#26Erebus

The Prodigal Son Returns [Caius] - Page 2 Empty Sat Mar 26, 2022 4:52 am

Erebus

Erebus gazed before all that threatened his Master. A sudden intensity began to flare within him, with Erebus looking between each of the three enemies rapidly— to time everything in the perfect way, was of great importance. Upon glancing away from Kon, Erebus looked right back at the girl again when she began speaking, she seemed to be looking at him directly, perhaps she was up to something, but maybe it was a trick of the eyes because of the distance. She could merely be looking at them all, but it certainly didn’t feel that way, not if he had to bet on it. Whatever the situation, Erebus was not too bothered by the details.

Erebus waits for his move patiently and it seems to happen when Seika brashly interrupts over Kon, but the real surprise is when a massive burst of magic just goes off on top of their location. Having thrown them into a bid for dialogue against one another, Seika creates the perfect brew-pot for a chain reaction. A golden light flickers like a strobe and then following behind it suddenly thousands of purple spirits thrust themselves up from the flooring over the group-target’s location. Giving Erebus the edge he needs, he propels five meters forward using this spell as a distracting factor the fractal second it ends to allow him movement to his spot without getting interrupted on the in-between.

Achlyss & Jin were highly talented, and their spells performed wonderfully, Erebus figured as much, finishing up his own schemes in the fractions of a second thereof. This stun was the perfect moment to adjust Eternal Nightmares place on their chess board. Odin went before this blast, and Erebus would have moved in that fraction of a second the spells ended, but not before— thus he was not damaged from the AoE. Erebus would get under way with a rapid swiftness.

It would be no surprise now however, if all three hadn’t just become caught in damaging radius of the second AoE as well, Erebus let his arm he’d been raising lift all the way up instantly, and then  finally drop from it’s climatic raise instantly, (Erebus is still beneath a cape which covers his chest down to his waist like a cloak, I.e seeing his other arms is still not possible, he has three fingers holding the cape shut as this chest despite movement being seen under his clothes, such as lifting his appendages etc— he can easily reveal them at any time, but vision of his body is purposely being obscured at this time.) Odin doesn’t move further, it was likely he was waiting for the next chance to react. But that was perfect— since Kon would lock-on to Odin for having moved first, he wouldn’t have a clear path to Erebus when the blue seal on the floor ignited upon the earth, Marked or not.

Meanwhile, Erebus spell is a success it took it’s place now upon Seika’s location three meters from his position, it lunges right at him instantly, to react and understand the situation up to now unprecedentedly. He was adorned in a metallic alloy body-suit and was much taller than the mages herein by a few feet. The summon was named Bach, approximately twenty-one meters away from Erebus positions. Erebus was off Odin’s right and appropriately ten feet from him still. Bach would take it’s blade and thrust horizontally, from left to the right at Seika, Erebus prepped himself for reactions in the background. But his eyes were on Seika, his fingers would move the summon from beneath his cape, although clearly Bach has a mind of it’s own anyways.

Erebus would control Bach’s movements for attacks it could not see coming, and get his combination ready as he walked carefully, Erebus could dash or lunge at any moment, but the sheer confidence of his step would give a regular man a sickly demented feeling. It was all the same right outside of these walls, all of Oak praised Erebus a legend. It was the rest of the world that revered him an infamous notoriety. Every step of his boots made that obvious now too, he could only change his direction or plan if he was stopped now. His defenses werent dampened, and his eyes were squint despite his calm and unrelenting tenacity.

The very anger in this Mage’s heart, needed not talking about or arguing away with morals and justification. It was just felt, and that feeling of emptiness, that merciless void that all mind returns too when it panics. was a favor that rewarded the burning Light— with the breeze of darkness.

Erebus gripped his daggers under the coat, and was ready for war.

It was only now that the air and heat of the room intensified around Erebus, and he grunted to clear his throat, it wouldn’t inhibit him, but it was more for show of the moment— coughing up something undesirable from his lungs with traces of recent blood in it wasn’t planned. Surely it was a sign that couldn’t afford sloppiness on his part.

This wasn’t going to be a comfortable fight under his vitality drain and this shitty heat, but it rose his battle lust to its brink, and if you were looking at Erebus’ you’d see a smile spread gleefully over his pale face. He wasn’t going to pretend it didn’t piss him off that they were invaded by the Rune Knight, but… This was just like a hornet nest— only they were dark mages. You don’t go sticking your hand in hornet nests, expecting anything but the sting of reality.

Erebus was prepared to die going in second behind his invincible Guild Master. A ball of white light ignited over the spot he was moments before behind his person, and Erebus could see the room lit bright in front of him from behind by Sol’s light, analyzing this as he watched his foes in front of him, it put him ahead of the play. Something that he could take advantage of. Looking directly into Seika’s spells would prove trouble, Erebus would close one of his eyes if he was in front of Seika casting a spell with light so bright, keeping the other trained on Seika at all times. Erebus knew this was of vital importance. In case of blindness to one eye, perhaps saving one behind the dark of his eyelid could help later on.

“Bach,” he mumbled to himself and the summon needn’t be next to him to hear it. His hand within the cloak, hidden from sight, gently pushes forward, “Get ready.”

The knight will instantly be shot upwards to its feet from the seal, wasting no time as it reaches the battle. Bach’s armor is skin tight to his person, black and space grey, with deep blues & purple around the armor. It wields a five foot long sword made of bubble, illusively resembling a normal blade.

Kon

Invasion

With his proposal all but concluded with the interruption from his ally, Seika, Kon was at the whims of his own aggression. An otherwise devastating volley left Kon's bow leading with a disproportionately large meteor tearing apart everything in front of them. As nimble on his feet as he was deft with his draw of his bow, Kon wasn’t one to remain still, certainly not without warrant or due cause. His decision to briefly create space between him and the Eternal Nightmare party through the glow beneath both the “weakest” of the members and his own group as well as Odin’s direct approach towards them. Kon saw no value in closing the gap between them at least not yet, so instead of charging towards his opponents as his own colleagues might opt to do, he would do the complete inverse. So turning from a forward leaning stance, Kon in the briefest of moments, kicked off crushing and destroying the floor beneath them lunging back to the uttermost possible in a single bound.

Much to Kon’s surprise, His immense boulder of moltening rock dissolved as it struck the skeleton. “Nullifying shield, eh?” Kon thought to himself in the briefest of moments, having his own experience with nullification having previously owned an item possessing a similar if not identical ability albeit without the same golden flair. Seeing no use in focusing his attention to attack such a foe, Kon released his Lock-on spell hoping to use it upon another at a later date.

The Lich was already so slow relative to Kon’s own potential while his spells travelled at a rate unparalleled to not just Kon’s peers but assumingly his opponents before him. Kon had been a mage for quite some time prior to losing his own innate abilities and was greatly familiar with the norms of a magician's spells and their speed. It was funny really to see how many parallels could be made with mages, similar sizes, potencies, range limitations, it amused Kon to no end just how consistent things were. Retreating was one thing; simply falling back to a more optimal position was another particularly for someone with his abilities.Seeing little to be gained for the ranger to attack someone that would just simply purge any and all of their attacks from existence, Kon would leave Odin for the duo to deal with while he instead would take pop shots at the various other members of the eternal nightmare.

Erebus, the otherwise unidentified Achlys and Hitomi, Jin, each would receive a terrifying blow from his bow each with their own distinct punishments. Erebus received a frozen shot that could be defined as enhanced at the best of times, cursed at the worst, which would otherwise penetrate through their armour and directly into the flesh before leaving a longer heat upon them and their clothing. The remaining three would receive more traditional arrows each respectively aiming for the chest this time, Achlys being welcomed by a volley of meteors from above, Jin being in direct opposition to them highlight by being the first active attacker, Kon shot them with a devastating S-Rank basic shot which would leave a harsh lick of fires on their own stylish attire. Hitomi seemingly having conflicted feelings towards the entirely fight before them having not shown any signs of directly attack them, would receive the lesser of his ranged attacks, in part due to this but also due to him having expended the reach of his capabilities in the seconds of rapid firing and shifting sights between the four of them.

This initial volley would be taxing for the Ranger, however it wasn’t unsustainable nor unrepeatable for them, having an immense mana pool and masterful experience with his Rama’s Bow. Even with Odin having removed Kon’s gigantic meteor the follow up onslaught towards his peers would be difficult for Odin to try and counter his attacks. In combination with their relative distance between Odin, his slow speed and His arrows own bullet-like acceleration. As for what his allies were doing, that was entirely of their own concern, with Kon having full faith in the duo while also having nothing to truly support them with. Between Lucretia’s immense physical prowess in conjunction with their ferocious werewolf abilities and Seika’s own intense flame and light blend, Kon was more than confident in their own abilities to keep their own. He had fought Lucretia once before they were certainly a fierce fighter and had no doubt gotten stronger since then. His own experiences with Seika had been more in line with what was happening before then rather than fighting against each other. Nonetheless they had proven each other’s worth many times over during many various conflicts throughout these past years.

Durability: Indestructible

Bonus

Speed: +60

Necklace

Name: Everfrost
Type: Necklace
Class: Unique
Quantity: Custom
Element: Frost
Durability: 1x S-Rank

Effects

  • Frost Shift: The user may change the element of their item spells to Frost, regardless of the spell original element, the modifiers of the spells will also be changed accordingly. This requires the user to pay the base amount of mana for the item spells for the effect to apply. Therefore, any mana reduction that would normally apply to item spells cast by the user would no longer apply when the item spell element is shifted. This doesn't grant the user elemental synergy since it doesn't change the elemental alignment of the item.

Relic

Name: Millennium Eye
Type: Eye
Class: Legendary
Quantity: Limited
Element: Arcane
Durability: Indestructible

Effects

  • Power Scouter: When looking at a target, the user can see the amount of mana they posses and their exact distribution of attribute points. They cannot mention the number to others since it would make no sense to them, but the user can make perfect sense of the value they see.
  • Type Scouter: The user can see the type (Offensive, Defensive, Supplementary etc.) of a spell when looking at one, and also the elemental-type to which that spell belongs. The user can also see which type of mana a target possesses when looking at them (Fire, Water, Earth etc.).
  • Mana Seeker: The user can see mana with the Millennium Eye. Therefore, even if their vision is completely blurred or the target is invisible, they can still see the silhouettes of whoever that possesses mana. Depending on how much mana they possess, the silhouette appears brighter or dimmer.

Modification

Name: Ferion's Hawken Eye
Slot: Modification
Type: Eye
Class: -
Quantity: Limited
Element: -

Effects

  • The user can see perfectly clear up to 100 meters. This means that if someone is holding a note 60 meters away, the user can read it as long as the line of vision is not obstructed.
  • The user can see the trajectory of projectiles. The lines of projectiles (where they will land eventually) will appear as lines in their sight as they are moving. Should the user have enough time to react, they will always be able to determine where a projectile will land. This does not count for spells that can be moved around by the will of the user. Only static movements can be predicted where they will land. Imagine a baseball being thrown and you see a line in front of the baseball ending one meter next to your foot. Should you have enough time to react, you could still catch it cause you know where it will land. Or dodge it.
    land.

    Cooldown: 1 Post
    Duration: Sustain

  • Name: Lock-On
    Rank: S
    Mana Cost: 500
    Requirements: Ferion's Hawken Eye
    Type: Supplementary
    Element: Arcane

A single arrow, fireball, or even worse. Once a targeted has been Locked-On, all projectiles of the user will chase them.

They knew what they were coming here for, the moment those doors got blown down it was only a matter of time before a fight broke out and the sooner the better in that regard. Posing, pretending, trying to act like this wasn’t going to happen would get them no where. The trepidation that lucretia felt was something like you’d expect out of those old folk stories her mother used to tell her about. Where those shining beacons would fight against the darkness. But to say that the people here were darkness was unfair to them; a collective term that made it easy to villinize them. They were people too, going down paths that led them to this point. But it was up to these three at this point in time to try to correct them by force now.

It was a pity really; Lucretia was the sort to believe that everyone could be a good friend to her. That everyone deserved that second chance; maybe even a third if they honestly tried. If they hadn’t come here to fight; to talk maybe things would have turned out different. But there was so much on the line here that it wasn’t even funny. Seika practically cutting off Kon with that attack spurred her on. She felt her transformation kick in. But there was something wrong.

You won’t be strong enough with just her alone.

The thought twisted in her mind; the seconds stretched. She felt her body twist one way, just to twist another. Her features sharpened, her limbs distended. But they didn’t stop. They didn’t stop and it was painful. She felt all these sources of information wash over her like a roaring wave slamming into the rocks of a new beach. Her body grew as the seconds ticked, it would have stopped at just a measly meter. But there was a brilliant surge of power through her body. Siphoning away from her mana like a man who just drank water from an oasis for the first time.

The fur that sprung out of her flesh was white for a brief instant before getting a tint of gold from Shaka Zulu’s Assegai. Her body extending further, twisting. Turning. Horrid. It was unlike anything she had ever experienced before. If she hadn’t practiced either transformation she might have just passed out from the pain. She felt her body reach its peak physical state in less than a pair of seconds.

