Yuurei

Yuurei hadn’t heard from Weirdlock in a while, and he had been in Hosenka for a good time. Still, thinking about all the things that had happened since he started working for the investigator, nothing added up. He had bumped into the man with the tattoo, which depicted that he wasn’t a part of the Black Dragons. He had made that clear to Weirdlock and from there he didn’t get any information or even a callback. Of course, thinking about it today would jinx things as he was in a tavern enjoying his time. A letter would come to him, and he would open it and he would see that it was from the man himself. He read through it and when he finished, he would get up from his seat.

“Okay Renji it's time to go meet Weirdlock. I think we will finally figure out who did all the killing.” He said to the Exceed.

Renji would jump off the counter and he would land on Yuurei’s shoulder.

Yuurei

Yuurei would walk through the streets of the Crimson Quarters. A lot of people looked at him as they kind of knew who he was now. That was fine because he was going to make sure that these guys were off the streets to conceal his identity as a Blue Pegasus. He was heading over to the investigator’s office as he wasn’t being bothered on his journey. Still, while he was on his travel there, the light mage’s eyes would open up wide and he would go into a corner. The man he had beaten up was out and about, he had seen Yomu. It looked like he was walking around with his goons without a care in the world.

“Why are you hiding Yuu? You beat him before, I think you could handle him again.” He said to Yuurei.

“I would like to avoid an unnecessary fight right now. I don’t know what’s going to happen when we go see Weirdlock. So best to be in our best shape.” He said to his friend.

Yuurei

Yuurei would watch as Yomu would walk by the duo as they were not seen by the Black Dragons. The man would just laugh and talk his shit as he kept moving with the group of men, he surrounded himself with. He would just stay there a while as he would allow them to gain distance before walking out to the streets again. After a few minutes of waiting, Yuurei would get back to walking towards Weirdlock’s office.

“Who do you think has been killing these people?” He would ask.

“I think it’s the bad guys that we have been fighting this whole time. What about you?” He asked Yuurei.

“I have a gut feeling it’s someone we trust.” He said to Renji.

It wouldn’t take long, but the two of them would find themselves in front of Weirdlock’s office. Yuurei would look at the office as he stared at it for a few seconds. He would sigh with disappointment, and he hoped that his suspicion was incorrect.

Yuurei would calm his nerves and soon enough he would enter the office. He would look around and he would see that Weirdlock was looking at the wall of evidence. The investigator knew who had entered his office, but he didn’t look over at the man. The light mage wondered what was going on with him. He had greeted him every time he had shown up, but not today. The light mage would walk over to Weirdlock and when he got to him, he would stand a few feet away from him. He figured he would voice his opinion once again to him.

“Weirdlock I think you’re looking at this all wrong. The Black Dragons are not behind the killings. I think it’s someone else, someone that knows what we’re doing ahead of us doing it. Have you been giving out information to others? Or who has been giving you information?” He asked Weirdlock waiting to see what he would say or do.

Yuurei

Weirdlook would nod hearing Yuurei’s words as he continued to look at the board he was in front of. He really couldn’t believe that this young man was smart enough to realize that the true suspect was close to him and pretended to be on his side. Still, he hoped that the light mage would understand.

“Yes, I agree with you Yuurei. The murderer is not from the Black Dragon, and I’m pretty sure they aren’t in the White Star either.” He said to Yuurei.

Yuurei nodded as he was wondering who it could be then, and he would look over to the board.

“Who do you think it truly is then?” He asked Weirdlock as he would turn to look at the board the investigator was looking at.

He would look over it and soon enough his eyes spread open again as he noticed that there was some incorrect information. He would take a step to the side and away from Weirdlock this was wrong, and he had to be kidding right?

Yuurei

Weirdlock would notice that Yuurei had seen the board clearly now and he would have a smile on his face. Yuurei would see this, and he would see if Weirdlock would confess and tell him the truth.

“Weirdlock your board is wrong. Yomu isn’t dead at all. I just saw him walking the streets with his goons. What’s going on here? Are you planning something I don’t know about or can you see into the future?” He asked him waiting for an answer.

It was at this time, Weirdlock would turn to look at Yuurei for the first time since he had entered the office. It was then that Yuurei would see the Ouroboros tattoo on the investigator's right pectoral muscle. The light mage was right on who to suspect and he couldn’t believe he was right. He would be on guard because he wasn’t sure what was going to happen now. Weirdlock would start clapping as he had to reward Yuurei for finding out who was the real murderer.

He would stop clapping as he kept his eyes on Yuurei. He knew that this guy had beaten Yomu before, so from those actions he knew that he was strong and someone he wouldn’t underestimate.

“I see you saw the tattoo Yuurei. I congratulate you for figuring it all out. I’m sure you thought it was me from the last time we spoke. I applaud you on your quick wits, but it’s why I told you to come to my office. I will explain my reasoning and whether or not you agree with me, will determine whether one of us leaves here alive, or if we work together and get rid of the true criminals of Hosenka.” He paused for a second as he was getting ready to explain everything.

Yuurei would really be on guard now as he was getting ready to fight this guy if made any type of movement towards him. Still, it wouldn’t be too long, but Weirdlock would talk once again.

“So while I was starting off as becoming an amazing investigator, I started to realized that no matter what I did to put the criminals away, they would still find a way to be released from behind bars and continue doing what they were doing before. I was trying to pin the murders on both gangs, so that way I can kill off both of them and finally clear Hosenka from the evil that flood its gates. I was hoping you wouldn’t realize this, and continue to help me, but that isn’t the case is it Yuurei? Would you help me finish this and kill Yomu and the remaining Black Dragons and White Stars?” He asked wondering what Yuurei would say.

