Jikan

A flame flickered in the light. The early morning dew of the sky as the soft sounds of birds singing and deer awakening from their slumber filled the air. The dying sounds of the fire a symbol of the end of the night's watch as its crackled and popped. Smothered by the rush of rocks and dirt over its entity. Fiery red strands of hair reflected the last springs of life of the burnt orange glow flame.

The scouting forces of the Joya resistance freedom fighter had returned. Welcomed back to their squads and camp sites with good news to all. Information. statistics reporting to them that the enemy was defeated in a number of locations within Chishi. It was a steady progression of closing in on them, the breathing space growing thinner as the walls of the opposite threatened to choke them. Leading to a great number of focused retreats to the inner parts of Joya, one of them being the Yaezu Port.

With a slow straightening of her long white toned legs, Jikan stood and finished the concealment of her campfire before walking forward. It was good to know where their foes had slithered off to. The terrain they were in may have been the enemies home but it had become their domain at the end of their initial clashes. Now blockades had been hastily created to act as a defensive perimeter to keep the pursuing rebel forces out. "I hope they plan to do much more than that", Jikan said as she waved adieu to the scout that informed her. Letting the female scout go off to spread the word alongside her team. In that moment Jikan had moved ready to begin preparation herself due to the reveal of her next likely battle location.

They would have to act quickly to join in and take advantage of the night still being present and the enemy not yet up from the sun. They had to act before day break. Notes had been sent off by horseback, Jikan  chose to send letters off to her Sleeping Calamity members through birds. She wondered which would arrive first? It would be the same in the end either way. And before long someone, a general she supposed of their forces, were handing out with lacrima stones devices for close range communications for the operation.

The movement for the rest phase of this war would be soon. Sun was still asleep in its lullaby, still sitting on the horizon. The darkness teetering in the distance, an abyss around the port that seemed to make the water deeper than it really was. It was as if the briefest touch could have them sink away and be swallowed away. Both armies hid away between the trees, the 'walls', structure, and various depths of water around the city.

The night sky, peppered by its stars and the lonely moon that would soon turn blood red. The lightsource of now was a flickering flame as the next part of the war would soon begin. His sword was sharpened and ready for blood.

The allied forces prepared each in their own way. Tamas wasnt really with his guild during this war. Nor did he really want to be as truthfully he wasnt supposed to be here. His partner was. Tamas was sure his partner would've gotten along with Sleeping Calamity. It was a shame he remained back in Fiore. He wondered how did he feel knowing he couldnt make this trip. He also wondered how was Sleeping Calamity holding up. They really showed their mettle during this war. He had respect for them, it was a shame some things didnt work out for either him or them. But what was done was done. There was no use in dwelling in the past. You had to look onward to the future

And he had big plans for the future, hence why he wanted to learn from Jikan moreso than from Yuurei. He could be with Yuurei whenever, so it was whatever. Now Jikan though, that was a rare treasure to be seen. He doubted he would see her anytime soon after this war. So he wanted to use his upmost of time with her and learn as much as possible from her. She could consider him like a temporary and unofficial Sleeping Calamity member at this point. Because he was in their presence more so than any guilds that are present.
Granted he wasnt really up there in their face. More like a distant sideline watching them and listening to them and how they interact. He remembered how she defended one of her guildmates in that last battle. It really stuck to him. He should do that too.

The female scout that talked to Jikan has left, so he watched curiously what was their next move. They had to act before day break. Notes had been sent off by horseback, Jikan chose to send letters off to her Sleeping Calamity members through birds.
He was relatively close though. Should he say hi. Perhaps he should. But as he went for the approach, someone, a general he supposed of their forces, was handing out with lacrima stones devices for close range communications for the operation. Even Tamas got one. Did the general confuse him as a Sleeping Calamity member? His cape was like still soaked red, so his guild logo wasnt seen. Tamas shrugged. Dont look a gift horse in its mouth.
He moved into position for this battle. Notably closer to the guild master here and gave her a nod for a greeting. Still, he figured he could try the lacrima communication to talk to her
"You lead, I follow" a simple enough exchange

