Jikan

Jikan stayed in the water, several meters under the surface that shinned with the bright light expanding over the sea that was a part of the Mahalo Beach's area. The predominate red headed magic user had just unleashed a kick at the beast, using her physical strength to creature a wave current that crashed into the beast. Slowing it down and knocking it back a little, with the added bonus of unleashing some damage.

The giant beast roared, angry, annoyance, and blood lust easy felt from it. It charged forward through the aftermath current of the wave, opening its jaw to swallow Jikan whole. If it could get to her that is. Through disorted hearing Jikan heard a yell above her as her head and body made their way to the surface. It was Alisa.

"And where do you think you're going...?!!!",

The black haired enchantress moved, soaring over the water water, speed flowing and moving between her magically created wings. As Jikan's head burst to the surface, she saw Alisa' left hand be coated in some sort of diamond coat, the famous magic she had been known for. With a clench fist, she clocked the beast's side, sliding and knocking it off the course towards Jikan and the fishermen near her.

Jikan shook her hair, water lingered onto her hair making it heavy and stick to her face. The dampness creating a vail over the left side of her face.

Alisa was not done with the beast though, no sooner after she hit the beast did she moved back and charge her magic into her right hand. Thrusting a pal forward, she shot a spear shaped object that sliced through the beast's head. Knocking it clean off and leaving nothing of its head to remain.

"Well....that is that then".

Thankfully, her attack not only stopped the beast in its tracks but finished it off entirely, separating its head from its body as it fell back down below the waves with a loud, resounding splash as the sculptress swiped her hands:

"Hopefully that didn't spoil the meat too much...?", she mused, finishing off the sea monster, lowering her winged frame down just above the water, stepping down on what remained of the ship as she men scrambled back onto it, joining the sculptress as she awaited for Jikan to join them as well. Some of the other survivors quickly tied their ropes around the fallen leviathan, ready to tow their kill right back to shore... Alisa shook her head, a somber hint to her voice as she took note of just how many of them had perished in the endeavor, "My apologies... The beast caught us completely off guard."

The nearest fisherman raised his hand, a soft smile despite the weight in his chest at the loss of some of their companions. Shooting a hopeful look right back a the ocean, Alisa thought back to the islander's beliefs, how the souls of the dead reincarnate in the body of a marine animal. Between their reverence for the sea and their propensity for dangerous fishing trips, the loss of their companions hardly stopped them. Each of them looked back at their prized catch and the trip back to shore with a resolute look in their eyes:

"That's alright. We knew the risks going into this... And if you two hadn't been around, we'd have met the same fate. You had my thanks.", the fact that the two mages had talked them into this bore utterly no weight, as they knew fully well they were the ones who accepted it.

In the end, Alisa took the cue and joined them on the deck of their half eaten vessel, quickly scooping up the broken main mast, huffing as she hoisted it back upright, using her crystalline magic to weld it back in place:

"The beast really did a number on the ship... I wonder if it can even still sail."

"Not as fast as we'd like, but it will sail."

Jikan

Jikan began to swim back to the ship, at least what remained of the ship. Her eyes turning to the beast's body as Alisa spoke her words about it. She wonder if she would hear her from their position from each other, or the other fishermen, "The head is gone, nothing else has happened to it. Besides bruising maybe. Meat should be fine, maybe even a little tenderized", she spoke calm. She gave her opinion, but as she spoke she wondered if Alisa was asking them a question or was just stating something for the open air.

Stepping onto the ship after pulling herself up, Jikan eyed the waters. People died, and the ship they were using was partially destroyed. A shame. Life lost and their task successful. But they still had to deal with fishing for the time they were out as well as bringing the huge beast's body back as well as anything they caught.

....they probably should get the body pieces out of the water too. It could contaminated the water and fish life, draw more violent creatures, and also, she assumed, the fishermen would want to bring their fellow workers home to be laid to rest. She had no idea of the customs, traditions, or faiths of the people within the island, but her thoughts could be related to the conditions of humanity that she was fair knowledgeable on.

Jikan let the others talk, Alisa was the more face type of character between the two of them reputation wise, she also was the guardian of the island and its people after all. At least it sounded like there were not terrified about what happened and could move forward. Nor, did they blame Alisa or Jikan for putting them into the situation in the first place. Instead of talk, Jikan walked over to one of the sides of the ship, placing a hand a brown magic circle appeared as rock and minerals flowed from the spot to the gap. Slowly filling it up to be tight and packed. It was not a permanent solution probably, but it would easily handle the day's duties.

