Yuurei and Haru had been around each other for quite some time, and Yuurei had trained with her one time, but it was more than that. Still, today he figured that it would be much different. He wanted to train her and better the woman’s skill with how she fought. He already knows she was a good shooter, and that much he acknowledged. It only meant that she would become better, which was great. He was in the training dome ready to fight her. The dome was huge as it was enough to have at least three battles going on in one place. The ceiling alone was over forty meters high, which would be enough for them to do whatever they wanted. There were dummies scattered throughout the dome.  

He had his gauntlet on his arm ready as he would adjust it until it felt right. He would be shirtless because he figured he would be able to use all his abilities that were not from his magic.

“I hope she didn’t go drinking before she decided to come here.” He said laughing a bit before the dome would become complete silence.

He waited for her to show.

While Haru was yet to drink away her depressive thoughts today, she had been up fairly late the night before, laughing and playing drunken card games with some fellow guild members. She had even managed to win a handful of jewels through gambling, but honestly, she was regretting drinking as much as she had. A piercing migraine from being hungover had left her feeling a little worse for wear upon waking up to recall she was supposed to meet the light mage for training today.

With a tired groan, she picked herself out of bed, quickly getting dressed and ensured she actually wore her armor this time, considering how much that punch to the gut had hurt the last time. Downing a glass of water and a couple of pain killers to help with her aching head she'd stumble out of her living quarters and down the hall towards the guild's training dome. The silver maned feline was well aware she was running late, a rare occurrence for her, and sure enough, as she entered her golden orb's soon spied Yuurei. He had of course already arrived before her.

"Morning." She'd give him a halfhearted wave, as she went to reach down for her pistols her face dropped. Tapping her empty hips she'd realise she'd forgotten her weapons, "Er... Be right back!" She squeaked in a panicked tone before quickly rushing off as quickly as possible to grab her holster and her dual pistols and promptly returning a few minutes later huffing and puffing before they'd even begun.

Yuurei would hear Haru’s arrival. He could hear her and the way she sounded; he could only shake his head because he was sure that she had been drinking the night before. Still, he would also see that she didn’t have her weapons with her. He would laugh at that as she had left to go get her pistols, and he would stretch a bit while he waited for her. When he saw her coming back to the dome again, he would have a smile on his face. It would seem like it was time to start.

The Nephilim started running, but not towards her. Instead, he would run away from Haru for a few seconds. He had gotten the momentum he needed to run at full speed, and he would turn around and started running toward her. Yes, he was moving quickly on his feet, and he remembered how fast she could shoot, so he had to be aware of it.

The light mage would move around ready to avoid or block the shots that she would launch. He figured she wouldn’t stay still, so he did his best to close the gap between them first. He would be able to close seventy meters from him and her without a problem. Still, there were thirty meters left of him to go through before he fully reached Haru.

Yuurei didn't seem to be messing around, as he was already running off, picking up speed. The neko quickly reached down, fumbling around a little as she drew both her pistols out, one in each hand. Aiming first with her left hand, as steadily as one can with a hangover, Haru would begin to fill her weapons full of mana as she pulled back the hammers on both.

As she lined up the first shot she'd pull the trigger, firing in his direction with the biggest blast she could muster before taking off and starting to run herself, away from the light mage's general direction. She needed to ensure she kept as much space as possible between herself and her opponent, the moment he caught her she was done for. She had seen how easily he handled others in combat, if he got even one solid punch on her he'd crack right through her armor for sure.

With a little twirl as she began to pick up speed, she'd pull on the trigger of the gun in her right hand, firing her second pistol's shot in her opponent's general direction. This one was a slightly less powerful shot, but still stronger than the weak bullets she'd used the first time they'd duked it out in the training dome. Given the difference in their speed, it was inevitable that he'd catch up to her pretty quickly unless he was forced to halt, unfortunately, she doubted her magic bullets would force him to stop even if they struck him.

Yuurei was making his way toward Haru and while he was getting close to her, he saw her pulling the hammer of her pistol. This was what he was waiting for. She was a scary person with those guns, and he wanted her to get better ones as soon as she could. The light mage would watch the first shot occur to him, and he knew that it would be fast. He would move to the left to dodge it barely as it would graze his face. A cut could be seen appearing on his face as the second shot would occur. The noise from the gunshot was scary, but when he moved to avoid the first shot, he was already lunging to avoid what might be the second bullet.

