Was there any reason for Odin to be dressed as some kind of western gangster when all he had planned was serving drinks to his guild members as part of a contest he was hosting? Absolutely not, but it was an outfit he didn't get to wear often. He'd only actually ventured out in the same outfit once before, but that had been in Bosco so it didn't break any rules on reusing old outfits. Odin was very fashion oriented.
The bar was set up to perfection, with Odin and Mac having stayed up all night making it perfect for today. The drinks had not yet been prepared of course, Odin wasn't going to serve anything but the freshest concoctions, but the seats were ready, buckets lined the floor in case of someone drinking too much, and many of the usual patrons had decided to take the day off from the bar, aware of the calibre of people that were about to enter the establishment. Perhaps not everyone would show up, but that didn't mean it wasn't going to be one hell of an afternoon. They were set to arrive anytime from noon onwards, and Odin couldn't wait to see them.
She was unsure about this as she hasn't been without Akuko in awhile. Going this direction in life was going to be an adventure, but will it fulfil her goals or satisfy her fears? Today she was possibly meeting many of the Guild members of Eternal Nightmare as they were having an event. Apparently, the owner of this Pub was the Guild Master himself, Odin. She heard a few tales of him and the things he has done. She doesn't truly care much though as it has nothing to do with her goals. She wore her black Joya attire that she came into Fiore with. It was light and fashionable in the battle aspect for women who need to move fast, unlike the Samurais.
Her eyes were filled with curiosity as she walked in to find only one man, Odin himself. She stayed calm and expressionless while her topaz eyes studied him. Deep inside she wanted to laugh and tried not to as it wasn't every day you see a skeleton in a western style suit. "Quite fashionable, aren't we? I feel underdressed," she continued to walk in and found a seat at the end. Slowly, she crossed her leg over the other and leaned over the table with arms crossed on the table to balance. Her eyes cornered to look at the buckets and wondered how much were they going to drink. Her gaze shot back at Odin, "Quilla, by the way, a pleasure to meet you.", she introduced as they haven't met and she isn't that known throughout this Country, unlike Joya.
The wood elf breaks the thresh hold her heels clacking on the floor as she walked, she had heard there was an event happening for her guild, she thought she might as well drop in and see what it is about, as she had heard the first part was to be one to test the strength of their spirits. She wondered what that could have meant but she hadn't spent any sizable time with any members besides azure, so she was still a bit in the dark about what these people might do or cause in this meeting, as she walked closer she saw a very tall woman and what she would guess is her guild master in a odd outfit.
She found herself a seat not far from the tall woman, taking in how the bar has changed a bit since she had last been in it when she had first landed here meeting with a wandering painter and an over zealous wolf member, she did not recall there being buckets all around the place the last time she had entered here, so she thinks she had figured out what they were plaining for this fine day. Her deep blue eyes looked to the woman and she felt a pressure coming from the woman like Vex was in the company of some sort of goddess that wasn't her own. "Nice to meet you I am Vex and who do i have the pleasure of meeting ?" (248)
Jin stretched his back as he walked through the brick night air toward the pub. This was his first invitation to any sort of formalized group gathering. A bag hung over his shoulder with provisions, potions, and good luck charms for sale. But that was the last thing on his mind. Anymore he felt like his days as an apothecary were more a cover or a hobby than a profession.
The doors were still swinging open from the last person that walked through. A clamber of boots echoed from down the street. A lowly rune knight turned the corner. Jin rose his hood and spun in through the door to the pub. Best if he wasn't seen at all. he lowered the hood as soon as he was in and turned a slow circle, to admire the establishment. He made his way toward the bar, where two people were already waiting. The buckets caught his eye, and Odin was ready to mix some drinks. A half-smile swept his face and he grabbed the back of his neck, "Ah. So it's that kind of get-together," he pulled up a barstool and set down his bag.
"Good to see you again Odin. Seems we only ever meet when drinks are around," To women sat across from the light mage. Both of them seemed more than capable and it was nice to see some others from the guild.
"Nice to meet the both of you. I'm new to the guild, and I'm a medicine man. So if you need any healing, I got ya covered." He said with a calm smile.