"Mmmm, should be good enough to eat at this rate.", Alisa nodded, she'd indeed been mostly thinking out loud, though she smiled back at the redhead once the woman pitched in, soon stepping right back onto the ship as the fishermen got to work on tying just enough ropes around the heavy carcass to haul it back to shore.

Even as the ship started to sail, Alisa's brow furrowed, an apprehensive hint as she looked back as the slaughtered leviathan, for a moment wondering if a vessel as light and small as this one would actually be able to haul such a sizeable carcass. Alisa did her utmost to weld as much of the ship as she could, carefully as to not produce so much crystal as to weigh down the ship. But even with a half demolished vessel, her eyes widened as she found it sailing with surprising ease, attesting to the skill of its sailors:

"Oh...? Are you sure it's alright to let that go?", Alisa noticed it as well, pointing as thumb at the severed head of the beast, floating quite a bit further away, her long hair fluttering about behind her with a stronger, powerful gust that balooned the sails above them.

The men shared her apprehension, but not enough to go out there and fetch it, simplying raising his hand in refusal:

"Best leave it be... The wind's starting to pick up.", stated one sailor, shaking his head, returning the frown and leaving little doubt in Alisa's mind that he'd have recovered if he could, "With our ship in this condition, best make it back to shore as fast as we possibly can."

Hmmmm... He had a good point. Alisa hadn't even noticed it at first but as she looked off into the wind, feeling whipping with increasing force against them, she understood what the men meant. In the end, she moved off towards the prow of the ship, hand resting against the side as the men began sailing it towards the shore, still quite a bit far away, their pace steady, but visibly slow on account of the added load hauled behind them.

Jikan

As Jikan watched the brown magic circle finish its task, she lowered her hand from the spot on the ship. The soil and rocks filling the gap for now at least. Done with the task at hand for her, nodding her head as she heard Alisa's comment about the meat from the beast's flesh being good enough to eat. That was well and good enough with her. The beast was dealt with and the meat was getting tied up and pulled in. Being wrapped up and dragged behind with the ship.

Jikan's ears picked up the conversation between Alisa and the fishermen. Her eyes too faced back towards the slain leviathan. It was impressive that the small ship was able to pull such a large body. But, it was also present that Jikan was listening to the concern of the head remaining behind.

"If there is a concern about the head, why not just remove it?". She spoke to the crew and Alisa as she turned and walked to the back of the ship. With a simple movement she extended her left hand in front of her body, snapping her finger using her thumb, middle finger and ring finger. Her eyes stayed glued to the dead beast's head. A purple 8 meter diameter magic circle appeared under her as well as under the head. Jikan took careful care to be precise with her magic circle. Putting the head under the head of the beast as close as she could. Putting the magic circle under the water directly under the bottom of the beat's head within the water. As soon as she did the gesture that created her magic circle, a purple crow 2 meters formed and began to flew to the head. In a swift motion it reached the target before bursting in a dark black blaze. Consuming the head in full as it exploded in a fire 8 meters wide. By now the ship was far out of the reach of this spell so Jikan had no thoughts of the ship possibly being hit by her magic.

Turning around Jikan would walk back to the middle of the ship, within seconds her black flames would burn the head to oblivion, not even leaving ash to be left. "Problem solved". At this point the wind was picking up, blowing Jikan's hair back with a lot of intensity. The clouds had darkened, the calmed waters had once again began to slush and swing. Not due to a beast, at least, Jikan hoped it was not due to another beast. "Not much calm waters today...".

For a moment there, Alisa couldn't help but turn her gaze back to Jikan... She had some vague notions about what manner of magic the redhead employed in battle, but seeing it up close. She had to admit, she felt a smidge of admiration there. Her crystal magic was awfully unique, and training herself to use it from a young age left her utterly unable to master different elements of magic. But now here she was, standing right before her, somebody who could freely wield not one, not two, but three unique elements. Even Sofia could only wield two. Really, only Kazimir could achieve a similar feat:

"Hmmm... Not bad~..."

Idly musing to herself as she watched the redhead out the corner of her eye, a soft smile curled on her lip as she admired what Jikan did with her magic, and she soon got the pleasure of witnessing not just one but all three of her magic elements:

"I suppose, if you have some simple way to reduce it to dust, by all means.", Alisa shrugged, knowing the limitations of her magic all too well. Earth magic wasn't exactly effective at completely desintegrating a target, especially out at sea. Some of her more powerful spells did that, but well... She couldn't exactly shoot them out willy nilly, and she'd just used it in the battle with the beast.

