For most the amount of things that were going on here might have been considered overwhelming. Spells of great magnitude were being used right and left and the physical abilities of each participant were quickly called into question, whether it be speed, strength or just the ability to take a hit. She didn’t have to worry about her teammates; they could handle themselves. With kon being an at range powerhouse just as much as he was up close there was literally nothing that that fellow couldn’t do and while she didn’t know seika too well just from a few simple actions he also proved that he didn’t need coddling.

But that didn’t mean that she wasn’t going to ignore the actions of those in front of her with the rapid movement of the guild master mixed with the actions of erebus kicked her into a higher gear. It was hard to tell what happened first and what landed first; the overall pin pricks of magic against her? The slashing of her thighs that felt like bug bites? This form was impossibly durable. But with lucretia still in motion following Erebus’ avoidance of what her first pair of attacks surprised her. She actually hadn’t the clue that it was possible to phase through attacks.

Another thing to add to the list of stuff she hadn’t known and things that she’d have to look into after this. But momentum even if it was initially slower than needed kept on trucking; with her already being in movement it wasn’t hard to keep on that rotation, knowing that the other would be behind her the sweeping momentum of her fist, followed by her spear would shift the entire weight of the massive beast.

First it’d be the continued motion of that backhand, seeking and reaching for Erebus. While the spear itself would follow in short order. Arguably a simple attack that followed the same sweeping motions albeit faster than her earlier movements.

Odin †

~~Skipping Seika due to 48hrs passing since the battlemod ruling~~

Cornelia, Sigmund and Edward. Three high ranking, prominent members of their country's society. A noblewoman in Fiore, a Prince in Bosco, and a Councillor in Caelum. They had each become Bishops a long time ago now. Edward was the first, granted the Authority of Greed from Morrigan. A zealot since birth, one of the few that knew HER true name, his parents had been cultists before him, although neither had reached the heights of a Bishop. His powers were used to claim complete control over Caelum's finances. Every coin in the country, whether spent or saved, passed through him at some point, and a lot of it often found its way into his own pockets. He was Greed incarnate, and he had grown complacent.

Sigmund was the next, the youngest of the Bishops and easily the most aggressive. He was not devout, he didn't care who Morrigan was and he hadn't heard of HER until after the Authority of Wrath had been bestowed upon him. A pawn to be sure in the eyes of Morrigan, but a useful one at that. His abundant rage, amplified by the power, causes him to fight as often as possible. He lives outside of the capital, and very few of his siblings even know of his existence. Being Prince allows him a level of freedom that the monarchy would not often give, and so he avoided the recent political struggle for the crown. Let his elvish half-sister enjoy it. He was Wrath, and his anger had blinded him to the truth.

Cornelia was much like Odin. She found her faith later in life when she was saved by Morrigan. An ambitious nobleman tried to take her family's land, and SHE gave her the Authority of Gluttony to change that fate. No one knows exactly how the Giustiniani came to have so much power, no one remembers the countless enemies devoured by her power, except her. And now she was head of one of the most influential families in Fiore, a woman of great wealth and resources. Someone who loved the finer things in life. Her appetite was insatiable, her Gluttony voracious, but she had forgotten what it meant to be satisfied.

Odin was not complacent, he was not blind, and he would soon be sated.

------------------------------------------------------------

Kon, Lucretia and Seika had made a grave mistake in attacking Eternal Nightmare, and it was beginning to show that they did not know each other well. They had simply banded together for an 'attack', they were not a team nor were they disciplined. They were all the same. They could attack and they could attack. Of course, the natures of these strikes were different: it couldn't be denied that Kon excelled at range, Lucretia was a monster (quite literally) at close combat, and Seika was a powerful fusion of both, being able to attack from afar but also going toe to toe with combatants with his blade. But they all did the same thing. They attacked.

Eternal Nightmare was a guild, they each had roles they filled when it came to combat, and each excelled at their own form. None in the guild could match the awesome power of Achlys at range, none could keep everyone alive in the same way as Jin, none could survive onslaught after onslaught as much as Odin, and none could disrupt the enemies' plans quite like Erebus could. Odin could not ask for a better group to lead, to aid him in this attack and to strike back against his enemies. They had all fulfilled their roles splendidly, and now the fruits of their labours were beginning to show.

Bach, the summon created by Erebus, was locked in combat with Seika as Odin's dash brought him towards his foe. The Lich's eyes never left his opponent as his axe remained ready to strike him down. Although, it almost seemed like that wouldn't even be required. While Odin approached to one side of Seika, Bach was on the other striking him down. Prometheus was quick on the reaction to the summon, and had initiated their bout with some slashes from his mighty katana, but the water knight had no intention of going quietly. Grabbing Seika's blade with one arm, Bach would penetrate the neck of Sol's avatar, no doubt striking him down then and there.

Hardly a moment would pass between that interaction and Odin's arrival at Seika's location, with his axe primed and ready to deliver a strike across his body. Bach perhaps had done enough to defeat the knight, but Odin would refuse to leave that to chance. Two quick strikes, one initiated at the moment his dash ended and the other following the first in succession. Across the man's torso, the Troll King's cleaver collected its dues and screamed out its delight for all to hear. With this, the first of their foes would be defeated. And neither would find themselves equipped to stop the oncoming storm of Eternal Nightmare.

Achlys †

Achlys never imagined that this moment will come to her, the moment where she has to fight alongside her guild member against a bunch of people who claim their action as the action of goods. To fight side by side with her guild master Odin always feels like a dream for her, she never thinks that she will be worthy to stand next to her guild master as a comrades. Comparing her ability to the guild master, there is nothing much she can really do during this fight. She feels like she can’t be helpful for her guild mate during this fight. It’s such an honor for her to be able to fight with them, not just her friends, but also her enemies. All of her enemies right now also have their pretty big reputation around Fiore. To be able to see their abilities and their fighting skill right in front of her eyes is something she never really imagined, plus now she got the chance to fight against them.

As she arrives safely on her intended destination the view of the fight scene becomes more clear. In her current position, Achlys is able to see all things that happen in the fighting area. She is totally focused and aware of her surroundings and looking closely to find an opening where she can help attacking their enemies even with the tiniest damage possible. She notices how Seika is already defeated, it's too bad that she can't witness the moment that happened, it must be happening when she was doing her dashes to reach her current position now. But that will not take her focus away even for a snap moment since that is only one of many information she gains from looking at the battlefield. There is nothing she can really do right now unless being focused and aware of her surroundings and the battle area in front of her.

#54Jin Tatsumi

The Prodigal Son Returns [Caius] - Page 3 Empty Thu May 26, 2022 1:19 pm

Jin Tatsumi
Without the initial volley of arrows coming toward the paladin, he stayed where he was. Observant of the conflict around him. It was hard to believe that he had just come to this place and already he was thrown into life and death situations. He was used to having a certain amount of distrust around him, but never anything to those extreme. Heat still pulsed in the room from the fractions of seconds that spilled with magical power.

Having not moved, due to the first volley not coming, jin would launch his spells from that spot. Jin pulled his hand back to his hip immediately and his other hand pointed at Erebus like a finger gun, while he began to dash to the right.

Jin would quickly thrust his left hand forward from his hip. A magic circle appeared around the light mage and light shot forth from his hand, covering the distance toward Erebus and Luc in less than a second. An 8-meter diameter circle would appear around the two and erupt in Light. The eruption would heal any allies caught in the area by 1 A-rank and deal 1 A-rank damage to Luc and any other enemies within the range. One after the other, he fired the second spell, that would reach Erebus as soon as the eruption was gone. A 2-meter beam would hit Erebus and heal him for 1 A-rank worth of damage. Band-aids and Splints, along with white wind were cast around Erebus and Luc.

Healing light would wash over the area where Erebus and Luc clashed at. With those two spells launched back to back, Jin was already getting ready for his next spell, as Erebus phased through to stab Luc in the leg.

Jin rose a hand to his chest as the chaos was still happening. Everything happened so, fast it was almost easy to miss the short figure that was returning to the battlefield. The paladin thought it ironic that they stood on the side that some would consider evil and yet he was a healer with them and not on the side the government deemed as "light." How could a government earn trust, if all they brought with them was the ability to destroy?   He had a distrust of the nobles and the government, to begin with, but this simple thought made his choice to stand alongside Eternal Nightmare even clearer. Jin had his own agendas though and The guild he stood with fulfilled that more than any other.

He extended that hand outward towards Erebus and Lucretia. A 16-diameter circle appeared with them at the center of it. His ally was going against a monster of a warrior that towered over the rest of them. Jin wasn't about to let him go down. The spell would travel there in less than a second. In that time a Kon would be dashing towards the center of the room. Jin glimpsed the herald of arrows. If Kon had managed to dash after Jin's spells went off around Lucretia and Erebus, the paladin would finally use an ability he had been keeping secret. The muscles in the fingers of his outstretched hand tensed. He could feel the radiant light surging through his body. Tethered to it by some primal force. He swung his hand back towards him.

The 16-meter diameter light explosion rushed forward, targeting Kon from behind. The healing light would encapsulate the archer and race past him. The spell would deal 2x S rank damage to him, as Kon is a vampire. The moving dome of light would hit Kon by the time he reached Achly's original location. With Jin near the center of the room, Achlys was within the max range of his spell. The light illuminate the room and once it passed over Kon, it would bring healing radiance to Achlys. It was a far more aggressive tactic than he would expect from a ranger. As the dome of light traveled, Jin settled into his feet, ready to dash in any direction needed if things went astray and he needed to leap out of the way.

