Overall: Yuurei has long white hair with one single red stripe on the right front of his hair. His eyebrows are thin and are the same color as his hair. His skin is as pale as it can get. His ears are average size but have pointed tips from being a part elf. His attire is usually the same, and it is that of Japanese attire. The difference between all his attire is the colors that he might change to. They all have a flower appearance on shorts that he is wearing. His upper attire is usually revealing his chest or another shirt that is under, while his sleeves always end right on his forearm. Yuurei bandages both hands from his forearm all the way to his fingertips. He is found wearing black and red gloves as well. He wears red thermals under his shorts to keep himself warm and along with those thermals, he has red matching socks. Yuurei finishes this all off while wearing black geta or Japanese sandals on his feet.

Extra: He has tribal tattoos all over his back representing the stars and nature from the forest he had come from. His left arm is covered with a cherry blossom tattoo. He also has a star pendant around his neck.

PERSONALITY

Personality: Yuurei is a optimistic person. He does his best to make the best of any and every situation he’s in. He doesn’t let the negative things around him put him down, or at least he does his best. This comes from his childhood and what he has been through. He’s softspoken as he does his best not to get into trouble. He does what is needed of him, so he doesn’t find himself alone. His determination to get stronger, and better is what brings him to be feared by a lot of people in his home. This comes from the goal that he has set himself since he was able to comprehend and understand things. Still, even though he is soft-spoken, you can find that he is very open to having a conversation with those around him. He is overjoyed when people want to talk to him and possibly finds himself speaking too much. Besides that, Yuurei is very short-tempered; he tries not to get in trouble, but when it comes looking for him, he tends to be angered quite easily. His personality switches at this point as he goes from softspoken to a madman. He finds himself yelling and screaming from the top of his lungs. Also usually finds the urge to want to punch something preferably those who anger him but could settle for an animated object. Even though short-tempered, he has rationality; he understands where taking his out his anger out on those who angered him could leave those around him endangered or hurt, including himself. The guy is also blunt as it could be. Due to not talking to many people, he doesn’t know when he’s going to far when speaking and could lead to him getting into trouble.

Likes:

Nature: Born and raised in a forest, Yuurei loves being around everything natural. He finds himself the majority of the time away from the cities and populated areas and in the wild to be around what he finds most comfortable.
Stargazing: Since he could remember, he always found himself looking up to the sky hoping for answers. It is also one of the only things he remembers doing with his parents. It calms him down and it also relaxes him to the point where he finds himself asleep.
Cooking: A delightful thing to do. Being able to create dishes for those that will eat his meal is an exciting thing. Learning this art doesn’t work for everyone and sometimes you are forced to learn how to do it and come to love it.
Swords: The katana that his father had left behind, brought him to love wielding a blade. Even though they learned to use other types of weapons, they have a great fascination with swords of any kind.

Dislikes:

Tea: Being forced to drink tea every time they aren’t in a mood for it leaves a particular taste for it. They don’t mind it but prefer to drink anything other than this.
Bullies: Being picked on his entire life for being different, he has come to hate people who bully others. It reminds of him of everything he had to go through while growing up.

Motivations:

Parents: Hearing how he lost his parents, he hopes to one day be able to find them. Optimistic about his parents being alive, this is the main motivation to keep going.
Adventure: Living where he lived, he loves his home more than anything, but the thrill to see and experience new things is what he wants to do. He also hopes to find a place to belong by doing this.

Fears:

Autophobia: Losing his parents when young, and being an outcast to his kind, Yuurei has only a few people around him. He hopes that they never abandon him because he doesn’t want to be alone and unloved.
Thanatophobia: Even though his lifespan is more than one lifetime, he doesn’t enjoy seeing those around him dying, nor does he want them to face an untimely death before him. It’s a weird thing to be afraid of with his goal in mind, but it’s something he doesn’t bring up to anybody.

HISTORY

History: Yuurei was born in Athalran, but the moment he was born he was disliked by everyone there. His mother was a wood elf, but his father was a human. His mother had found a man injured close to their home and treated his wounds and while doing so fell in love with him. That was the short version of how he was made; the people around him didn’t like his mother for this and ignored their existence. Yuurei growing up couldn’t remember much about his parents, but that they would take him out to an open field in the forest to look at the stars in the sky. His parents’ disappearance was fresh in his memories, but the reason behind it wasn’t clear.

He found himself moving in with a close friend, and honestly his only friend in Athalran. Their parents were close friends, so they always found themselves around each other. It was a good thing for him as it has shown him that not everyone was as bad, he thought they could be. Yuurei only had two things that were his parents, and it was his father’s sword and his mother’s pendant. These were things he planned on cherishing for the rest of his life. The young mut would find himself crying himself to sleep for quite some time. The loss of both of his parents at such a young age would damage anybody and it would take him some years to come to terms with it. Still, he was the same age as his only friend, and they were always acting like the older sibling. He didn’t find it a problem as he was bullied a lot growing up.

The day came when Yuurei would lose another person important to him and it would be his friend’s mother. He was eight years old when this happened, he felt sorrow and tears came out of him. Still, he held his composure as he wasn’t the only one who lost his second mother. Yuurei did his best to comfort his friend as he understood how she felt and what she was going through.

Yuurei found himself out in Athalran a lot and while he was there alone, it brought the other kids to appear. They were ready to bully Yuurei, and with his temper, the young boy got into situations he shouldn’t get into. He would constantly find himself getting beat up by the ones around him. They found him disgusting and blasphemy of union between human and elf. Whenever he came home like this, he would get scolded by everyone in the household. It brought him to understand to choose his battles wisely, so he didn’t get hurt like this.

As he got older, he started doing things quite differently. He had been fascinated with his father’s sword, that he started training with it. He wanted to get better with it and while he had learned how to use other weapons like daggers and bows, Yuurei preferred using his fist and possibly his father’s katana. His training could only be done in a certain area within Athalran, and it was Yuurei’s safe haven. This location was a place he never found anybody going to, and there he found a huge cherry blossom where he would train under. The times he trained there were amazing as he was mostly always isolated, the only person knowing about it was his closest friend.

Yuurei’s time there was the best of his year in Athalran and he occasionally found himself sleeping there or looking up to the stars. It wouldn’t take long, but one day a wood elf had finally found his safe haven. This would be the fourth person that was kind to Yuurei that wasn’t family. This person offered Yuurei food and company while relaxing by the cherry blossom. It wasn’t just that, but this person had given him information that nobody had to give him. This person had explained that on his adventure through the forest, he had seen his parents come across a dark creature. This creature had the smell of undead and blood around him. He explained more clearly that it was a vampire and that he wasn’t sure if his parents were truly dead, or if they were being used for something more.

Yuurei was surprised to have heard this and it was the first information that he had gotten about his parents’ disappearance. The information was very broad, but now he knew what he was looking for and that was a vampire. He had already planned on leaving the forest eventually, but this information brought forth his plan to come a lot faster than he imagined. Still, he needed to get stronger or at least strong enough to survive what was out there. The wood elf that appeared to him that day would show up every now and then, and they would converse with each other. Yuurei had gotten a few tattoos done on him from this wood elf.

These tattoos were things that kept him safe his entire life. It represented a way of him being protected from those that tried to harm him. Yuurei didn’t plan on leaving this forest alone, it seemed like his closest friend had planned on the same thing. He figured he would hitch a ride with them, and he found himself joining the same guild they did.
