Brone Heavyaxe
Brone Heavyaxe was informed by one of his lieutenants that there was a report of highwaymen that were committing robberies in Sigmundir Pass. When asking the informant of the location of the bandits, he gave a set of coordinates that the dwarf had trouble comprehending. Gnicholas the gnome had left Paradise Dawn for a personal quest and had not mentioned when he would return. When asking Benimaru if he could help guide him through the pass, the oni spirit possessing the sword and shield simply said he wasn't good with mazes.

"Why don't you ask your lieutenant to guide you?" Benimaru asked, seeing how hesitant the dwarf was.

"I already told 'em that knew the way" Brone stubbornly said as he sat on his bed and looked out the window. Benimaru sighed, understanding the dwarf's pride would keep him from asking for help from the lieutenants, or any of his troops since word would get back to the informant.

Brone hesitated from asking the ravens to help him; though they can help him locate the the bandits, they tend to vanish when battle starts and they would return on their own will. So even if Brone would defeat the bandits, he would have to wait until the ravens returned to find him before he could escape the maze of the Sigmundir Pass.

Then an idea struck him; "Kaito!" he quickly ran to the main hall to where the receptionist was and asked her to send a message to Kaito on the lacrima stone that he was requesting for his help to deal with a group of highwaymen and to meet him in front of the guild hall. With that, Brone donned his full set of armor, including his new gray-blue armor and his weapons before walking out and waiting in front of the guild hall for his friend to appear using his Hear-and-There magic.

Kaito who had been just walking around and not really thinking just walking as the Exceed at his heels was talking to him about how he needs to think about settling down soon and at least having one child while he is a bit younger so he can properly train him or her then if need be the older one could help him in training the younger ones that came after if Kaito had more and he sighed as he was not one for even thinking of settling down as there was still much to be done and he was not sure that he really was the one that can find someone for something like that. Then he heard that he had been summoned to the north once more as Brone needed his help with some bandits or highway men in the pass and that he was to come to the guild hall in the north and so with a wave of his hand a gate opened and Kaito and the new Revy walked into the portal and to the north the went. Kaito and Revy walk out of the portal and in front of what Kaito thinks is the front of Paradise Dawn guild hall and Kaito looks for where Brone might be standing and waiting for him as the message that he had gotten had been just to come to the guild hall's front not really where the guild hall front was to come too as he was not sure which side of it was the front but he had taken a guess and hoped for the best.

Brone had exited the main building and took a look around. After a few moments, Huginn had flew down to land upon his shoulder, "Kaito appeared in front of Main Hall building."

"What? Why? This is the main building where visitors are suppose to appear" Brone grumbled as he quickly began to jog back into the building and make his way through the corridor-like bridge that led to the Main Hall building.

"That's your fault, you said to meet in front of the 'Guild Hall', which can be any of these buildings; Kaito is able to appear anywhere, so it's not surprising he may not know where the entry building is" Huginn said with tone that belittled the dwarf's intellect before flying away. Brone grunted in irritation, knowing the raven was correct, he wasn't about to complain.

"Sounds to Kaito appeared at the building" Benimaru chimed in. Brone had forgotten the possessed weapon and shield was on his back. When he speaks to Huginn and Muninn, he tends to make sure no one else is around to hear him in case he might accidently break the oath. Concern came to him as he wondered if Benimaru was able to understand what Huginn said, but truth be told, the oni spirit only made out the truth by what Brone had said and his reaction in running towards the next building over. Brone didn't answer the oni spirit and Beni understand to a degree that whenever the dwarf would speak to the ravens, he could never mention or even speak about the conversation to anyone else, "Kaito probably doesn't know where the front of the guild is; for all we know with his ability to appear anywhere, he may not even know how to open a door" the spirit chuckled which made the dwarf laugh.

When Brone appeared in front of the Main Hall building, he spotted Kaito and a feline, "Oy! Kaito! good to see ye!" he called to his friend. When he closed the gap, he spotted the feline and wondered if Revy got replaced, "Ah, Kaito, ye got a new cat, huh?" He said though he was careful with his words. Last he heard of Revy, she fell ill, now he was concerned, wondering what was Revy's fate.

