How infuriating... Even now, the God couldn't get it out of her head... The woman whose body they inhabited, the high priestess Quetza who bore her namesake. High priestess though she may be, her values aligned far more with those of their arch rival, Tezcatlipoca. She could see the chaos and destruction the woman had brought upon not only Bosco but their own lands. But here, atop the pyramid as she knocked another defeated warrior down the stairs, Quetzalcoatl pushed those thoughts out of her mind. She hadn't had this much fun in millenia!

"No, no, no, this won't do at all~!", she shook her head, a pang of worry crossing her face as she watched her defeated foe falling down a handful of stairs, her chest rising and falling with a relieved breath when she found the man had at survived the fall. None of his companions bothered to help him even... She glared at them, "How can you call yourselves protectors like this?"

She'd come here to find a warrior worthy of bequeathing her power to... But might as well enjoy herself while she was here? It's not every day she got to breathe the fresh air of Stella's jungles, after all, long gone were the days where the Gods could freely walk the Earth. Her brow twitched as she thought back to how her rival had done the very same. What Tezcatlipoca did this year was unforgivable... She gritted her teeth... That filthy Jaguar, when she got her hands on him, she'd skin him and wear him as a pelt. As the next warrior rushed after her, she met him halfway, delivering a thundering blow with her weapon that knocked him out unceremoniously:

"Sometimes... The people need to be protected from the Gods themselves!!"

She wanted to find them. Those with the courage to challenge the Gods... Hopefully among those people, she'd meet one worthy of wielding her power. Someone far more deserving of it than this bloodthirsty woman.

Enemy Details

Name: Quetzalcoatl

Type: None

Rank: Z

Health: 20x S-rank

Mana:

Height: 1,8 meters

Personality: With a cheerful, passionate and vibrant demeanor, Quetzalcoatl carries herself as a friend and protector of mortals, excitable and easily impressed. A God who nurtures and protects, she'll happily praise those who awe her with their strength and willpower, and encourage them even when they're fighting against her, laughing merrily in the blazing heat of battle. Whether due to her own nature or an influence of her host, Quetzalcoatl nonetheless has a bloodthirsty side that only heightens her love of combat, but nonetheless, her benevolence outmatches even that, and even at her most destructive, she'll always avoid unnecessary loss of life. In the wake of the chaos caused by Tezcatlipoca, she has bonded with a priestess who bore her name so as to be able to interact in the world. She wishes to find a brave mortal unafraid of challenging her or other Gods, to whom she can entrust her power. Despite her friendly nature, she loathes Tezcatlipoca and anything associated with him, particularly Jaguars and other cats.

Physiology: Even though Ancient Stellan Holy scriptures describe Quetzalcoatl as a massive, sky dwelling serpent with wings and feathers, here in the real world she appears in the form of a tall, statuesque blonde woman of visibly foreign heritage. The woman in question, Quetza, is a Stellan High Priestess who took part in the Independence war against Bosco, and was chosen on account of bearing the name of the Chief God. Due to being bonded with the God, Quetza cannot be maimed or killed and is much stronger than she ever was, but in return her body is now completely controlled by Quetzalcoatl. She's clad in traditional Stellan garb with a large, elaborate headdress, and wields a Macuahuitl, a Stellan weapon consisting of sharp obsidian shards embedded in a wooden club, designed to wound and incapacitate victims rather than kill outright.

After what felt like an eternity away, the Tzacualli Jungle welcomed Tōga back into its leafy emerald embrace. As the Rune Knight passed beneath the broad oaken boughs, he found himself immersed once more in the jungle's mystical beauty. With each step he took along the winding forest paths, memories awakened within him. He recalled the dappled moonlight dancing across mossy rocks and fallen trees, the melody of birdsong high above in the canopy, the whisper of leaves stroking his skin. The very air seemed infused with earthy magic. Everywhere Tōga looked, life flourished in myriad shades of green. It was just as he remembered from seasons long ago, yet now there was a new richness to the colors, a new depth to the shadows. He drew the sweet scent of the jungle deep into his lungs, his brown eyes wide with wonder that this place still existed untouched by time or man. Here, he was not a knight on a quest, but a thread rewoven into the tapestry of the ancient forest. With sword sheathed at his side, Tōga walked on as though in a dream, the jungle welcoming back its long lost son.

