Fifth Game: Survivor

It was time for another game. The fifth day on the island seemed to last like forever and everyone was on edge because of it. Both Ravens and Hawks were summoned on one of the beaches of the island to conclude what would be known as the two camps. After tonight, the last remaining survivors would depart together without a camp.

For the first time ever, the Master revealed himself properly in front of the participants. The rumors about the existence of another person on the island were finally confirmed. The participants, however, didn't have any time to respond to his presence. They were all lined up and chained at their feet. The Master walked through the group and moved behind them. Suddenly, the sound of something a lot more ominous became audible.  

A horde of hellhounds were chained behind the participants. They were ready to leap at any moment and sink their teeth into their flesh.

"Reach the summit."

The Master unleashed the participants from their chains with a snap of his fingers. They would all get a headstart until the hellhounds would be released. It was going to be a long and hellish night. With a clap of his hands music started to play loudly on the entire island.

"Keep on surviving," the Master whispered.

The Woods (Speed)

First, everyone needs to run into the woods to reach the first checkpoint. The checkpoint is located at the foot of the mountain. Whoever rolls the lowest Speed number is considered devoured by the hellhounds before they reach the foot of the mountain.

The Climb (Strength)

Next, everyone needs to climb the mountain. It is quite steep and requires a lot of strength. The goal is to reach the plateau. Whoever rolls the lowest Strength number won't reach the plateau because they will fall to their death during their climb.

The Plateau (Intelligence)

The oxygen on top of the plateau is incredibly low. There are, however, numerous chests scattered around on the plateau. The chests are locked with a mechanical puzzle that needs to be solved first before it opens. Once solved, the chest will open and provide a mask to survive the oxygen conditions on top of the plateau. Whoever rolls the lowest Intelligence number won't make it in time and dies by oxygen deprivation.

The Summit (Endurance)

The final task is to reach the summit. The walk up there is long and cold. Icy winds will cause hypothermia. Whoever rolls the lowest Endurance number will freeze to death during the walk before reaching the summit.

Roll: Speed, Strength, Intelligence, Endurance.

Details: Each roll must be done in a separate post based on each phase of the game. Each following phase starts when 24 hours have passed. Do note that the post must clearly describe the events taking place during that phase. You can also die by describing the wrong events in your post.

Timer: 24 hours per phase.

Notification.

Mary cannot die during this game. All her rolls are considered 100.

Kurisa used her Energy Bar to remove Fatigue.

Alisa used Healing Herbs to remove Illness.

Nuala's Single Bullet Revolver.

While running, Nuala pulls out her gun and aims it a Noel. It is quite dark and she is unsure whether she will be able to hit him, but this is a battle for survival. She has no choice but to try.

Nuala must roll two dices in her posts to determine her shot. The first one represents Speed and the second one her shot.

Rinni found herself along with the other survivors from both teams standing on the outskirts of what appeared to be a wooded area, leading to a huge mountain with a summit at top. She was shocked to see the Game Master finally revealing his existence to everyone. She tried to move toward him, pissed off and ready to fight, but realized her ankles were chained along with everyone else's.

She then sniffed the air and caught the scent of canines and death. She heard growling and turned to glance over her shoulder spotting hellhounds chained behind them. Her eyes widened. She looked and spotted Masami and Ko also chained along with people she'd never met before. She also saw Mary, the creepy woman from the camp. Then the Master spoke.

He told them to reach the summit.

As he snapped his fingers, the chains were released. This also meant the hellhounds were released. Rinni was fast, but as she ran for her life into the woods she realized this island had sapped her to normal human speed. But as long as she could keep ahead of everyone else, or at least not be the slowest person, she was sure she could make it.

She dashed through the woods, weaving between trees and stumbling over rocks. She had to stay as far away from those hounds as possible. She knew it was selfish to think this way regarding the others, but this was survival. If she tripped or fell behind, she was dog food. She looked for Ko and Masami as she dashed through the woods. If she could find her boyfriend and Guildmate, maybe they could survive together.

Maybe.

Once again the world disappeared from under Steel’s feet. Darkness swallowed the world around him until there wasn’t even a star in the sky. Only total darkness. No sound, smell, weight or other feeling. It was as if one was simply floating in space.

Instantly he appeared in a new location. He was chained by his feet to a line of people some of whom he had seen before. Before him was the masked man he had seen before. He wanted to speak but he needed to listen so that he understood the rules of the game. After all, he did not want to die. Not here not now.

He noticed there were a group of hellhounds behind him and the rest of the competitors. He sure hoped he wasn’t just going to be eaten here.

”Reach the Summit”

The masked man snapped his fingers. The chains released Steel he was allowed to move as he wished and so he started running. Reach the summit meant the game was about reaching the mountains summit and so Steel ran in a direction that led him to a higher altitude.

