Name: Coalescence

Difficulty: Epic

Participants: Atani Tathvir

Story: In Talaz Lagaar, numerous rumors have spread regarding the power the Fractured Sky could bring. Atani, ready to sacrifice nearly anything, was prepared to enter it herself in an attempt to cleanse the curse that has plagued her family for generations. The powers granted, however, were more than she bargained for.

Objective: Complete the sacrifice to the Fractured Sky and survive the fusion with Yuan, the Goddess of Mercy.

Name: Chapter I

Rank: S-Rank

Type: Good

Participants: Atani Tathvir

Summary: While lending her skills as a healer to a clinic in Talaz Lagaar, a patient comes in claiming to having been afflicted by the Fractured Sky. Atani treats him and becomes intrigued by his story.

Objectives:
  • Arrive at the clinic in Talaz Lagaar to help treat patients
  • At some point during the shift, a man comes in with an injury he blames on the Fractured Sky; most nurses dismiss his claims, saying they get a lot of delusional patients these days
  • Treat the man and listen to his story


Name: Chapter II

Rank: S-Rank

Type: Good

Participants: Atani Tathvir

Summary: While Atani does not fully believe what the man said about the Fractured Sky, she is more intrigued than ever to see if this is what could break her family's curse once and for all. Before visiting, however, she must devise a plan.

Objectives:
  • Finish up the shift at the clinic and return home
  • The next day, search for more information about the Fractured Sky, first by talking with the local scientists
  • Continue the search at the library
  • Decide what sort of sacrifice should be made and what to 'ask' of the Fractured Sky


Name: Chapter III

Rank: A-Rank

Type: Good

Participants: Atani Tathvir

Summary: Since her sacrifice directly involves those of her bloodline, both alive and dead, Atani seeks guidance from her ancestors. However, it is somewhat difficult to do in a place like Talaz Lagaar where nature and spiritual magic are sparse.

Objectives:
  • The first attempt to speak with Atani's ancestors fails
  • She must search for items in Talaz Lagaar that brings her closer to spirits
  • Once finding these rare items, construct a shrine in a secluded place
  • Meditate at the shrine and converse with the ancestral spirits to get their advice


Name: Chapter IV

Rank: S-Rank

Type: Good

Participants: Atani Tathvir

Summary: Towards the end of her conversation with her ancestors, the link becomes corrupted by a spirit named Mórinna who tries to convince Atani not to go to the Fractured Sky.

Enemies:

Mórinna: Sometimes known as Ëala, Mórinna was unleashed upon the Tathvir family as a generational curse manifesting as a parasitic spirit, feeding off the power that resided within the blood of each descendant. As such, she cannot be directly injured without harming her host, Atani.

Objectives:
  • While speaking with the spirits, their voices suddenly go quiet and their surroundings grow dark
  • Mórinna emerges from the dark and uses her magic to hold Atani captive in the vision
  • Fend off Mórinna and break the hold she has


Name: Chapter V

Rank: A-Rank

Type: Good

Participants: Atani Tathvir

Summary: After breaking free, it becomes more pertinent than ever to make it to the Fractured Sky to break her family's curse once and for all. Atani makes the trip and offers her sacrifice.

Enemies:

Úthuli (20x): The úthuli are the once peaceful spirits of the dead that have been corrupted over generations. Now aligned with the dark, they serve any greater power's bidding. In this case, Mórinna's. Individually, they are weak, but they tend to gather in swarms.

Objectives:
  • Although Mórinna was defeated and lays dormant inside of Atani's mind, she was still able to reach out to other spirits and send them after Atani to stop her from reaching the Fractured Sky
  • Either sneak into the Fractured Sky, or fight through the spirits Mórinna sent
  • Upon reaching the Fractured Sky, a strange voice calls out, luring Atani into the void: a strange mindspace she enters upon being drawn too close to the Sky's centre.


Name: Chapter VI

Rank: A-Rank

Type: Good

Participants: Atani Tathvir

Summary: The strange voice that had been calling out to her from within the void is revealed to belong to none other than Yuan: The Goddess of Mercy. Drawn to Atani's power, she attempts to make contact with her.