Tōga strode silently through the emerald maze, keen ears attuned to the raucous sounds emanating from its hidden depths. The Rune Knight was garbed for stealth and battle in his usual black attire covering an inner bright red hoodie. Only the fiery red sneakers peeking out from under his trappings gave a hint of color. New additions weighed upon him as well - the massive obsidian blade Zangetsu strapped faithfully across his back, and the sable feathers of the Birdman's cape tucked secretively within his outer vestments. Both had been integrated after his last harrowing encounter with the jaguar god in this accursed forest. That fight had taught Tōga to never be complacent, even in familiar lands. And so he made his way silently through the jungle along little-used paths known only to him, the emerald-filtered sunlight casting ever-shifting shadows across his pensive face. His hand rested easily on Zangetsu’s hilt, ready to unsheathe the mighty blade at the first sign of danger. Thus prepared, he stealthily followed the disturbance towards the jungle’s pounding heart, intent on uncovering its source before it could spill out and infect the wider realms beyond this sylvan maze.

The raucous noise drew Tōga deeper into the emerald jungle until finally he reached a sun-dappled clearing. There stood his old companion Tamás, watching intently as a female warrior with flowing golden hair single-handedly took down one hardened combatant after another. Her graceful yet powerful fighting style and unrelenting attacks spoke of immense skill. She towered over her opponents, dispatching them with contemptuous ease in a dazzling display of close-quarters prowess. The Dragon Slayer watched transfixed as the warrior danced from foe to foe, nature itself seeming to pause to behold her golden victory.

Ooooi! Tamás-kun!” Tōga shouts excitedly, ignoring the goddess, but only for a moment as her power flowed like the ocean. Even her scent was that of divine immortality.

Ryuko

A memory... Quite a fond one if she was recalling it during these times of turmoil. A younger Ryuko had been seated on a cushion in front of her father, the mighty Shinryu looking down at her with a hint of curiosity. "You are curious about why we don't mingle with the mortals of Earthland as much as you'd like?"

Her father's deep voice resounded through the temple as the divine dragon let out a soft hum. "You see my little fireball~ Beings like us often inevitably affect those around us. Whether we want it or not, a mere meeting with us can often cause a lasting impact on the history of mortals. It is for that reason most of us avoid intervening with the mortal realm."

The words spoken by her father earned a small pout from the child. "But if you have so much power, why wouldn't you use it to improve things within Earthland?" The child's question earned a soft laugh from her father who raised a claw to affectionately pat her head. "Because with great power, comes an even greater responsibility. I am certain that someday you will understand that, and find your own way to deal with that responsibility."

It had come with the chaos of a hurricane, the sudden announcement that a god walked among the people of Stella, a god who was challenging any brave, or foolish enough to face her. Ryuko was not certain what to think of that claim, and as such she had gone to the Tzacualli jungle where said god was last seen at one of the various temples raised in reverence to the divine.

But what she saw was downright disappointment. Certainly, the being claiming to be Quetzalcoatl was mighty, a bit too mighty even. But to see her take down countless troves of warriors hoping to meet her in mettle and might and actually revel in it? It stirred something in the dragon girl who stepped from amidst her concealment among the trees just as one of Earthland's champions was asking the very question that was burning in her mind: why?

Another, seemingly familiar with the former had joined them, and soon she inquired her question as well. "What could possibility lead one of such strength to engage in such a reckless waltz of violence? There is neither responsibility or wisdom in such actions. If anything it would be a clear contradiction to all my father taught me about divinity...."

She took a step closer to the group and addressed them both alongside the woman who was likely the divinity the rumors spoke of. "I am Ryuko, daughter of Shinryu and heiress of his legacy, depending on your reasoning I will not hesitate to aid these champions of Earthland in besting you!"

Spreading her wings behind her, her tail lashed lightly behind her, a telltale of the excitement she was secretly harboring toward such a glorious confrontation.

The air crackles with anticipation, and so commences his divine confrontation. to distort the very air around it. The other three figures simply stand guard, their purpose unclear.