–  –
Cold stone pushed back against the weight of his heels. His light magic flowed freely into combat. Goosebumps dotted his skin beneath his long sleeves as he threw the healing spell in the direction he wanted. Even if it would fade at the end of its journey. Lifeforce pumped into his soul from its ability to steal from others. Every time it brought a sting of sadness in the recesses of his mind, thinking back to his long-lost mother. The tragedy his magic had caused her. And the reason he was in this guild here and now.

Dark robes flittered about the cinders of the guildhall. His allies in darkness. The more he fought alongside, even in this tiny glimmer of time, the closer he felt to them. No hesitation stood in their way. And it was as if his body moved nearly on its own to protect the people he joined with. Perhaps it was just his nature as a healer too.

During the battle, Jin would see one of the primary targets drop as the summon drove a weapon into the rune knight. The man had arrived burning as brightly as the sun, but the guilds might eclipsed the flames of so-called justice. One down and now the odds were in their favor. Jin knew his reserves were getting low and he had to make the most of every action he took next. Now was not the time to rejoice, even for large feats like taking down Seika. Battles and wars had taught the paladin all to well, the folly of pre-emptive celebration.

#55Erebus

The Prodigal Son Returns [Caius] - Page 3 Empty Sat May 28, 2022 7:01 am

Erebus

A bolt of light hits Erebus at the same moment Seika is defeated. This would conclude the old actions Jin wove with his spells. The Healer was a lifesaver and nothing could have kept Erebus alive like Jin had, those actions wouldn’t be forgotten anytime soon.

If it was a lucky break, or a fluke, it mattered not. Erebus was successful and so his instant reaction in the heat of battle is to continue going as if it didn’t happen, he thrusts his arm backwards to pull Bach out of Seika and to his defense.

Unable to track all things together would have been something Erebus denied later, but in this moment he wasn’t going to be able to evade Lucretia however the noise behind her steps was plenty enough to cause him to block albeit the damage was still going to hurt.

Throwing up two arms to create a cross guard with his forearms, Erebus blocks and prevents any catastrophic damage to his vitals or head without hesitation but the force alone was enough to make him move with the momentum before anything else came smashing down on top his location. The momentum of her physical strength was superhuman he had to commend it, however Erebus too was a superhuman in his own right and this wasn’t unlike the levels of force he’d suffered from before, his foot springs  off her her appendage she swing into his block with— propelling him 5m and out of immediate range in respect to his last known position.

In the same moment of blocking before the spring off, Erebus gestured arc motion with an extended arm— making sure his actions were congruent to each other and not happening one after the other. At best, you could say Erebus was now paying the highest attention to detail and control of his incoming Executioner.

Thankfully Erebus was a seasoned journeyman with his daggers, his reaction with his fourth arm— is also still available, and so if possible he would use his full strength to deflect the Spear and change it’s trajectory to miss his flesh, and deal damage his weapon. Maiden’s Voyage. The collision caused blue and golden sparks, in harmonic convergence with their item enchantment most likely.

With the collision of his Maiden’s Voyage Dagger, the cataclysmic deflection occurs meeting the spear to instantly. The advantage was equal— neither item broke, but it was clear that another strike to Maiden’s Voyage and it would shatter, Erebus knew his Iron Dagger could not survive a collision whatsoever due to this and would keep that in mind as the fight went on. It would take all of Erebus’ strength, to sustain a long game against this behemoth Werewolf. Thankfully, the combination of Jin and Erebus was doing decent in terms of difficulty for Lucretia.

Courpsemourn’s debilitating sap hadn’t been pressuring the summoner because he hadn’t taken too many movements up until this recent interaction but the feeling of it’s drain was present to the Summoner, he needed to relax his physical actions for a moment. To reflect those thoughts, he reaches the 5m distance just as Bach will be flying past his person mid-air, from here Ere wouldn’t have to move if Bach would find a success on Luc. Erebus and Bach were close as they passed each other, but they would not run into one another— rather the spectacle appeared as if they were “tagging-out”, with the change of opposition, it would hopefully be all the time needed for Erebus to catch a brief recovery.

Dragging his hand outwards, Erebus dances with his fingers. Deep blue flashing of a seal appears at Bach just right as he is closing in and a golden light all around them would surge through the Summoner and inbigorste the radius again. Erebus was not unfamiliar to that now, it was Jin’s spell and so that meant while he was boosted— Lucretia was burning in the light.

To be frank this time, the S-rank heal washing his wounds came as a pleasant surprise because Erebus needed exactly that— with his morale elevating, his serious attitude steadily turned into that of a confident one. With every movement he was adjusting to this speed, adapting to this danger.

Perhaps it was there at that instance of time the light subsided, that Erebus fully realized true power is in teamwork. Throughout this fight, his inevitable destruction would have been assured— had it not been for the strength of this guild. Erebus favored his guildmates, he wasn’t going to let them down by any means.

“Now finish this.” He muttered as his body and actions were occurring simultaneously... Perhaps only Bach could hear that, but he was closing in sharply and Erebus knew that the Knight was a fearsome ally. The Nightmare trusted his chances here today.

At the nearest possible moment ahead of anything else after the Heal spell, Bach would be at closing range on his threat, it swung forth with its weapon, his instant pose was the key and a straight piercing strike on the nearest limb would be powered up by his Bubble magic— the seals showing themselves if someone inspected well. Big Bang Bubble was a coating spell that Bach often would use to trap monstrous entities, it was on the sword now and Lucretia was his inevitable target now. In this moment, Lucretia may be shocked to notice her Yeti Brace had busted from Jin’s S-rank spell just a moment beforehand— slowing her ability to perform now at the climax of this interaction, perhaps realizing that moving her arm to block was going to be her best bet, it would also mean falling into the trap Erebus was hoping to lure her into.

It had to be extremely taxing wielding her mythical item without the relic, even if Erebus wasn’t aware of that being a key ingredient behind her engine. He would watch to see the event unfold before him and what happened between now and then could determine whether Lucretia survived or faltered. Erebus wouldn’t know the immediate result, but he hoped she would fall. 2/3rds of Erebus’ magical reserves were gone, and half his health-bar wrecked... Suddenly under these new conditions though, Erebus could turn the tides to his favor for good.

Ere was unsure how much more Luc had left in her gas-tank, but with Jin keeping Erebus conscious and to a level with her, the Dagger-master would fight on forever if so had too— trading up damage until there was no life left in his body or hers. That was the nature of the War God he was becoming. There was no shortage of attempt, however— he had to acknowledge that this was one foe he would have thought twice about fighting head-on in a 1v1. Naturally her resistances to pain were the undoing of a Critical Strike artist like Erebus. Next time they faced off, he would have to take measures for this Werewolf he hadn’t ever considered before.

The Art of War, was his respect to her.

During all movements and time throughout engaging Lucretia, Erebus retains full control around his summon with a free hand, this is assumably, where he makes Bach activate it’s spell (He hadn’t stopped moving Bach this entire time, only now highlighting a spell being cast), Erebus was ready to trigger his Limbo Overdrive if any series of adjustment or courses of alterations to his plans occur in the meantime.

Bach’s sword attack was using a Bubble Coating spell, however note that it wouldn’t materialize until the dash ends and thus the Heal would happen beforehand, this was brought on as Bach would move the handle of his weapon to it’s recently slashed chest. The motion during the dash and the sweep of the sword upon attacking radius would be done instantly to hit the tank, a glowing blue light emanates off the seal after the spells ignition. If successful, the spell hopes to deal water magical dmg & trigger a secondary bind that would spring up after initial damage calculation, this bonus bind was hazardous upon breaking and was a trap to damage and stun the Wolf on the spot for Odin or Jin to capitalize.

Whatever happened beyond his trap was yet to be determined— did she have the constitution to endure the trick behind this trap? Erebus watches, his intent was to win and despite actions taken— leaves himself the opportunity to react and adjust to his surroundings.

Kon

Rewind Time

A truly chaotic conflict that had ensued between Eternal Nightmare and Kon’s party, amidst the light shown from the flames, lightning, darkness, and light originating through parties on both sides. Kon’s own focus left him otherwise unawares of the Seika’s defeat at the hands of Odin, a feat that would have been a true spectacle to watch, but it would be something the archer would be missing out on. While Kon had been otherwise unsuccessful with the more direct strike upon his demonic opponent, he was left unmolested by his opponents as he launched arrow after arrow at them, which traveled at incredible speeds shredding away their defensive spell and bringing their armor aflame. He had only remained out of harm for those briefest of moments, with a stunning, brilliant light appearing below him, something which he had not been able to avoid in spite of its glaring presence. Unable to overcome, dash or otherwise avoid the spell he had found himself in, Kon could do little but adjust himself to where the assumed source had originated from, Jin; as he felt his bow crumble in his hands into golden dust and his armor disintegrated into nothingness.

A truly powerful spell and something to be feared, but recalling back to Jin’s limited reserves from his memory, Kon could only imagine that he was almost entirely out of mana. His educated guess had proved more than correct with them having less than a quarter of what they started with. Unencumbered by his hefty armor and both hands now free to use, Kon rushed towards the only purely human figure that stood against him, light in nature they were a threat but had revealed themselves as being a healer minimizing their threat substantially. With the haste of an eagle, Kon dashed towards Jin taking hold of their neck with his golden grasp clenching down breaking their windpipe and neck as his metal hand squeezed with enough force to bend the hardest of metals. Bringing down the injured mage, he pulled down their neck first bashing them into the ground. Shattering the wooden floor as the great force echoed around the source.

Effects

  • Indestructible: The item is indestructible.

