. He was here to kill the humans! Make them pay! It was at that moment a dark storm cloud came suddenly into the area, and his attention was drawn to that for a moment as he saw a pair of eyes, as large and red as his own, stare down at him from the sky.

The Mask of an Oni could clearly be seen forming, staring unmovingly into the eyes of the Nine Tailed Fox, before it slowly opened his mouth as a bolt of what appeared to be black lightning came out before slamming directly into Kurama, burning him for 2xS Damage. The attack burned inside of Kurama, like molten metal was running through his veins but even that didn't compare to the hatred he felt in his heart for the humans running and screaming below him.

At that moment he felt something touch him from below and behind, and without thinking he lashed out at whatever had done this. With a quick step forward, going over Mishiko and Ohta, and a spin around, destroying several buildings with the spin move but keeping Mishiko and Ohta in his sights, he saw a single small.... ant falling from the sky. Lifting his front leg up he slashed his paw upwards at the ant, Ikanbi, and an eight meter wide blade of air came screaming towards the falling Ikanbi. If this air blade made contact with the target, they would take 4xS Damage and be knocked back accordingly. Given the difference between the base speed of the two targets, along with how close Kurama is to this 'ant' the ease of dodging has gone down significantly, some would say to zero.

Turning his attention back to his 'father' he would say  " WHAT WOULD YOU KNOW ABOUT CIVILITY!! YOU ENSLAVED ME!!! " The voice that came out of this being was so deep and loud that it would shake the very ground itself, causing windows to vibrate and pebbles on the ground to move slightly.

Takao was so happy that the nine tailed fox had ran off into a slightly less populated part of the city, going after someone which apparently did not die from whatever that blast was as the beast jumped around where that crater would have been, still aiming at whatever it was. Takao happened to find a young girl, holding a teddy bear as he slowly attempted to lead here away towards the outskirts of the city. Takao had basically no hope of helping with this fight, but he also didn't understand who or what this thing was before he heard it speak for the first time.

The voice pushed against something deep in his mind, something that made him want to kneel out of fear, but something else overpowered it. Who was this thing yelling at about civility? Did it know someone here? Who here could have been strong enough to enslave a being like this? And only one person came to his mind. His own mother. His mother was in danger! Takao looked back, several dozen meters separating Takao from where he believed his mother would be and he began to run towards her. Both to hopefully help his mother in some way, even at the cost of his life, and to save anyone else to happened to be in the area at the time.

Mishiko watched from the heavens above turn into a clouding mess of dark clouds. Her cursed Oni fazed in to make their presence noticed. As this was happening, she switched weapons with Ohta as the nine-tailed fox was busy with some crazy woman doing the most inhumane thing to a creature. Ohta even winced at the thought, but since Kurama probably felt like it was just a small tickle it was fine. Mishiko finger banged with her free hand towards Kurama was they were screaming about, gazing up coldly towards them. A comet of 2x2 shoots out at Kurama. She she had to move out of the way of something, she will. But then Mishiko and Ohta heard what Kurama said. "Not you talking about enslavement to someone who's been enslaved as if they don't know what it's like. Just like being cast out of the heavens because of the Kami being too prideful and self-right, only to be enslaved as a human. You know how humiliating that is for a Goddess of Death? To be erased from human history as well after thousands of years?" Mishiko spoke calmly and softly yet in a cold chilly tone.

"Inari, Ohta, your creation is right though. That's pretty messed up," She added. "How was I supposed to know that humans would seal and enslave them?" Ohta rolled his eyes and gave that tired golden stare. "Plus, everyone who sealed them and squandered, and enslaved them is dead." Ohta continued as he held his barriers up.

Kurama looked down at Mishiko and Ohta, two people that he could only feel hatred in his heart for but not nearly as much as he hated the humans that were around him. Crying, screaming and just generally being loud and annoying. It was at this moment that a bright light came from a rooftop of a house, as a bolt of electrical energy came streaking through the air towards his eye. Simply closing his eyelid was enough to stop the damage from being too serious, along with the fact that his own magical resistances reduced it further. It was during that moment of distraction that he felt another thing hit him, this time it burned like the other attack. Though something else was heard in that, "How was I supposed to know the humans would seal and enslave them". That sentenced echoed several times in Kurama's head as his vision goes red.

" HOW WERE YOU TO KNOW!?! YOU ARE A GOD! YOU KNEW THE HUMANS WOULD DO THIS TO ME AND YOU DIDN'T CARE! YOU SENT ME TO BE ENSLAVED AND YOU LIED TO ME! I WILL BURN THIS ENTIRE WORLD TO THE GROUND OHTA! ROOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!"

The amount of mana that was coming off of Kurama at this point could barely be considered mana as it seemed to have a physical force on the world as the roar pushed it deep into the earth and high into the sky. The earth begins to shake and rumble, buildings begin falling crushing and killing those still unfortunate enough to be caught as they fall and nothing can save them at this point. The mana thrown into the sky has so much force and energy in it that it causes the weather to change yet again, turning the sky black as deafening thunder clouds clapped and lightning struck the ground. The force of this creation caused gale force winds, causing even more havoc in this port city as buildings that were weakened by the earthquake fell over. The world around them appeared to be coming to an end, this was the end times with the sheer amount of chaos and damage that was coming from this.

Whatever Ant that was in the sky, even if they had dodged or moved out of the way of his first attack would be dead by the sheer amount of damage done around them. Kurama's eyes finally glazed over in red as he gave into his rage. This was no longer a time for talking. The world was going to burn!

Takao was just running when he heard the yell again, and this time it brought him to a knee in the amount of force generated by the yelling down at his mother and her companion. The force of personality, the anger and the rage was so strong that Takao never knew anything like this. He had seen his mother upset and angry before but it was never seemed this deep and infinite. He could feel in his soul that when this being said he was going to burn the world, he meant it.