But now there was a giant in the midst of all this and all she could see was the threats that presented themselves. To recognize the threats here and now didn’t even really take much. The now five meter wolf lion hybrid was like a blur as she leapt forward; muscle and sinew practically engulfing the threats she saw in immediacy. She knew who her allies were just by their mere scent and whatever was in front of her now was not an ally. It smelled of magic, water and aggression. But that latter part was practically rampant in the air; this whole guild smelled of it and it was enough to where she bet if she was anyone else she might have just wretched right then and there.

Her movement didn’t stop; taking that magic, taking that water, taking that aggression with her. The massive hybrid’s hand would look to close around the summon’s head. Yanking it with her if it did. Even if it didn’t it ran the risk of the massive beast bowling it over if it didn’t get out of the way. Her goal was the man, the myth, the Lich in front of her. Given the size of the beast now attacking them with a pair of lunges, one right after another was all that was needed to cross the precipice. The momentum would add onto what came next.

Her spear felt like a toothpick in her hand sure, but it still drove forward with incredible force. Looking to slam into that shield of Odin’s; Lucretia wasn’t a fool in this regard. There were only a few things that were capable of stopping an attack like that and if this shield was one of them she made the right decision. If that was an ability of odin’s she didn’t know about and not from that shield she would have to reassess what approach she would have to take. For now? She would have to work to break the damn thing apart.

The board had changed.

Not too drastically. Not even enough to be considered noticeable by the mortals they oversaw. But it was something the twin Gods of Fate and Chaos could notice as it was something they had never seen before. It was tiny, minute even. A small flicker of flame that danced about one of the pieces in the clash that seemed to char the piece ever so slightly. It was enough of a disturbance that Chaos had even picked up the piece, unknown of the cause nor the effect it would have on such a minor piece. The God could not see into the future by nature of their powers. When everything was chaos, there were infinite possibilities among infinite realms. Thus there was no set path to take, only opportunities.

Fate on the other hand was extremely wary of such a scorch mark, no matter how minute the detail was. Minor forces and deities normally did not have the power nor impact to actually influence the game, let alone mar one of the pieces that it was played with. Something was different with this iteration. Something that Chaos had done had changed the game in their favor, but not in a way that Chaos could control. This was an ill omen if there ever was one and it now had Fate's undivided attention.

The piece was placed back where it had been originally. Chaos no longer interested if the piece itself was not going to properly reveal to it what these changes meant. But now it was also curious. Just what would this change bring. Had it's efforts actually been fruitful? What would this new element bring to the table that it could not already foresee as an option? Truthfully even now various timelines and opportunities were catching sparks to them before erupting into beautiful blazes. Yes this newest iteration would definitely be far more interesting than all that came before it.

---

Sol was not pleased. Not in the slightest.

Even as the rage of its Avatar filled the entity with scorn, the immense power and influence it had carried over into the world it oversaw. The Sun shone brightly in parts of the world that were not currently cast in rain. Burning crops and causing temporary droughts as basins began to evaporate from the intense heat. However these were all byproducts of Sol's actual intentions. The God's energy and might streaming directly into Its Avatar as the man stood resolute against one of the many Representations of Darkness. Sol could not let this aberration stand, even as the foul creatures' cohorts began to unleash their assault upon Its Chosen's position, Sol had had enough.

And so the world burned.

--- Plot stuff over for now ---

The world was a mental haze for Seika. Vaguely trapped in the world between his mind and reality as the appearance of Hitomi triggered something internally that he could not hold in any longer. The ambient heat that surrounded him naturally had already filled the world. Flames licked at his feat and the fixtures up above were already lit ablaze. However it was several sudden movements that led to Seika truly returning to the world of the living. The haze stripped away immediately as if to not even give him the proper mental closure of seeing his closest friend, his greatest confidant and his only lover standing across the hall from him. In his rage, he drew upon his God. In his rage, he truly did not care for the actions of mortals. They had insulted him, dragged those he cared for down to their level, and now they refused to grant him peace nor quarter.

Why should he care for their well being nor their homes?

And so even as Odin moved, Seika's eyes would shift back to his position almost instantly. However it wasn't the Liches movement that keyed Seika into something being off. No, with Konyo already firing a brilliant burning arrow, there was also the clear indication of spell casting occurring from others just across the room that were barely visible just before the meteor filled the room with light. It was clear that these individuals were also of the same mind as their Guild Master.

No matter. They would burn all the same.

And so the world seemingly glitched. A tangle of ashes accompanied by a previous timeline of actions and reactions that had been burned away. No longer had Seika stood there mentally thinking to himself as Konyo and Odin discussed how this would go about. No longer had Odin merely sat on his throne as insults were tossed his way. No longer had others merely waited for the festivities to begin. That timeline was no more. Burned with the actions of a few, but upheld by the will of many.

Now instead the man, the legend, the Creature, known as Odin had moved. Had spurned action from those who called him Master. Now those actions had weight in this new timeline, dictating the actions of others in an equal reaction that was sure to burn away at even further timelines in the future.

Now instead of Seika standing there, his hands were ready. It was nothing for him to have his sword at ready, the weapon was always either on his hip or in his hand. Neither case required time from the Giant, he was fluid in his movements as was instructed in him during his time in Joya. None of his masters would allow him to be slow with drawing or wielding the blade.

However now with the blade in hand, the heat that had filled and surrounded those within the building carried far more weight. Ryujin Jakka was called by many names back in Joya. The Blade of One Thousand Truths. The Lightbringer. The Cutter of Heavens. But it’s true name. Its true purpose lay with its original casting, and its original usage, as the heavenly blade of Izanami. He had used the blade to  split the newly born deity and his son, Kagutsuchi, into eight pieces before sealing his heavenly essence into the blade. But by doing so the blade had become more than it was before. It now held within it the essence of a God. A god who’s heavenly presence was strong enough to mortally scar Its mother deity and directly led to her death. Such an essence would truly be fearsome if placed within the mere confines of a heavenly weapon.

The world burned.

Flames licked about. Even as Konyo released his arrow. Even as Odin dashed. Flames licked about the world. They had always been surrounded by Fire, as such was Seika’s nature. Flames licked about. Even as others casted futile spells. Flames licked about, even as Seika grasped Ryujin Jakka within his vaguely mortal hands.

Flames licked about.

Fire was such a fickle element. It had so many properties, powers and rules that made it so inherently destructive that it was hard to believe that it could even be used positively. It was always a wonder that someone could look at the element of fire and find something nice to say about it. But Fire had always been a part of Seika. Even before Sol. Even before Ra, Amaterasu. Even before wielding the blade that held the heavenly essence of Kagutsuchi. Fire had always been a part of him. It was likely why a deity like Sol had taken so much interest in him. Why he had been named Seika in the first place. Hell even his actual name meant something along the lines of being a mythical reborn sun. He was for all intents and purposes, destined to embody the element of fire. Which spoke to the passion, and ferocity of his actions, as well as the weight of his heat and flames.

When Seika wanted something to burn. It burned.

And so the world burned.

Almost immediately after the arrow left Konyo’s hand a pulse of fire and heat rapidly expanded from Seika. Not the blade, even if it were the cause, but the man himself. Expanding outwards quickly and engulfing all before it.

The floor burned.

The walls burned.

The magic seals, whether visible or invisible, burned.

The rain burned.

The world burned.

All around him, fire spread without care, without cause, and without pause. There was nothing that was mortal about this world that did not burn. Seika’s fury at all things would be felt upon the world. A mark would be forever burned into this Guildhall. No matter how much they scrubbed, buffed, or worked. The mark that Seika left on the floor, the walls, the very land the guild sat upon, would be forever marred by the ferocious flames that Seika released. They were so potent that even out in the city of Oak. The world burned. The rain had ceased. The sky had parted. The Sun now shone.

Sol shone brightly over Oak.

It was the dead of night, yet the Sun was brilliant in its features as it sat overhead as though day had suddenly been replaced by night. Sol’s avatar had invoked his God before these mere mortals, not as a show of power, but as a response to his anger.

When Seika raged. Sol raged with him.

When Sol wanted something burned. Seika would burn for it.

They were one, they were the same.

The conclusion was the entire first floor of the guild all being blown out. Walls exploding violently from the sudden shift of heat and pressure. Rooms would have immediately been filled, blown out and then collapsed. The tables that had once sat prominently before them now burned too cinders. All that was left were the crumbling remains of the first floor's supports as well as the many stalwart pillars that held up the ceiling.

Surprisingly however was the fact that throughout all of this heat, all of this fire. No one was burned. Seika made sure not to burn those before him. That would do no good. They had to suffer, they had to understand. There was no growth without a lesson. And Seika was a patient teacher.

And so his hands once again returned to the sky.

By now Odin would have finished his dash. The spells would’ve been nullified, and Konyo would have been safely out of the door. Seika’s immolation of the world around him was short, sweet and to the point. Cutting in line was not to be allowed. Thou must wait their turn.

A great glowing sigil once again appeared over their heads. Stretching from point to point, almost filling the entirety of the great hall. Similar to the others, it would take some time for Seika’s spell to drop, well not really considering that instead of being centered upon the throne it was now centered upon Odin himself. If Seika was anything, he was incredibly consistent. The spell sigil stretched for meters in diameter. Covering a full twenty-six meters from end to end. Even with a dash none would be able to avoid this spell. They would have to defend themselves. They would have to beg for forgiveness. Or they would die. It was that simple. Of course he knew of Odin’s ability to nullify magic. However Seika did not care. Seika wanted, no, not wanted. Seika demanded retribution.

He cared not for what his allies did, however he wasn’t so blind to not notice the appearance of a spell circle that would’ve appeared even as his hands had reached up to activate his spell. Luckily for him, it did not require him to stand still to maintain such a structure. No, even as the spell circle appeared, his hands had already moved to engage the creation that had moved out of the spell circle with the direct intention of confronting him.

Shing!

With blade already in hand, it would find itself sheathed and then unsheathed in a blinding flash that none could properly catch, not even the creation, nor its master. Seika’s mastery of the blade was something of a specialty, having studied the art of Iai as much as possible, he truly excelled in the art of quick drawing and parrying strikes. This made his abilities truly potent at countering those who came at him from a close range as it meant he was always truly prepared for any interaction. The only thing that worried him were overwhelming odds. But with most of the individuals seemingly content to stand behind their Master, Seika was not worried just yet. It was not time yet to truly end things, only to force hands and ensure actions.

And so he slid back after the clash between the formation and his blade. Having avoided direct damage, the force of such a clash was enough to at least push him back due to the momentum and strength of it. It wasn’t enough to push him back too far, but enough to shift him back by a meter so that he was again balanced by his right foot in a ready stance. The action was enough to keep him upright and prepared for any other interactions and took so little time that he wouldn’t be left vulnerable to response.

The world burned furiously around them all.

The battlefield had been transformed from a beautiful guildhall to the first layer of hell. Time had burned, and actions had been reacted to. Soon it would be over. Soon it would all end.

--- Plot Stuff again---

Fate winced as they reached for their piece to move. Almost as if they had been struck by a piece of static, only this time it was a single singe mark on the bottom of their index finger. It was again, something so minute and ignorable that the God barely paid attention to the injury. Something was definitely different with the iteration of the game. And now God was certain of it.

Odin †

Odin had clashed with fanatics before, and he had killed each and every one of them. Most notably was Brunhild of course: the Boscosi Divine who went rogue and tried to kill her new liege. She had channelled the power of Illumin for her own nefarious purposes, having been blessed by the Seraphim Agashariel: a threat Odin and Jin would have to defeat in the future, whenever the angel showed his face again. Seraphim, Bishops and Divines had all fallen before Odin's power. He saw now reason why Seika should be any different. Odin may not have had a deity blessing his every move but he had received his purpose, his power, from someone even mightier than the gods. A being who's very name had been cursed in the centuries since her imprisonment. A being who's cult had been ordered eradicated innumerable times throughout the ages, all to no avail. A being who would make Sol, the embodiment of the sun itself, shiver.

Odin knew that Morrigan was watching him, witnessing this battle as it occurred, every moment captured by her infinite power. Trapped though she might be, her essence often slipped through into this world. It had spoken to Odin, given him purpose and, at times, given him new power. He owed his everything to Morrigan, a being who's name had only been revealed to him within the past few years by the Seraphim. Ironic that it was greatest enemies that revealed to him the name of his goddess, always taunting the Lich by knowing more than he did. Blind devotion had never been Odin's methods but, then again, Morrigan defied all logic.

His dash had indeed set everyone up for some excitement. Kon, potentially expecting the Wizard Lord to proceed further than his five metres, retreated in fear, firing his own arrow that struck Odin's shield and was instantly reduced to nothingness. He would not take damage from his old friend, he would not let the man so much as sully Odin's being with dirt. And that went for all of them, even the Avatar of Sol. With the power of Greed coating his skeletal form, and an extra boost bestowed upon him by Hitomi, Odin felt ready to engage with anything sent his way.