Drawbacks

  • Speed: -60

Earrings

Name: Asmaan Earrings
Type: Earrings
Class: Legendary
Quantity: Unlimited
Element: Arcane
Durability: Indestructible

Bonus

Speed: +60

Necklace

Name: Everfrost
Type: Necklace
Class: Unique
Quantity: Custom
Element: Frost
Durability: 1x S-Rank

Effects

  • Frost Shift: The user may change the element of their item spells to Frost, regardless of the spell original element, the modifiers of the spells will also be changed accordingly. This requires the user to pay the base amount of mana for the item spells for the effect to apply. Therefore, any mana reduction that would normally apply to item spells cast by the user would no longer apply when the item spell element is shifted. This doesn't grant the user elemental synergy since it doesn't change the elemental alignment of the item.

Relic

Name: Millennium Eye
Type: Eye
Class: Legendary
Quantity: Limited
Element: Arcane
Durability: Indestructible

Effects

  • Power Scouter: When looking at a target, the user can see the amount of mana they posses and their exact distribution of attribute points. They cannot mention the number to others since it would make no sense to them, but the user can make perfect sense of the value they see.
  • Type Scouter: The user can see the type (Offensive, Defensive, Supplementary etc.) of a spell when looking at one, and also the elemental-type to which that spell belongs. The user can also see which type of mana a target possesses when looking at them (Fire, Water, Earth etc.).
  • Mana Seeker: The user can see mana with the Millennium Eye. Therefore, even if their vision is completely blurred or the target is invisible, they can still see the silhouettes of whoever that possesses mana. Depending on how much mana they possess, the silhouette appears brighter or dimmer.

Modification

Name: Ferion's Hawken Eye
Slot: Modification
Type: Eye
Class: -
Quantity: Limited
Element: -

Effects

  • The user can see perfectly clear up to 100 meters. This means that if someone is holding a note 60 meters away, the user can read it as long as the line of vision is not obstructed.
  • The user can see the trajectory of projectiles. The lines of projectiles (where they will land eventually) will appear as lines in their sight as they are moving. Should the user have enough time to react, they will always be able to determine where a projectile will land. This does not count for spells that can be moved around by the will of the user. Only static movements can be predicted where they will land. Imagine a baseball being thrown and you see a line in front of the baseball ending one meter next to your foot. Should you have enough time to react, you could still catch it cause you know where it will land. Or dodge it.
    land.

Nothing was ever certain on the field of battle; nothing would ever really prepare someone for everything that happened on it. It didn’t take a fool to notice that the hesitation or lack of action on Seika’s part led to his downfall; there was nothing that could be done from lucretia’s vantage to offer him any form of support. It was unfortunate that he fell; unfortunate further that it was a time and place such as this. But that wouldn’t cause any sort of alarm on Lucretia’s visage; if anything it’d wash over her and provide a small flick of her ear. Annoyance perhaps? It was hard to tell; but of the three people that stood in front of the eternal nightmare was torn to just two.

She could only imagine the sort of strength that Odin had to do something like this so quickly and with such steely resolve. But her own plights took precedence; her own battles took priority. She couldn’t offer anything to seika so she wouldn’t waste his or her own time.

With her blow landing against the other; she was happy to know that she at least was able to lash out. This entire battle had been a frustrating moment after the next of just trying to get into range to fight someone so far and with the limited amount of time blessing her she had to make use of it. But that happiness was short lived as she noted that Erebus not only blocked a good chunk of her attack; reducing its effectiveness. But he also used the mixture of his allies attack; which broke her yeti bracer. It would be frustrating to someone normally but Lucretia was something else entirely.

When the strike from Erebus rang out against her spear; it did one step further while she felt the multiple light abilities take further their toll. Her weapon broke in her hands from Erebus’ strike. Surprising to many perhaps yes, a stunning blow to her armament of course which was now reduced from her entire reserve to that of just her earrings.

There was no hesitation from her, no mourning period; nothing came from it other than her tossing the broken weapon aside. It would do her no good and she wouldn’t further mar it’s surface with the attempt. Her body shifted as the spell that had come from it was undone; reducing her down to just that of a simple Lycan. Though her fur color was a striking white compared to many’s browns or black fur color. An albino as described by many others; though the lack of red eyes was most prominent and the icy blues that Lucretia had were focused on the enemies in front of her.

She had three enemies in front of her and she had a purpose, a design and even further she knew that she could not just sit here and let them do what they pleased. Bach was moving forward, something strange on his sword. She wasn’t too keen on letting him hit her with that. But all of the damages from this fight soaked in one by one and she didn’t feel as though her body moved the same as earlier. Gritting her teeth the wolf would instead opt to block the sweep of the sword with her right arm and with her left deliver a thunderous strike to the summons’ chest.

Though the mixture of the blade and the ability that came hand and hand not only decimated her movement but also she felt the sinking sensation of her body not wanting to follow her commands. Her right arm was now useless and her last blow against bach had been taken away from her. Taking that pause to force her to break out of the bind. The explosion that happened in that instant was enough to knock her down that last peg. She felt the world dim for a moment as she started to stagger; looking as though she was going to fall from her feet and onto the ground.

She felt her breath grow heavy but something stirred inside of her; among the many things that she was capable of and among the long list of abilities she employed this was one that she barely understood. Only knowing that when pushed to her brink that she could instead push further still. She forced herself to stop falling and with a roar of determination would instead look to headbutt the summon with a full motion of her body . Gritting her teeth the werewolf wasn't about to let this fight end without giving her all.

"You're not getting me out of this fight that easily."

She looked worse for wear; her right arm hung limply and the look on her face was the sort you'd expect from a beast that was willing to continue fighting no matter the cost to itself. That being said... There was still a certain premise at least to her that she felt like she could walk out of here with a win and that thought on it's own brought a flash of teeth in a outrageously large grin on her face.

Lucretia was indeed the sort that derived a certain level of enjoyment from combat; even if it was against a group like this there wasn't anything stopping her from having a little bit of... Fun.

Odin †

For the first time in centuries, SHE opened her eyes. For the first time since her eight 'friends' sealed her away, SHE could feel. SHE had been hidden from the world, removed from their stories, with her spirit bound to the ancient Staff and her body hidden where none could ever find it. It would be some time before she ever reached her full power again, she required mana from her champion and the reunion of body and soul. But when that day came, and it was approaching sooner than any wished to acknowledge, everyone on Earthland would feel the trembling, the roar of HER power, and they would all kneel. Odin and his followers would usher in the new world, bring back the Old Magic. For Morrigan held power infinite, the world could change with a snap of her fingers. Cities destroyed, lives lost of course. But old countries could rise again, ancient magics could reveal themselves to the world. The old and the new, bringing about a utopia with Morrigan at its head. None could stop her, although many would no doubt try. And it would be the Midnight Cult, with Odin as its leader, and Eternal Nightmare as his commanders, that would stand in their path.

The Bishops had to die first, however. They had grown too lazy, and Morrigan no longer believed that they existed for HER purpose. Odin, who had seen the cult hide in the shadows for too long, agreed completely. They had to die, and oh what fun that would be for the world. A noblewoman, a prince, and the man in charge of an entire country's finance. Fiore, Bosco and Caelum would change forever after Odin finished his plans. They would be the first to notice that something was wrong in the world, but they would never truly know exactly why. They didn't know that Cornelia, Sigmund or Edward were Bishops in truth, were plotting their own advances as well as the return of Morrigan. No one knew the truth, even the Bishops didn't know each other's names. Only knowing of their existences was safer for all three of them. But now Odin knew of them, he knew all three of their names and their locations. He would find them, and they would die by his hands.

------------------------------------------------------------

Seika had fallen. The first of their opponents was down on the ground, down for the count and unable to contribute any more to assist the remaining two. The first to fall, and it wasn't Eternal Nightmare. The fight had been so close, so even, but now the dark guild was starting to pull ahead. They had the momentum, and it was up to them to continue it. Arguably their greatest foe had been defeated, all that remained now was the clean up. Lucretia, the great wolf-bear-creature-hybrid-thing. Honestly Odin didn't know if a word existed to describe what she looked like, there was definitely a mix of animals involved. But she didn't seem to possess any magical abilities. If her damage was purely physical, she could do nothing to Odin. Greed magic would absorb everything she could do, rendering her useless against the Lich.

And then there was Kon. One of Odin's oldest friends and yet someone who always seemed to stand on the opposite side from him. Grimoire Heart, Zagan, Bosco. If someone looked at their history purely from the influencing events they had participated in, they'd likely be confused as to why the Lich had been chosen as the archer's best man at his wedding. He wondered if Kon regretted that decision now, it had been so long ago, and so much had changed since that day. Everyone had accepted Odin's existence, even if they hadn't particularly appreciated it, but it was before so much. Before he had cemented his name as a Wizard Lord, before Morrigan had saved him and given him a new purpose. Before he truly became the villain he now was.

No time had yet passed between Seika's defeat and Odin's next actions. His thoughts whizzed by as he kept his mind focussed on the fight. It was ridiculous to think he had only been fighting, truly fighting, for a few seconds now, but it mattered little for the moment. It was time to continue the onslaught, time to take out his next target. Luckily, Kon was bringing himself in on a silver platter.

The Lich took a few small steps to his side as he watched the man re-enter the building, the bullet fired off from his previous location striking the bow exactly as intended. It did not break, but even without seeing its intricacies up close, Odin knew it didn't have much left before it was reduced to a pile of sticks and string. One of the most powerful bows in existence, and even it could do nothing against the might of Eternal Nightmare.

