Underground Associates PT. 2 (Neutral) Empty Wed Mar 02, 2022 1:41 am

Yuurei

The group had done their job last time well; they were able to give the city guard information about where they were holding all the drugs, and on top of that they had a good time within the tavern, where they were able to chat with a lot of gang members there. It seemed free alcohol, a bit of joke, and some games, which some of them possibly lost on purpose would be a good time. The city guard had told them not to leave Hosenka because he wanted them to continue with the operation he was working on. He wouldn’t have them come to him this time but instead had sent all three of them a letter.

It would tell them that they were to go back to the tavern and see if they could get into the gang that owned the tavern. Yuurei would approach Kailani and Brone with this wondering if they were ready to do this.

“We might have to do something for these people if we want them to trust us. They might want us to deliver something to one of their clients or collect money from an establishment they are protecting. I’ve done this before with another gang in Hosenka so be prepared.” He said to them as he started heading towards the tavern.

This would be the first and last time they would have to ask questions as they were approaching their destination.

Brone Heavyaxe
Brone Heavyaxe was woken by Yuurei, though it did take the elf a good attempt to do so. The dwarf had to take a moment to look about the room to remember he had rented a room in Hosenka. The letter from the client was passed to Brone to which he had skimmed, getting the general request to collect info. After a big yawn, he dressed himself and donned his armor and weapons. Even though the quest was a social interaction, the dwarf didn't want to risk leaving his only form of protection.

He grabbed the helm and tucked it under his arm right before running after Yuurei. Now the three of them were making their way back to the tavern, "A quest within a quest? Sounds complicated" Brone yawned. The thought of running around doing errands sounded extremely boring the dwarf, he had to remind himself several times that this was ultimately to finish the quest that was asked of them.

"Let's hope no fight breaks out" he chuckled, although he actually secretly wishes something of the sort happened in order to break his boredom, "If we do make deliveries, do we get paid for it?" he questioned, though he guessed that wouldn't be the case, otherwise it'll be too easy.

The moment they walked in through the doo of the tavern, Brone pointed to the bartender and the bartender nodded, already retrieving a mug of ale for the dwarf as if he was a regular patron now.

Kailani yawned, a little tired due to struggling to sleep in a strange location. The wind mage had already read the letter meticulously, ensuring she had a firm grasp on their client's wishes. Despite this, she still listened to Yuurei as he addressed the situation. He was right, they probably would request something from them and she didn't mind as long as doing so would ultimately mean their capture.

Although, The wood elf wondered if perhaps it was better to have Nimbus remain back at the inn rather than taking him to the tavern. When they had gone there last time, the black and white feline had been quite taken by the card games, gambling away what little funds he had earnt through their previous quests. He definitely had a problem, but now was not the time for addressing it. She pondered it for a moment but decided that perhaps it would be good to bring him anyway. He had been the catalyst that helped break the ice with a lot of the tavern folk because of his antics.

Kailani remained fairly quiet as the trio made their way towards the tavern, focused on doing her best to ensure they'd be successful in their endeavor. As they stepped inside, the dwarf seemed to be once more be right in his element, already heading over to the bar to get a drink. Following suit, she figured it would be strange to enter a tavern without ordering a drink, even if their plans were a little more complex this time around, one drink wouldn't affect her cognitive abilities too harshly and it may just be the confidence boost she needed to get over her anxiety over having to join a gang. Her choice of poison was a sweet fruity cider, which she started sipping the moment it was handed to her.

Her lilac eyes would shift away from her drink to the light mage, waiting for him to strike up a conversation over the three of them helping out the gang.

Yuurei

They would all enter the tavern and it seemed like everyone had made their place in the tavern. The people there would wave at the five of them. Yuurei would wave back as he would have a smile on his face. He would make his way towards the bar, and he would order his whiskey as always. When he had gotten his drink, he would look at it and he figured this would be his only drink. How was he going to get the attention of the gang to allow them to get his group to work for them? He figured he would bring it up to the most knowledgeable person in the tavern, the bartender.

“I like the people in this tavern. If I remember from last time, they were part of the Dead Reapers? I wondered how we could get in with them, I would love to have some people having my back, and I do the same for them.” He said out loud as the bartender walked back and forth.