"I see there you are took you long enough after I was sent that message to come here nearly thought you got lost at your own guild hall." Kaito laughed at his own joke, The exceed got closer to Brone and looks at him and smiles. "I am Revy just reborn." The exceed rubbed the back of their head and laughed nervously as they would probably end up having to dig deeper into this and explain it some day but today was not that day as she still had a lot to do and she was ready to see these bad guys that Brone had called them to come and help with as they must be strong for the right hand man of the northen guild Paradise Dawn to have to call for help From Kaito the most famous mage in the country.

Kaito starts walking not really waiting for the group to make up their minds as he was ready to go and take them out before they end up killing someone or worse turned them to slaves for some extra profit on the black market as the north even with this guild here was a rough place that had it's own hidden things still going on in that background.

"Miscommunication, that's all" Brone waved it off with a simple excuse, hoping no one tried to dig deeper into how the dwarf got the areas of the guild hall mixed up, "Revy!? Oy, Lass, yer back! I'm so glad! and ye look beaut, little one" the dwarf was excited to see that the feline had fully recovered, though he wasn't too surprised by her change in appearance since it wasn't the first time he had witnessed a big physical change amongst his friends; even he himself could be mistaken to be someone else given that he had lost his brown hair color and now has two additional arms that tends to hide beneath his large white sash that keep wears around the midsection of his body.

As Kaito began walking off, Brone followed, not arguing the promptness, for he himself has always been a bit impatient, "So there are bandits that have been causing problems in the pass, the only problem is that I have trouble getting through that maze; thanks for helping out, Kaito" though that was indeed his main reason, he was too embarrassed to say that he also wanted to spend a bit of time with the dragon slayer, given that he rarely sees him, except for when World-Ending situations happen.

Eventually they would leave the guild hall and descend from the cliff down into the pass just as the sun was beginning to set.

Kaito was surprised that the dwarf said that he had troubles with the pass Kaito figured the man that was of the race that lived in mountains would probably be the best guide to lead people through the pass as they are pretty much just paths carved into the walls of the mountain but he guessed that he can't talk like he himself is some big shot as he was also one to get lost from time to time but his wandering is a bit more out of this world so he justified his dimensional wandering and getting lost less of a getting lost and more him finding new ways to get around and places to see. "I hope they have their affairs in order as they might have limited time left." He moved his arm as if he was swinging a sword his gear appearing on himself and he kept walking.

Revy hurried after them as they were headed into the pass and she wondered if this bandits were going to really warrant the two of them to take them on but she was ready herself to transform and take on them on along with them as she was not just that sad little squishy exceed anymore she could do so much more now and she could fight on her own now and maybe be able to even bad odds if there was such a thing vs Kaito and Brone as she doubted they would have anything big enough to take them on together yet alone if they had just been alone here. She looked at the pass's passages as they went into the area and she wondered if these bandits had traps sitting in wait for them. "Almost like were are walking into a totally different world compared to the more open and forested north huh?"

The Pass had always confused the dwarf, which was why he usually had someone directed his through it. The only thing he could remember of it would be the entrance to the pass, but further on was simply confusion. "And if they don't have their affairs in order, then that's on them" Brone chuckled as he watched Kaito's armor materialize onto him.

"The rocky terrain is more comforting to me than all that greenery" The dwarf commented on Revy's statement. Though the forest could be peaceful, it was the rocky terrain that he felt more at home with; the dirt, gravel and sturdiness of the rocks gave him stability, but the shrubs and soft dirt of the forest floor was too soft for him to properly move through along with other problems such as the bugs.

The pass had a main path in which they followed which made sense to traverse since highwaymen tend to be watching such roads for travelers, so the dwarf decided to follow said path. Every so often, the dwarf would focus on certain areas where he would assume bandits would be hiding for an ambush; this was proving difficult without his ravens to guide him, but he made sure to keep them away from this task so he doesn't end up accidently providing information to Kaito that would ultimately forfeit his pact with the birds.

"So Kaito, what's been new with you and what's new in Fiore?" He asked, wanting to pass the time along with conversation. He figured it would be nice to ask about the world given that he is usually stationed in the north.