And even then, it didn't quite compare to what a spell could do if it had been specifically designed for that purpose. In the end, her fire magic delivered as advertised, completely incinerating the part of the carcass they weren't planning to bring back home. But between the time it took for the fire spell to vaporize the head and for the ship to pick up speed, she caught sight of the clouds growing darker:

"My my... That's an awfully powerful spell if you managed to brew up a storm this big~", Alisa teased, winking at the girl, a sardonic hint in her voice as she walked closer to here Jikan stood, hand on the side of the boat as she glanced around the oceans, feeling those waves growing stronger with every one they sailed over, splashing her until her hair and clothes clung to her voluptuous frame.

"It's alright!! Just hold on, we've sailed through worse storms than these! Really, you girls couldn't ask for better-"

SPLASH....!!!

It came out of nowhere. As the ship rose up and down with the passing waves, a massive wave soon towered right in front of them, already breaking right on top the ship, crashing down atop them with the fury of a waterfall as Alisa's widened eyes went blank, stunned and desoriented as she rolled around inside the swell alongside the rest of the crew. It was all she could do to hold on to the edge of the boat, gripping hard enough for her nails to almost rip out pieces of wood, taking a long, desperate breath once she finally surfaced and cried out to her teammates:

"Hold on...!!"

Moving on reflex, Alisa stretched her hand out, shooting forth a powerful, diamond hard chain, controlling it with magic as she sent it towards Jikan and each and everyone of the sailors.

Jikan

Jikan shook her head side to side at Alisa's comment. The flames of her dark magic gone now as the skul and flesh of the beast were gone beyond ash and dust. Jikan thought that that spell was powerful but not the source of this change in the weather. Perhaps it could have caused waves to move during the initial impact of the explosion and the blaze, but not to this extent over time. The water was getting far to harsh and there was also the sky. "Probably not. I don't think the shock wave would cause this much ripples in the water, and...the sky".

In the back of her mind Jikan thought that Alisa was just being playful, it was rumored that that was a big part of her personality after all. Still, given how Jikan was, she just gave a simple straight forward response given the situation at hand. Even if the voice sounded like it was teasing or sardonic. Jikan's eyes watched as Alisa walked by the side of the boat, her hair and body getting soaked as she moved. The ocean's waves washing and splashing against the side of the ship. Making the maiden's clothes cling and be tight to her as if it was a skin tight suit.

Jikan heard the sounds of fishermen talking, them trying to speak as the storm and water raged around them. Or at least the fishermen attempted to speak. A harsh splash came, coming sudden and out of no where. Her eyes sparkles with a dangerous excitement at the sight, the wave of water forming at the front of the ship, lunging up and on top of the ship and them. Crashing down as if it was gravity.

It rained down on them like a raging whirlpool, pushing their bodies with the first impact. Jikan's feet slide as her body moved without her choice. Only stopping when she slammed her feet down as she slide past a pole, struggling she fought against gravity as she grabbed the mass with her left hand then her right, holding herself in place as her hair clung to her face. The water continued to hit, a fishermen going flying by her being flung by the water. Reaching her right hand out she grabbed the man's hand and pulled him down. Using her strength to treat the man like a doll and pin him to the ground. Using her other hand to wrap and hold herself down as an anchor.

This was short lived and needed though. For Alisa soon used her magic, as she yelled out.

"Hold on...!!"

Jikan soon felt the material of chains touch her, wrapping around her waist to connect her, Alisa, and the many other fishermen on the boat. The diamond chain connecting to them at different points, some a leg, some a waist, some a arm. Anywhere that Alisa could get in this quick movement.

With a grunt Jikan gripped the man and pulled him close, to her chest briefly as she struggle to fight the waves. Soon putting the man to the large pole Jikan was holding as well before placing her left hand on his back as an extra level of safety. "If you don't want to die. Don't let go".

WORDS: 1970 | TAG: @Jikan | CASUAL

Alisa's brow crooked at her words, a little baffled by Jikan's response. Sure, the logic behind it was perfectly sound, she wouldn't argue that, except for the fact that it had been a joke. Even a powerful storm mage wouldn't have been able to do something like this so easily. In the end, she simply chuckled as she chimed back:

"Ufufu, you never know~"

