When they made it at the base of a cliff that overlooked the city of Rush Valley. Lumikki left her perch. Taking to the skies once more and hovering high above her Uncle. She awaited Huginns return, and sure enough soon he came. Bearing news for Uncle Brone she thought. Sure enough he directed his men, they parted into groups and set forth to the point her Uncle chose. Lumikki made note of them herself for when she needed to direct the survivors. Hoping by the time the people of the city found their way, the path would be clear.

She followed her Uncle to Salley Port, figuring this would be a good time as any to break off herself. Keeping in mind this new addition in the routes to lead victims as she set deeper into the city. At first she kept to her Raven form. Flying the skies to scout around. There was no rush returning to her women form blind, she couldn’t chance getting ambushed.

She flew over the points the mercenaries were assigned, looking over all the progress. The men had not made it far in clearing the path from what she could observe, but it was being cleared. Many of the Chaos Eclipsed men were already dispatched of. Their corpses piling the roads as she would have hoped. This pleased Lumikki as she looked lower beside the buildings and entries. Looking out and listening for hidden residents. Minding to keep by the mercenaries as she did so that she was sure the path would be clear.

At first, nothing came of it. She was mostly met with silence and destruction. But in one house, she heard the crying of a child before quickly being hushed. “I am Lumikki of Paradise Dawn croak. One of the ravens of Brone. Please come out, we need to get you out of here. A path is being made now as we speak by mercenaries nearby, though who knows how long they’ll stay clean.”

She waited for a response or some movement. Something to make their hiding spot clear. Instead she was met with silence. Her impatience was rising rapidly as she waited. “Look here,” she began again with ice lacing her tone, ”I do not have the time to waste here long. Ye aren’t the only ones needing escorting. You got till three before I fly off to help another. One…….two…thr.”

Before she could finish her final word, she saw rustling. A head poking out from under the bed,  then followed by two more. All of them belonged to children, this put a pit in her stomach. The eldest couldn’t be more than fourteen years of age. The smallest looked as though she could be five. She understood it must have been a handful for the older brother to keep them safe and she sighed as they finally approached her. “Birdie birdie!” Went the little one before quickly being hushed. The middle child, probably nine years old himself, raised his hand to pet her. What an odd sensation she thought, no one had ever pet me let alone a child. Though she didn’t fight it as he did. “It really is a bird,” he said. The oldest brother after watching his little brother decided to finally speak up himself. “You were the one talking right? Is it really safe to come out?”

Lumikki looked over to him, gazing at his eyes. She saw how tired he was from trying his hardest to keep things together. “Sure enough kid, if we get to moving now. Like I said, can’t be sure if more scum shows. Since ya’ll as small as you are, I’ll stick with you for a bit to make sure you make out fine.” She nuzzled the little brother's hand before stepping away from his grasp and flying to the window. For now it seemed that the coast was clear, she’d continue to overlook the area to make sure that stayed that way. “Go on, start heading down. I’ll keep watching as ye do and meet you out there. When you step out, make for the east and don’t stop. I’ll be just above keeping watch, if a grunt of two shows, I can handle ‘em fine. Keep to the shadows and stay close to me. Ye got it?”

The eldest nodded as he took his siblings' hands, leading them downstairs then out the door. As he was instructed he kept to the shadows, heading for the east like he was told. Lumikki took to the skies to scan the ways, her greater sight piercing through the dimming of the light as evening mixed with the darkened sky was overhead. The mercenaries already long past this stretch of road, bodies of the enemy still all around. Just a bit more and the children should be fine she thought, that was until something shining caught her eye. It was the blade of a Chaos member, a party of two were approaching. Probably scouting to see if they could retake the road and block further entry. Little did she care, swooping quickly beside the children for a moment so that she may whisper “Tuck away and hide my kiddies, there's something I need to take care of.” She rose to the air soon after circling the sky so that she would spawn from behind. The kids wasted no time finding cover in the shadows.

“Are you sure they are gone?! What did they call themselves, Paradise Dawn? If that's the case, we need to get back fast and tell the others. Maybe they could send more men so we could have a cleaner fight,” one of the Chaos men exclaimed to the other, not like Lumikki cared. They won’t find themselves telling a soul a thing about what’s happened.

She glided the air, lowering herself nearly to the floor of an ally, right behind the men as they walked. Feathers spinning around her, nothing more than the sound of falling leaves, before peeling away to reveal the Daemon woman staff in hand.

She was sure to walk softly behind them, the men nearly exiting the ally towards the road the kids had hid away. Before they could take a proper step out, Lumikki rose and clasped her hand before her, the shadows along the wall shaping and warping into tendrils from her will, snatching the men. Squeezing them very tightly till they could hardly take another breath, before slamming them harshly into the walls. Lumikki smirked as she heard the cracking of their bones before dragging their bodies back into the alley. Walking out alone as if nothing had happened.

“Okay kiddios, back in formation. We aren’t that much farther to the entry and mercenaries should be round standing guard.” She clapped so that the children knew to move faster, the middle child staring at her before asking if she really was the bird from before. She winked as her feathers blew around her once again, shooting into the sky as a raven once more. The two small ones couldn’t tear their eyes away in astonishment. The eldest gripping their hands and forcing them to move while they stared.

Sure enough as Lumikki said, they really weren’t far. There were other residents running towards the gates as mercenaries received them, directing the people to various groups. Lumikki flew ahead of the kids, alerting the men to the children's arrival. She soon perched to watch them come from the city and get taken in. A woman from the groups ran forward to meet them, sobbing as she pulled them into her grasp. Lumikki herself was somewhat moved from the sight, bothered by the stirrings it gave her. Though she was quite pleased with her simple victory. Something only she could do. She took to the skies without saying more to them, the little brother pointing at her as she flew away. The eldest explained to the women what happened as she cried happily.