Kaito nods to Brone speaking about the bandits being at fault if they didn’t have their affaires in order, but Kaito knows he doesn’t have his own affairs in order so he was not really one that should be talking as he also needs to do such a thing as really he has nothing that would be passed down to children as he doesn’t have children so the list of things people would be able to gain from him and his death are pretty slim as most of his stuff the merchant will probably take off of him upon his death to resell to others without anyone being able to stop him from doing it but he guessed that this was going to be a long day as he was not sure if walking in overly ready looking.

He hears Brone speak of the mountains and rocky area being more his places to be but Kaito had an Idea and he pulls out a Key and he puts it against his head and he turns it and his appearance changed to a female and he more makes it look like she is carrying the gear instead of wearing it so she looks like a near helpless maiden lost in the passes so he is the bait for the bandits to make them come to herself and brone thinking that she is not a fighter hardened over time by random happenings that have turned her into a walking nuke. "I more prefer the bliss of the wind blowing through the trees gently rocking them like a baby than I do in caves and rocky areas." She giggled softly as she spoke as she was trying to seem as clueless as she can to make the bandits come out and her just start taking them down.

"Nothing really is new with me but the world is changing so there is a chance that it starts spinning horribly again soon enough." She rubbed her chin as she thought about it as she didn’t want that to happen but she had just said something that could will it into happening but she needed to avoid more problems than she has to face.

Time was passing and the sun continued to set. Eventually it was no longer visible from within the maze-like pass, but the orange light still provided them enough illumination. Brone was caught off guard by seeing Kaito suddenly transform into in a human female with a petite figure and innocent face. For a moment he wondered if the dragon slayer had switched places with someone completely new, especially hearing even the tone of voice was different, but once the girl answered replied to him and answer his question, he acknowledged Kaito's plan to play the innocent act as in a way to be bait.

"Yeah, yer right, lass, with so many dangers happening in the country, it may be best for ye to live up here in the north, not much happens around here" Brone chuckled as he walked on, pretending to be a simple hired guard for his client.

A bandit scout was sitting high up on the rocks, a good vintage point on the pass where he kept watch of the main road. With his binoculars, he spotted the dwarf escorting a young girl with her pet cat just walking happily down the road. He would whisper to his nearby friends who were keeping watch of a different passage and gestured for them to head back to the main group and inform them of the new possible targets.

The woman laughed as it seemed that Brone had caught on to his plan and he walks perfectly as an innocent woman even making faces and puffing her cheeks. "You say that but there are so many rough types just running around and acting as if they own a woman because of her need for protect and they have big manly muscles." The woman blushed a bit as she thought about it, Kaito was acting and he thinks that he is doing a good job of it. She looked back at Brone as she walked with a smirk and a wink. "I bet you are the little heart stealer yourself~" she was teasing Brone a little as it was not often that she gets to play it up so much when she turned to this form usually it is business or for people that felt dealing more comfortably with a female over the male version of them. She spun back around on her heel to keep going forward as she had a slight feeling that someone had taken the bait.

"Well I suppose yer right, I don't tend to patrol Rush Valley since that's a separate area" Brone began to fall into normal conversation, forgetting about the façade they were acting. He then slightly blushed at the compliment, turning his head away in embarrassment, "Well I do my best to help protect the people who need help".

At some point, they had come upon a passage leading beneath a natural rocky bridge, which unbeknownst to them, the bandits were getting into position upon the bridge, making sure not to be spotted from their targets point. One of the bandits peeked over the ledge and watched as the dwarf, the young woman and the feline walk beneath the bridge, then whispered to his brethren the signal.

The bandits then activated spells causing walls of earth to erect from the floor before their targets and behind them as well in order to cut off their escape. Then the dozen bandits jumped off the bridge and slid down the rocky walls, landing at it's base, now surrounding the their targets within this rocky box.

"If you two want to leave here with your lives, drop everything and we'll give it some thought" said one of the bandits while he wielded a wooden staff.

Brone, though he had forgotten about the quest for a split moment, had drew his golden axe and green axe as an instinctual reaction, keeping his back close to Kaito, forgetting that the person he was escorting is actually a powerful mage in disguise.