Another spell then activated, this one not from his bow but seemingly from his headpiece. What it did, Odin had no idea, but he doubted it would matter. His shield could nullify any spell, and his strength could puncture any wall put in front of him. Simply put, Odin knew he was unstoppable against his remaining foes. All he had to do now was show them that.

Odin had seen Kon dash multiple times now, he had a good idea of the man's speed and distance when he attempted it. So when Kon dashed a second time, now with his spell activated, Odin knew exactly when to cast his own. A fraction of a second to activate the spell, then a fraction more to put the Lich directly in his foe's path, his axe once more ready to cut straight across the man's torso. Odin had been expecting Kon to be where he was, but he doubted the archer had any such assumptions. The axe struck three times in a fluid motion, ironically the same number of times Seika himself had managed to strike Bach before the summon had been able to react. With the same confidence as the foe he had just vanquished, Odin knew his outcome would not be the same. He refused to meet the same fate.

------------------------------------------------------------

The eyes that had opened were now watching. The defeat of Sol's champion at the hands of her own, alongside the constant stream of mana from the battle raging on, had finally given Morrigan enough strength to see again. She could bear witness to the battle, she could watch Odin Morningstar vanquish his foes in HER name. And perhaps, if he succeeded, she could even use her power, building as it was once more to her old self, to grant him a gift. He who had returned a gospel and a Bishop's powers to her already. He who had been given a second life when all had seemed lost to him.

He.

The Lich.

Odin Morningstar.

Achlys †

How can I get here? How can I survive this far? How can I still stand here? Amongst all powerful people here, Achlys feels like she didn’t help that much, but she can stand here right now because of all her guild member’s effort. Getting helped and protected by her guild master is the reason why she can survive for this long. She learns how she can really put her trust in her guild master and her fellow guild member. The ability of her fellow members is truly amazing, without her knowing, all of them have a unique and powerful ability. She feels like she will need to learn more about the other guild members to really understand and be able to work together in a battlefield like this.

As Achlys focuses her sight on the battlefield she notices that Odin dash slightly to the side and gets into the line of Kon’s dash. Inside her heart, she somehow feels safer as Odin gets between her and Kon, as how Odin protects her from previous attacks, Achlys can really put her life in Odin’s hand. Achlys moves her attention to her other guild members, to Jin and Erebus. At this moment, if Lucretia gets back on her feet with the death tarot, Achlys cast a spell towards her. Achlys points her palm towards Lucretia and from in front of her palm and a four meters dark shadow shoots out from her palm towards Lucretia. If it hits, it will deal one S-rank damage.

#60Jin Tatsumi

The Prodigal Son Returns [Caius] - Page 3 Empty Sat Jun 04, 2022 10:59 pm

Jin Tatsumi
Down. The eternal flame was down, and already the heat that filled the room was subsided. Once again the Paladin and the Lich had faced down immense flames and emerged. Where he an actual religious man, one could infer some divine presence. Some fated meeting between the two or entwined paths that took them down this route. Both were forces for divine revelry. Nothing that made much impact on the paladin’s life, other than the fact that divinity seemed to spawn people ready to burn anyone they deemed as infidels.

The battle in the guild hall left crumbled bits of rock and debris. Flames scorched the ceilings and the tops of the walls, from where the blazing heat originated from, in the moments before Odin had nullified. A brilliant way to start the conflict which had been moving at the same pace as flames raging through a narrow hall filled with gas. Each second was squeezed for all it was worth. Every step they took was a milestone to the next fraction of combat. One that could topple the momentum of a charge or set a course for victory. The three had been bold in attacking alone, and the surprise shock from the rattling thunder left the members of Eternal Nightmare disadvantaged from the start. But nonetheless, they dug through and pressed onward. Unwavered but onslaught and vigilant assault. With one of the leaders of the invasion team down, it looked to Jin that they would become a force to be reckoned with in Fiore. A thought that would have caused the man to sigh, if he wasn’t still in the midst of battle. He didn’t want to be in the limelight and while he did have run-ins with the law, he didn’t want to end up being an enemy of the state. But it looked inevitable at this point. But what would happen if they actually won? If they really did defeat some of the strongest good mages in the land.

Embers still burned and a light shined through the tiny holes in the guildhall from the initial peppering of arrows that burst through. For some brief moments, Jin saw his allies as the elves that he fought alongside in the war. He could hear their screams and pain in the battles they had lost and the paladin was sure he would not fight alongside others that would fall prey to the same fate.

Erebus was still up and fighting and for that, he was thankful that, unlike in his past, he could make sure his ally stayed standing. Make sure that he stayed in the fight. Two of his slashes dug into the werewolf’s leg and hindered the mighty beast. Jin squinted as the man had phased through some of the moves. Erebus had a strange ability to become intangible to certain attacks. Between that ability and Odin’s strange shelled body, the two were juggernauts of frontline warfare, while Achlys was the artillery that directed enemies towards them. The battle formation all made perfect sense, and a strange harmony.

—--------------------Combat Related Stuff-------------------

Kon was just beginning his dash into the room when Odin had cut the man off. Kon would never have made it to the center of the room where Achlys was once standing at. Jin was already in the moments of casting his X-potion around Luc and Erebus. The extra push that would help them get through the battle and keep his ally standing for a little while longer. Just how much more could this lycan take in damage? The x-potion would hit Erebus and Luc at the same time as it originally would have. If Kon hadn’t been stopped by Odin, then Jin would have just dashed toward Luc and Erebus and evaded the quick-moving attack directed at his neck. A move that would have told a great story about the archer’s mentality in going for something melee-oriented. But given that Odin had cut the ranger off with a dash that eclipsed even the speed of spells, Kon would have to deal with that and wouldn’t be on the way to attack the paladin.

Odin engaged with Kon and the X-potion that Jin cast would still go off at the same time as before. The X-potion would still be directed with Luc at the center of it. The light would travel toward that location. Jin felt the rush of his healing magic surge through him. The spell would erupt in an explosion of light that washed over a 16-meter diameter area. The blast would still deal S-rank damage to Luc and heal Erebus by an equal amount. As soon as the spell had erupted around Luc, however, Jin wasted no time in swinging his hand toward Kon as the man still entered the building and was confronted by Odin. The Eruption of light would swing at spell speed toward the two engaged in combat. The spell would heal Odin by S rank damage and harm Kon by the same amount. Just as it would have done previously. Jin’s hand would still continue to swing and the eruption of light would sail toward Achly’s location. Even though Kon may have been stopped by Odin from attacking them, the light mage still intended to Heal Achlys’s just in case. And also to make the best use of his skills. Jin let his hand swing toward the blaster, but most of his attention was still on the battlefield before him. He was running out of viable spells to cast. His mana was dwindling fast. He could feel only a few quick options left to do, if anything at all.

Between the joint assault of Erebus and Jin, the Lycan's form shifted. Luc was not as tall as before. Their weapon cast to the side they were more akin to a normal werewolf now, but still with defined features, far set apart from the regular mythic creatures that howled to the full moon, on a dark night. And then, the seemingly unthinkable occurred. The titan of melee combat and lycan supremacy faltered. Resolve and injury gave way to a fluctuation in their step. But despite the grievous wounds that wracked Lucretia’s body….still the Lycan regained their footing. Jin stepped closer to the conflict that was happening in front of him.

He knew that Achlys was still behind him, by the throne and if either one of the invasion party broke free from their conflict they would head toward him or her. Jin dashed 5 meters closer to the conflict and stayed in the center line of the room, so that anyone that tried to pass would need to dash by him. He kept an eye on the two parties in conflict and held onto whatever reserves of mana that he had. As much as he wanted to rush in alongside them…he knew his position was best served hanging back and not wasting any of the precious mana that he had left. He put his hands up at the ready but was confident that his two allies in the front could handle the conflict. Should anything go off the rails, he would be ready to pepper in another heal if needed. Or worse…get into melee

—------------------.

The X-potion would have swept over the battlefield and given Jin life from the enemies that it harmed. He felt the presence of his mother in each one. He could understand why the magic had the drawback that it did. He was able to save lives. Many more lives than the cost of the magic. And perhaps that is the way it would always be. Taken life from others to restore his own and those that he chose. A deadly affliction. He envied the healers of the world that didn’t have to live with the death that he had caused.

And it was in the concepts of death that he felt a kindred feeling toward Lucretia as they valiantly stood back up to keep fighting. If nothing else, despite all the damage and wounds that had piled up…they kept on fighting through. Taking blow after blow…until a similar feeling of mastery over death kept Luc on their feet. A similar blessing that favored the paladin. It was also one that was sad to see. Jin knew what he had endured for that blessing to be bestowed on him. And he knew that Lucretia, true to their actions today…would keep defying death, just like the paladin. Lucretia was a tank that could absorb blow after blow. Jin was a healer that kept himself standing. But they both endured one punishment after the next as their strategy. All for the sake of moving forward.

And just like in the rest of this conflict. It was all for the sake of moving forward. Whose determination would take them further? He was still at the ready, but his clenched fists opened up, taking in the battle and the blood spilled on the ground. And what came to his mind at that moment…was how many potions Erebus would need after the battle was over.  Until then he would only relax once the final blows had been dealt.

The throes of pandemonium had come for them. And it begged the question…how did they find the time to band together in a joint assault against them? It was clear who Seika was working for, but what about the other two? Was there a guild that was coming after them, that they would need to deal with? The paladin was curious if they would have the chance to interrogate one of the invaders before all was said and done.

Actions and Spells:

#61Erebus

The Prodigal Son Returns [Caius] - Page 3 Empty Mon Jun 06, 2022 8:17 am

Erebus

Erebus was breathing heavily, when the bind landed against Lucretia, Erebus cough blood that slid down the front of his face. It decided the floor in a color that wasn’t red, but yellow or gold— his pupils shook as the courpsemourn took it’s bite out of his vitality.