At this moment, Knuckles summons his Clown Clout armor, a hallowed suit of battle dress that has seen and survived countless battles. "I don't know who any of you are, but if you wished to fight this being say your prayers to who you worship. "

In the midst of the mounting tension, Knuckles heeds his own advice. Closing his eyes, he quiets his mind, channeling his thoughts towards the grand halls of Valhalla. He imagines the fierce and proud deity, Odin, the god of battle and wisdom. He lets a silent invocation take form in his mind, a humble plea to the Allfather. "Great Odin," he begins internally, "I stand here, on the precipice of a battle that could be my last. I ask not for victory, but for the courage and strength to face this divine challenge. May my hammers strike with your might, every blow a testament to your eternal valor." His silent prayer echoes in his mind, a lone warrior's petition to the gods of old.

Tōga's eyes shone with excitable ambition as three others stepped up to join his bold stand against the goddess Quetzalcoatl. Two were complete strangers, yet as one approached, her draconic scent struck a chord of familiarity within him, wafting off her skin like tender shoots sprouting from the earth. The crimson-haired stranger spoke fervently of gods and mortals, his convictions clear. But it was the third new ally that brought a grin to Tōga's face - his drinking buddy and fellow Rune Knight Ittindi had come to fight by his side. "Oooooi Ittindi-Kun!" Tōga called out enthusiastically, waving his comrade over. Now facing the monumental foe as a party of five mages, nerves and excitement dueled within them all, united by one purpose. This motley band would challenge the power of the gods or die trying.

As much as Tōga yearned to regale his companions with tales of adventure, better judgment compelled him to keep his focus fixed on the formidable warrior goddess before them. With a swift tug, he drew his oversized cleaver, Zangetsu, from his back. The frayed bindings encasing the pitch-black blade unfurled with the gentle gust, allowing tattered ribbons to dance lightly upon the breeze. Now unsheathed under the soft glow of ambient light, Zangetsu's steely surface glimmered, thirsty for divine ichor. Tōga resisted the temptation to steal a glance at his motley crew, instead squaring his stance towards their foe.

With jaws stretched wide, he inhaled deeply, swallowing the roaring flames whole. The others watched as the blistering fires raced towards them, glowing hotter and brighter before dimming abruptly as they vanished down Tōga's gullet. He had successfully consumed the divine flames, though at a grievous cost - his body now glowed from within as if lit by hellish embers.

"What?!" Tōga staggered backward, tendrils of smoke rising from his hot features as steam hissed from his body. Though he had swallowed the goddess's flames, their potency surpassed even his expectations. Divine fire was meant to empower him, yet now it churned within, searing away at his mana reserves. He gasped raggedly, clasping at his chest as the embers clawed hungrily through his insides. Ryuko

The Dragon girl had gone silent upon receiving the goddess her response. To think all this violence was merely a test for the goddess to see if mortals were capable of defending themselves. At one hand she understood the concept, at least if the gods refused to protect the mortals of Earthland, then there had to be a certainty that there were champions able to rise to the challenge instead, but that didn't mean she was liking the idea of just unleashing an overwhelming force upon mankind as something of a 'test'.

When the goddess unleashed her first attack in the form of an empowering move Ryuko could barely contain her curiousity as one of the mages in the group devoured her flames! At first sight it might had looked like some sort of nullification magic, but this seemed different. It was as if the flames were being devoured, and yet their power so intense it left some sort of drastic side-effect upon the mage, suggesting that whatever they had done, it took its toll upon his body and suggested that they would better hurry up, lest the backlash of devouring these flames would destroy the mage from within!

It was clear the goddess intended to not be persuaded to halt her test, for she was preparing to attack one of the other mortals who earlier told them to pray to whatever deities they worshipped. However, Ryuko was not without a plan of her own, as the moment the goddess came rushing in Ryuko darted forward intending to intercept her.

"Toga was it? Try to devour any flames she conjures, I can deal with her physical attacks while the rest focuses on offense!"