And it came. The flames had been ever present throughout their fight, ever since the doors to the guildhall had been blasted upon. Where Seika walked, Prometheus followed in his wake, coating every step with the element of destruction. Weaker men may have fallen at the mere sight of the man who by all accounts stood as a paragon of everything he represented. He was providence. He was an unstoppable force that could not be humbled by any means. He was power.

But that power begged a question, one many philosophers would ponder for millennia: what happened when that unstoppable force hit an immovable object? For just as providence, destiny, fate, moved through the world, enacting their change and exerting their power on all, so too did freedom, truth, existence stand as a wall. A wall designed for one thing and one alone.

Reminding fate when it had stepped too far.

Of course, Seika stood as one of the greatest foes Odin had ever faced. No matter the outcome of their battle today, the Lich knew that their war had just begun. The Avatar of Sol would always stand opposed to the Apostle of Morrigan, locked in an eternal struggle until one of them finally fell. Who would it be? Would light prevail, as so often it did in the stories of old? Or, this time, would darkness cast its shadow across the land, and remind every being of where they came from. This world may been created from light, but darkness had existed even before. Everything began in darkness and, in time, Odin would remind them all where they belonged.

As Odin reached his destination, and the arrow from Kon was turned to naught, the fire around them began to blaze with incredible might. Even Odin, lacking nerves to truly feel; eyes to truly see, and glands to truly sweat, could feel the overpowering heat as it swelled and, at once, released. Fire engulfed the room, exploding outwards from Seika's position. The room was scattered by the magic, the entire essence of the tower would be burned forevermore.

But then, it stopped. The spell travelled as fast as it could, burning everything in its wake. And then it stopped. The throne room of Eternal Nightmare was forever altered, forever scarred by the flames that coated it.

And. Then. It. Stopped.

For every power in the world, there existed an equal. With Creation existed Destruction. With Fate existed Chaos. However, often people forgot where they stood. Creation and Destruction, Fate and Chaos, they existed at the top. Primordial forces, unstoppable in their decisions. But no one else stood at their level. Everyone else, while also possessing an equal, possessed more. Everyone who led the life of a mage knew the feeling, had felt the hand grasp over their heart, the crushing of their morale, the sound of their defeat. Some were lucky, they would feel it once. They would experience that pain, that sense of complete and utter helplessness, and they would retire. They would leave their old life behind, content that they had reached their peak. That someone was stronger than them, and always would be.

Odin was not one of those people.

He had lost more times than he could count. He had been the weakest member of Grimoire Heart during their raid on Blue Pegasus. He had lost to their now-guild master Alisa Vollan. He had lost in Era while trying to free Theseus under the orders of Crowley. He had lost his will to fight and he had taken his own life in recompense. He had lost to Shichiro, outside this very room. He had lost so many battles, so many people.

No longer.

The fire would not touch his allies, would not scorch their home. It reached Odin first, who stood stalwart against the flames of Sol. He was their shield, and he was an immovable object. He would not be moved, not for Seika, not for Sol, not for Creation or Destruction or Fate or Chaos. Never again. The flames crashed against Odin's shield, requiring all of the Lich's strength not to fall at the force of it all. But he would not fall. And he would not be moved. The flames began to falter, dispersing as the shield devoured them like darkness devoured light. Then, nothing. Seika's power. Sol's power, it amounted to nothing in the face of the Wizard Lord. And there was nothing to stop the onslaught of his guild.

But the Lich would not end there. He took a few steps back, about a metre just as Seika. He knew that Kon had the range advantage, and Odin would not be able to reach his location without leaving himself open. So he wouldn't. He would give his old friend more space to fire, give himself more time to react to anything sent his way. Odin could destroy his foes if the need required him to, but that was not his role in this fight. He was their target, he was the prize they all wished. And he would take all of their damage, all of their abilities, with a smile plastered across his skull. They would not hurt him.

An instant had passed in this time between Yata no Kagami, the sacred treasure of Joya. Used in legend as a lure for the Joyan Sun God Amaterasu, now it sought to block out the very same sun. And it was not finished. Its appetite was endless, and a new meal was presenting itself above Odin's head. As he dashed backwards the single metre, clearing the distance in no time at all, the shield was raised high into the sky. Seika's attack, the beam of light which contained the very essence of Sol, was one again reduced to nothing by the power of the Lich and by the effect of the Yata no Kagami.

But it was not alone. For just as Seika brought Sol's rage down upon the Lich, so too did Kon attempt to target the members of Eternal Nightmare standing at the throne. His arrow dispersed into a meteor shower which rained down upon their location, which Odin now stood in front of. Once again, the Yata no Kagami devoured all that hit it. Once again, Odin exerted his power among the weaker men before him. They would eventually understand, no matter how long it took them: Odin could not be touched. Try as hard as they might, it would be impossible to stop him, or his guild.

Odin's shield may have been raised to catch the spells fired at him, but his eyes did not need to follow. Instead, he watched the three enemies before him: Kon standing far in the distance, Seika standing closer but not within the range of Odin's imposing aura, and the final foe, who had transformed into a hybrid of muscle, fur and sinew that even the Lich couldn't possibly name. She looked bred for combat, and he would be ready to receive any attack from her with his Greed Magic, and ready to retaliate with the axe in his other hand. The cleaver craved blood, just as the shield needed sated. It would be unfair of Odin to allow them both to drink their fill.

And drink they would.

Achlys †

Achlys might be the newest member to this guild and less members know about her being the member of this guild, or even about her existence. Achlys might be the one with less fighting experience in this room, all of her power was gained from intense training programs from her family combined with the power granted to her from some entity, but her potential is no joke. She has grown even stronger in the past few years and this is the exact right place and right moment to test that. It doesn't matter if she will lose this fight or win her first fight against these three invaders alongside her member guild, this fight will surely give her some lesson and experience for more fights awaits for her in the future.

Odin’s dash was not only triggering his guild members to make their moves, it’s not only triggered Achlys to cast her spell, but also his enemies. Achlys witnessed Kon retreat way far compared to the distance of Odin’s dash while he fired his arrows against Odin. That is when Achlys gets her first glance on the power of her guild master, as how his shield reduces Kon’s arrow to nothingness in a blink of an eye. That amazes her how easy for his guild master to clear an attack like that. Right after Odin reaches his destination Achlys is expecting her spell to reach her target and surprise her enemies, but suddenly the atmosphere in that room changes, by the overpowering heat that comes from Seika’s position. Then fire explodes all over the room and at that moment Achlys feels something weird until she realizes that her spell didn’t come up as it supposed to be and she can’t feel that spell anywhere in the room and suddenly gone. Her spell must be overwhelmed by the heat and the fire that comes from Seika earlier, but she doesn’t feel harmed by that fire at all.

Achlys feels a goosebump right after that fire explodes from Seika as she starts to notice and acknowledge the ability of her enemies, that those reputation about them are now proven in this fight. In an instant after that fire is gone, Achlys opens her hand and dark purple aura instantly covers her body followed by the figure of Chordeva comes out from her sphere and turns into black smoke covering her body from head to toe. That smoke then turns into an armor shape and changes her outfit. Of course all of this happened in an instant, in a blink of an eye. This defensive power was granted to her from Chordeva, a devil that was given to her from her family after going through harsh training and so many tests.

Everything happened so fast right in front of Achlys’s eyes, seconds passed with everyone around her making their move, casting their spell against each other. Everything happened so fast. Achlys points her finger towards Kon as she notices Kon starts shooting his arrows, not just one, but a bunch of different types of arrow. Her face show how shocked she is to see what Kon’s capable of, to her surrounding who look at her might think that she pointed at Kon only because she was surprise by what Kon do or might think that Achlys trying to warn her allies about Kon’s arrows, but she actually cast a spell by pointing at Kon as Kon shoot his arrows. Not a single person around her will notice her casting a spell since it’s disguised behind her shocked face. As her spell reaches Kon, an 8 meters black ball appears right behind Kon, so close that only a piece of paper can go through the space in between. If that spell hit Kon, that black ball will explode and deal damage to anyone within the 32 meters area as Kon as the center.

Hitomi Minamoto †

The thick of battle choked the room and lit a fire in those present. Spell after spell flew from each side. Every person showcasing their abilities with the intent to maim or kill. On one side to protect their home and their way of life and on the other to bring in those who didn’t fit within the confines of  “ justice “. A day of relaxation for Hitomi had turned into an all out battle, one she didn’t want to fight as the thought of hurting her beloved began to cause conflict within her. No member of Eternal Nightmare had made her feel the way that Seika made her feel. She was a girl in love and rightfully so. Their time together built something solid, a love built on understanding, trust, and admiration for one another. In all her time with Odin she had never really had that. Any feelings she had for the guild master was directly driven by the demon Asmodeus and her own ignorance about the world around her. She didn’t even know the people of Eternal Nightmare and her only connection to it was Odin. Although she admired his goals she didn’t care enough about Fiore to want to change it unless Seika did but she also knew that he also did not care about Fiore to do that.

The thin veil that protected the fragile minds of the people that lived in the mortal realm was starting to slowly tear at the seams. Bigger things were happening, and she didn’t have the time or the patience to focus on the petty squabbles of a world that needed saving from a bigger threat. Even with all that knowledge here she was, fighting against the main person who knew of what was happening and for what? A guild master whose a purpose she didn’t truly care for and a guild who she had no true ties with? She had been lying to herself ever since she returned to Odin’s side. Nothing was ever going to be the same between them as she was no longer a naive and lost girl that was being controlled by a force much stronger than her. Hitomi could stand on her own now but she wanted to stand with Seika. Her heart pounded so loudly in her chest she could hear it in her ears. Her eyes burned, threatening to cry as the realization of what was occurring settled in. Seika didn’t want this either, and of course, he didn't, he loved her as she loved him. His words echoed in her mind, the ones he uttered when she first saw him in the Eternal Nightmare guildhall. His apology should have been enough but she was too wrapped up in the idea of their time coming to an end. Now she could see that she couldn’t let these people hurt him.

Having never moved from her spot due to already being conflicted about fighting Seika, she had decided to help the guild from the backline. Of course, now that would no longer be an option as she realized that she wasn’t going to let them hurt her beloved, it was time that she truly ended any connection she had with Eternal Nightmare. Her memories with Odin were nice though they were quickly fleeting from her mind as they were being replaced with better ones, and if she were being honest with herself she preferred it that way. Each person here would play a part today, and the stars of this shit show would leave winners and she planned to leave a winner.

Since she had never moved from her spot she was at the mercy of the spells being cast in her direction. One such spell was Seika’s fire spell, which burned a light into her very essence. She could see and feel the heat it generated. A voice she had heard before rang in her mind, it told her to chase the sun just like it did in her dream. For all the time she had been playing with the veil to a plane most mortals couldn’t reach, she couldn’t believe she had been ignoring this particular voice in question. Amateratsu used to be one being, and now she was two. There was not just a sun but also a moon and Hitomi knew the part she had to play as the seeds she had planted now bore fruit. Just before the flames would washed over Odin and as the spells it nullified were shut down, Hitomi in one swift movement would raise her sword into the air, the members of Eternal Nightmare were not her friends, they were not her family, and she did not hold any love or loyalty to them or for them. Besides Odin they were all strangers to her and now that she realized it Odin himself might as well be a stranger to her as she knew so little about him that it was a wonder she allowed Asmodeous to control her into loving him the way she did once upon a time. A fantasy that came crashing down the moment she knew of the word, a fantasy that was broken down by reality and she was set free by true love. She needed to chase her Sun so that they could be one again and in order to do that she had to protect him from those who dare do him harm. The members of Eternal Nightmare made themselves her enemies as soon as they attacked Seika, they became her enemies because they wanted to protect themselves and each other. The storm outside raged and thunder struck down on top of the heads of the members of eternal nightmare passing through all that would try and hinder it. Odin, Erebus,Jin, and Achlys would all feel what one would consider betrayal in the form of thunder, the sound of it filling the air. Nothing would prepare them for what she had done and perhaps they wouldn’t even know she was the one who had done it. There was no indicator that it came from her as her raised sword could have just been her preparing to attack the enemy, and a well-placed arrow from Kon would further pull attention away from her as it hit her in the chest, not something she intended but it paired well with the theatrics.

Seeing as this was no longer the safest place to be she quickly let her sword down and bending at the knees pushed back in order to lunge away from the throne she had been standing next to. While she lunged she activated the spell of her Moon Rabbit headpiece, allowing her to lunge double the distance at thirty meters rather than her standard fifteen. She would go back as far as she possibly could until she either hit a wall or the distance she could reach was complete. What she had done was completely sever the ties between her and the Eternal Nightmare guild, closing her chapter in the Nightmare. She awaited the fallout or the confusion, whichever came first she would be ready for it.