Jikan

It had begun.  The zephyr air sang its song. The night sky and its light the background and stage for the performance of muse and the movements that would follow.  The stars perhaps destined to shine as a spotlight for the warriors that would grow in fame and infamy on this day. The moon as the sole seated audience high above for a grand view. Their small number of weak lightning was quickly dwindling. The candies of light shrinking to less than a real hand held existence. Martial weapons were gripped. The straps of defensive items tightened. And armor defenses examined. Preparation of the body in full right, but for Jikan. That was well beyond done. Now, it was the kind and spirit. And when she thought of the battles to come, her fiery battle spirit grew in anticipation. Running through her limbs like a short jolt of electricity. A feeling that was shared by the members of Sleeping Calamity present here. That desire for growth and competitiveness spurred on by the shared love for battle. What did the other groups gathered at this combat think and feel though? How were they holding up? The Sleeping Calamity members? At a first glance one would have thought they were fine. Great in fact. But the veterans of the field could see it. The physical wounds, the mental wear and tear; 0ure fatigue. A string that was hanging on by a thread waiting to snap at a moment's notice. Mettle or not. There was only a limit one could as an individual, and even more for some groups.

It was a challenge. A game of life and death that could be a learning experience for those that survived. Jikan had no idea Tamas wanted to learn from interacting with her. Such a proposition was out of the realm for her. After all, maybe she could grow from it as well.  Experience was Experience after all, and any chance to gain further information about the other forces within North that she needed to be cautious of and its individuals was a welcoming thing. Perhaps Jikan would grow to envy rge man's company, perhaps he would just be another passerby in her life, or maybe something she could use for something.

With her letter sent it did not take long for some of the Sleeping Calamity members to make their way to her. Standing two like a mixed bag of armed military personnel and a rowdy bunch of a connected posse. A few smiles, a few frowns filled with personality, and even some stone cold stunners of unemotional stares. None treated Tamas differently in their interactions. Some liking and hearty with the man even from the sight of his well done battles on the field. Tales spreading as such amongst themselves.

Either way, that interpersonal development was of little meaning right now for them. It was time for battle! In an unordered line of attention they stood. The clicks of Jikan's steps sounded as she stood before them. Sword pulled out and pointed down into the ground sheath and all. Her stance was calm but priming in focus that many had grown to know and see. "Read up on the notes quickly. The enemy has been located, we move out immediately", she said short and sweet to the point. A start before their group and the others attention was shifted to the General began handing  out their communication devices. A rare few had never seen such a device before and curiously fumbled about with it. Shaking and feeling the device before a few more seasoned members of Sleeping Calamity shushed the activity. Gaining a stop of the activity with an addition of light nervous laughter and titters.

A short parental sigh came from Jikan as she took the lacrima stone communication devices in her hand. Not surprised by some of the tone and attitude of her forces before returning to her calm emotionless mask. Letting the forces move she took her time moving a number of people  position from her legion by pointing to them and making hand motions towards areas. A wordless communication through training and experience work together, able to take heed of their Guild Masters directive before a word had to be given. After doing so Jikan’s red eye of death flickered, shifting to see Tamas who had moved towards her fully. A nod of welcome was given in return before she knelt low and pressed a hand to the ground. It seemed the circumstances of war pulled the two together once again.

"Lets start our barrage then Tamas", Jijan said softly after hearing his words. Mana flowing to her lacrima stone as she built up her magic in her arm. "Section 1…move", as she spoke she furthered charged her spell. The arcane spell circle forming a large magical circle around her body. "Section 8, pressure".

Following her commands over the magic device. One group silently moved to enter stealthy while another group began to make their way. Entering not so silently from the opposite direction planning to penetrate deeper before beginning chaos and taking the enemy by surprise.

"Tamas. With your magic you are a titian mixed in with a battering ram. Care to take down the wall and light the path forward?".

She spoke to him, noticably more softly. He briefly wondered if he was accepted and seen as himself and not just another Paradise Dawn lackey that she'd have a disdain for.