Yuurei would roll on the ground when this happened, and he would pick himself as he would start running again. He was now getting close to Haru as he was less than twenty meters away from the ranger. He felt the sting on his face still; Yes, he didn’t go full speed or full power, but he didn’t think he would need to. While he was moving, he was gathering his speed again, and he would hope she would continue to do her best to move away from him.

The light mage was happy to fight her though, she was allowing him to learn how to fight against those who fought from a distance as she did. It was good training for him even if she didn’t think of it like that. Still, right now it seemed like their distance would indeed be decreased in a few seconds.

A small wave of relief washed over the silver maned feline as she spied her shots had forced him to dodge, slowing him down briefly and giving her a chance to put a bit more distance between the two of them. Although she knew it would be a matter of seconds before he would be running full speed and closing the gap between them again. She was well aware that she couldn't keep running forever, even if she wanted to.

Both of her thumbs reached up for the hammers on her pistols once more, pulling them down as she poured the magical power within her body into them once more. This time only pouring a small amount into each, figuring it might be best to reserve some of her mana for when he did manage to catch up, in case she managed to get a lucky shot in up-close before he got to land a hit on hr. Besides, it wasn't like she was trying to kill him here. The neko was also well aware that she was at a thorough disadvantage in this duel, even if she managed to land multiple shots on him, it wouldn't be enough to knock him out so easily.

With a twirl in her next step, she spun around mid-run, careful on her feet, knowing that even one misstep could result in her losing her balance and ending this fight early. She pulled the triggers on both of her pistols in quick succession, firing them towards Yuurei's direction before turning and taking off again. Having to turn to fire definitely slowed her down quite a bit, she'd have to find a way in the future to be able to keep her momentum while firing and running backwards somehow. Knowing he was gaining on her she prepared both her mind and body to leap away should she spy a fist flying her way, which would at least buy her a few more precious seconds to fire a couple more rounds given the opportunity.

Yuurei would run at full speed again and while he had done that, the noise of the hammers cocking back would happen again. He figured she would shoot at him, but that wasn’t the case. He kept moving though as she was doing the same thing. It was a game of cat and mouse, which made sense for her to do. The Nephilim was inching closer to her and when he would reach ten meters away from her, he could see her turning around to shoot at him. Those bullets moved fast and even if they were weak, he wouldn’t be able to quickly dodge them from how close he was.

Still, what he could do was simple, and it would block both shots. His gauntlet moving towards the quick glance that he would see the bullets moving. They would damage his gauntlet as he had a smile on his face. There was one thing he was learning, and he realized this before. Guns were a scary thing, and he needed to find a way to not just avoid those things, but arrows and anything similar to things like that.

Still, it was this time that Yuurei didn’t slow down even after she had shot at him. He had also noticed something when fighting Haru. She didn’t make a sound when they were running from each other. He could hear his own steps when he was running, but it wasn’t the same for Haru. That was interesting and he would have to ask about that later.

“That is the way to fight Haru, and never allow an enemy to banter you to stop running away. You can take hits, but it doesn’t mean that you should.” He said as he was able to close the gap between the two of them.

Yuurei would move his right arm back as he was behind her and when he was ready, he would attempt to land a jab right on her back. If this hit, she would be feeling her armor break and at the same time she would feel a strong blow on her body. If he missed, Yuurei would find himself running around in a circular rotation to face towards her and close the distance between the two of them. If he hit her though, Yuurei would skid on the ground and come to a stop as he would wait for her to get up, so he could continue on with the battle.

A game of cat and mouse indeed, only the cat in this scenario was no longer the feline woman. With each passing second, the white-haired male was inching ever so closer to her, as she felt his presence gain on her despite running as fast as her legs could take her. As her golden orbs glanced back she was horrified to learn he was winding up his fist already, his eyes piercing her as he focused his punch, sending it flying towards her. Her plan was a little more rushed than she had anticipated, she'd lunge away into a combat roll.