Achlys trying to keep her breath as she’s flying over the town heading to Swineherd Pub all the way from Eternal Nightmare guildhall. She’s trying to get there as soon as possible to the point where she chooses to manifest her obscura and make a pair of wings out of it. She is late to the drinking contest that is held by Odin in his pub, not that the drinking contest has started but Achlys is supposed to help serve out some drinks before the contest starts and that’s why she tries to fly all the way there as fast as she can. ”You should stop being late for everything Achlys, get some discipline.” Said Lilith to Achlys as she tries to focus on flying. ”You usually wake me up or remind me, why not do the same this time?” Before Lilith answers that, they land in front of the pub.
Achlys dematerialize her obscura wings and run inside the pub only to see that Odin and three other people are there. She recognizes one of them during the previous meeting at the guildhall rooftop, but there are other two faces she has never seen before. Might be a guest, Achlys thinks to herself while she starts walking to the bar only to finally realize that Odin is dressed differently than usual. Trying to hold her laugh Achlys focuses on helping around the pub. ”What can I do to help sir?”
Erebus wore a plain black zip-up jacket over his white tee and some dark pants that complimented it. His face was scraggly, and his hair tied in the back, keeping it off his neck. He sat against the bar, already joined by three empty shot glasses; though, what Odin wanted to break out was a nicer rum. Something rich, and immeasurable Erebus figures
He had just walked here with Nuala, his ally. She was a daemon rogue, probably the very first of her level as far as stealth monsters went. A valuable friendship was in the details there, but his reason for being here in the bar was about Odin’s friendship. The guild really gave this guy a home and a family that deserved genuine splendor— it almost made the human tear up, so why wouldn’t Erebus support his undying master by drinking nonsensibly to his heart’s content? He owed the Lich more than just life, This debt was now about party! Hell, getting fucked up in crowded places was Erebus’ favorite pass-time anyways.
Erebus approached the main pool-table in the room’s center, he had grabbed some solo cups from the bar itself and placed them on both sides of the table in a triangular pattern, he didn’t fill them up yet, but lined the setting for a game of Cup Pong.
Retrieving two balls from his satchel, he bowed to the recent entrances. “Care to take this on? or— Scared of me?” He sent the shot, surely at least one person had an ego large enough to partake. But first— Erebus would wait for Odin to pour the glasses.
Nothing made Odin happier than seeing the newer members of the guild walk through the doors of his pub, all of them seemingly eager to partake in the festival and the games the Lich had prepared. Some faces he recognised from previous meetings: Achlys, Jin and Erebus all knew the Odin to varying degrees of closeness. But the other two: Quilla and Vex, they were people whom Odin hadn't quite had the pleasure yet. Now was as good a time as any. After all, what better way to introduce yourself to your new guild members than by ploughing them full of alcohol and seeing how long they would last.
Odin would take his hat off and sit it on the bar. It had nothing to do with people thinking he looked silly, nothing at all. Nope. He just wanted to take it off as he started pouring the first drinks. A personal favourite of his, back when he was actually able to enjoy the taste. A shot of vodka, a shot of gin, a shot tequila and a shot of rum went into the large jug. Might as well start strong with the drinks. A shot of orange flavoured liqueur followed, then some lime juice before Odin added the cola to make sure it wasn't completely straight alcohol. He then poured the cocktail into each of the glasses for his guild members.
"I call this a Galuna Island Iced Tea because, just like that island off the coast of Fiore, no one really knows what's going on in this drink. You know it exists, but you can't claim anything beyond that. Enjoy!"
Participants may now roll in their next post to see how they handle the drink.
Others started to arrive as she saw an adorable girl named Vex, a handsome Joyan-looking man named Jin, a girl who seemed familiar for some reason, and an attractive man who had some neat ass marks on his sculpted canvas. People mainly talked to Odin, so Quilla sat there and listened to learn a little about each one. No one introduced herself, so she didn't bother either till they did. It wasn't more about her being stuck-up; it was just a custom of hers and that she was in a situation where she had to calm herself.
Sure, war makes you accustomed to hundreds to thousands of new people, but you only stuck around a handful of them, if not two. Before drinks were poured, she paid attention to what the two said, giving the nod to the Joyan-looking man and then to the mark-faced man, "Ping Pong?" she questioned calmly with her expressionless face. She has never played this ping-pong game, and maybe she will 'lose' since she doesn't.