The explosion of water was magnificent and loud, and despite everything Erebus was still looking forward at the beast, who had deformed to it’s base state. Using the moment to throw off Bach— it rammed it’s head into the knight, evaporating it.

Achlyss appeared to shoot a blast of magic towards Lucretia that she would be unable to see coming. However, if Lucretia had some kind of sensory for it and it missed it’s target, Erebus would use the moment to end it all.

Erebus groaned, pushing off his feet with superhuman physicality. He took a lunge only after the blast would ignite against the wolf or he’d intercept from wherever she tried to dodge from, essentially cornering her into her deathtrap—it was presumed that Lucretia’s head would be looking down at the floor and her stamina just as low as his own as the collision with the summon occurs and everything was still moving at monstrous intensity.

It became clear to him that he would have to finish her on his own if she clung to life even now, at the risk of everything else he would make that stand.

Erebus had never before seen such a tough opponent— especially in a Werewolf, able to survive round after round of S-rank bombs, blasts, or mighty superhuman stabs from his own being. She was on a level that few contended with, Erebus finally resolved. However, the combination of Jin and Erebus was a wrecking ball that held it at bay, Odin alone was the mightiest and responsible for their defense, and Achlyss was a monster with magic that ignited the entire halls in purple destruction and hellish souls.

Making his way back into the short distance, and without fear of anymore Assegai, Erebus would swing every appendage into her, letting his daggers gnaw and tear at her arms— even if he was sent back in some mighty strike, he would attempt a bobbing and meeting her with dagger— just further stacking damage on top, his maneuvers were highly efficient and matched his mastery rating.

If her arm was thrusted outward, his motive was to use his full momentum to slice her to pieces on his way in.

Erebus moves with pinpoint intelligence to find vitals in her neck and kidney. Every stab would be placed timely with haste. He would carve the beast up as she had never felt felt wraith quite like Erebus’, it was akin to a true assassin with his arms slicing many times in a blur of rushed speed… even his fists throwing mighty straights; only changing their path if Kon had tried something sneaky, all of this was until Lc was down.

One thing that was certain. Erebus had every intention of fighting Lucretia again someday. If it hadn’t been for their trump card in Jin, he was certain there was little he would have been able to do against the wolf-tank.

Erebus had one prime advantage that would likely win him the battle here, Lucretia appeared to redirect already and had lost her forms, lost quite a bit of her size, and their strength levels were no longer far off. Even if she somehow did grow again, Erebus had applied his utmost momemenum. She would feel every bite of damage until there was no consciousness left.

After she would fall, Erebus would fall to his knee, he awaited Odin and Achlyss to finish Kon. Erebus gripped himself to a conscious state but the mix of emotions left his whole body wobbling. If the coast was clear and all challengers were finally defeated, he’d quickly unhook his cloak— trying to get it far away from his body as it continued to feed on his life force. It’s powerful ability was a sin— so the user could not resist this drawback currently— the best route to take was to separate from it for awhile, otherwise he would continue to feel a sickening agony that steadily rose.

He finally emits words, only after all the chaos was finished, and after he was sure Kon was down and Lucretia was out. “That was high stakes, exciting sure but…” Erebus threw forth another glob of his blood, watering his eyes, and his hand fell to the ground to hold himself up as his lungs burned hot; he forced himself to breathe through the pain. “Difficult.” He finally retorted. “I think I’m finished using magic, for a good long time.”

Erebus stared at his dagger which was on the floor. He smiled half beaten to death and back, remembering the days he was just a boy sent off for the Dragon Book. Just a lowly underpaid thief, and now? He was a force alongside a force. He was a part of history— and the story of today, alongside his mates… It would be remembered for all time.

Somewhere deep inside of his being, he could hear another. Some sweet feeling that seemed buried under his physical pain. The War God itself whispering it’s congratulations to it’s own champion. Perhaps Erebus was not tied to light, or to dark at all, but he was chosen in his own right too. And as grace would have it— he was right where he was suppose to be. Fate having claimed it’s own divine intervention for Odin’s warriors. For with every member who fought for him, it was no secret that they would all acquire reputation, bounty, and renown. Perhaps Eternal Nightmare knew all along what they were capable of, and wished to wait for their own attack. Turning the people of Fiore against the kingdom, it was bad taste for a Kingsguard to do what he had done. However, in Oak? This guild was beloved, and it stood its ground. Nothing more was left to say, other than that the Dark has amassed a threat worth revelation.

Erebus places faith in all of these guys, especially his guild master.

Kon

Rewind Time

The conflict that had ensued within the fight between Eternal Nightmare and Kon’s assembly had highlighted clear weaknesses that he had largely ignored or at least tried to ignore. Ever since that fateful day of losing his magic he had been trying to overcome that deficiency and the destruction of everything he attained in that period in those short moments just revealed that he needed to do something more than rely upon powerful items as crutches. Recovering any form of magic would be critical if he wanted a chance to actually be able to defeat Odin and his pose. He had been naive in this assault and he would be punished for it, how was hard to say but it wasn’t something he was looking forward to. This was swiftly made apparent when his efforts to attack arguably the weakest of his opponents were thwarted by the very man he had come to defeat.

Right in front of him, the lich put himself in his path hoping to clearly put the archer down before he could even touch the paladin. Despite how heavy the axe he was wielding looked they swung it with the same effort required to throw around a feather, it was truly awe-inspiring to see but Kon would not just take the assault laying down. He had something left in his quiver so to speak something that would prove to hinder the aggressive lich, a prosthetic arm that had stood the test of time, taking blows that would flatten mountains without leaving the smallest of dents on the golden appendage. It had only been Lucretia’s Assegai to have finally left a scratch on the arm.

Something he could denote as a piece of their history together and an acknowledgement of her progress as a mage and warrior. This seemingly indestructible piece of equipment that remained as one of the few things in his arsenal would hopefully service him enough to leave a mark on Odin. No matter how swift someone was with their strikes using such a large weapon would commonly lead to a lot of telegraphing something which he would certainly take full use of. Breaking mid dash, Kon felt the bitter and sharp sting of Odin’s axe.

Preferring not to be cut down, he immediately shifted his body to cover his left side behind his arm as he felt the various strikes thump down upon his golden arm, they were certainly terrifying but shared the same pattern as each other and seemed to rely upon the first hit him to stun him metaphorically speaking. Were he to be watching the fight from another point of view, Kon would clearly see chips linger upon his arm through his eagle eye, but these weren’t golden flakes but rather those of Odin’s axe as its harsh edge warped with clear divots being left behind. And yet the axe itself remained otherwise undamaged.

While he was certainly smarting from the bleeding wound that stretched from his left lower ribcage to his right upper ribcage, Kon would be unrelenting in his attacks against Eternal Nightmare, however perhaps not in a way that would seem the most logical given he was already facing an opponent before him. He had to try and take out someone and clearly he was at a disadvantage to try and cast a hand down upon Odin. Perhaps hoping that his blocking had confused the man even slightly. Kon would attempt to instead retreat from someone who he once seemingly called a friend. He was said to have been Kon’s best man for a wedding but he had no memory of such an event or even who he had married in the first place.

It was just one of the reasons why he had developed such resentment towards the lich, with him previously reportedly being affiliated with the very organization that had torn what memories he had with the man. Those were some truly strange times and the experiences he felt during them he continued to live with to this day and he placed some of the burdens upon the man who stood right in front of him. Even if he had no hand in tearing apart his previous identity, purely being with such a group only showed that he was beyond approach with the archer. He did have something up his sleeve fortunately untouched from the magic that had destroyed his armour, or more specifically in his hip pocket. A token of their shared past where it all began, something he had held onto for perhaps too long.

Amidst blocking Odin’s continued assault, Kon withdrew his original skull using his free pocket, and dragged it across the wound he had just received coating it in the very blood his former friend had just spilt before dropping it causing a resonating clink as it touches the ground. Perhaps it would be something that would go unnoticed during all this chaos, but it may serve at least as a bit of a distraction from the intimidating skeleton. Enough to potentially allow him to dash back in a few bounds to where this whole conflict had started. He doubted that the Eternal Nightmare ensemble would be so lenient as to let him escape, but he’d had to try, they were defeated and him remaining would only lead them all to fall to the harsh punishment that they’d be facing due to their shared amassed contracts.

If he could just find a way to get to a door, he was safe but that was not going to be an easy feat that was sure especially given the guild hall’s vast and open space. An obstacle that would be challenging for those without the clearest of vision, particularly given the smoke that had begun to flare up around them. Something always came with the growth of flames slowly destroying what had been a fine room. Certainly not his taste, but he could understand the appeal of it and by extension the Guildhall itself as a building.

Or dodge it.
    land.

Saturn
After her aura of death had activated Lucretia was on borrowed time, if they were able to take her down from her ‘tallest’ what was stopping them from taking her down further? After dealing with bach there was very little left in her gas tank to the point of where she felt numb. The shadows from Achlys struck her body unimpeded; barely making her flinch. Her entire body was practically numb to the pain, she could feel the aching of where they had struck. She couldn’t run now, she couldn’t use an arm. She felt one of her legs barely twitching.

So that’s how it is.

It was heart wrenching in a way she couldn’t have fought them in a more effective manner but this was one of those times where the fact she fought against them at all meant something. She hadn’t given up; she hadn’t stopped moving forward and a flash in her eyes meant that even with her being on her last legs she barely thinking of running; barely thinking of giving him. She’d take a single step; the smile on her face spreading as her form shivered.