If Quetzalcoatl did unleash a martial attack she would soon find that the moment she attempted to do so a series of metal rods would grow from the raised arm of the dragon girl that would reflect any physical attack launched at her! However, unfortunately for Ryuko she wouldn't be able to keep that trick going for long due to the exhaustion it caused upon her mana reserves.

"If you're testing mortals, then I'm fifty percent qualified to aid them~ Not that most of them would need my help." The dragon girl added with a playful remark.

He felt a pang of pride observing the deference shown to Ittindi, validating his faith in his friend's capabilities. But the underlying tension in the air served as a poignant reminder of the looming threat they were all confronting.

As the battle commenced, a god-like entity encased them within a flaming aura. This new enemy held Knuckles in its intense gaze, a focus that suggested Knuckles was perceived as the primary threat. Uncertainty flickered in Knuckles' mind, yet he steered his attention to the situation unfolding on the battlefield. His friend Ittindi was in the process of wielding a gun, a sight that piqued Knuckles' curiosity. When had Ittindi acquired such a weapon?

Ready to plunge into the fight, Knuckles noticed Tamas adopting a defensive posture. It was a peculiar sight considering Tamas' reputation as a skilled melee combatant. The scene became even more surreal as another Rune Knight absorbed the god-like being's flames into his own body using a spell - an ability Knuckles had never seen before. To further add to the disarray, the woman accompanying them cast a spell that oddly didn't target their adversary. Knuckles couldn't help but question the strange tactics his allies were choosing in this crucial fight.

Knuckles' frustration simmered over as he finally exploded, his words echoing around the battlefield. "Am I surrounded by cowards? Why show up to face the might of a god to hide behind shields and protective magic. I can see now why they have locked their eyes upon me. You two lack the warrior spirit, as for you other little Knight, at least you have done something to aid the party. Fight forward you cowards!" His voice, brimming with anger and determination, rang out in challenge to his hesitant allies, a beacon urging them to step into the light of bravery and confront their foe without fear.

Knuckles shook his head in disbelief, the thought of Odin's disapproval hanging heavily on his mind. He couldn't stand by any longer and watch his timid companions falter. It was time to show these cowards how a true warrior behaves on the battlefield. He summoned his helm to his head, his body bracing for the fight that lay ahead. Gripping his hammer with a firm hand, he invoked a thunderstorm to descend upon the battleground. Knuckles channeled his mana into Mjolnir, his weapon of choice, and watched as lightning struck back into the hammer. The stunning display of power encapsulated him, a nimbus of blue energy coursing around his figure. A chuckle echoed from his lips, a sound that conveyed not just enjoyment, but also a promise of the storm that was about to unleash.

With no further hesitation, and bestowed with the mighty power of Thor, Knuckles charged forward. The enemy god-like figure faltered in confusion as its protective flames dissipated, and the raw power of Thor replaced it. Within moments, Knuckles was upon his target, both his hammers brandished threateningly. He swung his regular Mjolnir with all his might, targeting the chest of the god-possessed creature. The impact was immense, dealing damage of 1xS. Each strike echoed across the battlefield, a testament to the strength of a true warrior, unafraid and undeterred.

Ittindi would observe the battlefield, gun drawn ready to take a shot when he saw an opening. It was a surprise to see Tōga working with another knight, he wondered if the man was part of the Rune Knights as well. If he was Ittindi wasn't familiar with him, as the man in armor readied his shield to prevent any attack. Tōga had accepted Ittindi's aid so he stood 2-3 meters behind him as the battle commenced. It did make Ittindi chuckle that even a god like being still used magic circles, it seemed that his recently adapted skill was something that surpassed an avatar, hopefully that wouldn't bring any attention to him. It just solidified that he should stick to his weapon more than his magic, lest he impress the god.

Tōga  had his own weapon, while it wasn't military serialized like his, Ittindi was still impressed with it's size and magic aura radiating off the weapon. While the God's avatar flame's were starting to flow towards her, like a gust of unfavorable wind, Tōga ‘s mouth instead drew the flames towards him. While Ittindi was behind the man, the intense heat was still enough to cause him to start profusely sweating. Luckily for him, he had cleaned enough in hot summers, that he wouldn't let something like that stop him. He wouldn't even bother to wipe his eyes as the sweat stung through mixing with tears as he glanced towards the avatar. Tōga was erupting steam from his body, and there was another person by his Young Master. They would come to Tōga  aid, having irregular rods emerge from their arm.