First he ran through the woods. There were roots and trees and stumps, bushes and more. Steel just ran through it all. He made sure not to get caught in any roots he ran in a way so that he didn’t run into any trees or stumps and he made sure not to move through bushes since that would slow him down. He moved onwards hoping he would get through the forest and get to the foot of the mountain alive.

Fatigue(-5 SPEED), Excellent Quality Fruits(+20 SPEED), High Quality Nuts(+15 INT)

Ragnar was sleeping soundly as he was teleported into an event, yet again. As he woke up he looked around for a moment and saw that his hands were chained and then he heard the sounds of a beast he has heard before. Hellhounds. As he looked back his hearing was confirmed by his sight as he saw hellhounds behind him also chained. Ragnar realized that this was going to be a dead ass run from these beasts because they did not tire as normal humans did. In theory, they could run for hours and never get tired so this was going to be very interested very quickly.

After what seemed like an eternity, the day finally ended, dropping Ko and the rest of the 'Camp' in another unknown location. This time, however, there were several faces he hadn't seen before included in the crowd. Just how many people had been trapped on this nightmare island!?

Ko couldn't resist the urge to strain at the chains binding him, especially upon finally getting a glimpse of the man responsible for this entire ordeal. Of course he was hiding his face behind a mask; was this fucker even human? While Ko was wondering just what kind of horrific game they'd be forced to play tonight, he finally heard the sound of the beasts behind them. "Reach the Summit." the masked man said.

"Oh you gotta be fucking kidding me." As if in response, Ko felt his chains suddenly slacken at a snap of the masked man's fingers. He wasn't kidding. Alongside the other survivors, Ko bolted for the trees, pushing himself to run as fast as possible. In a group like this, it was all about being faster than the person next to you.

The hellhounds were terrifying. Even before turning around to check what the creatures look like, Masami knew that they were already having the appearance of demons. When it was time to run, Masami didn't look elsewhere but forward. The hellhounds would be catching up, and Masami was well-aware unto how flimsy he can be. The woods could be spotted from afar, and that was where they were all going; the tension didn't allow Masami to hear anything else but his own breath and his own heartbeat, the sounds of the hellhounds lunging and growling continue to faintly echo from behind him. There was no other choice but to listen to the masked man and run, otherwise the boy would end up becoming like the rest of the deceased.

Sleep. The final frontei- wait, no. That was space. Sleep was pretty nice, though. Unfortunately for Zane, he was awoken from whatever nap he was taking to be greeted with the identity of the masked man. The masked man looked kind of familiar to someone Zane knew as a kid. "Bane?" Zane asked, only for his vision to finally get a little bit better and realize that he was completely off the mark. This guy didn't look much like Bane at all. Still, Zane had no time to think about his old rival back at Baska - the sound of blood hounds soon filled his ears, as did the simple premise of this game: reach the summit.

Zane didn't know what awaited him at the summit, but based off of his previous experiences on this island it meant a chance to live. A chance to live was certainly one Zane was interested in seizing, so he began to move as quick as he could. Zane could not imagine any worse death than to be gobbled up piece by piece by some pack of wild dogs. Zane was never quite known for being the fastest one around, but the adrenaline from such a high risk scenario would hopefully seize the day.

Her eyes gazed forward as she was prepared to finally die. It was a running race and perhaps more, but for now, all she knew was that she had to reach the summit. Kurisa had her hair tied in a bun with a headband holding back her hair. Her lilac eyes shined bright as she was looking up at the sky. Once it was about to finally start she looked forward. It was all speed for now as she jolted as soon as they allowed them to. She knew it was all or nothing here, at least it felt like it. There were many possibilies and something was on her mind... What did the masked man look like. He probably wasn't that attractive, but if he was then damn... but she doubted that he was as attractive as Caius. She felt like she needed to win, but a part of her felt like maybe it was game over. Now, maybe soon at the most. Winning wasn't really her thing rather it's; love, money or just anything.

The Games were finally continuing. At this point, Nuala the Voidling had completely lost track of time. She had spent the previous day, which had felt like forever, searching for food and items and she had been somewhat lucky! She was able to collect some nuts, catch some fish (even though she wasn’t a big fan of fish) and even a weapon! The gun that Nuala had found was not the type of weapon that she was usually using, but the dagger she had had prior had broken and was of no use.

