Khalfani †

Submerged in the water, Khalfani was entirely in their zone. Nothing else mattered in this moment as the water cut off all noise like a sound-proof wall. This was their therapy. It didn't matter what time of year it was, this place was always the same temperature-wise, so a dive in the pool at six in the morning was perfectly normal, expected by now as apart of their routine. Six months in and they were still in the process of getting used to their whole...position in this country. You know, with being the Pharaoh's grandchild and all. Political power was something Khalfani aspired for for as long as they could remember. Their goals required them to be able to make decisions that could effect entire countries at a time, but now that they were actually in this position, there were so many things that they hadn't been prepared for. Having this status of nobility only made them frustrated. It was just a pretty title that they really couldn't do much with as is.

The Pharaoh's word was law, so really, there was so much more they had to do. Of course, the vampire didn't agree with everything their grandfather did. Besides feeling like a glorified diplomat, they also had developed more enemies than they had expected- specifically from people outside of the kingdom. Nomadic chiefs, beast-tamers, people who found purpose outside of the rich bountiful cities of Desierto. There were people that loved them too. Alongside their brother Khnurn, they had become the prince-brothers of Desierto with their older brother being more famous.

The most annoying "perk" of all was having guards and servants follow you everywhere. EVERYWHERE. All day. Everyday. It was to the point where Khal had to damn near beg the Pharaoh to remove them. Maybe that's what power looked like? It wasn't enough. Perhaps it would never be enough. The driving force of their commitment to the Pharaoh was power and they needed more but not in the way of senseless guards following you pretending that they could protect you better than themselves. Sure, there was undoubtedly the aspect of love involved in their relationship with their grandfather somewhere, but what mattered most was how they could use that power. Everything was politics- as much as they hated it. It was all politics. As they emerged from the water, they ran their fingers through their hair, water dripping down their body as they gazed out and leaned over the ledge to watch the sun rise.

Villa:

At least the only things they had to complain about was having too many guards. They smiled with a sigh. This was the first time they were genuinely happy. Man, times had changed so fast. One minute they had been young and lost, found by Odin, given purpose, but angry at the world with no real plan on how to go about seeking vengeance...and now they were just...chilling. Still, there was so much for them to learn. They may have bulked up and shit, fought a few people and wrestled a few monsters, but there was still a huge gap between them and Khnurn. Even Odin and Konyo. The Pharaoh expected the vampire to aid their elder brother in battle against more of their incoming enemies in the future, but they were quite literally the weakest out of the family and even the trio that was Khnurn, Konyo and Khalfani themselves. Triple K the people called them. It was embarrassing to actually admit to themselves. It was for that reason that the Pharaoh had paid someone to mentor them, though the young Morningstar had no idea when they would show up today...

"ربي" Khalfani heard, slowly turning their back towards the rising sun as the guard wrapped in fabric holding a spear and shield walked forward from the opening that led to the long pool Khal was in. "Hm?" they inquired. "يوجد من يراك هنا ، أرسله فرعون." For a moment there was silence. The Eternal nightmare mage attempted to figure out who it could be but to no avail. "Hm. It's early..." They said before turning around and facing the sun. They felt safe here. Completely safe in fact. "أرسلهم ، شكرا لك" Khalfani said coldly, telling the guard to bring the visitor in as they gazed toward the peeking sun.

Kon

Continuing on with his lengthy journey through the desert plains of Desierto, Kon rebounded his long flowing robes, dabbed beeswax onto his cracking lips hoping to sooth them until he made it back to the kingdom. Things had been rough for the Hawkeye, having been ambushed by desierto natives, who beat and bruised him until fleeing into the sands as Kon tried to retaliate. The attrition from these constant attacks and the unbearable heat was why he had left the country in the first place. He had only come back at the request of Khalfani, to what end, Kon didn’t know. The need must have been urgent with him being summoned through a desierto ambassador to Joya. Trusting his wouldbe protegee, he had immediately left what had been an oasis compared to the environment he was now travelling in. Long were the days since he had experienced rain fall down upon him. Instead he only had the long, seemingly unending sun bearing down upon him to look forward to. With nothing but the blood of various desert creatures sustaining him, Kon reached the entrance to the rich capital of the otherwise desolate land. It was such a stark contrast, the sandy dunes and the fertile land that was maintained by the inland river coming from the sea to the south of the country. Ignoring his rumbling stomach and dry mouth, knowing that he would be well looked after by Khalfani’s various aids and carers, Kon bypassed all the various shopkeepers peddling water, food, and other luxury goods and headed towards the villa.