Meanwhile his Young Master was using the power he had seen previously. As the very sky seemed to bend to his will to empower him further, while he shouted at how useless all of the mages here were for taking defensive action. Ittindi wasn't exactly surprised his Young Master, middle name was aggression or demon or asshole depending on who exactly you were talking too. Ittindi knew that his allies were preparing for the onslaught, which might actually end up saving his Young Master, but he wouldn't point that out.

It was as his Young Master charged at the creature that Ittindi would try to help him out. He'd fire a shot directly at the avatar's chest hoping to distract it for his Young Master to be able to land a hit. In the best case scenario they'd both land.

Facing the overwhelming might of the goddess Quetzalcoatl, the makeshift band of warriors found themselves battling on two fronts - against the divine serpent, and amongst themselves. The crimson-haired hammer-wielder bristled with impatience, berating the group's lack of aggression before lashing out in a violent lightning strike against their foe. His biting words scarcely phased Tōga, who had finally finished devouring the goddess's flames, his cheerful smile returning amidst the smoke steaming from his mouth. Neither Ittindi, Tamás, nor the draconic princess appeared bothered by their comrade's outburst either. This glimmer of composure was a heartening sign amidst the chaos. Though divided within by clashing temperaments, the tetrad stood united without against the monumental goddess.

Tōga understood his role here was support - while Quetzalcoatl wielded divine flames as a weapon, he would serve as the fire suppressant, swallowing those blistering magics before they could ravage the battlefield. Proximity was key for his consumption ability, so he would need to stay mobile on the frontlines. But defense alone does not win wars; Tōga knew he would need to interweave heavy offense between each fiery feast. His allies brought their own formidable powers to bear, but the goddess was a cut above.

Quetzalcoatl erupted in blistering motion, blindsiding Knuckles with a divine bull rush. The serpentine goddess barreled into the crimson-haired warrior with enough cosmic might to obliterate mountains, seeking to flatten her foes in one swift stroke. A shockwave of force exploded outward, threatening to send the remaining fighters hurtling. But by providence of his draconic bloodline and Extinctas physiology, Tōga alone was unfazed - immune to staggering blows or forced retreat.

In that same instant, the ambient temperature spiked violently as pent-up flame erupted from Tōga's body in roaring jets. Searing steam vented through his pores as reddish scales flared across his skin, his eyes shifting to thin serpentine slits surrounded by molten gold. Fire and brimstone trailed his movements, wreathed in an infernal aura as he took on a draconic aspect. Tōga had tapped into his inherited Dragon Force, the dormant evolutionary magic awakening to his call.

Tōga hauled back his massive cleaver Zangetsu, mana pooling along the black blade's edge like golden raindrops. With a roar, he swung with focused precision, wielding care not to imperil his allies. Zangetsu carved a scintillating arc of power through the air - a slicing wave of light energy, amber and glowing, freighted with magical force. It aimed to crash into the creator Goddess in a thunderous detonation that carved the turf, lifting her divine frame off soil now glassed from the heat. Not only did it want to take from her in body, but also in spirit as it would leach her of the mana equal to the attack potency.; though how much this mattered to a divine being, only she knew.

Amidst the chaos of the battlefield, a glimmer of hope started to emerge. The ragtag group of mages, once faltering in the face of overwhelming power, began to show their potential. It was clear that all they needed was a little motivation, and Knuckles had given them just that. Leading the charge against the divine adversary, Knuckles had proven himself to be more than just a warrior; he was a beacon of courage for his comrades.

This god they were battling may have been mighty, but he was no strategist. As Knuckles observed, only a fool would remain stationary while an enemy was channeling a spell. But, much to his amusement, it seemed this god was among the foolish few. The moment Knuckles' bullet hit the god, a spark of realization seemed to ignite within it. The fight was far from over.