The Prodigal Son Returns [Caius] - Page 2 Empty Sat Apr 02, 2022 2:30 pm

Jin Tatsumi
The world erupted around the healer. All members launched into a full-scale assault. His mind went a million miles a minute, scanning the battlefield to keep up with everything. His spell flowed across the terrain towards his target. Heat piled up and seethed through the hall. It was harder to breathe even though it didn't hurt. Jin wasn't sure what power Seika was conjuring but the flames seared the ground on their way towards them and he knew he needed to be ready. As those flames rushed toward Odin, Jin's hand came to his shoulder, and he swiped his hand across his body. A 4-meter diameter magic circle appeared at Jin's feet and an armor of light would instantly shimmer into existence around him. Fortunately for the mage, in his preparations to withstand the coming fire, it stopped five meters in front of him, right at Odin. The spell hadn't stopped like the last one that reached Odin though. This one seemed to just reach its limit. On its way, it burned through the hall. banners and tables burst into flames. But the one thing left standing was the throne, safely out of its reach.

Seeing the sheer might of the people in the room would have been overwhelming if the young member of the guild had not seen the woes of war that ravaged a land. The fire still gleamed in his eye, and the metal body of greed was shed away by the fire like a knight cleansing what they'd consider sin. War and conflict left his allies in bloody piles in the past. Fighting for a cause and giving their life for it. The fire in his eye was no longer just a reflection of the knight's flame, but his inward vigor to keep this band of wanderers alive and kicking. Nor would he let their goals be quelled. He didn't know their histories...or how both people on opposing sides seemed to know one another, but he was here for a reason.

"Ah, sheesh...Can we turn down the heat a little, C'mon" Jin called out across the battlefield as he still kept a keen eye on what was happening and the flames licked by Odin. Just as the fires washed over Odin and halted there, Hitomi rose her sword, and instantly, lightning appeared overhead. Since he started this encounter behind the throne and had not moved, he was able to see them all. A feeling of relief came over Jin as he saw a powerful spell threatening to crash down, against his enemies. One he could only assume came from Hitomi as it happened instantly as she rose her sword. Thankfully Kon was still within the paladin's sight and so was the arrow that he fired. Jin dashed toward Achlys, evading the S rank arrow. The bolt of deadly mana whizzed by him, gleaming with magical energy. Thanks to the distance it was fired from, he had enough time to evade it. As he landed, thunder would boom. Only...it was not the intruders that would fall victim to the attack. It was them. Jin clenched his fist as the thunder hit him. The armor of light flickered but returned to its full glow. The heavy pressure of the strike would have sent shockwaves through his body. He could still feel the heavy pressure with the armor on. His eyes glared through his short hair, at the opposition, and Hitomi had now made her true allegiance known.  But there was a whole battlefield to keep an eye on.

Luc had transformed into a beast that was three meters taller than normal and began to dash across the battlefield. 'I really stepped in it now,' he thought to himself. Storms, heavens fire, towering lycans, and long-range assassins.

A large magic circle appeared beneath them as Seika brought down fires from heaven once more. Heat pulsed through the room. Odin stepped back to face it head-on and rose his shield. He knew that in order to keep them up, he had to stay on his feet. He bent his knees slightly to be below Odin's height and avoid the onslaught from above as fire rained down alongside meteors. His eyes stayed on the battlefield against the hot wind that blew his hair. Flames opened in the heavens and crashed downward. Odin held his shield as Jin crouched for safety. At that time Luc would have finished their clash with the Summon and been dashing toward Odin, without care. Her immense height would make her far taller than the Lich and thus the Final Flare would hit her first before the spell would be nullified by crashing into the shield.

Then...the heavenly flames were vanquished. Odin's shield met with the attacks from above and cast them out. Fire wafted over his shield and snuffed out the righteous flames like a candle of faith being blown out. Luc was moving in on Odin. For all that had happened today...Jin never expected his first damage to come from someone on their team. Luckily his armor took it all.

With eyes still locked on the threats, he stood back up, in an instant and stomped his foot. Luc had made it across the battlefield to Odin. Just as Luc would Close in on Odin Jin extended his hand behind 8 meters in front of himself, which would be 4 meters in front of Odin. A 16-meter diameter magic circle would appear at Jin's feet and the target location after Achlys's spell would have already arrived and gone off if Kon was hit by it. Within a fraction of a second, a 16-meter diameter barrier of light would appear. Jin, Odin, and Lucretian would be within along with anyone within range. Hopefully, it would interrupt Hitomi's dash so she would be trapped with them as well. Before he casts his spell, if anyone on the intruders' side would move forward, Jin would cast the spell far enough back towards him as to keep, Seika, and Kon on the outside of it and Odin, Himself, and Luc on the inside.

"Let's just take a quick time out okay," he exhaled as if he was exhausted. He planned to address Luc with Odin but kept an eye on what was happening with the others and how they would deal with the shield in the way. It was a small hint of humor amidst the throes of battle. But it kept his mind focused. He knew they would not be able to work things out. All that mattered now was who was going to do something next. Jin was not built to press an offensive, but they were. The scorched earth and walls of the hall served as a reminder that no matter where he went, he always fell into trouble. And now things were going to get worse.

#34Erebus

The Prodigal Son Returns [Caius] - Page 2 Empty Tue Apr 05, 2022 7:12 am

Erebus

Without a doubt this opponent was attestable, his intention imputable, and his power fearsome. The heat alone was something that only added to the sick feeling Erebus found in his body, but when attaining such dark power you fork over comfortable things… You brave a great unknown, heroes are the endearing type, but rarely are they so tragic, as the enemies they cast judgement against.

Eternal Nightmare had lived through pain, in each of its members. Eternal Nightmare understood what loss was, and all of them could probably jest the question of knowing what betrayal feels like. When Hitomi made that decision, it wasn’t as if much changed, but there was now one more opponent to eliminate and it stood amongst them.

The heat was blistering...

Kon first attacks Odin with meteor that leaves Erebus with the intention of getting the hell out the way when another spell is shortly after released heading for him. That one second was plenty though, Kon in the briefest of moments, kicked off crushing and destroying the floor beneath them lunging back to the uttermost possible in a single bound.

Kon had released an arrow almost instantly at Erebus. But that was not enough and the distance was far too much to push Erebus; back increased arrow speed or not— Kon took her max distance in retreat, so to avoid it all together Erebus lunges a small distance out of the way to get his actions together. If Kon’s spell had dealt against him, he would’ve received a frozen blast that would have penetrated through his armor and directly into his flesh before leaving a longer heat upon his broken armor and clothing.

However, before it lands on his previous place, Erebus had lunged out of its line of fire— now standing on a Guild Table 5m away after a short burst of movement at the start of him releasing his arrow. Successfully evading it and moving 5m to Odin’s right— expanding a greater distance from Odin, but retaining the middle of the room. The sound of thunder echoes and a flash later, Erebus feels a deep stinging damage sent through himself, bringing him to lower his body, but he held up.

The Summoner was exasperated with a certain, indistinct hunger. He was unquenched in face of danger against S-rank monsters, however these individuals would fare as the next level for him. It was a poetic war against these Lovers— and Infinity Wolves, but their tribulations in their relationship and doubt in Odin’s plans was not an excuse for them to win, it was Eternal Nightmares' excuse to succeed. Erebus still had confidence behind his gritted teeth.

He summons Bach three meters in front of Seika as he would have done— nothing changes crucially, as he is still able to react to any ambush on his person, but his first movements will be the same as before and he will clash with the sword. Blocked. However, as Seika falls back a meter, Bach touches his chest, and ignites a spell the encapsulates his weapon in a coat of water bubble. Able to bind Seika on the next successful block or strike dealt, and if Seika tried any sneak business, Erebus would use the dash on his armor to cut off the opponent’s play against the Summon.

If and/or when Lucretia would attack, or grab onto Bach, Bach would react accordingly to any timeline changes or surprises forced upon him by the wolf, Erebus made little movement aside from his evasion of the searing arrow shot. He now begins to feel a loose tug on his life, the effects of the vitality drain sap from him, but it wasn’t currently enough to harm him greatly or offset anything—even with the heat on his back Erebus had infamous level of endurance, so these discomforting conditions were pushed down. The rogue was resolute…

The smell of destruction and smoke wafted the room. Erebus was forced now to do one of two things, sit back and watch the field or apply his own pressure. He felt the sting of sweat on the bloodied scrapes of his cheekbone, he must have earned from that lightning bolt that unmistakably zapped down from Hitomi— though Erebus needed to investigate her further and kept his attention peeled for any next action, even if predicting was a foolish attempt, Erebus found himself weighing his chances, praying to Lady Fate.

You’ve saved me before. Save us now. he found himself thinking, as his fingers poked from beneath the the cape’s neck, keeping the remaining arms concealed as usual. He inhaled on the pipe, ready to cast a spell from it at a moment’s notice.

He needed only wait. He needed only let the holes reveal themselves. Erebus was patient. Standing as the nearest possible Nightmare to the obviously powerful trio. The only one too far for him to currently clash with, was likely Hitomi now. Thankfully, even though a third of his life force was taken by her Lightning, he was physically enduring enough to stand from its heavenly fallout.

One thing was certain. The enemy’s power was respectable, but the delivery was what mattered, and so far, Erebus was still laying his own foundations. Erebus notes mentally to keep his wits about himself, but his role was assassin, and that meant putting himself into the line of fire, so that his allies could succeed as they may, and reap their hatred where he sullied as the bait.

Unless interrupted by Lucretia, Bach would respond by stepping forward and striking from the  Right to Left this time, attempting to encapsulate the Rune Knigh with his hand having came to his chest as the spell gesture, angling his body just right to side-step if Seika truly sought to Sword Duel the water Knight today, the main idea was to collide against Seika any way necessary to trap him. Whether he block again, or he simply damaged the Kingsguard.

If he needed to spell clash to sustain it’s survival Bach was capable and ready of that, or point-blank change his target to anyone attempting to rush and kill his entity as he fought sword against sword battle with the prestiged Interim Kingsguard, was of his first priority.

Erebus was primed to close distance if Lucretia intervened. His eyes were on Lucretia who would change form, and if she didn’t explicitly grab Bach by the head or swipe at his form, then Erebus would wait for the ideal opportunity to rush in, whilst evading her damage, and make use of his lightweight dagger blades to escrita his way through her thick black armor. Assuming she was a head on opposition, Erebus was built for fighting foes at close range. He made sure to watch her hand around the spear, as he had a feeling she might thrust it his way, if he lunged too quick.

After his actions had started, by the very end of the timeline… The howling crash of Achlyss’ magic is heard— the archer who dashed backwards to shoot at him only a moment before was being attacked now. Achlyss was a magical phenomena— her power reverberating the intensely hot atmosphere in dark magical vibrations. The scene was pure hell— this was the ultimate league in magical warfare, nation busting individuals, all throwing their most powerful attacks... It was a golden war, gilded at the gates of the Gods.

Erebus could feel the blood in his veins chill. He was the husk of life, and this— the true nature of War seemed to augment his presence. He felt his body relax and his movement get fluid, though— if special attention was paid. You could see his body shivering, he was between both life and death and never thirsty and never fed. Yet, his ability to step intothe ghost realm was very real. If he needed too, Erebus was ready to engage with the forbidden powers of Limbo, and expel at least one body against their side to purgatory. He cared not for games, and he sought nothing but vengeance for his life.

The Rogue was playing a special chess game now, it demanded crucial attention. Erebus was nearly ready to unveil his ace in the hole— special consideration kept his moment on the foreground, but with the anticipation ever expanding, he was nearly ready to combust for all to see…

As the Wanted Man slowly lost his vitality, his healthy state worsened— his smile expanded like that of a demon or a psycho, the etched markings on his face became ever more menacing, bent— squatting now over the ground so low that the slightest movement of this titan would slice your legs clean off your body. He was a monster— in every sense of the word. But he was timing everything on a hope that may never come.

Such is the nature of War…

Lest Erebus die here in vain, he would never let his allies fall, and in that darkplace, his own light began to flicker. Erebus believed in every nightmare, the way every child believes in their dreams.

Kon

Invasion

Pin sized holes littered throughout the entrance wall in various states of damage some charred to a cinder while one was coated in a shine of ice. Truly a stark contrast from the flames and destruction that was occurring within the building and the engulfing rain that fell from the skies as Kon stood posturing towards the Eternal Nightmare building with his bow directed towards its entrance. Even from a distance and through the haze that was created from the fire that blazed inside Kon could “see” everyone clearly. Through a combination of his magic visual abilities from his mana detection to his hawken’s eye he could see further and clearer then almost any other and whereas others would struggle to see him from such a distance he could see them as though they were standing right in front of them. A tingle of pleasure grew upon Kon’s face as all but one of his shots found their target with his meteor shower seemingly being purged by his rival and former friend, Odin.

The arrows had travelled through the wall and created those holes as though it was paper and struck their opponents. That wasn’t to say that they had all been perfect ten out of ten shots, Jin in an almost spark of unseen brilliance or foresight had managed to avoid most of the damage from his arrow only feeling the final licks of the shot, however still enough to apply that nasty lingering rage that would steadily hinder them. Erebus had attempted to avoid it by his arrow that wizzed towards him, only to be struck with little more than a graze. Hitomi, their now ally had been struck without contest or resistance, the damage that she would suffer would be marginal compared to her counterparts.