Finally reaching the entrance, the Hawkeye was stopped by half a dozen guards with his desiertian adopted appearance all but concealing his bosco pale skin. While he would have thought his golden arm and bow would have been strong enough indicators, Kon still was forced to identify himself through his inexperienced use of the Desierto language. Unflurrying his headscarf with his golden arm to further reveal himself, the guards immediately drew back from his presence alone. Rushing towards Kon, a retainer for Khalfani approached him inviting them forward. Patting down the sand that clung between his ropes before entering the premises and shouted out to the Prince-Brother. “Friend, I have come a long way, the journey from Joya has been harsh, please allow me to savour your delicacies and rid the sand from my mouth.” Entering with a renewed laugh, Kon plucked a single grape from a silver tray before flicking it away instead, practically salivating as he looked at the neck of a beautiful consort. Recognizing there was a time and a place to feed on a person, Kon overlooked his dire thirst and instead returned his attention to Khalfani. “Now what can I do for you?”

Element: Arcane
Durability: Indestructible

Bonus

Speed: +60

Necklace

Name: Everfrost
Type: Necklace
Class: Unique
Quantity: Custom
Element: Frost
Durability: 1x S-Rank

Effects

  • Frost Shift: The user may change the element of their item spells to Frost, regardless of the spell original element, the modifiers of the spells will also be changed accordingly. This requires the user to pay the base amount of mana for the item spells for the effect to apply. Therefore, any mana reduction that would normally apply to item spells cast by the user would no longer apply when the item spell element is shifted. This doesn't grant the user elemental synergy since it doesn't change the elemental alignment of the item.

Relic

Name: Millennium Eye
Type: Eye
Class: Legendary
Quantity: Limited
Element: Arcane
Durability: Indestructible

Effects

  • Power Scouter: When looking at a target, the user can see the amount of mana they posses and their exact distribution of attribute points. They cannot mention the number to others since it would make no sense to them, but the user can make perfect sense of the value they see.
  • Type Scouter: The user can see the type (Offensive, Defensive, Supplementary etc.) of a spell when looking at one, and also the elemental-type to which that spell belongs. The user can also see which type of mana a target possesses when looking at them (Fire, Water, Earth etc.).
  • Mana Seeker: The user can see mana with the Millennium Eye. Therefore, even if their vision is completely blurred or the target is invisible, they can still see the silhouettes of whoever that possesses mana. Depending on how much mana they possess, the silhouette appears brighter or dimmer.

Modification

Name: Ferion's Hawken Eye
Slot: Modification
Type: Eye
Class: -
Quantity: Limited
Element: -

Effects

  • The user can see perfectly clear up to 100 meters. This means that if someone is holding a note 60 meters away, the user can read it as long as the line of vision is not obstructed.
  • The user can see the trajectory of projectiles. The lines of projectiles (where they will land eventually) will appear as lines in their sight as they are moving. Should the user have enough time to react, they will always be able to determine where a projectile will land. This does not count for spells that can be moved around by the will of the user. Only static movements can be predicted where they will land. Imagine a baseball being thrown and you see a line in front of the baseball ending one meter next to your foot. Should you have enough time to react, you could still catch it cause you know where it will land. Or dodge it.
    land.

    Cooldown: 1 Post

    Type: Supplementary
    Element: Arcane

    Cooldown: 1 Post
    Duration: Sustain

A single arrow, fireball, or even worse. Once a targeted has been Locked-On, all projectiles of the user will chase them.

Khalfani †

The water was always so refreshing, and what was even more amazing was the fact that it wasn't enchanted. The kingdom of Desierto had the best of everything. Of course, that was only an issue in the Sorcerers eyes. Best to enjoy it while they had the privilege too. The sun was no longer shying away from the horizon. Now it would prove to be triumphant as it arose gracefully. Such a powerful thing, the sun. A source of power that the vampire had been unlucky to no longer be able to harness. As the water trickled down their chest, they hear the shuffling of the feet of a guard. One foot at a time, but if there were two people then...

"Hm." the prince turned around only to see Konyo. One of the strongest people they had met to date. Not only that, but Konyo was a comrade who they had actually grown to care for. War had that effect. To build bonds almost taboo for the sake of survival. The beautiful man with delicate features and traits most simple-minded people would assume only pertain to women, was no pushover. He was mighty and had trained Khalfani diligently.