Nuala was catching on to the pattern slowly and it seemed that every time they were sent out, someone died before the games and events they were put through ended. Nuala did wonder if this had something to do with how everything was build up and if this torture would end once everyone was dead at last. All the participants including Nuala were chained at their feet, standing far away from a large mountain and a forest that was on the way. Behind them were clearly monsters, but she decided not to turn around and simply focus on what was in front of her. This wasn’t her first rodeo after all. The island master (who was without a doubt some sort of otherworldly entity) snapped his fingers, the chains opened up and without thinking about it, Nuala dashed forward and began running for her life.

‘Reach the summit, keep on surviving’, he’d said – and so she would.

While they were all running for their lives, Nuala quickly noticed that the hellhounds were catching up to them, ready to devour them. She still had her gun, and unfortunately quickly realized that the easiest way to distract those monsters was to offer them something or someone else to chew on. With a heavy heart Nuala pulled out the gun she’d found and aimed it at the nearest person while running. She definitely wasn’t a marksman, so she picked the largest target (a dark haired man) that she could find in that moment, aimed and pulled the trigger. "I'm sorry," she whispered, but her voice was barely audible among the chaos.

Being suddenly summoned somewhere was a strange sensation, certainly... Buuut by now Mary had kind of gotten used to it. Sure, it still made her feel a little woozy, but nothing too terrible. She glanced around anxiously. It seemed all the other unfortunate souls were here as well. The chain rattled as she tried and failed to move her feet. Countless questions swirled inside her mind. However, they were all forgotten when she finally saw... him. Her heart skipped a beat. It was the tall and dapper gentleman from before. He was... was... exactly her type~! Eerie, suave and mysterious~! One could almost see the swirls in her eyes twist into twinkling hearts as she swooned.

This had to be fate!

The command, accompanied by a snap of fingers, echoed through the lovestruck ghoul’s mind. “Yes~” She nodded with a soft sigh. Without wasting a moment, she turned around and rushed into the woods. However, something strange was going on... Though the woman looked like death warmed over, she moved with unnatural swiftness. She quickly took point, staying ahead of the rest. The trees and bushes couldn’t even slow down her pace. Maybe fate really was playing some part in this...

Things were different this time around... Not only had the puppetmaster finally revealed himself before each and every one of their scowling gazes, but the two camps had finally, seemingly dissolved, leaving each and every last one of the participants united in a single palpable goal that would likely result in the death of most others. Survive... Guns were fired, houds were let loose, but thankfully, chains were undone:

"Going hard right from the get go huh...?", growled the Lithomancer, knowing she hadn't the luxury to stick around. And so she ran, as fast as the wind could carry her towards the first checkpoint. She could see what would await them next and knew that any injuries she incurred here from dogs biting at her ankles would only hamper her efforts later on.

Zane was alive. Holy shit, he was alive. Somehow he'd managed to outrun the deadly group of hounds that were coming after him. Well, sorta. He still needed to continue up the mountain. Zane was sure there were probably more hounds waiting along the way - and if not hounds, then things that were equally as dangerous. The summit was far away yet, and he needed to start climbing. There seemed to be no other way, and he figured that by going this way the hounds wouldn't be able to reach him should they still be after him. He'd finally arrive at a steep cliff, taking a moment to catch his breath. Zane didn't take any more than a few seconds, though.

His hands were soon on the mountain, his feet following suit. Zane had a bit of experience climbing in the past, mostly during his days as an elf. This was something he was familiar with. Zane moved his arms up, then his legs up. On and on he did this, though with no end in sight just yet. It would certainly be the steeped mountain Zane climbed up. It was a cliff that normally he would never ever want to scale, but... when someone was going to die, they were forced to do things that they normally wouldn't. Zane was fighting for his life out here. Even if he got blisters on his hands after this whole thing, it wouldn't matter. Living came first - a corpse was still a corpse, blisters or no blisters. And so Zane continued up the mountain.

At one point, Masami was sure that he had died. Being proven wrong and without thinking of anything else, he continued to run the same as others, even if the rest were farther than Masami. So far, none has gone back to help one another: just desperate for survival for being under someone powerful enough to continue playing with their body, mind and soul, just like that. The snarling from afar could still be vaguely heard, and even if Masami hasn't taken a good look at the faces of these creatures, his imaginary visuals of what they would look like was enough to terrify him. He was so terrified of the masked man and the hellhounds that he didn't even took notice of the loud gunshot. Finally, he stopped at the foot of the mountain, but everyone else had already started to climb it, as if they knew exactly what to do. However, the boy remained in his spot, trying to catch his breath. If he doesn't continue running, he would get eaten, as well.

Ah, the feeling of being watched. 'This guy's really forcing everyone to run.' thought Masami, finally pulling himself up for the climb, like the majority. The mountain certainly wasn't made and offered for peoples' safety, and Masami had to be careful. The hellhounds wouldn't eat him, but perhaps the ground below will, if he wasn't careful.