"I will learn to play," she was pretty adventurous in trying new things even if she sounded cold and distant with her smooth-breathy tone. Her attention suddenly went to Odin, who was now pouring drinks. Half of the things he was using were things that she'd have in hers, and some were not, but she will deal with this. Her brown eyes gazed at the colors of the drink, and they were bright to the eyes, vibrant blooms at the most. Once hers was poured, she chugged the glass down as it was a hit or miss.

Vex watches as the others walked in and she wondered how well this is gonna go they seemed to speak comfortably with and around the lich so she figured they must be usual member, not worried about dying or have some friendship with this man, she sees the man work on the drinks and she hopes she isn’t as much of a light weight as she thinks she is gonna end up being for the concoction this man has just made in front of them all. She looks to the others for their reactions to see if they look like they are steeled from this or if they are as scared of this as she is feeling in this moment.
She hopes that her goddess Tutrix will give her power and luck to out last at least some of the the ones that have been placed on the battle field so she can have at least a little bit of bragging rights even if she ends up losing in the end she would not have come last and ruined her chances of making at least a decent impression on these other members that she hadn’t met yet.
She steels herself as she had never had a drink that looked and smelled so strong before as the lich pours her drink she has no regrets but she feels like she will have a lot of them to pray for tomorrow, she reaches out grabbing it titles her head back and she pours it in downing it as fast as she can then places the glass back down gently on the bar.
A few more people began to wander in. Jin finally felt the magnitude of the guild. It was not one too well known yet, but had grown substantially in numbers and was sure to shake things up with what the future would bring. He nodded at the woman that entered behind him. A stout man followed with an eye for games.
"I'm terrible at games," Jin waved and shook his head. "Especially if I'm gonna be downing shots," he added with a bit of laughter. The mage leaned against the bar counter as Odin began to pour the drinks. Multiple shots went into the concoction leaving it a lively brew.
"A mystery drink huh. Sounds exciting. Bottoms up," he took the drink in hand and held it high for cheers. He slammed the drink back and felt it soothe through his chest. The woman agreed to the ping pong, challenge and Jin watched the two about to start. if nothing else it would be an interesting game to see unfold. He shook his head from the shot, "No one worry...I have hang-over cures too."
This pub is filled with more people that come after Achlys arrives there, and Achlys take that chance to look at the people there. They are some members of Eternal Nightmare, but it seems like Achlys didn’t know most of them. She can only recognise one of them besides Odin, she saw this girl during another gathering of the guild. Achlys takes this chance to get a good look at their face and tries to remember them in case she will meet them and have to work with them in the future.
Achlys is not that good about socializing with people, so the best she can do is try to remember their face and their name based on information she gets from other people. But this moment is still enjoyable for her, to see some members from her guild gather and enjoy their time together. What makes this event more enjoyable is because their guild master is serving some drinks for them. It rarely happens but once it happens you know that Odin will really do the best to serve the best for his guild member, and now his first drink has been served.
(Retconned appearance to new appearance) Erebus glances up to make contact with Quilla, taking her gaze in and pausing. Whatever a madman could be thinking on such an emotionless remark was gone as fast as it was found, he smiled through it, intricate facial designs lined his cheeks and jawline.
Erebus broke his attention from Quilla to comment in kind to Jin, Eternal Nightmares cleric. “That sounds like a fair deal, good man.” Erebus finished setting up the Cup Pong game. He then made his way to Jin’s side and took a glass of Odin’s Galuna Island Ice Tea. He drank it down, wincing at the strength of the liquor but nodding and showing a fine deal of respect to it’s flavor as he turned back to Wuilla and addressed her challenge with; and it could’ve been imagination, but with a friendly neck out.
A few steps and he was back at the table, pouring vodkas and orange juice mixes into solo cups. ”Alright do your worst then.” He smirked, placing two balls at the tables center for her to grab and begin her turn. He then heard Achlyss came in, and waved her down. A game of 2 v 2 could be excellent if Jin decidedly took up arms, Perhaps Odin himself even.
In quite an unexpected turn of events, things had turned out almost exactly as Odin had expected. Things never did that. In fact, often the universe loved to do the exact opposite of whatever Odin was expecting. Maybe his luck was changing, maybe he should place a bet on the next tournament that he didn't fix in advance. That was a decision for later, as the Lich surveyed those remaining in the group. Vex, one of the youngest members gathered, was the first to fall from the drink. She seemed less experienced than the rest, both in age and probably general drinking prowess, but Odin couldn't help but applaud her attempt. She finished the entire drink quicker than the rest, it clearly just hit her faster and completely took her out. And while Erebus seemed the most resilient of the group for this drink, he also seemed to be adding more drinking to his own side game. Odin would be happy to watch them, as he picked up a bottle of gin, readying himself to pour drink number two.