With the god momentarily stunned, it was time for Knuckles' allies to capitalize. His oldest and most trusted compatriot, Ittindi, was at the ready. However, despite their swift action, there was no escaping the imminent retaliation from the god. As quick as Knuckles was, he was unable to dodge the swift blow that resonated against his armor. Just as he anticipated, Tamas stepped into the fray, his sword cutting through the gusty winds with little to no struggle. The force of the windstorm did little to stagger Knuckles, who stood firm like a rock in a typhoon. Tamas' blade found its mark, and a spell from Toga soon followed, dealing more damage to the god.

For once, Knuckles held his tongue, refraining from his usual witty banter. The god seemed unresponsive, so he kept his comments to himself, focusing instead on the fight. Pushing off from his back leg, he swung his hammer upwards, aiming for the god's jaw. It was a futile attempt to shatter it, but it was a start. He noted the god's remarkable speed, but couldn't discern if it was innate or magically-enhanced. Regardless, Knuckles was prepared for whatever would come next. As the tussle with the god continued, they were finally making headway. However, their adversary didn't seem any worse for wear.

It wasn’t going as horrible as Ittindi imagined, while the battlefield would surely be destroyed. A problem that Ittindi intended to help clean afterwards, he was surprised by the lack of collateral damage the goddess seemed interested more in his Young Master. It made Ittindi believe her aforementioned words that she was here to test and guide humanity instead of rage unwarranted destruction. It also made him wonder what she planned on protecting them from, something that no doubt he and Tōga would have to report to the council. Perhaps this would render some of Ittindi’s grand plan null, but how his goals were accomplished mattered little to him.

The Goddess would dash at his Young Master, but the force of her momentum sent Ittindi flying back 17 meters backwards. This wasn’t Ittindi’s first time being overwhelmed by an opponent, and this one didn’t even deign to do damage to him, or was her strength at such a level that she didn’t even mean to knock him backwards?  Ittindi worried if his Young Master would be able to intercept such speed, while flying he would see the goddess meet not his Young Master, but the horned demoness with metal rods emerging from her body. Ittindi would manage to break his fall with his left hand slamming down and while dazed with some bruises he was alright. Standing up and regaining his balance he’d stomp his feet where soon after two web balls would launch him; now blasting back towards the group now only 7 meters away from the battle. He’d dust himself off, observing the flow of battle before firing another shot at the Goddess again aiming center mass unsure if he could target specific body parts with his first real combat with his new weapon.

He did find the situation a little humorous he had originally come here to find his Young Master and show him his newest weapon in the arsenal. Not to mention he also wanted to mention that he had been having disturbing dreams as of late, he felt that something was changing within him. What the final result would be, well he was too scared to face that in the heat of battle. Instead channeling all his focus into destroying this goddess, the civilians and warriors who were observing were blasted further away from the battle. Ittindi hoped they’d stay there so he wouldn’t have to worry about more deaths,  he was glad Tōga was here that assured him he wasn’t accidently helping the wrong side as sometime happened when with his Young Master.

His all to familiar bloodlust that had been developed as a result of working with the Young Master for to many years was starting to surface. While his gun was a new toy, something that he had great interest in practicing with, he had seen that many of the higher rank Knights had opted to their own personal weapon. While The knight and his Young Master bore down on the goddess, Ittindi had control of his magic pretty well, he could probably maneuver a string slash in well.

He’d extend his left arm gun still in his right, his new normal still felt a little weird. As a sharpened silk string shot directly from the palm of his left hand no magic seals necessary. He was prepared to have it stop and maneuver it if necessary from the rapid swings coming from a demon no a dragon? Ittindi wasn’t sure what the thing was, as its servants rushed at the Goddess as well. Ittindi was close enough that he felt empowered, his bloodlust awakening even deeper. He'd have to take another breath, trying to push out the intrusive thoughts, he had never felt this rush of strength before. Magic was a weird thing, Ittindi was sure that the Demon Dragon was blessing them, or perhaps it was the goddess herself, he couldn’t be sure. The dragon would then do a fly by claw and all towards the goddess, their combined wrath could level a kingdom by itself. Ittindi would have to ask his Young Master and Tōga what they knew about the other combatants at another time shelfing those thoughts and continuing to keep an eye on the goddess, she seemed busy with the three creatures directly in her purview.