All in all, she said that they shall begin their barrage "Understood" was all that he said in reply. Afterwards she spoke of Section 1 and 8, and giving them their orders. One to move and the other to pressure.
Tamas wasnt sure where he was group and section wise so he'd just follow Jikans orders and actions. Whatever section group she was in, he'd follow the command. He'd be able to see and adapt what others do

One group silently moved to enter stealthily while the other group would begin to make their way. Entering not as stealthily from the opposite direction planning to penetrate deeper before beginning chaos and taking the enemy by surprise.

Thats when Jikan directly spoke to him, and she was right, with his magic he was like a titan and a battering ram put into one. So he needed to take down a wall. He nodded
"It shall be done" and thats when he used his greed magic and charged onward to punch through the barricade wall to clear the way for the rest. Truth be told, he never used this magic of his in such a way. But he was glad he was able to suceed for the cause.
Soon enough the way for others would be clear and they would be able to go onward in their battle efforts

Jikan

From the outside looking in it could look like an unclear declaration. The simplicity and location of troops. But for Jikan and the forces within Sleeping Calamity that was with her it was all second nature. Many had fought under and with Jikqn by now a few times. With that it was easy for habits and plans to be made in the middle of this war. It would make sense to have the funeral things detailed out by now with how Jikan was. She liked to separate different sections of fighters up into specialities if she could help it. Stealth, airborne usage, communication. Of course there would be other specialization trinkled in but each had a specific job to focus on. Those two sections she called out was a stealth group that had some mass area damage potential, while the pincers forces from the other side were more of an average force. A blend of power and defense that could quickly make their way to locations. Jikan would trust her members and the other Joyan forces with them to do well and survive.

Soft tone as it was. It was firm. Confident. Jikan had belief in Tamas abilities; he was the image of a true warrior so far after all. The wall that needed to come down was child's play in comparison to the value she had seen within him. His colors may be an inescapable awareness factor to ignore, but for now. When the job was called, Jikan had her focus before her. He was accepted as he was, albeit with a cautious mind present. He may be a member of Paradise Dawn but he was Tamas. It was funny in a way, for it was the same as how Jikan wished things for herself. She may be the guild master of an illegal guild, but she did not care about what people thought of her due to her connections. It was all about her principles and who she was.

With those few words spoken. Feels quickly shuffled and thumped. The unnerving silence as their approach came. The muffled sounds of armor and body as the inner linings. Creeping on a section of sleeping warriors before the quick sound of weapons sounded and the terrified shrieks of death came. The BOOOOM of the outer walls came at the same time that Tamas as he layered his arm in his greed magic to demolish the wall they were before with ease. "Well done!", Jikan said after seeing Tamas' efforts. The debris from the wall flew and scattered past them as Jikan stood forward watching calmly.

With a bounce off her toes she was off. The sounds of explosions being the flare signal for the assault to truly begin. She would signal for the people alongside her to come forward if they wished. The squad rushed forward into the area of the wall that Tamas had created. Her eyes scanned forward and up around. Noticing a number of vantage patrol points already being contested for control. The area of combat was still basked in darkness, the clouds holding back the flickering night sky. The flaming torches thinned as one by one they were being snuffed out with each step forward.

With a slide of her feet Jikan flickered up a thumb. The sword on her hip was drawn and with one might swing of her Senbonzakura, Jikan shattered the armor of an unlucky warrior. Seeing his bloody body streaking into the air before crashing down onto two comrades that fell behind him. Dozens of warriors walked through the hole. By the time they fully had came in Jikan had ready dashed forward in a run several meters forward meeting what was to come next with eagerness.

As much as he didnt want to be seen as just a Paradise Dawn member he made sure to work extra hard for this cause, for this battle. He followed the orders to a t. And after some time it seemed that he was earning the respect of Jikan, which meant a lot to him as he did respect her. Whether you are a Guild Master of a legal or illegal guild is irrelevant, the fact that you are one shows you are a wise and capable person and that something can be learned from you. Jikan was a good leader and he hoped to be just as good in the future.