His satisfaction would be short lived however as an ominous presence grew from behind him corrupting the Singularity that wrapped around his core, the Headpiece of Xorvith which protected his head from not just attacks but also his hair from the rain above him and his ever present Rama’s Bow which still remained glistening from the water droplet that clung to the metal frame and radiated around the fire in front of him. His Golden Prostheses were the only things untouched by the darkness with his right arm merely tickling as it struck the artificial limb. In the briefest of moments, Kon had been engulfed in the darkness, vision unobstructed but still a definitive change of atmosphere, even the weather had been repelled with the pelting of water ceasing as the magic consumed it.

Emerging from the shadow, Kon felt conflicted by the battle between EN and IW, he had certainly given a few good hits out at his opponents but his equipment had taken a significant amount of damage. Having lost his ability to use magic in the first place, Kon had become heavily reliant upon them and losing them might certainly lead to his downfall in this fight. And given the spell had been darkness, Kon could only assume it was the darkness witch who had cast the spell in the first place, undoubtedly hoping to use her feigned expressions of shock and concern to conceal her casting. A true trickster within the tracks of Eternal Nightmare but what could he truly expect within the most notorious Dark Guild in West Fiore. It was clear that she was Kon’s foil in this engagement if he were to maintain his distance while the others presented themselves as the counterplay for Seika and Lucretia.

With distance appearing to offer Kon no advantages moving forward seemed like the smarter play. Afterall if they were going to meet Kon’s giant spells with their own, they were more than welcome to try it while he was right up in front of them. He had the durability and fortitude to withstand blows up close, the real question would they? Given the quick glance over them when they entered the frame his question had pretty much already been answered. As a ruse as to confuse to the now four Eternal Nightmare members with the fifth, Hitomi now either fighting alongside them or fighting them separately using the opportunity to achieve her own goals, Kon shifted ever so slight bringing down his size shrinking down to a quarter of his original size just touching on 40 centimetres or more affectionately to some below the knee for an average adult male. His equipment too had shifted in size with his bow now more closely resembling a short bow, despite his otherwise cuter frame, Kon had remained all as he had been more than capable of creating a hole in a wall with the flick of his finger.

As if compensating for the shorter frame, Kon could feel his heart fluttering a million miles a minute with the force of a beating drum, thump, thump, thump, thump. It was either that or the anticipation for what was to come before him. Before him stood his allies then further onward his opponents while Hitomi had taken up a position behind the very members Kon had assumed were her allies only moments ago. The things people will do in the name of love. At least in this context, Kon respected her decision for doing so, Seika seemed an honest man at least far more so then Odin who had sacrificed his humanity and virility in the hopes to live on. Who would he target amidst this conflict?, many of the members had already been impacted by his bow and would feel its pain throughout the remainder of the engagement.

It was clearly the woman who had attacked him, if he removed her from the spotlight surely Lucretia and Seika would be able to mop up the remainders. Afterall Odin had gone to such efforts to protect her. The tricky part would be reaching her in the first place, particularly given their vast distance and the sheer number of obstacles in his way. All he could do was trust in his allies to support his efforts, Seika at least seemed to be holding off Erebus and he could only trust that Lucretia would do her own share of the work. And so mimicking the actions of a pixie, Kon did the only thing that seemed appropriate given his otherwise valiant efforts to remain at a distance but draw closer and back inside with a dash entirely counterintuitive to moments before returning to just shy a few metres to the left of his original location. Outside a noticeable divot had been made but substantially smaller than the one then the one inside, truly comically.

With his target realised Kon shifted his lock-down with his eye recovering from the rapid release onto Achlys while removing his greater focus from Erebus no longer seeing the value. Now decisively back in range for the remainder of his spells, Kon unleashed yet another volley of spells this time far weaker yet still as swift. These would be nothing more than an annoyance for the Eternal Nightmare members, with his B-Rank, C-Rank and even D-Rank basic shot spells being targeted towards Jin, Achlys and Erebus respectively. An eye was maintained to ensure that he didn’t lose an arrow with an ally in the crossfire, but that would have and should have been assumed regardless of the context.

While he knew he had to approach them head-on charging out particularly from his distance would be foolhardy at best. Suicidal at worst, the interactions at play with everyone going on one another and him jumping in late would only be a hindrance. At least for now he’d stagger his way into a close-combat fray with whomever he decided he wanted to have a taste of his golden fist. That wasn’t to suggest that he wouldn’t be so passive to let another volley strike upon him, no instead the ranger would pull from his helm the wyvern spirit, Xorvith which spiralled around the man in a fit of rage ready to defend him as it resented being on the earthly plane of existence.

The effect does not stack should the target be hit multiple times, however, it will reset the duration of the damage over time. Rama's Fiery Rage is unaffected by additional damage through modifiers.

With Odin's dash coming to an end Lucretia’s movement started up again. She wasn’t about to just stand around while everyone was trying to give it their all. The women's movement was a simple one close the distance between her and the Lich while transforming.

She felt the ripple in her muscles as she launched herself forward, spear bared and ready to go. The first instance of the transformation had her briefly appear as a ten foot tall wolfen woman that was quickly replaced by a hybrid of a lion and wolf. Changing her size from that of a 6’7 woman, to that of 9’7 and finally last but not least of the hybrid of 16’05. Her reach and size were impressive and it was hard to argue that she took up a lot of space.

With the way that she was lunging forward and the speed that she possessed it was unlikely that she would be struck by the arrows Kon fired off given the sheer difference in speed.

Gods were cruel and unusual beings. Truthfully if Humanity as a whole had a creator and that creator had put all of their work and energy into creating a being in its own image, then it could only be said that every negative trait, every positive emotion, every flaw, every boon, they were all products of the original creator. Humanity was a reflection of God's image. As such, would that not mean that God’s were incredibly fickle beings just like their creations?

It was always weird when in religious texts, or harmonious sermons, God’s were placed as these impossibly poised beings. Entities of purity and void of negative traits that could and should be exploited. They were often made to be so impossibly complex, yet incredibly simple, that no mere mortal could possibly understand them. Yet that could not be right, unless God had not actually created a mere reflection of itself. And if that were the case. If the idea that God had created humanity in its image was a lie. Then what else could be said about the creation of everything else?

---

Fate was now actually worried. The board had experienced flaws and phenomenon in previous iterations but in many of those they were minor flare ups. Moments of excitement that passed by in but a blink of an eye. And yet here was this moment on the board. Stretching itself seemingly until infinite eternity , demanding attention even as other pieces moved. Even as other plays were made. These two pieces had seemingly locked themselves in a battle and had now refused to move or change their current state.

Something had changed. The board wasn’t meant to experience a phenomenon like this and yet, here it was.

The board was smoldering.

Whatever creation that existed in this iteration. Whatever plan that Chaos had put forth to spice up the game was now changing it. And what made matters worse for this time around was the simple fact that not even Chaos seemed to know how to fix it, nor where it came from. The actual confusion that had crossed Chaos’ face as she looked up to her sister Deity spoke at a volume that actually scared Fate. They were losing control of the situation. Things were happening that were actually beyond the knowledge and control of Fate and Chaos.

Time burned again and again ad infinitum. Knowledge, History and Truths were all consumed in a flame that was condensed down to a mere board. Things were written, rewritten and then erased all the same as if they were minute details in a grander tale. Lines were woven, crossed, uncrossed, burned, and restitched. Time itself was no longer safe from the flames of fury, truly Fate and Chaos had been blessed with something new to observe.

Glassy eyes filled with cosmos gazed upon and wondered. What truly had changed.

---

Sol had never been intended to be a true God. Most likely a minor Deity that had gained sentience when people had decided to worship its essence. It had never known life before it was born, it did not know the truths of the universe, and it did not understand its own existence. As a being, an entity, it just was, and then it was told. It was told by those above it how it should act, behave, consider, and decide. It was told by those below, how it should reign as a deity over them, what it hailed over, and who its true supporters were.

Sol had never had true will. Had never been truly in control of itself. Of course many Deities shared that history. Most ‘Deities’ were just local entities given power to reign over minor traits in the universal fabric so that the larger and more powerful forces didn’t have to. Being a God of ‘Everything’ was tiring after all. Even Illumin delegated tasks to those below Itself so that It would not have to do them Itself. Though this often led to Illumin being praised for things It had no control over, but that wasn’t Its fault. Its children were just a little too zealous in their praise of their creator.

But when Sol had finally gained enough Prominence in its own Universe to finally decide for itself for once about something. It had not really... made the choice on Its own. No. Not even Its own free will could be considered Its own. How could it? Sol was but a minor Deity in a Universe that was part of a grander scheme of things. Even if Illumin did not care to mete out orders and wishes, that did not mean that those above hadn’t essentially taken their turns stirring the pot.

Sol had wondered what Chaos had wanted from It that day. It was odd to take such attention to detail to one mortal over the countless others It seemed to watch over. And yet Chaos had wanted It to imbue one child in particular with Its essence. Such a thing wasn’t too out of Its realm. Sol wasn’t an Elder Deity, hell It wasn’t even a Major Deity. But being a localized Entity with the power of the Sun meant that it could create a being of such power and prominence that one day it could theoretically rule over Its own homeworld.

But what if Sol wasn’t the only being to impose such power within a single being. What if Sol had merely laid the blueprint for others to build upon the foundation?

Sol could feel the tug upon its very essence. The power struggle between It and Seika was reaching a fever pitch. The beings that Its’ Champion were facing weren’t even powerful in terms of strongest beings on that planet. But something was driving Seika. Something that seemed to supersede all forms of logic and understanding. Wherever Chaos’ plan had been. It worked.

Too well.

--End Plot Shenanigans Here---

What was a person’s Origin?

What made a person truly who they were?

Was it the titles they had garnered over a lifetime? Was it the respect that they garnered, commanded even?

Was it the power that they wielded at their very fingertips that at times made one into the very essence of a God in human skin?

Or rather. Was it their birth? The very nature in which determined who they were, and who they could be.

A Person’s Origin mattered a lot in determining who someone was. A person who was born with the origin of the Wind would always feel that they were never harmed by a breeze, never a moment without air in their lungs. Their life was determined by the air that they consumed and eventually if they became strong enough, were able to become one with the very thing that they were closest to.

A Person’s Origin never changed. Magics change. Whims, change. Ideals change. But an Origin? An Origin is who you are as a person, it defines you. It determines all that you are, and all that you would be.

So how would a person who’s very definition, their Origin fare if their Origin was tampered with?

Seika had always been blessed by the flames. Even before his birth, his mother always claimed that her body was unnaturally warm when she was heavy with his unborn form. There never seemed to be a time in his existence that he did not radiate heat and power.

But what was not known. Was that this heat was unnatural in how it came to be. Surely Sol had blessed Seika greatly with Its essence. As did Ra, Amaterasu, Prometheus, and many others. Deities had come from far and wide to embrace a single being, unknowingly imbuing it with the power and prominence befitting a being that would one day stand alongside them. They had not known that they were all doing this under Chaos’ watch and will. They had not known what their creation and input would create. But what they did know was that this child would be something... different.

Seika’s body burned with intent.

Even as his arms dropped back to their sides. Even as the residual sound of a Thunderclap reached his ears. Even as the flames of his technique died down. Seika’s body burned.

Odin truly believed that he was the one to contain Seika’s will. Temper it with his own great and magnificent presence. And truly if Seika had been any other fellow, any other creature, the mere sight of Odin’s stalwart will and presence would have brought him to his knees.

But Seika was not any of those things.

A single step forward.

Time seemed to warp again. Possibly it was the flames. Maybe it was the intensity. Honestly it could have just been a trick of the eyes. But actions and reactions seemed to once again snap and burn away as time reset itself again. Things that had happened no longer were, and seemingly never would. Those who stood all around Seika understood their role and their actions within the grand scheme of things and now understood where they themselves stood on the totem pole of power and importance.

Seika’s will was not to be contained.

To believe such a thing was the peak of human arrogance. To believe that one could surmount the Will of tampering God’s and heretical Deities was peak hilarity. Of course one could try. One could always do their best to see their own Will’s manifested upon reality in a way that they too could one day stand alongside the one who was destined to be above all but the Creators themselves.

A single step forward.

Seika’s form looked like he was walking. Taking a mere step when in reality he was bounding distances that normal men could not comprehend. In reality he only took a single step forward, crossing a distance of five meters in a time that it took most people to realize he even moved. Blade still in hand, Seika’s body moved forward the distance even as his arms dropped from casting Final Flare. The presence of Odin, Erebus, and the others did not deter him. For he was unnatural. A being of Fire in a world of Mortals.

The flames he conjured were unnatural, burning at a heat and intensity that just being near them scorched the skin, and yet Seika did not allow them to hurt his foes. It was not his will that they be consumed by his children just yet. No. They needed to suffer. To understand. To feel what it truly meant to pay for one's crimes. This fight above all others in Seika’s opinion was tantamount to what his work in Fiore had been all about. Eternal Nightmare truly had given Seika the one thing he had been searching for for years.