When the man was done with serving drinks for a few minutes, he would come back to Yuurei with a smile on his face.

“If you want to get into better terms with these people, I can put in good word for you to that man there. Just give me the word, and I will go to him and relay the message.” He said to Yuurei.

The light mage would nod hearing the bartender’s words and he would drink some of his whiskey as he looked at the bartender.

“That would be nice of you to do that.” He said to the bartender.

The bartender would hear that and would walk off to possibly a high-ranking gang member.

Brone had already taken a swig of his drink by the time his companions joined him. He turned about, his back to the bar as he casually looked about the taproom. The air of the room was more laxed than last time, whatever caution, if there were any, there was before concerning the three of them seemed to have gone. He began thinking of different approaches he could take, to start conversation was always a difficulty for him, though only in the case of speaking to humans or elves, but when it comes to other dwarves, brash and sudden tends to be welcomed well.

Then he heard Yuurei spoke to the bartender regarding being introduced to the Dead Reapers, suspecting that being the name of the gang, Brone wasn't paying much attention. He shrugged as he took another swig and leaned towards Kailani, "I guess that'll help, better the bartender than me" he chuckled as he watched the bartender walk over to a patron who was sitting at the center table, the safest place within a large group of their own crew. Every now and then, one of the rough-looking patrons would look over to the three of them and Brone would either raise his drink to them or just give a simple nod.

Brone then leaned towards his companions again, "Oi, why are we making friends again?" he completely forgot the reason to why they were at the tavern, not because of his drink, he was still sober, but because of his lack of focus and attention.

Kailani gazed at Yuurei as he spoke to the barkeeper. He certainly had grown, not only physically, but his general demeanor also seemed so much more mature than before, rather cool and confident. Well, it wasn't like she was completely unchanged either, but the wood elf was a little worried since he sort of felt a little less familiar. Her thoughts had trailed off and before she knew it and when Brone spoke to her she had barely caught his words.

"Huh? Oh.. yea.." She blushed a little, embarrassed that she might have been caught staring at the light mage. Turning her full attention to the dwarven man now she'd take a sip of her cider before answering his question, leaning in to whisper in a hushed tone, lest she be overheard by the other patrons.

"We need to get friendly so they trust us enough to leak us some information." The wood elf would pull away once she'd finished speaking, figuring it would be too dangerous to talk about any further details while they were in the den of the gang they were attempting to infiltrate. Glancing around the room, she'd feel Nimbus shuffling around a little on her shoulder, he seemed to be nervously looking around.

While the bartender was talking to someone in the tavern, Yuurei would look over to that area and would lift his glass of whiskey to the man as he could feel Brone leaning towards him. He did not catch Kailani looking at him, and man, if he did, he would have winked at her to joke around and mess with her. The light mage would turn to look at his friend as he had asked them a question. He would chuckle a bit hearing this and he would look over to Kailani as she was quick to answer him.

He would nod as she was correct on that matter. They needed them to leak information, and they also needed to get close to the boss, so this wasn’t a one-time thing.

“Yeah, she is right, and remember they want the boss of the gang, so if we can get close to him, then we could find something that incriminates him directly and give it to the city guards. They want the head of the snake and hopes that another one doesn’t grow in its place.” He paused taking a sip of his glass.

“I think after they take him down, they need to start arresting everyone else as well.” He said as the bartender seemed to have finished talking as he was heading towards them.

The bartender would go around the counter as he would look at the three of them and had a smile on his face.

“The guy said if you truly want to have a shot inside of the gang, then you got to go to himself yourself. He will size you up and see if you are good enough to do what he wants you to do.” The bartender said to the group.

Yuurei would look at everyone to see if they were ready.

Brone took another swig of his drink as Kailani explained the detailing of the quest again. The dwarf nodded his head, though with a sigh, "Just as I thought, complicated" he then shrugged his shoulders and scratched his beard. Yuurei further explained and the dwarf simply groaned, "Ugh, just beating them hell out of the enemy is much simpler, but fine" he said before taking another swig.

As the bartender returned to the counter, he explained what needed to be done which did brighten the dwarf's mood, going straight to the head instead of beating around the bush was his tactic anyway. He passed his nearly empty mug back to the bartender, "Another round for me and my friends, if ye don't mind" he gave the bartender a smile and the man complied with a sigh as he retreated to fill up the cups of the three Blue Pegasus members.