He'd practised this many times before, but rarely got the chance to show it off. And even though most of the guild were watching Erebus and Quillareine start their game, Odin would twirl that bottle of gin in his hands, throwing it into the air with a twist and catching it perfectly to pour into the large glass. Following the gin would be a bitter drink to add some flavour, followed by fortified wine and a slice of orange sitting neatly on the rim of the glass.
Serving them up, Odin would once again announce his drink, "A local delicacy, although admittedly one I've never had the chance to sample: the Fiorigroni. Savour the taste, enjoy the drink and please, have some fun. Many of you won't know each other well, so this is a chance to change that. You all know me, but introduce yourselves to each other."
She watched as Vex went down first. She didn't want to go down next as she wanted to play this ping pong game. She'd be unfortunate if she couldn't at least play a few games with Erebus. She took a deep breather while watching Odin make the drink for everyone. It looked like Kraken Rum mixed with some coke, but it was made of other things. Quilla looked at the glass and started to chug it down as she didn't believe in savoring strong alcohol drinks.
Her eyes moved over to the game, "Now... How do we play ping pong? ~" she slurred her words as she had some pink on her cheeks. Her eyes looked at a few people but ended on the blue-eyed man from Joya, or so it seemed. Quickly, she looked away and then picked up the white ball. "Do I just hit this with this paddle?", she softly spoke as she bounced it on the table. She'd hit the ball into a cup if she made it through.
Vex wakes up off to the side of the pub, damn she thought to herself she must of passed out from the drink, she figured she wouldn’t last long but she didn’t think she would be the first one to have to drop out of the contest, she recollects her wits and looks to the rest that are still in the contest she wonders which one will be the next to lose as she did, at least they could hold close the fact that they didn’t lose first like she did. She guesses she will have to work on getting her alcohol tolerance up for the next time she enters one of these things so she doesn’t end up out of the running round one like her poor showing.
She looked at the ones that still remained and she guessed from how they looked after the first round the spazzy one with markings looked like they had made it out of round one with the most steam still on their seat the best. The other male looked like he had handled it okay as well, the small female seems to be hanging in pretty decently, and the tall woman looked like she had been barely able to get past round one of the contest and drink two looked to have hit her like a carriage being pulled by the biggest fastest strongest ox jewels could buy. She had thought going in the giant woman would probably be the favorite to win as she seemed to have the better mass to absorb it.
Jin gave a polite head nod to Erebus. A man that was still mostly a mystery, but brought a positive jovial turn of events. He had expected the guild to be filled with more solemn loner individuals but perhaps his assumptions were delightfully off course. "What kinda medicine man would I be if i couldn't" he joked.
They handled the first round well, Aside from the young woman that passed out from the shot. Jin crossed over to her and held his hand above her. A small beam of light radiated from his palm to cast away any uneasiness. "Super Tonic. Not even the worst headache or stomach turn can resist," he smiled and made his way back to the bar for the next round. Odin swirled it and set it back, down, asking for introductions.
"Oh uh..." Jin was trying to think back but it seemed he did forget to announce his name. With a slight sway in his walk from the first shot starting to hit him, he put one foot on the rungs of a bar stool, "Jin is my name," he tilted his head towards the drink. "Like the drink." he tried to think what would be the most important detail and reached into his coat. With one hand he pulled out two bottles and the other a handful of charms, "I sell potions, and charms for luck and love!"
He announced and then slammed back the next drink that Odin had prepared.
Achlys looks as vex becomes the first one that went down and lost her consciousness. Achlys is not a drinker herself, she drinks occasionally and usually only a limited amount of drink. She is surprised that she is not the one to go down, but she feels lucky that she gets to see everyone having fun together in this pub. It doesn't happen so often but spending time like this feels good for the guild. Achlys is not much of a socialized type of person, she often just stays around the corner and observes her surroundings, just like what she did today. Looking around the pub, seeing people having fun at this moment, and also seeing her guildmate get too drunk and fall down, it’s quite funny. Until Odin serves the second drink named the Fiorigroni, something that Odin said he never sampled before and Achlys picks up the glass to drink it.