Still, they really couldn't catch a break here could they? Even after having half their ship damn near swallowed whole by the leviathan whose carcass they now hauled around behind them, now here they were, staring that menacing, towering wave head on, giving them little more than a split second before that too swallowed them whole without the slightest semblance of ceremony. As the warm, tropical waters rushed around her sinuous shape, even a stronger swimmer like Alisa would have struggled if not for the binding chain tying her allies to herself. Once she'd got everyone save, she quickly clawed her way back on top of the capsized ship, stepping onto it, water cascading down her body as she brushed her hair away from her face and tied the chain around the vessel. Thankfully, the leviathan's carcass wouldn't easily sink, and with its size, it helped keep the vessel mostly afloat... As she looked back at it with a modicum of relief, it soon turned into a surprised gasp when she caught sight of an oversized fin not too far ahead:

"Oh dear, another one already? I suppose it's not surprising considering the chunky piece of bait we're carrying.", that moment, the prize they sacrificed so much to catch now became a liability as she looked back at the leviathan's remains with a frown on her face, part of her wishing she could cut it loose and save what remaining crewmembers they had... She clenched tightly to the chain as she helped reel it in, feet digging into the ship's wooden underside for as much support as she could find, trying not to slip off until at least Jikan managed to find her way onto it in turn, just as a loud, bellowing roar announced the creature's presence. Tch... Getting cocky huh...? Unlike the one they just hunted, this one didn't bother to conceal its presence, or go right in for the kill. Instead it merely swam there, circling the boat, waiting for a moment to strike. Alisa had to admit... Something about that kinda ticked her off so if that beast was going to play this game... Then she'd take the fight right to it, and give the crewmembers time to get to solid ground... Ish:

"I'll draw it's attention!!", she called out to the people at her side, once again produced those large, glimmering crystalline wings.

She couldn't really fly very high with wings made out of stone, no matter how light she made it... But at the same time, she could reach just high enough to stay above the waves, drawing closer and closer to the beast until it finally noticed her, opening its gaping maw in an attempt to swallow her whole... Only to get the kind of mouthful it wouldn't soon forget as Alisa shouted right back, a magic circle appearing in front of her mouth from which a whirling, spiralling storm of diamonds erupted, shredding through the creature's open mouth and forcing it back down in retreat...

Jikan

With more time, if, Alisa was going to get enough time and interaction with Jikan. She would soon learn that Jikan was very much of the logic thinking or straight to it type of person. And her mind and personality was similar to this. She could joke…even crack a good one out as well. But, when dealing with a mission situation, a fight, or the immediate aftermath of a fight in which she was attempting to handle an issue. Well, she just kinda glossed over any jokes. She was not a stick in the mud or dumb, far from it. But….sometimes her way of thinking made her miss people’s jokes. Especially if she did not know them and were unfamiliar.

With a slight shift of her eyes Jikan had seen  the grow crook on Alisa's face. At Alisa’ chime back at her though, Jikan did have a thought though. Yep….that was a joke.

If only what they were going through right now could be seen as humorous…. Half of the ship destroyed, the other half strained by the weight of trying to still function properly. Dead fishermen, and a body of a giant dead sea leviathan behind the ship as it strained and pushed forward to transport the catch. And now…waves upon waves were on them. Never ending in their crashing menacing dance as they slammed down and seemed to just pick itself back up and do it again. Not losing its momentum, its power, its wrath.

Thankfully the water was warm, there was no bone chilling wetness that came to Jikan as she felt her body become soaked. Hopefully it would aid the others as well as they were swallowed by the water crashing from above. No time to counter, only time to brace oneself. For the ones that were lucky.

Jikan was not much of a swimmer, but she did like to think that she had a strong core and powerful legs. Still, the crashing waves were still a bit much to deal with, especially with trying to hold on and down someone to protect them. Her height smaller than her companion in this event, Jikan’s clothes soaked and clung to her frame as her muscles tightened, tensed, and pulled and released. She did not say it out loud, nor did she think if she tried it would be heard over the noise. But, she was thinking that she was thankful that Alisa had used her crystal chains. With Jikan strength holding stuff down and with Alisa’s magic it seemed that they were going to make it out of this unexpected visit from mother nature.

Now if the ship could too…

“Good going”, Jikan spoke when she caught the sight of the black haired enchantress claw and step her way back onto the ship. It was calm….for a few seconds. After Jikan spoke she heard a gasp as Alisa looked back, towards where the fish carcass was. Has it been lost?