"I can handle being sized up, despite my height" Brone laughed. He looked to Yuurei and caught his gaze, he immediately knew what he was intending to ask, "I'm ready, just let me get my refill, Yuurei-kun". Soon enough, the bartender brought he ale, whisky, and cider to the counter. Brone grabbed his drink, took a swig and stood up beside his elven friend, "Aye, now I'm ready, let's show them that..." he took a moment to pull out a small 'How to Etiquette' book he got from the guild hall, quickly skimmed a page that was bookmarked before putting it away, "...We command the room" he then tapped his chest with a fist.

Kailani chuckled, resisting the urge to pet Brone's head just in case he took it as an insult. The dwarven man was sort of adorable when he was itching for a fight. Still, he'd have to keep his axes to himself for a bit, or they'd end up butchering the entire assignment, not just a couple of members.

As the bartender returned, she'd hear Brone ordering another round and the wood elf would gladly accept the refill without complaint. Two drinks should still be fine, right? She wasn't that much of a lightweight. The wind mage felt shifting on her shoulder again and she'd furrow her brows, turning to her exceed.

"What's going on with you, Nim?" she'd whisper in case it was something he shouldn't be sharing too loudly.

"O-Oh, uh, n-nothing, nothing." Nimbus fidgetted with paws, eyeing up the room, almost as if he was searching for something. Her lilac eyes did a quick scan, and she'd note the couple of guys he'd been gambling with the other night weren't here right now and she'd sigh. So that was it, he wanted to go waste even more jewels on a card game he barely understood the rules to.

Fighting with the impulse to scold him, Kailani would raise her hand to give him a small scritch under the chin to relax him a little. Even though they had become friendly with the tavern goers they would still be a little suspicious if one of them was looking a little too jumpy.

Yuurei would hear Brone’s words and it seemed like his glass was going to be refilled. He would take it all in before handing back the empty glass to the bartender. He would refill their glass and he would hand Yuurei’s back to his hand.

“Of course, you can Brone. You’re strong enough I bet, but let’s be on our way.” He said as he would get up from his seat as he would head over to the center table.

Renji hoped this work and that they weren’t fighting anybody here. He knew they could handle it, but he wanted to continue to get paid by the City Guards. They would pay them to do their job for them, and that was for the best.

He would get up from the seat he was on, and he would start walking towards the table. When he got to the table, he would take a seat at one of the empty spots as he would look at the guy in front of him.

“I see you wanted to do a job for us. Why the hell do you want to work for us?” He asked him wondering what he was going to say.

“Okay, well if I’m being honest I want to join because I found you guys interesting. I also figured if I get behind a gang like you guys, I could be helpful. I’m strong enough to do a lot, and with these guys, with me, we can do a lot more.” He said to the gang member he was in front.

Yuurei would take a sip of his drink.

“Is that so. I mean let me think about what I want you guys to do, but what can these guys do for me?” He asked him as he waited for them to speak up for themselves.

If he felt that they were committed, he would give them a job to do.

With another round of liquid courage, the Blue Pegasus members were ready to take the stage. As Yuurei made his way over to the middle table where the highest ranking gang member sat, as far as Brone could tell, the dwarf then followed suit behind his half-elven friend. The introduction was as straight forward as it could possibly be and as Yuurei sat, emitting an aura of pure cool, Brone followed up by pulling up an empty chair from a nearby table and sat beside his friend.

The head honcho spoke and asked of the others and that when Brone had taken another swig from his drink before answering, "Ye probably never heard of the mountain dwarves, hardest working beings you'd ever seen, the lack of height is made up with enlarged spirits and hardy attitudes" he then chuckled, placing his drink and helm upon the table, taking a look at not only the main gang member, but some of the goons that shared the same table. He expected a short joke to escape one of their lips, so he figured he'd hit it the nail on the head so they'll be no excuse given to not consider a hardy worker such as the dwarf that sat at their table. Every now and then, some of the goons would look to the helm then back at the smirking dwarf.

"And why do you want in?" the man beside the leader seem to be possibly the second in command.

"I'm a dwarf" he took another swig, "We like work, regardless where it's at".