For a moment she thought that she'd narrowly missed the punch by a hair's breadth and was about to rejoice inwardly, only to hear the sound of metal clinking ever so slightly with the metal studs on her armor as she felt it break and fall from her form. She'd been too slow, now she was left with only her headband and the plain black attire worn under her armor.

As she rolled back she'd end up on one knee she'd twirl her torso around. The demi-human knew full well these would be the last two shots she'd get out of this fight before the light mage would easily land a strike on her prone body. Feeling a little angsty, she decided to give it her all. As she drew back the hammers with her thumbs she would begin surging the mana within her to her hands as she allowed it to surge into the weapons as she filled the pistols with the maximum amount of mana each could take. Unfortunately, one would have slightly less than the other due to it still recharging after the first strong shot earlier in the fight, but the impact would most certainly be painful regardless if she hit.

She aimed carefully, lining up so as to release the magical bullets from their chambers the moment he turned to come charging towards her kneeling form. She hoped to force him to either take the shots again as he had done already or dodge away and give her another opportunity to strike back. Although she highly doubted the latter would occur, given how he was fairly unscathed up until this point except for a minor scratch and a few dents in his gauntlet. And even if by some miracle she was given time, it would only delay the inevitable given how little distance there was between the two of them, the fact her armor had magically helped increase her mobility and how she'd have to stand before even starting to run away.

Yuurei would see that he would hit her, but it wasn’t enough. She would lunge out of the way to avoid any further damage. That was good and he could see that she was truly trying. This was perfect, and he could see that she knew the difference between them. Still, he would hope that they would both grow from this experience. He knew what was going to happen, but at the same time he got lost in his train of thoughts, and then two shots would occur in from of him. He would stumble back a bit as he had been hit by Haru’s attack.

It actually hurt enough that he would grab his chest from the pain of the wounds that he had received. He had a smirk on his face as figured if she was doing her best, then he would go all out as well. The light mage had not used magic this entire time, but he figured that it was time to do it.

The Nephilim would sprout out four wings on his back and his eyes would become golden in color. It wasn’t just that, but he would charge mana into his gauntlet and in return, the gauntlet would grant him more power than he had before. His eyes looked over Haru as he would lift off from the ground and into the sky. The pain he felt would be a reminder of what her weapons could do.

Yuurei would treat her like a warrior and of course after this, he would make sure that she would be healed from any wounds she had suffered from him. He would move at full speed at this rate and when he got close to her, he would swing his leg launching a roundhouse kick straight onto her shoulder now. If he would miss that attack, he would just fly off into the sky and move around, so he wouldn’t be caught off guard like what happened not too long ago.

The feline smirked as she watched her magic bullets strike their target, directly in his chest, causing him to clutch at it as he felt the pain. Well, at least she was going out with a bang. However, as she was readying herself for his attack, it didn't come as quickly as she had expected. The silver maned feline blinked, scowling a little confused until she saw his eyes glow golden.

"Really...?" Haru sighed as she watched the angelic wings extend from the light mage's back, her face falling as she stared blankly at him not even bothering to raise her guns at this point. Her body grew weak in his presence, even if she wanted to stand and run her body felt so sluggish that she doubted she'd get more than a few steps away before his strike would hit its mark. Her golden eyes gave him a pleading look of 'why?' as he leapt from the ground.

With one final spark of hope in her, she'd choose not to give up so easily. After all, he'd no doubt scold her later if she didn't at least attempt to flee. With one final push on her feet she'd try to spring away, but to no avail, as she felt his foot collide with her shoulder, sending her crashing into the hard ground. Her head spun as she fell unconscious.

Yuurei had landed the blow on Haru, and before she would fully hit the ground, he would catch her as she would become unconscious from the blow. He would look at her as she had done an amazing job with their training. The Nephilim would grab her guns and would put them in their holster. He had learned a lot with the fight as it seemed like those bullets hurt. He had to find a way to fight against people who fought at a range.

Yuurei’s eyes would return to normal, and his wings would disperse from his back, he would sigh as he knew she was probably going to be upset with what he had done. The berserker would take her out of the dome as he was taking her to the medical area, so she could be treated. Yuurei would also get treated for the wounds that Haru had given him, which he was fine with doing. He was excited to see what she would be capable of doing in the future.
