Sofia had given her much to mull over. The merchant hadn't arrived in Myras at all huh...? From what that man named Jaren had told her, he was in no way related to the disappearances. Sofia believed him, and Alisa believed her in turn. But if he wasn't involved in any way, then who did it? That singular question weighed heavily on her mind... The only way to find the answer, was to find some travellers who had actually made the trip. And among them, some who had lived to tell a tale that nearly broke them:

"...Interesting... So this merchant who hasn't been the same since he arrived... Whatever happened to him along the way must be related to these disappearances.", mused the sculptress, her eyes firmly locked onto those few sheets of paper with information on the traumatized merchant, glancing towards the stairwell leading up the hotel, wondering when Daiko might show up, "I can't help but wonder what he'll find when he has a look around."

She'd asked Sofia to have Daiko come over to the lounge to meet her, so she could tell him all about their mission, and his part in it. While the sculptress kept piecing together each and every last piece, she'd need somebody else to follow up on this lead. She couldn't send Sofia twice, not when they still didn't know who they were facing. In the odd chance the mysterious enemy had somehow caught wind on someone asking questions about a missing traveller, well... That would have left them on the lookout for her in turn, and next time she made a move, they'd be waiting. Daiko on the other hand, had yet to involve himself, so he could enjoy some relative freedom to move around unimpeded as he investigated.

Daiko Flayme
Daiko came rushing over to the lounge while finishing his loaf of bread. After the two companies had made amends with each other, he had been invited to dinner at their places, and oh boy, for a town up in the mountains, they served great food. Turkey, ox, bacon, chicken, cod, eel and mild juice had filled Daiko’s belly that one evening, and he wouldn’t mind visiting them again for another meal. They served way better food than Orchidia, but the Fire Mage still leaned towards the food that Lee cooked back at the guild in Hargeon.

Too bad the sleep was… well, ruined. The beds at the hotel were unorthodox for him; clear, flat mattress, an actual pillow, the wide and fluffy blanket, it was all weird to him. He had obvious trouble sleeping comfortably, and that problem resulted in him finding himself face flat on the floor in the morning. It wasn’t funny to wake up like this - especially not this early. And there was no way that he would go back to sleep like this… so a deep grunt followed, while Coda found zero problem resting on the bed where he slept a second ago.

Hours passed by before Sofia called for him. Alisa wanted to talk, so Daiko quickly geared up in his room before opening the door and almost, almost hitting her with it. He apologized like a thousand times per second before rushing off to meet with Alisa, grabbing a loaf of bread from one of the workers for room service in the hotel.

And now, finishing off his last bite, he stood in front of his Guildmaster in his Elder Hunter’s Coat and with his gauntlet cladding his left wrist, while Coda rested on his left shoulder.

“*yawn* R-Reporting for duty, Ali…”

Alisa was glad he didn't keep him waiting long. She didn't really like waiting, or even keeping other people waiting, though in all fairness, in the state she was in she'd have probably not really minded much, oddly enough. So preoccupied was she

"Fufu~ Almost seems to me like you might need a coffee first~", winked the sculptress, pulling up the chair next to her and inviting him over to join her, "So... I don't know how much Sofia told you, but... I need you to check something out for me, if you would?"

Flashing him a calm smile as she took a little sip from her drink, Alisa waited for Daiko to take a sit, cooly crossing her long, shapely legs, draping her arms over the table as she sifted through the files and documents she'd read, written and neatly organized throughout her investigation:

"Since travellers seem to be disappearing before they actually reach Myras, I need your help to go and have a chat with one particular traveller who actually arrived in one piece, but hasn't been the same since...", her eyes narrowed, arranging the sheets of paper so Daiko could have a good long look at all the information Alisa had collected in the meantime, sparing them but a cursory glance before looking into his eyes, "...If you ask me, the reason behind the disappearances and this man's trauma are one and the same... Whatever he saw, whatever he survived... That's the same prey we're after."