A purpose, a reason.

Even as his body seemingly broke the fabric of reality, warping forward five meters in an almost glitching like way that did not seem to fit with how a man of his size and stature should move, the Knight’s mind was running. Plans were being written, rewritten and revised. Ideas were tossed aside as they were no longer necessary.

A Knight? A mere delusion. Seika had never been a Knight. Fiore had never been his country. His work here was not meant to better Fiore, or help her people. It was to find the truth and stop a cursed mark upon the world. And as he stared upon Odin, the foul creation’s stench seemed to permeate all that surrounded him. The others couldn’t see it. They likely even further still barely understood it. The darkness that surrounded the grinning Lich. The man had decided long ago to ditch his humanity for something he deemed greater. And for that, Seika gave him the utmost respect. But it was time for the game to end.

In a single step, Seika had moved himself forward in a position to begin to end all of this, and if he were to be assaulted during his movement, he would respond in kind. It wasn’t hard to imagine. Odin had allies, cohorts, friends, a family. They truly believed the Liches' words when he said he loved and cared for them. So why would they not fight to defend him? Seika also could not fault them for that.

There was no such thing as true Good and Evil. Merely sides of a coin that endlessly flipped. For those that believed in Seika, he was a force for Good. A dominant protector who always worked for those he considered his people and would never lead them astray. But what about those who believed that he was the antagonist? The villain who seemingly worked to keep all of those down and underfoot. Did that not also make him Evil in a way? It was all a matter of perspective if one were honest.

The Knight badge on his hip shone in the flames, reflecting an almost impure and unholy light on those who faced Seika. They would unknowingly be brought within range of its effects as he stepped within range of them, and would one by one feel their strength and power diminish slightly as his presence overtook them. The effect likely wasn’t enough to truly threaten them, but was possibly enough to make them feel weak headed and feeble. Simultaneously, Seika would feel an equal pull on his own person, diminishing his strength and sapping his unnatural essence.

Ah the effects of the Lich. He should have known better. Oh well, it was too late to turn back now.

Forward Unto Dawn as some would say.

The Prodigal Son Returns [Caius] - Page 2 Empty Tue Apr 12, 2022 10:56 am

Odin †

Odin should have known, should have seen it coming. He had witnessed power before, so many times in his life, and he had found himself coming to the same conclusion time after time after time.

Every power has its limits.

Creation was unable to destroy, Destruction unable to create. Fate was tied to its purpose, while Chaos would never understand order. And the Yata no Kagami, the ancient treasure of the Joyan people, could not defy a God.

Sol's power washed over Odin, the Lich unable to stop it even with his unstoppable defence. It burned away at the spells of his allies, burned away at the power gifted to him by Hitomi, and burned away the metallic armour that coated his skeletal form. The latter of which spell, Greed Magic, it was of little consequence to Odin, who could reactivate it at a moment's notice with zero hesitation or deviance from his path. He would do exactly that just as the spell ended, the armour disappearing from Odin's form for barely even an instant. The others, however, would feel the sting of Seika's power.

A blast of sound reverberated throughout the room. For a brief instant, a smirk formed inside Odin's mind. He knew that neither Kon, with his bow of fire; Lucretia, who stood well within range of Odin's vision and hadn't acted; and Seika, who commanded fire with more authority than any the Lich had previously seen, had command over the weather in such capacity. That left only members of Eternal Nightmare, each of whom commanded power in overwhelming quantities...

Pain enveloped Odin's body. The vibrations of the thunder sending a sensation through his body that he hadn't experienced in some time. His magic, the mirror, both worked to never cause Odin pain. He could nullify all forms of damage, it had been some time since he had felt the sting. But that wasn't the greatest pain: he could shrug off the damage even if it was a rare feeling for him. The greatest pain came from the knowledge that someone had betrayed him, and he didn't even need to turn around to know who it was. Erebus was one of Odin's most loyal members, and unless Odin had killed Jin or Achlys' parents and not realised, he didn't see any reason for them to betray him. But one in his group had already broken his trust once, had already shown her commitment to the other side. The Lich didn't know what hurt more: the fact that she had betrayed him again, or the fact that he was stupid enough to be surprised. He had never questioned her loyalty when she returned, even as other member's of the guild did. She had left, and she had returned, and she was forever his daughter.

These thoughts came and passed as suddenly as the thunder, with Odin's focus on the battle at hand bringing him back to the present. He had a guild to protect and he would not falter in that mission. The fire from Seika, as well as the meteor shower sent by Kon, were both devoured by Yata no Kagami. It seemed like Sol could not bless Seika's magic with every cast, and the man's magic was nothing special otherwise. Sol may have been divine, but Seika was a mortal like everyone else, a mortal man with mortal magic, magic that could be reduced to nothingness by the mirror.

But why would Odin stop there. As the fire of Seika crashed against the shield of Joya, so too did the Black Scourge of Fiore finally attack himself. One skeletal hand was raised high in the sky, devouring all that was sent towards the guild. But the other hand was pointing directly at Kon, or at least where the archer had been. Odin didn't have magical sight, he wasn't able to see his old friend extremely clearly at this distance. But he had seen the magic circles, and he could fairly accurately guess the origin of the four different arrows spells that had been fired, using that to pick out the vampire's location. Aiming directly for the centre of the figure in the distance, the Lich unleashed one of his stolen spells, taken from someone he had killed many years ago. Someone who had been known for wielding the same spear that the werewolf now held in their possession.

A bullet shot out from the formed magic circle, moving at incredible speeds towards its intended destination. The biggest mistake Kon had made was assuming he was the only master of ranged attacks. Odin would be more than happy to prove him wrong.

------------------------------------------------------------

In another time, in another place, ripples that could shape the very fabric of reality were starting to tremble. A being, forgotten by many, sealed away in a time long since lost to the annals of history, was beginning to stir. It was too early to say that she was waking, but the actions of the Lich were giving her power, feeding her. The ability of the Lich was to steal the magical power of those around him, but that energy didn't reach Odin. It never had, and no one had ever questioned the Lich on where that power went. It seemed minor, negligible, not worth even wasting the breath on the question.

Exactly as the Lich had desired.

Morrigan had given Odin a new life, a new purpose when he had been at his lowest point, and in return the Lich provided HER with mana from the world around him. The world had changed in the centuries since SHE had walked the Earth, and the world now was richer in Mana. Odin provided that mana to Morrigan whenever with every person he walked past, every step he took in the world. SHE was feeding on the souls of Earthland, and no one even questioned it.

Achlys †

After she cast her Black Hole spell to Kon, Achlys is still able to see how Kon’s arrows flew towards the EN members locations. Once again, fire has attracted her attention, from the same person, Seika. Another power that she never saw before due to her lack of interaction with people. Around the same time, Kon’s arrows landed on Jin, Erebus, and Hitomi, not so far from Achlys. While right in front of her eyes, Odin nulls one of Kon’s arrows that seems to be aimed at Achlys. She gets to see the great power of her guild master right in front of her eyes, the great power of protecting his guild member, the great responsibility that he holds in his arms as the guild master, Achlys is not putting her trust and loyalty to the wrong person.

It all happened so quickly, but the moment that happened, it seemed like slow motion. It feels like time moves differently during some big moment in this fight, because of the adrenaline. Achlys got to witness so many great powers in this room during this fight, but something bothers her a little bit. She can’t quite say who is responsible for the thunder strike earlier, and if she is right, the enemy in front of her is no user of lighting, or at least didn’t use it yet so far. Is there someone else around this area? Achlys can't help but to wonder about that and the only area she never looked at was her back, the area behind the throne. After Odin nullifies the Meteor Shower arrow from Kon, out of curiosity, Achlys dash towards Odin, closing the distance between them and standing right behind Odin with less than 1 meter gap between them. During Odin nullifying Final Flare from Seika, Achlys turns around and looks back to find out that Hitomi already moved all the way behind the throne. Achlys was a little bit confused about why and when did Hitomi get all the way back there, but there is nothing that indicates her as the caster of the thunder spell that hit her earlier. Still confused with the situation, Achlys opens her palm and points it to the air, swinging left and right, back and forward. Like how people pointing their gun towards someone or something they can’t really see, Achlys is doing this as an act of defense. This position is how she cast one of her spells and she is more than ready to cast the spell instantly when she finds out the caster of the thunder spell she’s looking for.

Hitomi Minamoto †
She had closed the distance between herself and everyone else. Her attack was a good distraction on top of everything else that was going on. She didn't know if they knew she was the cause of it but she didn't care at this point. Being as far away as she could be, being thirty meters from where she used to be, and seeing the backs of every member of an eternal nightmare. Her betrayal would not go unnoticed as her tattoo for the second and last time faded from her skin. This fight was not her own and though she loved Seika she didn't start this fight and she wanted no part in it, but it did make for a good excuse to cut ties with the eternal nightmare. Knowing that he would be ok she would wait for him once the dust was settled and he made his way back to her, until then she used her knowledge of Eternal Nightmare's guildhall to her advantage and exited the building with finesse while keeping her distance out of this mess.

#41Jin Tatsumi

The Prodigal Son Returns [Caius] - Page 2 Empty Sat Apr 16, 2022 10:18 am

Jin Tatsumi
Jin had been keeping a keen eye on the battlefield. His focus was on the foes before him. As soon as the flames would be headed toward Odin, he would bring his hand up to his shoulder and swipe across his body. Light shimmered over his body as he cast a full-body defensive spell. The armor was a remnant of his time with the elves and a ready defense for what would come. The sky darkened above in an instant and out of nowhere and thunder would crash down, but Jin's focus was on his allies and the battlefield before him. The thunder collided with his armor of light, leaving his body and focus unphased. Magical circles revealed spells being cast from a distance. Arrows had pierced through the walls of the guildhall glowing with mana.

The arrows were moving at the speed of a pro softball pitch among the chaos of the battlefield. Jin wouldn't have enough time to dash out of the way, but he brought his arm up like he was defending with a shield and clenched his fist, being put on the defensive. In the moments just before the arrow struck, A shield of light would appear on Jin's arm and intercept the arrow. The arrow shattered the shield and pierced into his armor of light and did devastating damage to it. Light shattered off into sparks and flickered, leaving only a dim light that remained. The shield was completely burst and showered across the ground.

He gazed out into the battlefield. Hitomi dashed backward leaving them all standing in front of her. Everyone else began to position themselves accordingly. The only other threat currently was from another thunder strike or Kon's far-reaching arrows. Odin seemed to have the rest under control. Jin approached his teammates, headed toward Odin but staying on the lich's right side.

The archer returned to the room once more with magic circles forming, and another slew of arrows. Having not cast his defensive dome spell, he had it at the ready. Instead, he choose to dash to his right this time and evade the next arrow that moved at the same speed as the first. His dash took him a few meters from Odin's side, and out of the way of any of the other arrows.

Jin would raise one hand to his chest and extend it outward at the space between Odin and Erebus. Warm light would flood the area and explode. A 16-meter diameter explosion would erupt around them. It would deal damage to enemies and heal his allies for S-rank damage. The radiant light would envelop Odin, Lucretia, Erebus, Jin, and Achlys. The eruption of light would happen in a fraction of a second, given that the team was all nearby. With his armor of light in a catastrophic state already, The light mage ceased concentrating on maintaining that spell to conserve energy.

#42Erebus

The Prodigal Son Returns [Caius] - Page 2 Empty Sun Apr 17, 2022 7:41 am

Erebus

This wasn’t undone by time? It was set.

Lightning strikes Erebus though it was painful, he was unpaused because of his endurance and Constitution.

Erebus lifts one hand and drops it at the instant after, the ground ignited 3m in front of Seika in a blue magic circle. Bach is suddenly standing in full armor and rushes the Avatar of Sol. Erebus’ hand had returned to his side and he moved, though slightly shorted on time, Kon’s frosty arrow grazed him on his exit from his placement. He moved to his original destination, following Odin and coming to a stop. The pain of the damage made Erebus grit under the stress of it. He felt a cold chill had grazed him on that exit, the ice would cut his armor off just barely and clink off during the lunge, a chill ran up his back as his cloak ruffled— ice rolling off the blast he’d mostly avoided. More or less though, he was on two feet, he hadn’t taken the force fully. But A-rank Damage tapped on his armor, the rest left frosting his back from the sheer icy temperatures.

Kinda felt good when you consider the heat Seika would be pushing out.

Erebus had enough constitutional testament and endurance to remain standing, phased albeit damaged.

Seika would feel a blade tunnel toward his neck and pierce above his collarbone should he not move in time, and  if it fully extends. A straight jab with a five foot length would decapitate the RK Kingsguard. Erebus in the same moment lunged on Lucretia who was swiping at someone else and would be lit up under a flash of light together with Erebus that he hadn’t expected himself, after the light would transpire or perhaps even while it occurred, the rogue would feel his vitality return using the same rush to engage into attack, he would have planted a fist into the thigh of the Werewolf with a magnitude to shake mountains and then ran his knee upward into her same thigh enough to part oceans and seas, the two daggers were readied defensively and were held to parry the spear, or deflect it if it were thrown mid-lunge. Should nothing else deter him though, he’d finish Lucretia off and stab her with them. Should nothing stop him even now, Lucretia would die within the next second or two as Erebus multiple appendages would react to harm or defend itself without any more delay.