Kailani drew in a long breath as Yuurei opened up dialogue with the man in charge of deciding their fates. She'd steady her heart rate, trying to hide her nerves as she readied herself. As a question was directed towards Brone and herself, the dwarf would take the initiative, the stout man getting straight to the point, as was typical of himself. Honestly, it was a little alarming just how easily he managed to fit in around here.

Once the dwarven man was done speaking, the wood elf would feel the eyes of the gang members turn their attention to her. Summoning forth her inner-Sofia, she'd act far more confident than she truly was,first placing her drink on the table before pulling up a seat from a nearby table. Plopping herself down on the seat she'd cross her arms and legs, as she stared down the goons before her.

"As an elf I'm incredily light on my feet and almost impossible to track. I can easily slip in and out of places without ever being detected." She'd smirk, tucking the loose strands of hair behind one of her pointed ears, putting them on full display, "As for why I want to join." She'd add before any could even question her intentions as they had done with Brone.

"I guess you could say I'm bored." she shrugged giving off an air of aloofness. "And my friends here promised me I'd be in for a good time if I joined alongside them.". An excuse she'd heard before from a few enemies she had fought in previous jobs. Apparently, just having nothing better to do, was often a good enough reason to break the law.

After speaking it was time for the final part of her act as she leaned forward to grab her drink, briefly exposing her cleavage. A trick she'd picked up from fellow blue peagus members. Sometimes the best distraction was simply one's body. Even if her words weren't enough to convince them, people tended to have a tough time saying no to a pretty lady. Despite her calm, composed demeanor, her heart was racing as she prayed she'd played her part right.

Yuurei and the leader of the gang would hear what the dwarf had to say, and when he heard the short man speak, they would all laugh when he heard what he said. This guy was straight to point, and he also just showed the people around him that he was able to take a joke. Still, the leader would nod hearing him say that he liked work, which was good. His attention then turned to the lovely lady as he wondered what she would have to say. They would look at her, and it seemed like she was smart bringing up her skillsets to them, which could be used to take someone out without them knowing. Her depiction of being bored made the gang members smirk as they all wanted to show her a good time.

Of course, it made it more enticing when they saw her cleavage as she had gone for the drink on the table. The light mage blushed when he saw this as he couldn’t believe she would pull something like that and found himself biting his lip before looking at everyone else who was looking. The gang leader would nod as he saw her a piece of work and could enjoy his time if he got them all to join.

“Interesting group; I got a man with a plan and strength to prove it. A hard-working stout with energy to spare for my men, and a beautiful elf girl who could probably cut our throats without noticing, but so hot she could have a good night with me and fall in love.” He said this with a smile on his face.

Yuurei’s left hand tightened hearing this, but he tried his best to calm down as he pierced his skin and blood slid onto the edge of his hand.

“I got work for you three. If you prove your loyalty this way, I will let you in, and take care of more important jobs. I want you three to go to a nearby shop and tell them that the Dead Reapers will be protecting them from now on and that we want to have them pay the same amount as the last gang who protected them. You might bump into the gang that protects them there now, but hey this is how you show me your worth.” He said to the group as he laughed and everyone else laugh.

Yuurei would get up from his seat and he would look at the boss.

“Alright that sounds like a plan. Directions to the shop.” He said and the man would give them the directions they needed to go to their next destination.

After Brone's choice of words, Kailani was next and hearing what her skillset were, he began to wonder how great of a thief she could be, then his thoughts trailed to what her passed could be, if she ever had stolen for a living, then he wondered how old the lass was, even though she looked young, she's an elf of course, she could be centuries old. Brone started to wonder how much does he truly know of his companion even though they've known one another for two years, this has become a bit of a dark train of thought.

But then the train came to a screeching halt when Kailani shown her cleavage. Brone quickly looked away while bringing his drink to his lips. It was obvious to him that Kailani wasn't reading the 'Proper Etiquette' book Blue Pegasus had offered to him upon his arrival, she must have be reading through the 'How to be a Proper Hostess, Version 2'. Indeed, it would be surprising to his comrades if they knew he actually spent a good amount of time during the two years reading through several of Blue Pegasus' books in the library, trying to learn 'Presentation, Conversation, Socialization, and Fraternization' all atop 'Etiquette', after all, these were the essentials to a Blue Pegasus member.