Oh did it not matter to her that she was this close from defeat; it didn’t matter that she could taste it on her lips. That it was spreading through her body in a sour and spiteful way. Her spirits remained just as high as coming into this place. She felt that numbness spread as that light spread over her body. She could feel the darkness swelling through her body and the woman felt the daggers of the other cut into her.

She was already out the door at that point; the pain flashed but it was dark like everything else. The one good leg she had buckled and she’d stumble. She could feel her strength draining quickly.

Heh…

The last chuckle that rolled out of her ended when she landed facefirst on the ground; empty unconscious eyes as she lay face first on the floor. A plain smile still on her face. She had come here for a few different reasons but the one that meant the most to her was…

The fight itself.

The Prodigal Son Returns [Caius] - Page 3 Empty Tue Jun 14, 2022 12:27 pm

Odin †

Perhaps it was the work of Morrigan herself, or perhaps Odin had finally learned how best to combat his foes, but the Lich felt strong. Stronger now than he had ever been. With every defeat he had suffered, and there had been many, he had learned. From his loss to Caius, during his days training with Grimoire Heart, he had understood how to utilise his spells and use his enemy's movements against him. His loss to Alisa showed him the limitations of Lucifer, and prompted his descent into undeath. Even Kon, who killed Odin the Lich when he refused to fight back, reminded him where his true loyalties laid. And Shichiro, the greatest defeat with the largest ramifications. Losing the the wolf had given Odin more confidence in his abilities, confidence that he now brought forward with every decision he made, both in combat and outside of it. And it was always building, always growing. The limitless potential of Odin Morningstar had started slow, but it was beginning to overcome the abilities of his foes. Many were people whom he could have lost to had the circumstances been different. But today, on this evening as the rain poured down around Eternal Nightmare's guildhall and the great city of Oak, the circumstances had put Odin and his group in a favourable position to end this fight without losing a single member. Whether that would be the final result was still hard to say, as no individual fighter could ever be truly counted out in this onslaught. One still remained, after Lucretia and Seika had both fallen. The one who had started this invasion, the first to arrive, and once one of Odin's closest friends.

He would show him no mercy.

Odin felt his axe strike deep into the flesh of the childlike body, a large gash unleashing swathes of blood. No one would survive too many of them in a row, and Odin was well aware Kon knew that. The Lich felt like he knew most of what his old friend could offer, he was always someone that Odin kept tabs on: wanting to know what he was doing, where he was going. It was made much easier by the reputation and fame that the archer had everywhere he went. Even changing his face did little to affect how well people could recognise him. And that arrogance caused Odin to miscalculate how simple it would be to take him down. The second strike, aimed for the exact same location as the first, was met with resistance. Under normal circumstances, the resistance would mean nothing, the Troll-King's cleaver would slice straight through it and find flesh. But this was no ordinary appendage Kon used in his defence. For whatever reason, it stopped Odin's strike. He didn't damage it at all, it was the ultimate defence, perhaps even stronger than Greed magic itself. His old friend had spent the entire fight keeping that final ability hidden. In a way, it was to be commended, but Odin wasn't going to waste time analysing it. His axe was already rising for the third strike, unable to adjust the momentum of his axe-arm in time and understanding it would collide with the arm once more.

However, Odin was not limited to merely his right arm. His left, equally strong and completely free, came forwards in a quick jab to the man's chest, avoiding the indestructible arm even as the axe came down upon it. Kon had one defensive option, Odin had two ways to be offensive. Simple maths worked in favour of the Lich, and just because the shield rested upon the dark mage's left arm, that did not mean it limited his ability to attack with it. His right had been instrumental in defeating Seika, and was now swiping at Kon. His left had not acted since he had nullified the spells from his opponents, actions that had occurred mere seconds ago but they felt like lifetimes. It had space, it had time, and it had no intention of wasting either. Even if it wouldn't leave as large a mark on his foe as the axe, there was more than enough strength from Odin's fist to crush the man's sternum, perhaps even break a few ribs.

Achlys †
The battlefield is still heated up, even with Seika and Lucretia down from the fight, it still not over yet. The fight in the Eternal Nightmare guildhall is still going on. It’s an intense fight between Kon and Eternal Nightmare guild master, Odin. From Achlys’s position, she can see what going on in the battlefield with no problems at all, since she is far from the fighting area, all section there can be seen clearly within her view, it’s including Odin’s dash towards Kon. Punches are thrown, some are blocked, those two strong people fight each other face to face and give their best to fight for what they believe in. It makes her feel excited and amaze the whole time, filled with the will to help but also scared to interrupt her guild master Achlys decided to observe the battlefield and learn from the fight she can see right in front of her eyes right now.

Jin Tatsumi
------PLOT-----

The battle neared its conclusion. In what finer details that would lead to. The Werewolf had been put on assault from the odd and surprisingly effective combination of Erebus and Himself. The man fought as a war god possessed. The injuries barely caused him to flinch and it seemed as Jin pumped in more heals, the man no longer needed to fear pain as much. With a few quick moves the titan had been diminished to a normal werewolf and then the end finally came for thier mammoth foe. Not to be underestimated. The being known as Lucretia was a lord among Lycans and a tank of pure endurance. Luckily the heals were able to sneak through the otherwise impregnable hide. A strange aspect that even Jin hadn’t been aware of from his magic until this moment. It made the darker nature of his magic feel more insidious than he thought before. But he couldn’t deny that help that it provided in such a devious way.

Even in this dire moment though, Jin cocked his head as he saw a strange reaction. A smile that swept across the face of Lucretia. The beast was still…happy. Could it really have been the fight all along that they wanted? The werewolf had been less abrupt in their reason for being here. And in seeing that expression now, the paladin wondered if the werewolf was really good or bad, but rather just enjoyed the thrills of combat. And the promise of living to fight another day. An odd thought that out of all the assailants today, it would be the hulking werewolf that Jin felt he could talk to more than the others. Thoughts for another time as the other battle raged on nearby.

Jin’s attention had been split between the two areas of combat. His focus stayed on maximizing the amount of mana he had remaining and keeping a close eye, to see if he could hit them both with anything. Similar to the X-potion spell. He had spent the blink of an eye, in stone-cold observation now that Kon had been intercepted. Quickly calculating his moment to launch the next spell.

The embers still burned softly in the after glow of combat. The ceiling flags, burned free at the frayed edges and drifted down to the still cold ground, that the fire was prohibited from reaching. It was still hard to swallow that he ended up in this mess. He had been on the run before, but usually on false charges. Now he was an accomplice to the assault on guild mages. Albeit, maybe he could make the argument that it was self-defense. With a rune knight here though…he couldn’t help but feel that the king or nobles had to sanction such a violent attack on a guild. Trying to shut them down, before they could do anything. And indeed perhaps even before the guild had committed a crime. Justice before criminality. A dangerous road to go down. One that Jin had no inclination to toil around in his mind for too long. He would stick to his path no matter what.

With Kon held at bay, he could rest easier knowing that he and Achlys were safe. Quilla wasn’t here, and although it would have been nice to have her at his side. He was glad that she wasn’t a part of this dangerous altercation.

The final remnants of mana swelled within the mage. He could feel the presence of his lineage in the magical veins that coursed through his body. She had given her life for him to be able to use it. The closer his reserves came to depletion, the closer he felt to his family and the curse that had taken hold of them for more generations than he could know. He could only hope that when the time came, the transference wouldn’t feel the same.

—--------------Combat Related—----------

Kon clashed with Odin. The first strike ripped into the Archer’s body. As soon as the blow was launched, Jin brought a hand to his chest and thrust it toward Kon. The archer had been the most devious of the bunch so far. While Luc was a straightforward threat. Kon proved to work some sneaky angles that would prove dangerous in their own right. And with the man cornered from the destruction of his armor, who knows what other tricks he would have up his sleeve. So Jin didn’t take the risk and with that thrust forward of his hand, a magic circle would appear around his feet. Another magic circle would appear less than a second later around Kon and Odin, who were about 15 meters away now. The pressure from Odin would by the spell time to reach his target if Odin wasn’t able to down the man. Odin followed with a flurry of two more slashes. Jin’s eyes narrowed as his spell traveled when he saw the mighty blows that had ravaged the archer’s body before, now were stopped by a simple arm. Sparks skidded off the collision with Kon’s arm unscathed by the collision. It showed just how much farther Jin needed to train and prepare to truly be able to help all those around him.

The spell erupted and amidst it all, Kon had reached into his coat to toss something into the battlefield. But it wasn’t a bomb or some overtly offensive move. It was a skull. A skull of striking similarity to the guild master. Offensive in its own right, and showed just how deep the history between the guild master and the assailant was. But the light spell was already loosed and exploding around the two of them.

If Kon managed to dash away from the spell, Jin would flick his wrist after the Archer and send the 16-meter diameter explosion of light after him. Assuming the man’s only real way out was to dash through the doorway, it would trail with him, faster than the man could dash. The same tactic he had used to hit Luc and Kon with the X-potion mere moments earlier. The light bomb would deal S rank damage to the archer and heal Odin by an equal amount. If the Spell struck true, then Jin would also feel a surge of health from his ability to steal life from others. As the spell left his finger tips, so did the last remnants of his mana pool. Fatigue set into his reserve of energy. The combination of Odin’s punch and the new spell attack should be enough to fell the ranger.