The longer Seika was held back, the better— but Bach would play Seika’s game until it had no life left to fight with. Summoning Magic was different from regular magic, a caster suffered a debuff modifier for them, and as such, they couldn’t be negated— so it was quite likely that Seika would have a surprise if he did nothing in that moment, but regardless, he would have to earn his place under Odin’s Axe. Even if their team’s spells had disintegrated— Erebus’ Knight was a shield that didn’t falter from its point from negation and his summon wasn’t called on purely by the provocation of their spells. Bach would prepare to react to any changes or strikes made by Seika, Erebus was primed to execute Lucretia. If he was knocked out from this point, at least he stood his ground for what he believed in.

#43Kon

The Prodigal Son Returns [Caius] - Page 2 Empty Tue Apr 19, 2022 11:31 am

Kon

Invasion

A truly awe-inspiring display appeared before Kon, a storm contained solely within the guildhall itself revealing the strengths of the gods and bearing down upon all of the Eternal Nightmare members save for Hitomi. It seemed that love had won out with them seemingly turning their back against who would have been her comrades. The show of force had reminded him of days long gone past, leaving the briefest of smiles upon his face, it was a sign, of him using a simple feat when the divide between him and his former friend grew. In combination with the flames and darkness used by the various members in the conflict, Kon was almost brought to tears, well a tear with his left tear duct being torn from his eye years earlier.

Before Kon now stood four opponents all charred from the lightning charged spell from above, three of whom seemed worse for wear as their mana steadily leeched out into the ether, the leader of the four meanwhile presented no signs of their mana leaking. The woes of defending the guild master that actively worsens someone over time. An amusing situation to say the least, however, it was certainly not time for the man to laugh, particularly as he was about to join his teammates properly. Achlys and Odin had already presented themselves as foils and counters to him, it only seemed appropriate for him to engage them properly.

It was another beauty but only one he could fully comprehend, the waves of elemental mana leaving their bodies in a cascading aura. In combination with the flames licking upon their bodies, they were like candles in the guildhall radiating light contrasting the darkening outside. It would only be a temporary sight but wasn’t anything beautiful only around for the briefest of moments. The ramifications of the show before him would be a bit more long-lasting, simply repairing the hall would certainly take Odin and his guild quite some time. The wounds sustained certainly just as long.

Realizing the time for action was now, Kon shifted his body, bringing up his hand going top to bottom shrinking down to size, struggling to reach above an average adult man’s knee. Amidst the various distractions, his sudden change would only worsen his rival’s ability to see him. Though if he did see him in such a state, perhaps he’d get a laugh out of the sheer ridiculous nature.

Wounds which undoubtedly become greater and greater as the fight continued, and Kon certainly would have a hand in worsening them. Plus a little payback was due particularly against that little dark Vicken next to Odin. It was truly engaging them would bring down the wrath of the lich, but ranged attacks proved fruitless so far. And so in his diminutive form, Kon kicked off ahead, with his spirit hovering between them and Kon’s foes. This position would be in his favour as a spell from his rival raced towards him tearing a hole into the spirit. Pleased with the possibility of returning back to its original plane of existence, the spirit roared in delight, savouring the damage sustained.

“Huh, interesting.” Kon briefly thought in the instant between his first dash and second shorter dash towards Achlys. Armour protected her fine frame, however like her peers, their head was naked to the elements. Using the momentum from a half-finished dash, Kon jumped a great height striking them on the head with the fist many times smaller than normal. The punch itself would be devastating albeit to the localized area shattering their defensive spell, creating a hole the size of a dime while the remaining force irradiated through the head of their head, damaging all the tissues within their delicate skull. As Kon dipped down from the extended height, he followed up his attack by striking them on the opposite side of their face with their bow arm leaving another divot in their pale skin

The effect does not stack should the target be hit multiple times, however, it will reset the duration of the damage over time. Should the target be hit by a spell ranked lower than the highest-ranked damage over time applied to a target, it will not decrease the damage. Rama's Fiery Rage is unaffected by additional damage through modifiers.

Or dodge it.
    land.

Everyone’s actions here reflected the struggles and training that they underwent; from humble beginnings to those of noble descent it was hard to really pinpoint who was what among the crowd. At least to Lucretia who viewed every person in here as equally a threat to her. She treated her opponents with the utmost respect thus her inclination to being friendly in the initial moments of the conflict.

But that being said.

Did not hold her back in the slightest during the fight that was to come. The conflict seemed to move sluggishly as though almost in slow motion. Everyone doing so much, reacting with superhuman speeds that would leave most people that were considered average in the world reeling. Not being able to comprehend what this group overall was capable of.

Reflecting on this during a battle would be suicide but for many those thoughts would come likely after the battle once everything was said and done. In the here and now however all you could do was react or act. Lucretia was the sort to do both; go with the flow if you will.

The magic from Jin was annoying since there was no real way for her to avoid it if she kept going as she was. The size of the spell would mean even if she arrived at her destination that she’d still take the impact of the spell.

When Erubus’ first blow struck her armor the womans momentum ceased. Her attention had been grabbed immediately by the impact. Icy blue eyes with golden rings around them flicked down to where the blow had come from. Her attention was gained as the second strike landed against her armor; a combination of Jin's and Erubus' effort had broken apart her armor but in doing so they had both earned her Ire.

It was as though by pure instinct and reflex that her offhand came to be in a backhanded strike. Almost considered lazy to most but still with the furious strength that would shatter even the most stalwart of defenses. With her momentum and attention diverted to Erubus the follow up to her backhand was a sweeping blow from her spear. A single instance of that weapon more than enough to shatter either of the weapons that the warrior that had met her with. Maybe even go straight through the weaker of the two.

Seika
The God’s lay silent if only for a moment. The board before them shook with a violent fervor as the two opposing pieces continued to face each other in absolute defiance of one another. It was interesting to witness such a spectacle. Even as multitudes of other pieces came and went. Exploding violently upon the board like miniature hand grenades, the two sat quietly, pensively, as if daring the other to move. It was almost as if neither piece were a pawn on this game board, but rather two King’s daring the other to move first and make the great mistake that would cost them their lives. Fate and Chaos no longer held control over what could potentially happen from this point forward, however Fate knew that this was of Chaos’ design. It always was. Chaos was always pulling some sort of stunt or ploy to get the upper hand in their ‘games’ but this one. This one had gone too far.

---

Seika’s body glitched in the world of the living. The movements of the embodiment of fire, heat, light, power were as unnatural as they were smooth.. His figure seemingly glided across the floor as he moved forward from his starting spot with little fanfare or indication of doing so. This movement still however, wasn’t to the surprise of his opponents, many of whom still acted accordingly. One in particular, the four armed assassin named Erebus, had deemed it necessary to send him a small gift. The motion of a hand being waved was the only indication that something was coming Seika’s way just before a magic circle appeared before him. Hands already clenched around the handle of his blade as he prepared to parry or disperse whatever was coming his way. It was not to be, however, the figure coming to life behind him merely stood there, its creator and controller no longer issuing commands as he had already moved off to dedicate himself to other tasks. This meant Seika had been left with a lifeless golem, larger than he was by a meter and some change.

Frowning at this development, Seika wasted no time as he had arrived at the Golem’s location even as it was summoned, blade already out of its sheath and slicing through the figure before his feet would even touch the ground. Seeing as the golem was made of sturdier materials than that however, Seika would continue to cleave into the formation, striking massive chunks out of it while its creator was busy until it dispersed back into a cloud of mana. This effort took very little time at all, in fact each of the four strikes had been as swift and sudden as the first one he had made while still moving. This did not mean however that he hadn’t been held up by this engagement. Erebus was already moving off to engage his partner in combat leaving Seika to once again move forward in the same dashing step past the still dispersing cloud of mana. Seika’s face held the same calm it had held the entire engagement up to this point so far, hidden behind the cold ferocious ceramic metal plating of his helmet. While his actions said otherwise, his eyes had never left Odin’s form not even once.
Combat Information

Combat Summary

  • Took a single step forward (Dashed 5 meters)
  • Dealt 4 S-ranks of damage to Bach while he wasn’t moving due to not being given any instructions by Erebus
  • Took another single step forward (Dashed another 5 meters)

Calls

Once again Erebus did not define any actions for Bach after properly summoning him this time. Thus he did not move from his initial summoning location. And since he wasn’t given any commands from Erebus the entire time of Erebus’ actions after that, Bach wouldn’t be able to defend himself from any of my attacks as well.

The Prodigal Son Returns [Caius] - Page 2 Empty Fri Apr 29, 2022 1:04 pm

Odin †

The shakings, the stirrings, they began to scream louder. No one could hear this of course, but some could feel it.

An indulgent noblewoman in Era's High Gardens district stopped in the middle of a meal, something no one in her retinue had ever seen her do, and likely would ever see again. She paused, sniffing the air, feeling the pull of her magic. This hunger, the power she had been blessed with all those years ago, she felt it build for a moment. She tried to go back to her meal but, for the first time in her life, she could not. A reverberation echoed throughout the world, unnoticeable to anyone around her but her. Her and, Cornelia realised, two others, scattered throughout the world.

Through the bustling forests of the newly established tribal nation of Bosco, a disgraced Prince also felt it. It burned inside him something fierce, causing him to lash out and kill the man that had previously been relaying a simple report of the country. The anger passed as suddenly as it had arrived. There was no building rage, no suppression required, it simply came and went in an instant. He knew the only thing it could mean and, needing to take his mind off the politics of his country and the power that made him who he was, he descended the stairs of his fortress. He walked towards the large room he knew so well and entered the training ring with his thirteen guards, all personally trained by him, and none ever able to defeat Sigmund. They all attacked at once.

The final man, oceans away and sitting in his office in the ancient nation of Caelum, coins clinking around him, felt it too. Ledgers were sitting open before him, each detailing how the country's finances operated, and each hiding innumerable ways in which this man was stealing from the country. It was the only thing that could ever cause him to look up from the books, the only thing that could take his mind away from his role in the country. He stepped to the ceiling-high window, and looked over the capital city of Caelum. He reached into his pocket an pulled out an ancient coin of immeasurable value, his lucky coin. Edward knew the world was changing, and he would need to be prepared.

None of them yet knew that a fourth person could feel these changes. They had been three for so long, decades it felt like, and none expected a fourth to ever reach their lofty heights. But one being was knocking at their door. No, not knocking. He was obliterating the door, and tearing the walls downs around the three. Someone who wouldn't just stand beside them, but above them. And they would never live to see his glory.

------------------------------------------------------------

With spells turned to dust around him, and his own counterattack fired at the man he once called friend, Odin had nothing more holding him to the spot. He, in that moment, possessed the one thing that Morrigan too would soon receive at the Lich's hands.

Freedom.

And he had no intentions of putting it to waste. Odin would kick one foot backwards, magic swirling around his feet as a magic circle surrounded him and propelled him where he wanted to go: towards possibly his greatest, and newest, foe. It was time for him to move to the offensive. He had his axe held in front of him and shield in his arms, the axe ready to slash whenever the need came while his shield hand was free and ready to act as another weapon. The mirror of Joya was still strapped to Odin's radius bone, but that didn't mean he had to grip it when it wasn't being used. The armour of Greed also surrounded his body, ready to react even without the knowledge of the Lich to any and all attacks that were sent his way. Physical damage would never cause his undoing, and he was ready to put his opponent's on the defensive.

He would reach Seika in less than an instant due to the power he stole from Kazimir, but he had no intention of simply standing around and doing nothing once his destination was reached. The moment he came within range of his foe, the blade of the axe began to fly. A flick of the wrist was all it took from Odin, due to the axe being held out already, to slash the axe across the torso of the rune knight. Whether he collided with and attacked the man's sword or struck a devastating blow across his chest mattered little, it was time for the damage to be dealt by the Lich.

Achlys †

It’s surprising and hurting for Achlys so see Hitomi run away. This is the first time Achlys feels and experiences a betrayal from her fellow guild member, and during this fight? She can’t understand what’s going on in Hitomi’s head, but this betrayal really annoyed her. Achlys turns back and steps aside, looking back towards the fighting zone. Right when she turns out, she sees Odin cast a spell and then he dash away from Achlys. Achlys realizes that parting from Odin is now the safest option for her, so right after Odin starts his dash, Achlys lunges back from her position. As she lunges back, she notices how her body feels some of her energy get back to her. She is well aware of her power and this thing only happened if her spell hit someone. With this energy returned to her, it confirmed that her spell hits Kon for sure. When Achlys finishes her lunge, she does another two more lunges, one as her full range and the second one is halved. Those lunges take her all the way 21 meters behind the throne, 25 meters back from her previous position.