After the path ways in and out closed She knew that this was the time to act her heart out."Oh no Brone what are we going to do?" Her voice sounds worried and like she is going to cry in fear of these bandits and Brone being in front of her hides that she had put on her gear as they were focused on Brone as the a big strong man that he is and Kia teleported herself so the she is behind them pointing her finger at them as a spell fired from her finger into one of the bandits backs to split their attention from just being on Brone to also being on her as well, she drew her sword as the once’s that had turned to her.

She was not a scared woman but she had played the part well enough to get these creeps to pay her no mind as they didn’t see her as a threat to them and only had focused on the brave man that is Brone and she was lucky that Brone like the gentleman he is stepped in front of her to defend her rather that was part of him acting along or if it was just him being the gallant man he was, it paid off and had help give them the upper hand in this fight to clear the passages like Brone had aimed to do from the start.

Brone looked about himself, extending his arms like wings to show his axes as an intimidation tactic. "Don't worry, lass, we'll get out of here fine" the dwarf assured her, completely forgetting that the 'lass' was very well capable of handling herself, that is until the young woman had teleported behind the bandit with the staff and shot him down with spell. That is when the dwarf remembered that the young woman was actually Kaito.

"Did you forget Kaito was with you?" Benimaru asked.

"What? Of course not, it was all a part of the plan" Brone lied as he rushed at the opposing wall, swinging his axes and cutting down a handful of the bandits.

Frantic, one of the bandits had activated a spell that conjured a giant rock hand that moved into to try and grab Brone, but the dwarf swung his green axe and negated the spell, cutting the hand in half and causing it to crumble to dust.

"Boss! I Think the dwarf is Brone from Paradise Dawn!" one of the bandits cried out as he used a spell to skate up the rocky wall.

"Get up the wall and close the box in!" another bandit called out. The bandits began to all rush for the wall to escape.

"Oh no no boys you can't just leave now~" She giggled as he out runs them and blocks off their exit and she smiled at them and pointed her sword and they knew they needed to do something as other bandits still above them drops a boulder down the side wall toward the female Kaito and she just put her palm backwards and the stone shattered into tiny pebbles as her grin grew wider and she watched the color drain from the bandits face in front of her. "I think you boys have the wrong idea of how to really rock a woman~" She stepped forward and gives to high kicks to the men in front of her with her very strong legs sending them falling backwards and she looks to Brone. "I think I will head up there and handle the ones that are still above I think a big strong man like you can handle these ones~"

Kia ran up the wall of the pass to the ones that were above them and she had wasted a moment in beginning to fight with them. Her fighting style was slightly different than when she fought as Kaito, as Kaito used his sword and stood his ground more and she more used her legs and her acrobatics more than her sword.

Several mages casted spells causing stalagmites to jut from the ground and shoot at the dwarf. Brone was quick and intuitive enough to deflect a few with his golden axe and Spellcleaver, but he had to pull out his two spears using his extra arms in order to deflect several more. Because the mages continued their assault, Brone wasn't able to keep up with the bombardment and was struck a few times. He heard the young woman, who's truly Kaito, mention she was heading above, "Go! I'll handle here!" he called to her, though irritation was seeping into his tone.

Brone was relieved Kaito was gone and safe from the rocky 'box' and the barrage of stalagmites, but his irritation grew as the assault continued no matter how much he deflected. He then let out an angry warcry that echoed in the pass which then activated a spell within his new armor, causing his entire body to produce a layer of thick ice like full armor, "Now this... I like" his voice lost it's anger and cold visible breath escaped the mouth piece of the ice armor. The temperature in the area lowered as his blue helmet expanded it's aura, slowing the enemies down.

The dwarf rushed at the scared enemies while ignoring the barrage of stalagmites that pelted at his new armor without harming him. As he closed the distance, he bulldozed through the group.

Kaito

She keeps at the ones that had remained above that had been dropping rocks and raining other elements down on them busy so Brone can have a decent battle where he is and she hoped that they would be less of an issue for him as he had a lot on his plate already down then and then she hears the war ry and she hoped that she hadn’t just left him to die down there but she trusted that he was okay as she punched kicked and turned the guys and gals up there inside out and put them firmly on their asses knocked out before she rand back to the side of the pass and looked down to make sure that Brone had not died as she would never forgive herself if he had.

She sees that Brone seemed to have gotten a new toy that he was now showing off to them and she laughed softly as she was impressed by Brone if she was honest no matter the odds the man really came through in a pinch and she looks for where Revy is as she sees Revy is watching over from behind Brone to make sure that if he needs help that she can help him.