Yuurei would hear all of this, and he couldn’t believe that he was truly behind all of this. There were a lot of people who had died because of him. Yes, they were bad, and he understood where he was coming from, but this wasn’t just the best way to go about it. He wasn’t going to go around killing people unless they threatened his life in any way.

“I understand where you’re coming from Weirdlock, but I cannot agree with your methods. I asked that you please turn yourself in for everything that you’ve done. I will find a way to get rid of the Black Dragons.” He said to the man.

Weirdlock would hear Yuurei’s words, and it was then that he would disappear from where he stood. He would appear on Yuurei’s left as cheery blossom would move around the area as he would try to get a direct blow with his dagger. The light mage’s eyes widen when he saw the disappearance of Weirdlock and had to get ready for the fight.

“Renji!” He shouted as the Exceed would open his bag, and the gauntlet would appear on Yuurei’s right hand.

The light mage would barely dodge the attack as he felt him nip him on his neck as he would stumble away from Weirdlock.

“I see no wondered you were able to beat up Yomu last time, but that isn’t enough.” He said as he would disappear again and would try to cut Yuurei again. This time the light mage would clash his right gauntlet with the dagger before Weirdlock would land a kick into the half-elf’s chest and push him away.

Yuurei

Yuurei would finally have the chance to do something as he would open both his hands and his magical stars would appear after the magic circles appeared in front of him. Weirdlock never watched Yuurei fight before, so he didn’t know what he was doing, so he would defend against the attack. Of course, he would see that the stars had entered the man instead of being sent to him for an attack. The investigator would disappear again as he would end up behind Yuurei this time. He was getting ready to stab Yuurei in the neck and call it a day.

Renji had his back, and he would be ready to tell Yuurei the moment Weirdlock appeared.

“Behind you Yuu.” He shouted quickly.

Yuurei would crouch to avoid the stab, and it would bring Weirdlock to lose balance as he would trip over Yuurei’s body. The light mage lifted his own body up and he would bring the man to fall over onto his back as he would hit the ground. Weirdlock would get up from the ground as Yuurei was ready to continue the fight. He would run straight towards the investigator, and he would swing his left hand but used it as a feint attack as the right jab would come to him.

Weirdlock would see the first attack and when he dodged the attack, he didn’t notice the second punch coming to him. He would feel the attack and he would be launched straight into the wall in his office. He would fall to the ground, and he would get up slowly as he would cough out blood before wiping his mouth clean. He had a devious smirk on his face as he was getting up to continue the fight.

“You’re a tough one, but I’m sorry that it has to end this way.” He said as he would start moving side to side.

The light mage would see that he was moving quickly, and a bunch of duplicates would appear in front of his eyes. This was going to be, so he decided that it was best to use the power of his gauntlet to increase his physical prowess.

“You could have done this differently. I’m pretty sure that you would have gotten the result you wanted, but it would have taken longer is all.” He said to Weirdlock.

Yuurei watched as he poured mana into his gauntlet, and in return, the weapon would glow before pouring its ability to strengthen Yuurei’s strength and speed. Weirdlock was ready to unleash his attack, and at the same time the light mage would start moving around as he was gathering his speed, so he wouldn’t be caught by surprise. When it was all ready, the duplicates that were around the light mage would start moving straight towards the half-elf. They all started attacking Yuurei and he would find himself doing his best to dodge them all as he couldn’t believe that this man could do such a technique. The light mage would be hit a few times as he would stumble a bit, but when the final Weirdlock appear, Yuurei had a smirk on his face.

This was what he was waiting for and he would launch a straight uppercut into the chin of his opponent. The investigator’s eyes widen, and they would roll back to his head as he would be sent flying to the ceiling of his office. The impact would be loud, and he would find himself falling to the ground as he was defeated by Yuurei. The light mage would sigh with relief as he had taken this man out and now, he was going to have to turn him into the city guards.

Yuurei

Yuurei would relax as his magic would disperse as he didn’t need it right now. He would walk over to Weirdlock and he would shake his head because he could have done true good for the community. It wouldn’t take long, but the city guards would break into Weirdlock’s office. They had heard the loud commotion going inside of here, and they gathered up to see that Yuurei was standing tall, and their famous detective was on the floor.

“What are you doing to Weirdlock?! Raise your hand and don’t do anything weird.” They said to Yuurei.

Yuurei shook his head and laughed as this was embarrassing.

“Look at the board on the wall. Weirdlock was planning on killing Yomu and putting everything on the gang. You see that Ouroboros symbol on the wall, it’s the tattoo that is on Weirdlock’s pectoral muscle. He was the murderer behind the gangs and he tried to take me out because I knew all of this.” He explained to the guards as he had his hands in the air to show he meant no harm.

They heard Yuurei’s words, and they would investigate the office, and checked the board. It seemed like Yomu was supposed to be dead right now, but they all saw him not too long ago, so that wasn’t true. It seemed like Weirdlock was planning to kill him and pin this on the leader of the White Star’s boss. They couldn’t believe that the famous Weirdlock had gone this low to put criminals away. The city guards would shake their heads as they would let Yuurei know he was fine, and he could put his hands down. They would go to the detective and would handcuff him even though he was unconscious. When they took him away one of the city guards would go to Yuurei and would hand him the money for solving all of this.

Yuurei would take the jewels and he would enjoy how hefty the reward was for solving this case and putting it to an end. The light mage would leave Weirdlock’s office as he shook his head how people could just stoop this low. Still, he figured the duo would go get some food before he treated his wounds. He couldn’t let Kailani see what had happened to him.