When Jikan told him to smash thru a wall, he did so by using his Greed Magic. It offered him the extra power in defence to plow through that as his body wasnt as squishy with that magic. Once he heard Jikan say Well Done, he merely nodded in gratitude as a sign that he did hear her and not ignore her, but also to focus on the battle. After all, they can have small talk when they are not in battle.

As the sound ie signal for assault began, that is when the true battle began and the allied forces would move onward to the enemy. Jikan would use her Senbonzakura to slice teh armour of her foes and slice them as well. She used her abilities expertly.
While his blade was not as impressive as hers, it still served its purpose to slice and stab the enemy forces that would find themselves on the opposite end of his blade

The battle raged on and he would see Jikan march onward. He would follow suit. Its not that she needed backup or anything. But you never know just in case. Besides with those stealth guys you never know. Always good to have an extra set of eyes. Also, he also wanted more foes and see what the enemy forces had in store of them ahead. He was eager for more challenge

Respect was an odd thing. In the end when it came to life and death. It was of no significance when you were at the end of a blade's tip. It was either you won or you lost in the game of survival of the fittest. For some there were no limits to the end. But for Jikan that was not so. There were lines that would never be crossed. There would be standards upheld purely for her entertainment and joy. If not. Then it was just a tunnel vision mission of murder. Not something she was against but rarely did she ever get so vindictive or hurt to think of doing such a thing.  But that was ot the case on this job. She had her focus and goals set. Victory and the destruction of the current order of Joya. So regardless. Red, blue, green, or purple. Be the draw of the thrill t battle. The anger of child slavery. She would throw it all aside if it meant it ended. She did hold a level of respect towards Paradise Dawn and its members. Tamas, one of the few that she has had an opportunity to explore more of, was…growing on her a little bit. A tiny bit.

With the wall smashed through and their forces slithering in. With the signal dawning in the field the sounds of battle softly grew. The first few dominos fell to the taps of the Joya resistance. With the fall of bodies painting the floors and walls as they moved forward. It was only a matter of time before their advantage of surprise and shock would turn into a fierce angry counter of anger and revenge. A call that would be answered by an enemy commander who was awakened in the middle of the chaos. A panicked sweat underneath their dawned white  garbs. A silver headpiece embedded with an elegant dragon shaped into it. Red gems pressed into the dragon's eyes to give a crimson blood glow that threatened to seep out in a misty touch to the soul. Matching crafted long swords hung at their back as this commander was aroused from his tent by the call of battle. The last flickering lights held to life by their entrance as the gazed out away from the battlefield in their safe little nest. The scared voice of an underling was his greeting as the explosions sounded as the enemy forces approached.

"S-sir! Our forces are being demolished and our numbers advantage is dwindling! We are not ready for this. We need to go, now!!".

The enemy commander sighed. One of his free hands went to the hilt of his blade on his back as he looked about towards the burning darkness. In a silver line thread in a split of a second the messenger's head thumped to the floor before beginning a slow roll. "Anyone who speaks like this coward dies by my hand. Run. You die. Lose, you die. Your only chance is go fight for our wonderful Shogun and carve a lesson of not daring yo rebell into their flesh and minds. I shall not repeat myself twice, understood!?!!?", boomed the man's voice as a vein line throbbed from his forehead underneath the white mask.

With a flick of his sword he slammed his blade into the eye socket of the man's head as his lifeless body fell to the ground. His other hand outstretched hand commanding them to charge and fight. His eyes scanned forward swiftly doing quick calculations of the circumstances he had to face. As bad as this looked, he could point out several points of weakness in the enemy's approach. As fierce as they were, they weren't as smart as they thought. A note that made him scoff, of course. A rag band group of rebell civilians with hired hands. They were trash in comparison to their mighty military. As another explosion sounded in the distance he gave the order to seek out breach points and contain them.

"Use the slaves to back up the guards at those points. Make sure to give those collars a shock if they try to not fight".