No…it seemed that another sea beast was here. Had it been responsible for the darkened sky and the roaring waves?? Either way, with the sight of the beast’s fin in front of them. They had to deal with it near them and possible in the way, if not aggressive. She spoke in response to Alisa’s first words. “Hmmm…it seems it liked the smell of its friend over there”, she wondered if this was the case or just a case of circumstances. Still the smell of flesh and blood in the water was a likely factor. Which case did not matter as Jikan got back onto the ship. A few fishermen were being carried in her arms and on her back. Just as a bone  shattering, water shaking roar was ringing through the air. Jikan put the tired and unconscious bodies down as she turned to the path that she had heard the roar come from. She saw nothing, nothing above water that is. The dang beast just swam in a circle, menacingly! As if it was playing a game…waiting.

Jikan refused to be anyone’s prey or plaything.

More of the fishermen crawled and clawed their bodies back onto the boat as Alisa yelled, saying she would draw its attention. Crystallized wings once again coming out of her bag as she took to the air. The beast slowly moved, trying to get the fishermen but failed as they quickly got out of the water. Either by their own efforts or by Jikan pulling them out before it was too late. A bit rough with their bodies slamming onto the ship, it was better than being dead though. Jikan stayed on the ship ready to guard any straggling crew members or to give out long range support. That was not going to be needed though. As the lanky beast popped its head out of the water in a roaring attempt to swallow the flying voluptuous black haired warrior. Alisa opened her mouth as well, quickly forming a magic circle in front of her mouth. Letting a blast out that shook the very air as it moved. Whirling, twirling, spiraling  a storm of diamonds forward, slashing, dicing, and shredding the creature's mouth. Breaking through the back of its head before making the rest of it minced meat.

Surprisingly the dang thing was not dead. But it was not done. Jikan could feel it move within the waves.

….IT WAS COMING FOR THE SHIP.

The beast roar as it lunged out of the water, flying into and traveling down to the shield. Jikan immediately turned to face the beast as it hovered into the air.  She jumped off of the ship, headed directly towards the beast. She extended her right hand forward above her, forward at the beast. Opening her hand before clenching. A 8 meter diameter brown magic circle created in front of her as well as under her, the exit path of the circle facing away towards the beast. In an instant, brown pieces of earth are formed, large pieces of rock before the rocks dense and change color into a magic substance. Shooting forward in a wide beam. The beam would travel and strike smacking into the sea beast. Jikan let out a warrior’s roar as she casts her spell.

At least they could find some solace in the fact that all of this had happened in warm tropical waters, absent the bone chilling cold all but making your clothes freeze as they cling to your body, heavy and cumbersome, making it impossible to move. Out here, at least, the breezy, summery outfits they all wore were comparatively easier to swim around in, even if not as much as a proper swimsuit might be. Alisa could potentially change clothes thanks to her ring, but instead of a swimsuit, the moment she stepped back on the ship, that magical aura enshrouded her captivating curves, instantly swapping out her wet, casual outfit with her bodysuit proper, far easier to move around in even when dripping wet like this:

"Indeed... But even if were to use it as bait, there's not telling whether it might want to have us for dessert.", Alisa added, not taking her eyes off the enemy, making the most of the beast's patience to plan out her next course of action, and who knows... Maybe even leaving enough time for Jikan to step back onto the capsized ship, "And more importantly... If we come back to shore with nothing but oversized fish bait and a fattened up leviathan. All those men will have died for nothing."[/b][/color]

Indeed, the way she saw it, the other beast had undoubtedly been lured in by the carcass. At least from what she knew of marine predators, most of them were opportunistic, and could seldom resist the sway of a free meal. Then again, she supposed even humans were like that at times. In the end, she and Jikan were of like mind in the matter here: Alisa too had no intention of letting the beast decide when to attack them, but rather:

"Should have thought about biting off more than you can chew.", Alisa sneered, thinking that for all its power, the beast wasn't particularly intelligent in challenging someone who were obviously capable of killing a creature its own size. Alisa's spell blew off a huge chunk of its head... She didn't think the beast could survive something like this, let alone still having the will to attack, but once again, it soon proved how there's nothing quite as dangerous as a cornered animal, "Look out...!!!"

Out of nowhere, the seemingly crippled beast made a last ditch beeline for the ship, faster than Alisa could react, stratling her with how a monster that big could actually move at such breakneck speeds. She darted right towards it, producing that gleaming black blade from her pocket dimension, holding it low as she soared, eyes narrowed with a fierce, resolute glare, teeth gritted, ready to cleave the thing in twain... But in the end, she was forced to dodged to the side as Jikan mounted a swift defense, earning a sight of relief when the beast finally fell:

"Well done on finishing it off, Jikan... To think it still had that much fight left. I suppose we'd best get to work on tying this one up. Guess we'll have enough fish to feed the whole island for a good few days~"