After the quick explanation of the plan, which Brone only caught the ending half of it, the dwarf led the way with confidence. He downed the last of his drink before leaving it at the bar counter and walked out the door while saying, "This'll be quick" without looking back. Soon enough he was within the shop of a cobbler. Shoes were lining the walls on both ends. The store owner seem to be a middle-aged thin man with glasses, clearly a push-over. Flanking the man were two taller, rough-looking men who looked the dwarf, to which Brone returned with a glare of his own.

Kailani felt Nimbus tense a little bit, it seemed hearing her spoken about in such a vulgar manner had struck a nerve within the feline. Yet surprisingly he held his tongue, which the wood elf was incredibly grateful for, they couldn't afford to piss these men off now. Her overly-sensitive nose picked up the sickeningly dry, sweet metallic scent of blood. Taking a moment to glance around it didn't seem like anyone nearby was in a fight, or crying out in pain. Her brows furrowed a bit as she let it slide, perhaps someone had just accidentally cut themselves.

It seemed their introductions had been adequate as they were already assigned their first job. Extortion. Of course. The most common of crimes that gangs tended to commit. The moment they stepped out of the tavern and out of earshot, Nimbus would tap Yuurei to garner his attention.

"When we're done working for these pieces of trash, I'm allowed to castrate that guy right?" The exceed would whisper, leaning over from Kailani's shoulder to Yuurei's ear. The wood elf pretended not to hear, she honestly couldn't care less what was done to that disgusting man once they no longer needed to pretend to be on his side.

Upon entering the shop of the keeper they were supposed to 'shake down' Kailani sighed, scratching her head. They really had to go through this? Being the bad guy was definitely not something that came naturally to the kind-hearted elf. Her lilac eyes glanced at the two burly men. But beating up a couple of thugs was definitely something she could handle.

She didn't say a word, letting their unofficial leader, Yuurei speak for the group as she instead readied herself for what was most assuredly about to become a brawl.

While they walked towards their destination, he would feel a tap on his side and he would look over to Nimbus. He would have a smile on his face when he heard what the Exceed said to him, and he actually liked that idea.

“Yes, we can along with that idea. I was planning on other things, but that’s just fine as well.” He said as he looked to release the tightened fist and looked down to see the blood dripping from his hand.

Well Kailani is going to be upset. I know she still smelling blood. He thought to himself as they had approached the shoe store.

They would step in and the appearance of the two men behind the owner of the shop would mean they were getting paid to be his bodyguard.

“So, I see you have protection, but you can tell these weak pathetic men to be on their way. You’re going to be protected by the Dead Reapers from today on. It starts today and whatever you pay them will be what you’re giving us today. If it’s too little we will be increasing the price, so don’t you dare think to lowball us.” He felt disgusted talking to this old man like that, but he had to get the job done.

The old man was scared as he didn’t know what to say to them. He couldn’t just agree with them when there was another gang taking his money to ‘protection’ his shop. The two guys looked at each other and shook their heads as they walked over to the three of them.

“You hear these guys. We got a short man and a freaking sexy girl and a pretty boy talking like they have the ability to do what they want. Well, isn’t that cute? Shall, we take out the men first and have fun with her last?” They said this as one of them would be quick to attack Yuurei without warning.

Yuurei would find himself dodging the attack as he leaped back and away from the attack. The man’s fist hits the ground with a smirk on his face. The light mage was tired of these guys talking about Kailani like that. His left hand bleeding more than it did before as Renji opened his bag and the gauntlet would magically appear daunted on Yuurei.

“No fucking mercy!” He shouted as he was going to take his anger on this poor guy.

A simple request, just to let the cobbler know that he has new protectors for his shop, didn't seem that difficult, though seeing the two rough-looking men flanking the cobbler did increase the difficulty... just by a fraction. Just as Brone expected, Yuurei delivered the introduction nicely, the dwarf figured he should read through 'Elegant Communication' once he returned back to the Blue Pegasus library, but for now, they had trash to take care of.