In her current position, Achlys can see everything and everyone clearly. She is now standing on the first step of the stairs 20 meters behind the throne. Being able to see the whole area, Achlys is ready for anything or anyone that will come at her. She can see the whole area, she can see everyone in the area. Seeing how all of his friends are doing their best to fight their enemies. But on the other side, all of her enemies also seem like they are doing their best. Being able to see all these people in person and their amazing abilities, Achlys feels like this is a great opportunity of a lifetime, and this might be her one and only chance to experience something like this. Achlys being really focused to see and observe the fighting area and everyone around her, make her ready to react to anything or anyone that might come at her.

#48Jin Tatsumi

The Prodigal Son Returns [Caius] - Page 2 Empty Tue May 03, 2022 3:58 pm

Jin Tatsumi
Jin landed from his dash as the arrow whizzed by him. He was starting to get a good footing on how the enemy was battling. His attention was widespread, but his comrade's collision with the werewolf caught his eye the most. The eruption of light had dealt some damage and in doing so, sent of healing surge through the paladin's body. He could see the wounds on his comrade heal as the four-armed warrior met the towering beast. He knew he needed to support his ally that had taken the brunt of the assault so far. Jin pulled his hand back to his hip immediately and his other hand pointed at Erebus like a finger gun, while he began to dash to the right.

Jin quickly thrust his left hand forward from his hip. A magic circle appeared around the light mage and light shot forth from his hand, covering the distance toward Erebus and Luc in less than a second. An 8-meter diameter circle would appear around the two and erupt in Light. The eruption would heal any allies caught in the area by 1 A-rank and deal 1 A-rank damage to Luc and any other enemies within the range. Almost one after the other, he fired the second spell, that would reach Erebus as soon as the eruption was gone. A 2-meter beam would hit Erebus and heal him for 1 A-rank worth of damage. If any limb targeted damage would have come in before Jin cast "Band-Aids and Splints," then he would use that spell to heal his own limb/injury.

A few swift strikes broke through the armor. As the light mage was casting his spells he would dash 5 meters to the right. The spells would go off as he just began his dash, as to not alter the distancing. His small movement would put him to the right side of the entryway that he was half-facing and to the right of all his allies.

#49Erebus

The Prodigal Son Returns [Caius] - Page 2 Empty Wed May 04, 2022 11:23 am

Erebus

Lucretia’s reflex of her offhand readied Erebus’ attention to the advantage, Lucretia shifted her body and did it lazily to a point her movements were a prediction to the rogue, while a gold light emanated from a seal on the earth; Erebus on the assault would react in kind. At the climax of Lucretia’s charged backhand or her pull back in general, Jin’s seal around them went off and before the instant she released her backhand towards him, Erebus would be healed and she was damaged. Whether the spell shorted her swing speed or not wasn’t of importance, as the spell’s vitality boost was just in time, a fractal of a second later and Erebus went intangible to avoid her attack, to perform his escape.

His daggers were raised up defensively, but his next trick didn’t involve clashing weapons at all; his Courpsemourn had activated. Erebus instantly phases through the arm and to the back of Lucretia’s waist, her momentum heading in the opposite direction he’d evade from. He strikes her thigh, with simultaneous hand movements gesturing his spell Bach, now in the same instance of DMG calculation against Seika. He controlled Bach as he landed.

Erebus hadn’t slacked in working Bach against Seika, pushing the hand forward and flicking his index in a sweep, the Knight realigned itself and thrusted a straight for Seika’s neck, using the moment it took first damage to create the illusion it was inoperable, but mid the second strike that Seika took Bach would fight back. At close range and mid-attack, this avoidance would be next to impossible for Seika because Bach would take the damage and use that interval to lock Seika close; it attempted to move it’s body in an maneuver and hold the blade between its arm and chest— in the same catch of the sword, it rotated it’s his hip and pulled on Seika, thrusting it’s own mass backwards to take Seika off his feet; Bach’s free hand which held it’s sword thrusted straight and instantly on the pull back in a masterful motion that was taking place in the same motion as the pivot, Bach sought to end the fight by disarming and simultaneously stabbing the foe with a vital shot in the window of time he’d taken to throw arc-like physical strikes at the summon.

If it struck with precise accuracy, it was to sever muscle around Seika’s neck, it would potentially skewer his body clean. Bach’s sword length is enough to kabob the Kingsguard being 5 feet in length, in the space between them, against a stronger giant, Seika lacked the opportunity to escape Bach now. Too have gall in using a wild four swing flurry attack on an S-rank monster with no defensive preparations was a fool’s gambit, and not expecting it react too? Such a novice error if there ever was one.

Oh how Sol would see Bach thrusting blade between it’s avatar’s chest! The evil in the room seemed to reverberate under the Summoner’s dark motives.

Fate claimed it’s piece on the board now it seemed.

Bach now with his own blade, as said was jabbing his sword as a straight, a physical blow towards Seika’s neck right above the collarbone— should Seika have tried to duck left or right, Erebus would make sure Bach moved with fluidity by gesturing his hand. If needed, Bach would be ready to react defensively and in at any hesitation.

Erebus would have been out of range of the Assegai spear at the end of his turn so the rest of Lucretia’s attack is yet to go through or at all. Erebus would have done all this in a span of a second or two, a simple phase and command of the summon. The actions were simple enough, the rest yet to be seen. With visual sight ahead at Seika, Erebus too would be ready to react to any changes in the coming moments.

Basically,
Erebus is healed (+1 A)
Erebus activates Phase -450MP
2 instances of damage (3 A, and 1S) on Lucretia
Expanded my description on what is being done with those “free hands” you think I wasn’t going to use, and reacting with my summon, since you can’t just autohit. I take the first and the second strike on Bach, I will catch Seika’s weapon between his arm and attempt to pull it back, Bach’s weapon hand will be jamming a sword at Seika’s neck for a vital hit K.O.

(Jabbing or straights do win against hooking motions or slashes in terms of speed, which you described Seika as knocking chunks away with each strike. A straight punch hits true for Boxing faster against a hook or angular punch, and in sword striking, a sword will pierce faster than a slashing maneuver. So in this case, my argument is I’m quicker based on the actions we both proceed with.)

— Seika was on hiatus for 5 days, so I have a skip I can call. However, I just want this to be said and addressed, this makes 4 posts someone’s attempted preventing me from playing on the basis I missed a line of description before a timeline completed. It may not bother anyone else, but for me, this is an incredibly frustrating experience. Simply don’t skip me, address what you want to address in the combat tab, you weren’t even in danger, but as opposed to just “defending” against my summon you “skipped” all my actions placed for you, and I take that personally. It’s disrespectful.

Anyways, without further complaint, I’m hitcalling for Seika’s defeat— leaving Lucretia and Konyo to fight the rest of us. My post before this one would be the set up of this deliberate action, as it indicated the character’s mental plan to do what I finalized in this post here with gestures, Seika doesn’t prepare an alternative timeline where he even reacts defensively— rip Seika.
Jin’s next spell is coming towards me now; it would likely hit me at the start of my next post.

TLDR.
Everything you need to know is in this post, it’s clearly fleshing out the actions of my post before it. All my gestures are written and all my actions are avowed.

Instead of being skipped, Seika hadn’t posted after 5 days before telling us he was sick. He then proceeded to skip me on his very post after he’s been gone for days on end. So I’m skipping him, I’m the one in calculation and it’s my call on the side of my team since it’s damage calculation involving me and my assets. Clearly, he has no alternative defensive timeline prepared in his post. My actions were clear as my intentions, he’s already out of pocket to be gone days on end and try me that way, it’s disrespectful. Sick or not you don’t wait after the fifth day to make it known to us, and then jump to some conclusion you have the control of the timeline as standalone player to instant my damage— I’m still in timeline on the both of you and Lucretia, and when it comes to Seika speed and Erebus’ as well Bach’s, statistically you don’t measure to S-rank beyond speed. I’ve been trapped for over a month in this thread dealing with the most outlandish things. You guys need to research forms of power play and compare it to Seika’s style, stop letting him judge his own fights, it’s clear he has purely an intention to win over being fair and I’m the one constantly called into question here? Imagine, he keeps calling a lack of description into question on me, to distract from the fact that he just didn’t want to fight that fight.

Erebus to KO Seika, Hitcalls made.

Powerplay
the act of using knowledge and or information against someone else in order to gain advantage in an intense situation.

Powergaming is the act of using an in-game mechanic, any external information, or a roleplay concept to favor their own character or story, and give them an unfair or unrealistic advantage in PvP.

The Cure For Seika:
Be inclusive with your interactions, pay attention to your roleplaying partners, and make sure you're giving as much as you're taking away. A “good” roleplayer doesn't need to write novels to be good — they just need to be involved, and make sure their partners are involved too.

Kon

Rewind Time

The truth had been far more bittersweet than he had truly realized with the crackling laughter from the wyvern originating not from its own self-destructive nature but instead savouring its own master's woes. The defensive spirit’s presence had only, in reality, come into being after the colossal dark projectile struck the diminutive Konyo’s bow, damaging the already weakened bow and causing it to develop further cracks upon the golden weapon unlike those he had ever seen with a nine hero relic weapon. The damage it had sustained through the conflict had been devastating, but nonetheless, it still preserved throughout the onslaught it had sustained.

In reality, Kon couldn’t remember a time since he or even his equipment had to endure such damage in that short of a time. What had confused him was Odin’s possession of Darkness spells in spite of seemingly not possessing a hint of dark magic within him, instead having an earth aura around them. It had been something he could hardly avoid with the ball nearing five-time his in size and travelling at speeds relative to his bow’s own arrows. Perhaps it was related to the strangely fleshy eye they possessed compared to the rest of his decayed boney body. An augmentation that he had spotted as the fight had begun but had gone unnoticed until now.

Beads of sweat would have been clear for all to see if he had not been wearing armour instead a simple sheen developed upon the sparse sections of his body unprotected by his armour glistening from the flames all around them. Hit by the darkness projectile or not, Kon’s efforts to assail Odin’s comrade, Achlys would not be stopped or even diminished instead requiring minor alternations to his original attempts. With Kon still dashing towards his demonic foe and jumping upwards to strike them on their head amidst their distracted state seemingly focusing upon her former ally, Hitomi then her guild master, Odin. Their defensive spell shattered like glass, his follow up strike would have less success with it instead touching nothing by air instead of his opponent with them dashing back making their escape back towards the stairway.

With Odin no longer offering their services as their shield from Kon’s own barrage but instead focusing his attention upon Seika, little could aid them now. Even as the ranger began to fall from his extended leap of 5 meters aided by his helmet, Kon drew back upon his damaged and tired bow; unleashing something akin to what had first started this same very fight upon his daemonic foe as they retreated. This great ball of fire dwarfed that of Odin’s which could be compared to a boulder and a pebble, yet each shared the same properties in speed and range. His, however, would find his opponent unguarded by weapon, shield or defensive spell. Bound in destination, Achlys would be helpless from the attacks following her retreat, unable to respond or counter as they made their vain attempts to retreat.

The damage to the Eternal Nightmare’s building would also be far more extensive than the original meteor with Odin being unable to stop the hurdling ball of magma from tearing away at the stairway and beyond. The structural damage meant little to the ranger with him being far more focused on defeating the daemon. His attacks would be unrelenting with him continuing his assault even as the ball blocked normal view between the two individuals. Immediately after as the meteor formed from his bow, the ranger drew back once more sending a searing shot separating the two spells by only a few inches. Obstructed vision or not, Kon’s Hawken’s eye more than made up for her concealed appearance in those briefest of moments. This piercing arrow would tear through both metal, cloth and flesh all in a single blow finding its target in the woman’s heart, assuming they had a heart. It had been a long time since Kon encountered a daemon and he wasn’t entirely sure whether they still had organs.

Touching down upon the ground and the ongoing chaos between his allies and the other foes around him, Kon all but ignored them trusting Seika and Lucretia wholeheartedly to defeat Erebus, Odin and Jin. He let loose yet another arrow upon his target matching the fearsome speed and ferocity of the last two, however mimicking none of their unique traits in size or penetrative effects. Knowing his diminutive figure would only hinder him in the fight were it to take too long, Kon as he began to dash towards his opponent instead began to grow to full size allowing the singularity to return back into his armour. His wyvern meanwhile presented itself behind the ranger, clinging to their scaled armour as he focused his attention on the Daemon, whose fine figure remained concealed through the thick smoke revealing only their silhouette amidst the harsh lighting conditions that he and his allies had created.

With his equipment tattered in ruins and bow being the few sources of damage, Kon would need to favour something a bit more up close and personal. Just as he had done a moment prior he would launch into the Daemon with a punch from his golden prosthetic right arm to the chest shattering their rib cages and bringing their heart to a dead stop as his metal fist extended past the woman’s unprotected chest and passing through to the other side. The carnage created would be awe-inspiring, causing him to recall the days when he cut down countless men and women in the wars years prior.

Should the target be hit by a spell ranked lower than the highest-ranked damage over time applied to a target, it will not decrease the damage. Rama's Fiery Rage is unaffected by additional damage through modifiers.

Durability: Indestructible

Speed: +60