Where as one side respected eachother, the other has not. And that was shown with the arrival of the enemy commander. One could tell what his rank was due to his attire. But his actions were in the Knights eyes foolish. For where as one of the foes showed worry and wisdom to retreat and lose a battle but win the war. The foolish commander merely beheaded him and used fearmongering to force the armies to go to their deaths. He paraded with the stabbed and beheaded head. He dwindled his own numbers that way.

He had to admit, the commanders actions were quite the attention grabber, but he could not afford to be distracted. The last thing he needed was a sneak attack. So he marched onward with the allied forces to take down the enemy. Tamas meanwhile mostly aimed to close his distance and face the commander. Once he got the opportunity to meet up with Jikan in the heat of this battlefield, he spoke to her "I shall try and get that commander" he filled her in on his own plan, thus allowing her a chance to join him if she wants or maybe tell him to focus his attacks elsewhere. Basically he made sure to communicate with the 'commander' or 'general' of this battalion or such.

Depending what Jikan decided, he would either go to face the enemy commander and challenge him to battle or he would follow whatever other directive Jikan would give him as the current allied leader. In any case, his goal was the same. To win this war for the allied forces. As he wasnt quite too deep and knowledgable into Joyan politics about their Shogun or their new would be leader. All he knew people like that Commander had to go down

Jikan

Jikan felt a stir in the wind. As if she was being pressured by someone's very presence. From their distance away, it was easy to tell the killing intent that was unleashed. Suffocating to say the least in its allure to her hungry thirst for battle. An enemy commander was here! And one full of calloused cruelty ready to act even to their own troops. Words filled with a lack of foresight and calculation that Jikan wanted to scoff at. He would be amusing all the same in the end in his mistake while his own forces would just be weaker in their mind and spirit in the end due to his fearmongering. These were the type of commanders that simply sowed seeds of betrayal whenever the peasants beneath them met their breaking point.

Taking a time to note the paraded head though, it was not much longer before Tamas marched through along the other enemy forces before reaching speaking distance with her.  His statement was not a surprise to her one bit. And she had to let out a soft chuckle as she began to turn, moving away from the commander to shift towards another path of battle. Dibs seemed to have been called. "Hehe beat me to it. You're gonna take him on by yourself? Require some crowd control?". Jikan spoke while continuing to battle as the forces began to slow down as the numbers of prolonged fights began to grow.

Further on on the enemy commander's side the disapproving actions seemed to, for now, have an immediate success with the enemy troops. Any for that ran quickly turned, seemingly catching a boom of power and a second wind as they fought with an animalistic intensity that threatened to overwhelm their opponents. With a wave of the commander's hand, a wave of warrior cries boomed forward as the Joyan resistance was pushed back!

"BRING THE DOGS. ITS TIME TO FEAST".

It seems that Jikan was on the same wavelength as him as she too wanted to take down this enemy commander that was filled with hubris as he believed his fearmongering will crush their forces. Fool only crippled his own with fear that way.
Jikan asked if he requires some crowd control. Tamas answered "It would be an honour"
He always welcomed the assistance of his allies. He was not like this fool to cut down his allies and reject his companions.

Nevertheless the tides of battle were changing. He wondered did the enemy force just get a second wind from that death threat? Nevertheless he readied himself and blade as he prepared to clash with the enemy. His goal was clear. To cut his way through his foes and to give the enemy commander that which he deserves. Just karma. To get his own head and see whats it like. And as a boon, he would take the commanders katana as a trophy. He always loved to collect swords. And he would love to study a joyan katana. Which was something that excited him more

His Fiorian longsword versus a Joyan katana. Which blacksmith made better weapons, better steel. Which warrior used the weapon better. As a fiorian, he believed his techniques were superior, his discipline. But still was curious how the joyans did it with their kendo or whatever they call it.
With Jikan and her crowd control abilities as she puts them, he would make his way through the enemy lines over to the commander, to challenge him to a battle to the death. His head will soon roll and his sword will belong to him.
Perhaps Tamas was filled with hubris too, thinking of taking someones sword at a time like this. But currently, he believed he would not be able to get a katana unless he took one now