As the half-elf announced the pricing and seeing the look of worry on the cobber's face, Brone began to realize and remember that he and his team were the bullies in this situation, that the cobbler had no choice and he himself was the victim. The dwarf felt bad, but he needed to keep the mask up, luckily he was had taken an acting class during his two years, all the more to help him scale the ranks of the guild. "Aye, I am short, but if I cut your shins off, you'll be short too" Brone laughed as the fight broke out.

The second man rushed forward as the first attacked Yuurei. The second thug swung at Brone, landing a hit on his face, his cheek felt the sting, and just as he was about to return the favor with a fist of his own, Yuurei called 'No Mercy', "Fine by me!" he yelled as he drew his steel battleaxe and slammed the blade onto the thug's shoulder, cutting deep and bringing him to the floor.

Yuurei was surprisingly good at acting like a thug, making her wonder if it truly was all an act. Kailani felt a little uneasy, he really did seem quite different from the kid she once knew. His anger had certainly gotten worse, that was for sure. This was quickly turning into a blood bath and the wind mage wasn't entirely certain that all of this was truly for the best.

Regardless she'd do her utmost for her allies, seeing Brone get smacked in the face she'd summon forth her mana, waving her hand around in a quick whirlwind-like motion as two circles of magic lit up upon her hand and underneath the dwarf's feet, a surge of gentle wind erupting from beneath him as it focused his check, soothing away the pain and stopping it from bruising further.

Next, she'd move her attention to the now gauntlet wielding half-elf. She'd gently touch him on the shoulder, shooting him a smile in an attempt to reduce the anger burning in his eyes.

"Allow me to handle this one?" She'd ask, not waiting for a reply as she stepped forward opening her palms as yet more magical power was drawn from within her, "You wanted to have fun with me right?" She'd smiled at the thug, who shot her a confused look that soon turned to fear as the air rapidly drew into her hands, the wind magically attaching to her fingers, giving her a set of elongated claws on both hands.

"Then let's have some fun then." She'd swipe, smacking him straight in the face with her magic and sending him tumbling back from the force of her magic. Before he'd get the chance to pick himself up she sent a surge of mana to her feet, and with a click and flick of a wrist, she sent herself hurtling towards the man once more. A second swipe, aimed at his stomach this time, sent him flying back once more, this time into the wall of the store. The wood elf frowned a bit as he crashed into the stone, she didn't really wish to cause any damage to the property.

Her magic wasn't strong enough to knock out the rival gang member completely, but she had done enough to leave him lying on the ground, clutching at where she had struck him as he coughed a little. Her training had not been all for naught it seemed.

Yuurei

Yuurei was getting ready to move towards the man in front of him, but one gentle touch on his shoulder would bring him to look over. The anger that was shown all over his face would soon disappear as he looked at Kailani. He wondered if he had done something wrong, but then she had basically asked him to stand back. He would smile at her as he would calm himself. His blood left hand touched his chest to his heart as it was starting to slow down. The light mage knew she possibly didn’t like him angry, and it was possibly why she stepped in. He would take a step back and allow her to handle this.

”Of course, you…” He didn’t get to finish as he watched her cast a spell.

Yuurei would watch her fight instead and this was something new he would get to see. Her magic was stronger than it was before, and he got to see it in action. The light mage would move his left hand up to his face as he would lick his wound and shake his head.

“Oi, that’s deep.” He saw the wound and shook his head as he looked over to Kailani’s fight.

As he watched her fight the man he would flinch when she sent him flying to the wall of the place. It was not what he expected. He didn’t want to damage the place, but could he have possibly said it wouldn’t have been worse if he was in the fight when he was that angry. His eyes would go to Brone to see how the dwarf was doing.

“I guess it’s good to see that she can take care of herself don’t you think.” Renji said hoping he would stop losing his sense of reasoning because of her.

Yuurei would nod agreeing with the Exceed though as he was happy to see this.

Brone Heavyaxe
Brone confirmed that his target that he had grounded now laid unconscious on the floor, the strength of the attack was overwhelming and he wondered if he should have held back. Suddenly a gentle breeze enveloped the dwarf, he caught the scent of lavender, however only slightly, it seemed differently entirely as well as the embracing wind. Then his cheek, where the thug had slug him, soothed and the pain was gone, "What in the high mountain-" he was confused, but as he turned to Kailani, to confirm if it was her magic that was comforting him, he saw her hands enveloped in visible air, but in the shape of what look like claws, or talons. The dwarf took a step back as Kailani rushed the other thug, two quick strikes and the man was sent flying.