—------------------------Plot—---------

Not since the war had he felt such a depletion of his mana. The constant battles of war in combination of healing and harming, had left him with many weary nights. Nights that he gazed up at the stars with no power left to mend his own wounds. This battle was more dangerous than many of those he faced in the war. Every second hung in the balance. His reserve of magic was fired out in rapid succession, testing the true bounds of his prowess. Despite the damage flooding in against them, they all managed to stay up. It was almost hard to believe. And yet, something still nagged at the back of his mind. That thunder from earlier and the abrupt disappearance of his ally Hitomi. Not to think on it too much, ashe barely knew the woman. But He figured there was someone barrier in her mind that turned away from the fight. Something that made the thought of who all was connected here, more plausible. And increased his fear that people would remember him. His life was easy slipping into the darkness of low reputation and staying far away from the limelight.

Erebus

Erebus had shakily stood back up to his feet; his bleeding knuckles, fusing with a golden luster palmed what one could only assume was the last of his willpower. He looked up to see Lucretia’s unconscious body, smiling there on the ground. He offered her his own, and nodded, his eyes lingering up to Jin and then Achlyss, and back to Odin who was currently punching forward towards Konstantin’s sternum. Erebus wasn’t normally one to leave others to finish on their own. However, Erebus also never knew how it felt to teust others.

In the years he’d known Odin, Erebus had started with trusting him so little, their ties had began as leader and foot-soldier. That was because of the horrors Zagan had shown to him, casted him into. Only for Odin to embrace that entity, but as time went on... Erebus began to see his Lich Overlord with a new insight. There was humanity in there, deep and buried. Human drive to conquer adversity, and what Erebus needed to learn was how to take orders and make magic out of nothing but the shared ideals they both felt. Odin captures the hearts of the lonely children of chaos. Erebus hadn’t noticed it until today, that he too, looked at Odin as his friend, and not just his leader.

Throughout the time Odin had known Erebus, he’d asked him to back him on Impossible Missions against the Bishops, even now they stood together warring against Light in their own home, the Tower... He finally knew one thing for certainty. Erebus was willing to die for his Unliving friend who gave him this home to start with, when the entire nation itself and the Demon Zagan who put things together, reduced his reputation to nothing. There was cold-bitter nights where booze and other forms of harming oneself were nothing, but the days when someone gave him a reason... His role. He felt nothing but the sheer gravity of his own beliefs. His integrity to remain loyal to one person, and in turn feel that vibration in the hearts of other guildmates, it fired the Summoner up.

He found his own words piercing over the sound of fire and flames that ravaged their walls, to which had ignited the room in beautiful orange embers that licked and frolicked with their shadows. His dagger extended to the ceiling and and he brought it down to point at Kon. “Odin!” His words rang like the final bells of hell themselves, dragging and echoing to the Lich. Then as if on cue, the entire map lit up in Jin’s magnificent insidious light. “Truly, you are what Nightmares are made of,” and with every word, Erebus hoped to feed the Lich from beyond that light, the motivation to end things here and now; once and for all. The first battle of War towards Morrigan’s resurrection. The energy that would hopefully be the last vigor from Erebus, to put Kon down— whether Jin or Odin’s power was the last hit, Eternal Nightmare was one family, all allies, and unshakable before it’s enemies. Now and forever more, the Eternal Nightmare.

With his dagger in hand, he would be able to react to anything that changed and threw a surpsieball, but with the last seconds of the defense underway. Erebus knew that his allies needed nothing more, so he assumed his spot on the map, coughing at the last moment once more when the light would flicker out and reveal the contents of whatever transpires, or the aftermath itself.

The Prodigal Son Returns [Caius] - Page 3 Empty Fri Jun 17, 2022 11:19 pm

Kon

Rewind Time

Mouth open agape, Kon could say nothing much less breathe as he felt his former friend's coarse and unyielding punch tear through his chest as though it was a knife through butter. The hardened bones of his torso either gave way or broke as he felt the skeletal appendage penetrate and puncture his lungs before touching his still-beating heart. An almost half-smile grew upon Kon’s bloody face with crimson leaving his mouth, nose, and even ears as he realised just how powerful the man before him had become in the time since they had last seen one another. It was something he always grew fond of seeing the development of people regardless of where they align, perhaps a naive point of view but it was one he clung to as power was one of the things that he truly respected at this point.

And this fight had earned Odin, Kon’s respect, his enemy to be sure, but it didn’t mean he couldn’t respect the man. In his last bouts of energy, Kon struggled to unsheath himself from Odin’s grasp, only to fall to one of his knees dazed and confused. Vision slowly shifting from vivid hues to nothing but saturated red and blacks, he knew he didn’t have long to linger in there consciously. This was truly illustrated as he began to fall to the ground, only to be met with an entirely different surrounding. Cheerful voices echoed in his head both of his own in a deep octave and another, a woman’s voice. They spoke of a future together and the downfall of the old king. A long-lost memory it had seemed with his vision being somewhat obscured from a white, almost cloud while a filter dampened all of the harsher colours. A more pleasant time to be sure as Kon looked around recognizing his manor littered with clothes befitting babies rather than himself or the woman who was echoing in the hallways.

It was an odd sensation to be calling out the name of someone you no longer knew without feeling your lips even moving but this was a memory that he could see himself wanting to relive over and over again. Kon’s newly found optimism would be short-lived as he recognized where he really was as debris hit the side of his face bringing him back to the guild hall sent ablaze by him and Seika. The heat and flickering light were felt only for the briefest of moments as Kon’s face began to bounce back from the ground as he slipped once more into his long-lost memories, now however something far less pleasant. A time when his home resembled the destruction that the guild hall was now left with. It was a memory that he had long thought lost to the ether, that of him being kidnapped by the midnight cult and being separated from who he was and who he had become.

It had started like any other day following the holy war when everyone was becoming comfortable with the peace. A naive mindset, with Kon, one of the foremost Holy Knights being taken in the night by midnight cultists with minimal resistance. Bound, gagged and blindfolded, the former mage was kidnapped and experienced unimaginable pain and agony. Stripped of his dignity, he was left dangling in the dungeons of a lead torturer, absent of a prosthetic eye or arm, a shell of his former self. An experience he was reliving stretched over what felt like days when in reality had only been a few seconds as he hit the ground for the final time. The cold ground was almost uncomfortable as Kon felt his warm leech out from his chest, clearly, Odin had left him with a mortal injury to be expected given Kon’s own intentions to bring the lich into the Era dungeons to experience some form of justice.

What justice was there to be served upon a lich? a being that could not feel pain, had no concerns with such earthly things as time. It had been a foolish endeavour and he could only feel the greatest of remorse for bringing both Lucretia and Seika into the fray. Perhaps in time, they would be able to forgive him. It would definitely take him a while to give himself, however the awful experiences that he was reliving served as a punishment enough for the man as he was forced to relive more and more of the torture as he closed his eyes once more. Howls of pain left Kon’s lips both from memory and in reality as the pain from present and past gelled into one. Pains which fostered something inside him something that he knew all too well yet had not experienced for years. Originating at the ranger Hawken's eye, Kon felt an embedded strength well up within him, beginning as a white glow before pouring out into the rest of the man’s orifices as a shocking display of force, a truly impressive albeit “weak” show of power. Enough to push away rubble and put out the flames close to the man’s crumbled form but not enough to thrust back his enemies.

Despite Kon’s fragile frame, he felt a joy grow within him something that he hadn’t experienced for many, many years. He remembered everything from the worst to the sweetest of times and felt truly whole once again. Struggling through the pain, Kon rose up his blood-stained left hand drawing towards the Lich and spoke. “Thank you, friend.” Before finally touching down on the ground vision fading and hearing turned to nothing but fuzz as he heard the four-armed Eternal Nightmare member parade around the Guild Master. They had won to be sure, but Kon had gained something far more than they could ever understand. He knew just who he was, he knew he had a family, there was just so much for him to live, for now, something he had been longing for so long. Finding them would be the next spent on his journey to self-discovery and they were just the stepping stone to his destination.

Odin †

With the final punch to his former friend's torso, Odin knew the battle was over. Kon was winded, everything was knocked out of him. Combined with the large gash across his chest, the blood loss and broken bones would be too much to allow him the ability to carry forward. He was defeated. Kon, the final assailant after Lucretia had been taken out and Seika had been dispatched. That could only mean one thing and, as Odin heard Erebus' words echo throughout the now silent chamber, he was starting to process what had happened, as well as the ramifications for what it could mean in the future. Because things would change after this day, many people would reconsider their actions if they were to move against Eternal Nightmare.

For they had won. Without losing a single members of their own, Eternal Nightmare had fended off the attack from Infinity Wolves and the Rune Knights.

In his final moments, Kon seemed to witness something. His final words to the Lich were something he hadn't expected, calling Odin 'friend' despite the end of their fight. It caused Odin to wonder what the man had experienced in his final moments of consciousness. Could it be that he finally knew who he was? Odin took a moment to look at the broken child's body of the man he once knew better than anyone. On the ground lying not far from him was something the Lich had ignore in the heat of the battle, but now recognised and had never expected to see again. A skull. His skull. The one Kon had taken when he had killed Odin, many years ago. Reaching down, he would pick it up and hold it in one hand, examining it as the long lost item of sentimentality that it was. He thought of who he had been then, and the being that he had become. He would keep the skull, as a reminder of who he once was. But he would never don it again.

He had no idea how true that statement was.

------------------------------------------------------------

He had done it. SHE had witnessed every moment of the fight from the moment her eyes were opened. The mana he provided her was building every moment and he had defeated his foes in HER name. Morrigan had found her champion. It wasn't Cornelia the Glutton, lounging in Era as she feasted on anything that found its way onto her platter. It wasn't Sigmund the Wrathful, Prince of Bosco and too much a heretic for the power that he had been blessed with. And it wasn't Edward the Greedy, merchant lord of Caelum and a man that had always considered himself the smartest man alive, sometimes presuming to be smarter than Morrigan herself.