Lumikki gave thought to the people she left behind as she flew through the sky. A tad emotional when she thought more of it. She knew she would be helping and serving the people when she entered the guild. More so under the instruction of her Uncle. Yet nothing could compare with meeting something akin to a tragedy. Especially at the hands of brutes and weak men. Her desire to help only grew as her anger and disdain for those who attacked her home. She tried to keep a level head remembering Gnicolas’ worries, those children to the women as she is to her Uncle and his companions.

So off she went to help in a way even she could, getting those who needed to be out safely. For now she’ll leave the bigger battles to the others.

Lumikki saw the mercenaries clearing the path from the south, they just managed to take out a group of men. Reliving the people they held captive. Most were checking the residents to see if they were fine, only two on watch for more. Lumikki scanned below herself hoping to provide some cover, her men were distracted with the people. She lowered her flight so that she glided the air around the roof, hoping to catch any enemy off guard. When the men were wrapping up the operation, a few went on to take on more territory, the rest hung back to watch over the people and get them ready to move. Lumikki peeped some residents on the other side and guided them back to the group. Just before she took off to find more, she caught something moving on the corner of her eye. No sound and no screaming, she was suspicious. Flying to the shoulder of a mercenary, she whispered her observations. His head nearly cocking from the surprise before looking in the direction she instructed. He gestured to the others with his hands and they prepared for an attack.

Lumikki flew up again and circled the air as she had before. Finding herself behind the enemy. Croaking loud into the air to confirm her suspicion to the men below and alerted their location. Once again she peeled back her form, returning to that of a woman but with purple eyes as she snapped her fingers. The enemy looked back before frost encased his skin. The three men could hardly move let alone look back, before she rose and clasped her hand again. Dark frost tendrils sprouting from the corners and wrapping the men before tossing them down to her own. They quickly circle those that have fallen, finishing them off for her. She glided back to the ground to meet them in her proper form. The mercenaries were almost surprised to see a woman so small was the one to assist them before she was wrapped with feathers and a bird once more flying back into the sky.

Lumikki hardly flew long or got very far before she found a new conflict happening below. The men that left the group of mercenaries earlier were at work cutting down more Chaos men. She perched a roof to observe below, planning where she would chime in. The men on both sides clashed toe to toe but the fight looked in Paradise Dawn’s favor. At least it would be if the incoming Chaos men didn't reach the fight, She saw them running along the side streets as they made their way to the battle. She still had plenty of time to prepare for their arrival so she descended into the ally in between, intercepting the enemy back up. In a flurry of feathers, she was a woman once more. In a stomp of her feet, a wall of ice rose. Cutting off the route for the moment. She doubted they would take the risk of climbing and probably find another way around. So she thought it was time to shave off some numbers in this fight.

Raising her hand and clasping the air many times as she conjured tendrils from the shadows dancing below, yanking at the men out of their fight. The mercenaries took the moment to cut away as the brutes were tangled. Making quick work of them and whoever remained.

“Good, good yea but more are coming. I blocked the way over but they’ll be here soon enough. Brace yourselves, I won’t know where they’re coming from down here. I’ll take this side road alone, ya’ll sort the rest yourselves.” Lumikki said before manning her entry. The mercenaries wasted no time and asked no questions. They divided themselves and waited for the enemy.

The air hissed as a hand axe flew, cleaving at her arm. She moved just barely in time before it could do real damage, icing her wound so she wouldn’t bleed. Much time had passed since Paradise Dawn entered the city. The evening had turned to night. The enemies really thought they could hide within the darkness and ambush, shame she could see them clearly. Lumikki drew in her breath and the dark with it, sustaining her energy and mana with one move. Then before the men could make another more she exhaled deeply. Her breath turned into a frigid mist as it passed through the magic circle. Catching them crouched together off guard. With the rise of her arm and flick of her wrist, the dark behind her swirled and sought the last opponent. Freezing him over and slowing his movement as well, like the others. From there she clawed the air in an upward motion causing obsidian ice shards to jut from the ground piercing the men. They hardly stood a chance she thought, not like I could afford a stronger opponent at the moment. She called out to the mercenaries nearby, almost done with their Chaos men as well. A few came her way running past her to finish the men attacked off, one stopping to look over her arm.

“Good work little miss, leave it to the Ice Demoness to come and change the tide of battle!” Her fellow warriors were pleased, Lumikki coming in when she had saved many of their lives. One came from behind and patted her head affectionately before walking off to the others. The one overlooking her arm just finished patching it properly.

She looked at them all taken aback. Sure she wanted them to win and be safe but this feeling wasn’t something she considered. It felt deeply warming, a tinge she wouldn’t have expected. Suppose without realizing, even these guys became her family. She wouldn’t tolerate seeing them fall.

“I’ll be flying back around to check on the others, if you have any messages to send tell me now.” They looked each other over, murmuring amongst themselves until they settled what they could ever want to pass on. Lumikki shifted into a raven preparing to set out once more, observing her kin before taking flight.

“Let them know squad three made it to sector fifteen, minimal casualties. We’ll be setting back for the eastern point soon enough,” said one of the men at last. “Oh and Ice demoness, stay safe out there.” Lumikki scoffed as she flew off, but she took it to heart all the same. She glanced at them one more time before flying away.