That is when the wave of mana came crashing into him, even as it destroyed the buildings around him and the street around him, a golden circle appeared in front of him stopping it. The wave continued past him, as Takao still down on a knee watched the world around him turn apocalyptic in nature. The sky blackened nearly instantly as whatever this thing was feeling, it was clearly done messing around. Takao knew that hundreds if not thousands of civilians were dead now. The amount of energy coming from this was god-like in nature, and they were feeling the wraith of a portion of a true god's power.

Takao looked up towards Kurama, this Nine Tailed Fox, apart of his father and he mixed in his awe and fear was sadness. This thing, was hurt deeply and even if whatever he thinks is wrong that doesn't change now he feels now. And right now he was razing this city to the ground. Joya, if this doesn't work out, might not make it.

Erebus heard the blip in his neck go off as Techtile concluded her, the audio transmission. He pressed the same spot at his own neck with his thumb, allowing his fingers to rest on the side of his bandaged wrapped face. “Roger that, hold your location Techtile.” He breathed forth a sigh and relaxed in his chair, now understanding the nature of what was truly unfolding, he preferred keeping his skills and connections in secrecy rather then these world-eventing affairs anymore. However… If Erebus was pinged, then it made to coming out here uniquely special, a promise of reward that he couldn’t resist personally, one thing was certain. The situation must have went from simple to dire very quickly.

“So— like I was saying, after you drop me off, you’ll wanna get outta here, we’ll need the cargo taken to the edge of Mount Kuja. If the rumors are true about this fox, that these monsters are some kind of weapon for putting into mages. Well, shucks. It’d be my first time seeing one before it’s got a proper host. Now John, that’s exciting... I’d bet it sells for a pretty big penny. I’m no salesman, but I’ve got a pitch. Ya know what I mean?” Erebus told his co-pilot, a man masked behind a pair of dark aviators and his mic’s headphones. That pilot in question, beside him, was chilled to the bone by such a premonition.

Erebus was cruising over the ocean when they near Yazu Port— toward the event of Joya with reinforcements for Techtile, the crafts carrying him and his mercenaries was of a variety, all of which were out of this world, but rather advanced enough to provide fear-mongering practices against the vast majority of foes seeking to steal the riches of the Akudama.

The craft Erebus was riding inside was of militant design and quite the cargo-hold for contraband (into-and-out of), exporting nations. The black-hawk helicopters invaded the countryside of Joya, from the backside of the large orange beast’s attack, using the mountain as safe passage and covert operations, fourteen of these planes flew in unison and were nearing from 800m, to 700m, to 600m— slowly moving in as the earth tumbled in the distance where the monster was— the helicopters flew in low, creating a ‘v-shape’ in the sky, each plane carried bands of four man fire squads and two pilots, that upon call would throw down rope and opt into Urban Op Squadrons— the exception to that, was of Ere’s transport, carrying only himself.

Akudama’s submarines too would immediately tanker up out of the water to display a full-force naval fleet, right on the shorelines of Yazu Port, donning themselves on the edges of the open water. There were only around twenty-four submarines, but each carried naval platoons of eight-men crews.

A small military company, if anything, not even enough to truly be called a military, but larger scale than any gang could possibly hope to be. But as one would notice quickly, two hundred paid men— and working-class men, could quickly become a formidable fighting force.

Erebus would do more with these soldiers later, but today? Everyone wanted the same thing, to quell the demon and get paid.

The vault lids would uncork upon each sub, vomiting out their men with cheaply man-made auto-firing weapons. As they all threw each other a needed hand, the men materialized into a band of two hundred paid mercenaries.

Erebus waved for the helicopters to stay, and looking behind the beast, just as it’s last attack had flattened the side of a the mountain they’d steered in from, Erebus insisted that the men on the ground direct their course to escorting any women, children, harmed families, and injured casualties away from the battle zone.

“I want to hear nothing from any legal guild as to the validity of our kindness.” — they would all hear, from the captain of the fleetMs radio. Only the captain in question, was Erebus himself, speaking into the headset beside the gentleman flying his vessel.

All the soldiers at the ground level would sink their way into the streets like ants on honey, careening into houses and looking for anyone who may need help. Erebus however, would pick himself up out of the seat, pressing a button that unlocked the hatch so he could thrust the sliding door open. Gale force winds in the sky blew the cloak around Erebus’ body. Unlike his men, Erebus didn’t need a rope, and lunge fives headfirst from the helicopter. He touches the earth softly and gracefully after the free fall.

Erebus activates the power of his magic ring, his Curse of Malvox is called to his hand in a flash of blue light and while it solidifies into a sentiment entity, he sprints until he has range of the monster along with many other mages from various guilds, Erebus targets one of the tails, and maintains himself within 30m of the beast, occasionally moving to dodge thrown and flaming debris. Erebus stares at the beast’s record breaking stats that come into his head-up (cyber) display. “The numbers keep rolling like a broken casino machine…”

This creature was easily the strongest thing he had ever witnessed, and he doubted whether he would live on after a frontal engagement. Instead, Erebus would rely on range— adapt and conquer.

He pulls a sticky black arrow back with his clawed Guantlet, and unleashes two spells. Letting his shoulder thrust from the quiver, before tearing another back and letting it loose too. The first of these arrows had a glowing green energy radiating on it, a spell meant to weaken the strength of the monster, if it landed, this foe would shrink down to size.

The moment the second arrow flew forward, the user’s Apex would swap out for the Gogglegaze, causing the spells sent forward, to stop motion if they had missed, and instantly home in like wild missiles toward their giant victim.