You see, Khalfani's magic was... not like other magics. It didn't conjure magic circles and it wasn't any tangible worldly element. Simply put, they had the ability to manipulate a force of nature that chose them. In other words, it was literally by the grace of God that they could use it. With that being said, their development was a lot slower than most folks. They had to train harder than the average mage. Meditation and keeping a level head was key. So, thanks to Konyo, the vampire had become better controlling it. Konyo took on the initiative to help Khalfani, knowing the circumstances. But then why were they here? Could it be that their grandfather is now paying Konyo to train them? If so...then Konyo truly was the ultimate hustler.

As the Hawkeye spoke, Khal could only smirk. Vampirism was no easy thing to control. The hunger itself had a mind of its own. "Of course, you can. I'm sure Shakir wouldn't mind." Khalfani said waving their hand. Shakir, the consort, widened their eyes. There was nothing he could do. Contrary to what he probably thought, he'd enjoy it a lot more than Kon would.

"You never fail to help me, brother. I guess my grandfather told you to come?" They asked. "But wait. Before we get into that...how are you feeling? You seem to have control over the darkness." Of course he did, Konyo was a genius.

Kon

While the former mage had begun to find a taste for human blood, Kon still felt displeasure from directly taking blood through the neck or even hand of a thrall. In all honesty he would have preferred to go out hunting, but alas Desierto was under the Pharaoh and by extension the brother’s watchful eye. And so as a half measure, Kon instead took the offer by plucking a silver goblet from a nearby table, removing a pocket knife before nicking Shakir’s right arm making sure not to cut a tendon or artery. Not allowing the crimson liquid to drip onto the ground for all but a second leaving behind a few drops, Kon motioned the injured limb over the goblet to allow it to fill before speaking. “I have been summoned to what end I do not know, whether it was from the Pharoah or otherwise, it was just fortunate that I was still in the area, afterall who knows how long it would take me if I had returned to Fiore.” Rubbing his chin slightly Kon pondered over the reason for him being there in the first place. “As for why perhaps you could help me?, I must admit I am weary from my travels and it would be inappropriate to address the king in my current state.”

With the goblet some three-quarters full, Kon eased off Shakir’s injured arm issuing him away before taking a hearty sip allowing the mellow liquid to tell him tales of the man’s life, his hardships, diet, relations. Such a curious thing to be able to experience with just a taste of someone’s blood, what he could learn from a king, warrior, scholar, he could only imagine. But all that was halted when Khalfani brought up once more the darkness, something that he felt was a burden that would continue to linger with him for quite some time. “I am conflicted, in a state of unease, indetermination, everything seems to be occurring without a sense of goal or ambition.” Sipping from the bloody chalice once more, Kon took respite. “I find myself on a tipping point, what should I do?, where should I go?, But that is something I must address myself, for what is important right now, yes the darkness is something I can handle and will not interfere with whatever needs to be done.”

Khalfani †

As far as Khalfani was concerned, here in Desierto, Konyo was deserving of the highest treatment. Shakir flinched as Kon drew his blood. The panther raised an eyebrow in surprise. Feeding wasn't as orgasmic when you didn't physically embrace the prey. Perhaps that's what made them so different. Khalfani hadn't fought the darkness, he embraced it and Kon? Kon preferred to neglect the culture of vampirism. Khalfani had turned him, which meant virtually nothing other than the fact that they were bonded, but he was...different. When all was done, Khalfani gestured for Shakir to come and so he did, holding his wrist as he shuffled towards the pool.

"Of course, I expect nothing less from my mentor." the Desiertan said with a sigh. The Desiertan climbed out of the pool dripping wet and entirely naked. Body tuned from months of training and war. His most private areas immaculate in more ways the one. Not a piece of fabric on his body. Shakir's faced reddened, but he could not turn away. Not until Khalfani told him to. That, was also something Khalfani hated about this place. "If you need anything, I'm here to help I hope you know that. If the urge ever becomes too strong, or if you simply need a place to stay." Khalfani said coldly before pausing and turning to Shakir. The servant was hesitant because he knew what was coming.