"By my beard" Brone was impressed and in shock, the elf has grown indeed, her magic has transformed and she has shown it. A part of the dwarf felt relieved, he was worried before about her magic becoming unreliable to her. His thoughts had ran back to the night when she was rushed to the hospital. A smile crept onto his face, now knowing he can stop worrying.

"Dead Reapers are your patrons now, Cobbler" Brone gave a hardy laugh as the cobbler looked up from behind the counter where he hid. And with that, Brone walked outside the door and stood waiting for his team.

Noting the two thugs were dealt with, she'd lift the one she had been beating up by the scruff of his neck, forcing him to look her in the eye.

"Go tell your boss that this place belongs to the Dead Reapers, alright?" She smiled, her eyes filled with malice. He didn't even try to fight back, at this point, as he scrambled onto his feet, hobbling towards the door, "Oi, take your friend with you, we don't like having trash in our stores." She yelled, to which he quickly obeyed, dragging his ally's unconscious body through the door and past Brone who he did his best to avoid.

Once he was out of sight the wind mage would sigh, striding over to Yuurei and holding her hand out towards him.

"Hand. Now." she demanded, it hadn't clicked at first, but when they had been traveling here, the metallic scent of blood had continued to linger. She'd only confirmed her suspicions after catching him lick his hand out of the corner of her eye during what could barely be called a fight.

Should he give it to her she'd summon forth more mana, her spell not as strong as the one she'd used earlier on Brone's cheek but enough to close the wound. Once she'd finished healing him the wind mage would glance over to the shopkeeper, part of her wanted to go make sure he was doing alright, but it would be a little strange to do so after demanding money from him.

Instead, the wood elf simply sighed, stepping outside to join up with Brone. They'd done what was requested of them now, right?

Yuurei would see that the two of them were able to handle themselves, and it made him really happy. He had a huge grin on his face as he had made some good choices in his life. He heard their exchanges with the other gang members as they ran away, well one of them ran away while dragging his friend along. His head snapped in the direction of Kailani who was next to him and asking for his hand. He would blush a bit. His hand in marriage, was it? He didn’t think she was bold enough to ask that much of him when she didn’t decide on her feelings for him. Then he realized that wasn’t what she was talking about when he remembered what he had done to his left hand.

He would stretch his hand out to her, and he would chuckle a bit as he was embarrassed because of the wound he had given himself and because of his misinterpretation. Once she was done the wound would be gone and he would thank her without hesitating. They would leave the store, but Yuurei would stay behind. He would go to the shopkeeper and ask him for the money. The man would be nervous at first but knew that if they did that to the gang members that were here, then the Dead Reapers were to be feared. He handed Yuurei the money and the light mage would look at him.

“Don’t worry things won’t be like this forever I promise.” He said it as he was trying to be encrypted with his message.

He would step outside, and he would be with Brone and Kailani.

“We got what we came here for. I guess we go and report back to the boss and go from there. I’m sorry we got to go through this crap.” He said as they would give the money to the gang leader.

He would be surprised by their work and he would bring them into the gang. They had finally entered, but now what was going to happen. They proved their worth and it would take a while before they could take this man down.

Brone Heavyaxe
Brone took a look down and up the street, making sure no one was paying them any mind. However what caught his attention was Kailani's voice, sounding aggressive as well as assertive, He looked in through the window of the shop, trying to make out what was going on in there, next thing that happens is the two thugs limping their way out of the store. As the two passed by the dwarf, Brone bucked at them and they flinched. They then hobbled faster down the street.

The door opened again and Kailani joined the stout man in waiting for Yuurei. Brone looked sideway at the wind mage and gave her a smile, "Aye, lass, ye've grown, I'm proud of ye" is all the dwarf said before Yuurei eventually joined them. As the three of them made their way back to the tavern, it was quiet between them and the dwarf more or less knew why, they weren't use to playing such roles and Brone wasn't sure of what to think about himself now since he had grown up imagining himself as a hero as well as an adventurer. He kept telling himself that this was a ruse and he needed to continue to play his part to make sure this quest is completed.