One of the earth mages had conjured a stone wall to try and protect himself from the dwarf's rage that was overwhelming them, but the green axe known as spellcleaver had negated the spell, leaving the mage defenseless as Brone rammed his blue spear into the mage, ending him.

"Close him into the tomb!" one of the mages said. Suddenly, three of their most powerful mages began an incantation that caused the earth beneath all their feet to shift. Suddenly the earth jutted upward and sealed the dwarf in a large earth pyramid tomb, "I think we got'em!"

What they weren't aware of was the power of his most dangerous weapon, the black axe known as Dhurandarin. With one swing, the entire tomb was shattered to pieces. Brone walked out of the rubble, covered from head to toe in ice, the cyan aura emanating from him lowered the temperature lower, causing fear to swell in the onlooking bandits. He then raised his golden axe into the air and bellowed another warcry as the entire area below Kaito's bridge exploded in snow and ice, then he brought the axe down, slamming it into the floor, causing the blizzard to whip up, sending hail spinning in a large dome.

The bandits caught in the blizzard froze over, unable to remain conscious. When the spell settled, the wind calmed and the hail stopped, but the entire area began to snow, leaving Brone's immediate battle zone covered in ice and the bottom of the bridge, luckily, the top of the bridge, where Kaito was, was safe from the frozen hell that Brone unleashed.

Kia had seen what was about to have happened and had pulled Revy into her personal domain to protect her from Brone's snow storm from Niflheim as if conjured forth by Hel herself. She spoke out teasingly down into the pit where Brone is. "Starting to wonder who is more dangerous you or Yuurei." She had already handled the ones above and she wondered what the dwarf's plan is from here as it seemed that he had handled the bandits that he had come here in search of, were they done here or was there more that Kia and Brone still had to take on here. She let Revy out of the personal domain next to herself and she petted the exceeds head and wondered if there was anyway that Brone had just forgotten Revy was still down there with him or if Brone much like herself sometimes loses himself and lets the rage just take over and doesn't see the color in color anymore but just a faded dull grey and in the moment just takes it out with out sight of friend and foe.

She sighs and wondered if she should now turn back into her male form and stop waiting around to see if any other bandits would show up and try anything but she did have to keep thinking on if maybe Brone is a threat and she will have to deal with some day if he were to lose his path.

Brone took a deep breath, inhaling the cold air. The sound of peace came as the fighting soon came to a stop. "You'll end up freezing the entire north, Brone" Benimaru spoke, breaking the dwarf out of his trance. He looked about at the icy terrain and remembered the reason to why he was out there. Kia, the young woman he was escorting, had called out to him from above. For a moment, Brone wasn't sure if that was a compliment or not.

He realized there was no direct route to the bridge, so he sighed as he asked his white cloak if it could fly him up to the bridge. The cloak moved as if the wind had brushed it, answering him before the dwarf was magically lifted into the air. Still nervous about flying, Brone closed his eyes and his knees locked.

The moment Brone felt his feet planted on the bridge, he opened his eyes to see instead of Kia, but Kaito and Revy. "I guess our job is done here" he said as he noticed the bandits on top of the bridge were also defeated, "Once we're back at the guild hall, we'll inform some of the crew to arrest these knuckleheads".

For a moment, he heard an aggressive voice in the back of his mind, the same voice he could have sworn had spoken to him when he was fighting the bandits just a moment ago, the same voice that egged him on to push the attack. Then his mind came back to the immediate area and he put his weapons away and stretched, waiting for Kaito to either guide them back or open a portal so they can end the day.

She slid down to meet back up with Brone and she looked at him and she wondered if this was that he really liked to do or if this was just him having an out burst like he usually did and it was not just that he was showing off. "So do you want to walk back or would you prefer that I make us a portal back to the guild hall?" She was making sure that she asked the dwarf so that he didn't feel like she was trying to lead him in one way or the other and she wondered if maybe it was time to turn back into Kaito before people start judging Brone for being around a strange woman that they didn't know and she was going to start walking and she makes sure that she is ready to open the portal if it was the choice he made or if Brone wanted to walk that they can walk back together.