"May I? I need to feed." He asked. Shakir nodded and raised the slitted wrist to Khal's mouth. The naked prince closed his eyes and began drinking. His eyes flashed a bright red color as he relished in the pleasure. After about a minute, he nodded to Shakir to leave and turned to Konyo. "The Pharaoh sent you for me... I can't activate my magic for some reason. It's still something I'm struggling to grasp. Chaos is difficult to control and the Pharaoh doesn't like that I'm not dependable enough." Khalfani said coldly. Although he wouldn't show it, he was annoyed that he was the brother his grandfather had to keep an eye on all the time. Prophecies and fate or whatnot. "You said you needed help before meeting with my grandfather. I'm assuming that means you're a little rusty, so let's help each other."

Kon

Having his fill gulping down the remaining crimson in his goblet, Kon gently placed down the vessel upon a nearby table moving away from his bronzed disciple. Upon his return, Kon was affronted by their naked figure drinking upon the servant whom he had just bled. In the time between the two breaking sight, Khalfani offered not just his guidance but also his hospitality. Kon was not unaccustomed to the human body, however, held a far more conservative approach to being openly naked, maintaining a deadset gaze now at the man’s face rather than lingering over their unusually marked body. He was quite surprised to see them drinking from the same servant, Kon had been quite aggressive with his bloodletting. It was in mere moments that Khalfani drew the remaining excess leaving Shakir a ghostly white. Clear that he was truly drained, the man dismissed him, would they survive in such a state Kon didn’t know, but from the grin they had, it didn’t seem to matter to them.

Following this lengthy break, Khalfani revealed that the Pharoah themselves had requested his help in guiding the man to control his magical abilities. A peculiar request is given Kon’s own issues with magic, certainly, he could help the vampire but it would be limited to just directly and teaching. Rubbing his chin with his right hand sapping the heat from his skin to the prosthetic, Kon considered the offer. He was still bonded to serve the Pharoah albeit not for long. Perhaps this was their final task for him to help his grandson control his magic. Looking at the man before him, he could already see the struggle within his body, he was surprised magic wasn’t just pouring out of his body or that he hadn’t just exploded from the chaos brewing inside him. It was clear to anyone with knowledge in the ancient arts and the ability to sense the magic within Khalfani that he did really need help from Kon.

It had been clear from the very first day they had met but his magical defect had just been worsening. Narrowing his right eye, Kon looked at Khalfani with a piercing gaze, “you are in serious need of magical intervention I can help you in the interim but I’d recommend you seek help, perhaps draw out some of the underlying magic or find a way to harness it.” Finally breaking his view upon the man, Kon looked upon his bow hand still grasping the weapon tightly. Magic still irradiated the man turned woman even after they had lost the ability to use it. Drawing up his golden hand, Kon rubbed his nose to conceal his anger. “Things, as you know, are a bit more complicated, my friend, being out of practice isn’t what’s stopping me, there is something, something else.” Pulling away from the prosthetic limb in a flurry from his face. “For now, I resign to using this fantastic bow and the equipment on my back, well…equipment that can be on my back at a moment’s notice.” Finally drawing a glance upon Khalfani properly, Kon was hesitant to spar with the man, after all, he felt like the man was a bomb waiting to go off. “What do you propose, Prince-Brother?” Speaking as he headed into the room inside.

Khalfani †

The formidable mage before him flexed his magical capabilities without even trying. The bow, the eye, the arm, all of his items were extremely strong. Khalfani winced at the thought of being beaten to a pulp. Still, the prince was extremely excited. Grandfather couldn't have chosen a better person to help him control his abilities. Kon was a master, with all due respect and for what it's worth, Khalfani also respected him. In the end though, his true goals remained a mystery. It's what drew Khalfani to Konyo. He seemed to be a rebel at heart, but perhaps he was actually just selfish. Despite the rumors of him and his father having beef, Khalfani understood his own complicated position. Sometimes he even questioned whether or not Odin was the right man to have pledged loyalty to. That was the strength of love, I suppose. It made you see things about people from a biased perspective. Still, he knew that Odin wasn't a bad man. The Lich would always have Khalfani to defend him. It was because the Vampire had nothing to lose that he was so willing to throw his body on the line for the guild master of Eternal Nightmare.

In the end, Konyo had agreed to fighting Khalfani. Their training beforehand would pale in comparison to an actual fight. Kon was merciless, that much was revealed on the battlefield. The archer moved towards another room and Khalfani followed, still naked as water dripped off of his body until one of the servants came to cover him with a silk white robe. Everyone tended to his every need here, it was quite annoying. The two of them would eventually fight, but of course, Khal being completely overwhelmed and being beaten far too easily.

Yet, this was only the beginning. Next time, he wouldn't lose so easily.