The victory in her name was to be rewarded. Something Odin may not have been aware of, was definitely not ready for, but was a blessing from his Mistress. She would grant him new power that he would use to bring her back into this world. SHE believed in the resurrection, in Midnight Cult under Odin Morningstar. He wished to defeat the previous Bishops and remove them from power, uniting the cult under one being at its head. One champion. And Odin Morningstar, not as a Lich but as something more, would become that leader.

------------------------------------------------------------

Odin froze.

He had felt this power before. Very rarely and only in moments of great change in his life. The moment he had tried to kill himself, the capture of the Many-Faced Queen, the destruction of Sloth and claiming of his Gospel. He knew the power, knew who it belonged to. It was HER power, Morrigan's power. And it was consuming him.

Why? Where was it coming from? Odin had no idea as he was engulfed in an inky blackness. A wind whooshed through the hall, its impossible power snuffing out every fire that had been caused by Seika and Kon's abilities. Even those able to see through darkness could not comprehend what laid on the other side of the seal Morrigan had created. And inside it was the Lich, but he was changing. A chrysalis in their cocoon, power spreading throughout them. Odin was becoming something more than he had been before, he felt muscle growing across the bones that he had faithfully used for years, flesh growing over muscle. He could feel the strength that came with them, something he was not used to, something stronger than he had ever been. Long, silver hair flowed down his back as the magic passed, returning him back the world. In the final moments, as it dissipated, a voice spoke to Odin. One only he could hear, deep within his soul.

"You are my champion, and you have my blessing, Odin."

He hadn't heard his name uttered by her in many years, but he stood now with a newfound power, white robes covering his new body, knitted with muscle. There were a lot of questions to answer, but they were for another day, as Odin looked once more into the empty sockets of his former skull.

It was over.

They had won.

The Prodigal Son Returns [Caius] - Page 3 Empty Mon Jun 20, 2022 8:02 am

Jin Tatsumi
An explosion of light filled the room from the final Mega-Elixer. But before it could even land it do its job, Erebus called out to the room. A rallying cry to drive the moment to its sweet conclusion a guild of nightmares…and Kon had fallen. Odin drove a fist into the man’s got before he could get away and the last of the attackers was down and out. At that moment Jin understood more of what it meant to be Eternal Nightmare. To bring nightmares upon those that would stand against their cause. He had never asked why the name had to be so ominous. He never really cared. But he could understand a little bit more now. And from what he knew, they had brought nightmares to corrupt nobles. The light faded from his magic and the room was once again lit by the glow of embers. The soft glow of victory from a world that would see them eliminated.

Jin fell to one knee. His mana almost completely drained, save for a few wisps in his tank that amounted to next to nothing. His chest bobbed with the heavy breaths he took from the non-stop action. Sweat dripped from his brow onto his armor. He placed a hand over the glowing chest plate. Without this, new piece of armor, who knows what would have happened. It was integral today in his survival and that of his team.

Three bodies lay unconscious on the floor. Some of the strongest mages in the land were before them and yet somehow this newly formed ragtag group of mages emerged victorious. The archer was beneath the lich. Two old comrades, it seemed that had split ways. Seika was at rest and the werewolf was still by Erebus. Broken fragments of their armors and helms were strewn about. Shattered by the clash of combat and magic. The guildhalls still stood with holes peppered through some of the walls and burn markings on the ceilings. It was still hard to believe. There would no doubt be ramifications for it. But that was a problem for another day.

Jin looked around at his guildmates. All still standing and all in good health. It was a relief to know that his job was done. At least for now. It was stressful, but the moments they spent here, gave him more valuable knowledge than many of the situations from his past. He had dealt with strong opponents before but never a whole team of them.

Odin held his old skull in his hands. The flames still licked around the room. It was just as that day on the other continent. Odin stood in a sea of flames with a terrifying enemy having been defeated. He found himself standing alongside this man with one victory after the next. Perhaps this was the place to be after all. He peaked his head over to see what kinda skull it was. What significance it may have, but it would be hard to tell one way or another. All he knew is that it was important to Odin.

“That’s it…we did it,” Jin said, pulling himself back to his feet as Achlys moved in closer to the team, from her artillery position on the back. He was almost too tired for celebration but his body wasn’t beaten and battered at least. He checked himself over and made sure there were no surprise wounds or holes anywhere. Is attention needed to be focused on Erebus that had taken the brunt of the beating.

“You okay. That was crazy,” he said and gave the assassin a soft pat on the back. He nodded back to achlys, a thanks for all the ranged support. Erebus was a flash os slashing steel. The likes of which the paladin had never seen. A multiarmed bandit of bloodshed. He wouldn’t have assumed such a violent battle tactic from the man he met at the pub in the beginning. But you can’t judge a book by its cover. What was certain though was that…”Man we need a drink.”

Before Jin could address Odin, the lich’s body twisted into a new form. Skin and muscle reformed. His body dripped with a humanoid appearance and his hair grew anew. Jin cocked a brow and titled his head. “Uhm…” was all he mumbled as the being transformed. Was it to do with finding the skull? Jin could only assume that the skull had some importance and reconnecting with it, made the Lich whole again. In his brief assessment of the moment.

“Gonna need a lot to drink,” he swallowed and shook his head still unsure as to what exactly he was seeing, other than a bag of bones becoming a human again. He didn’t approach as to give the Lich some time to settle into whatever new form this was. Instead, he slid to the side and grabbed Kon’s body, “I’ll just uh…take care of this,” he said as he rounded up the assault team that had come for them and set them together to be taken away. They each had contracts on them, and Jin was keen on making some extra coin after having his life hang in the balance.

There would need to be a lot of work done on the guildhall…but it was worth it in the end. But now more than ever, he assumed there would be bigger targets on all their backs. They needed to be there for one another. And he was sure that they would. Achyls, ever by Odin’s side was the first to really check on him. Once all was settled Jin and Achyls would take care of the contracts. She had a mysterious power that was also frightening. Explosions that came out of thin air, and yet she seemed so shy at the same time. Odin was newly transformed and Erebus no doubt needed to get some much-deserved rest. Although a thought still lingered for him. Whatever happened with Hitomi?

The battle was over for now. But war loomed on the horizon if they were not careful. And yet, Jin remained as carefree as ever about what could happen in the future. He needed to push himself even farther to be able to keep protecting them. There were holes in his magic that he could see and he needed to fix that.

Erebus

Erebus threw Lucretia’s body over his shoulder, breathing uneasy and just as much as his new ally, and friend though it might be too early to assume such things, of the Healer who’d saved his ass back there. He grinned, and nodded. “A drink a day to keep the mages away.” He spoke through the pain, feeling the burn on his back had been restored, though the burn itself was still phantom to his senses, likely due to slipping limbo with his cape. Erebus walked beside Jin towards Odin, and casually kicked Kon’s lifeless body, a boot to the side of the Syndicate’s ex-Guildmaster face. It was completely unnecessary. “Mm, super necessary.” He mentioned, turning to Jin as the healer picked the body up. Disturbed or not.

“... What? I needed more interaction, Konyo left me in a cave once... and besides that she shot me, not in Tower Nightmare boys. She had that comin’... ” The rogue shrugged, having taken a place walking with the Healer behind Achlyss and Odin, they went upstairs. It was quite obvious they would see to what to do with the three bodies, fodder grunt men went to retrieve Seika and carried him up as well.

Erebus noticed Odin’s change and following Jin up in dialogue, spoke with just as much surprise. “Nice body— I mean hair.” He said. Before a moment of pause. “... So uh, who’s your stylist?” He jested whilst his eyebrows curled, revealing an expression that wished to peruse the Eudaemon’s brain for the recent change, it was clear Erebus was high in spirits, and quickly he moved forward whereas to make Jin struggle but also not going too far ahead so they could walk together.

The nightmare engine had succeeded this day, and for once. It meant that hope for the Nobles was sure to be shaken, Erebus felt a pull in his chest. Hunger for change and the domination of War on the Kingdom. Everything was, strictly, finished. Tomorrow’s issue was today’s victory, and he couldn’t complain. The entire team had played their roles, and Darkness stood by it’s champions.

Khnurn
Silence had ruled over the battlefield after the celebrations. Defeated and downtrodden, life was not to be found within the body of Sol's given champion, sunlight given form, truth given blessing. It wasn't surprising to say the least. Fate had indeed won out in the end at this moment, it was scary for it to say the least, the feminine figure slinking back into their chair as the clear waves of fury rolled off of Chaos' form. The game was still not done, but in this battle the piece had been subdued and moved to the side as had many others. Time would tell if the piece would return stronger, but for now the disruptive element had been dealt with and the correct order of things had been returned to the cosmos. The two deities stared each other down, even as the darkness spiked up under Fate's piece, a sign of something else amiss in this game, yet Fate seemingly chose to ignore it even as they moved forward, choosing not to draw attention to their moves like Chaos did. Some plans were best to be laid to bare underneath careful watchful eyes.

As for Seika, or Khnurn, or Sol's champion? Body bruised and broken, his patron no where to be seen or heard as he was dragged away to Sol knows where? The wheels of power turned. The man had gone through an ordeal in which his body had been awakened to a level of power and understanding that it had never experienced, but even in his blissful state of unconscious, the wheels turned ever more. However no longer was the will of Sol burning nearly as bright. A seed of doubt had been planted, and a realization had been understood. There would be retribution, but for whom, it was to be determined.