Others:

Yuan: The Goddess of Mercy. Having been trapped in the void for centuries, she longs for a suitable host. Possessing healing powers herself, she has taken special interest in Atani.

Objectives:
  • The 'void' initially appears to be a dark, empty space
  • As 'the voice' grows louder, some light begins to appear in the void
  • Follow the light; it eventually leads to one point source: a small, glowing lotus pod in a pool of water
  • Upon touching the lotus, it blooms and Yuan emerges, thanking the traveller for 'freeing' her from her prison in the void
  • As a thank you, Yuan wishes to grant some of her power to Atani, but it would come at a cost
  • It increasingly becomes more obvious that Yuan's demands and desires are not all what they seem...


Name: Chapter VII

Rank: S-Rank

Type: Good

Participants: Atani Tathvir

Summary: Yuan's intentions were far more sinister than they initially appeared. She tries to forcefully take over Atani's body in its entirety in an attempt to escape the void.

Enemies:

Yuan: The Goddess of Mercy. Having been trapped in the void for centuries, she longs for a suitable host. Possessing healing powers herself, she has taken special interest in Atani.

Objectives:
  • It is revealed that Yuan did not want to share her power at all; instead, she wanted to steal Atani's
  • Yuan tries to take over Atani's body and soul by using a sort of sealing magic unique to the void
  • Fight back to avoid being taken over; the objective is to merely escape Yuan's hold
  • After breaking free, find a way to escape the void


Name: Chapter VIII

Rank: A-Rank

Type: Good

Participants: Atani Tathvir

Summary: By the skin of her teeth, Atani escapes the void, but not without dragging Yuan along. Without being able to draw from the power of the void, Yuan is left in a weakened state, but so is Atani.

Others:

Yuan: The Goddess of Mercy. Having been trapped in the void for centuries, she longs for a suitable host. Possessing healing powers herself, she has taken special interest in Atani.

Objectives:
  • After escaping the void, Atani finds herself unable to be in control of her own body
  • She thought she left Yuan behind in the void, but she can hear her voice in her head, and she can feel the goddess still trying to take possession of her body
  • Painful, physical changes begin to happen as Atani's physique morphs to become closer to that of Yuan's
  • She tries to escape the area around the Fractured Sky, thinking the further she gets from it, the weaker Yuan's hold will be


Name: Chapter IX

Rank: S-Rank

Type: Good

Participants: Atani Tathvir

Summary: After escaping the area surrounding the Fractured Sky, Atani is rescued by an elf named Elioriel. Between the two, they believe they can help subdue the detriments caused by Yuan.

Others:

Elioriel: A Wood Elf belonging to a tribe in Bosco, she travelled to Talaz Lagaar to lend her healing abilities in a time of need. Her unique spiritual connections, however, led her to become involved in Atani's plight with Mórinna and Yuan.

Yuan: The Goddess of Mercy. Having been trapped in the void for centuries, she longs for a suitable host. Possessing healing powers herself, she has taken special interest in Atani.

Objectives:
  • No matter how far Atani goes, Yuan doesn't stop
  • Overwhelmed, exhausted, and in great amounts of pain, Atani collapses somewhere in Talaz Lagaar
  • She is rescued by an elf named Elioriel and eventually awakes in an unknown location
  • Elioriel's magic stabilizes the transformation, but Atani and Yuan are still at odds with one another
  • With further help from Elioriel, both are able to be put in a trance
  • Enter the trance and try to reach some reconciliation with Yuan, who is now pacified

Summary: With the help of Elioriel, Yuan is able to be subdued and the two are able to converse. They must discuss the threat that is Mórinna and deal with her.

Others:

Elioriel: A Wood Elf belonging to a tribe in Bosco, she travelled to Talaz Lagaar to lend her healing abilities in a time of need. Her unique spiritual connections, however, led her to become involved in Atani's plight with Mórinna and Yuan.

Yuan: The Goddess of Mercy. Having been trapped in the void for centuries, she longs for a suitable host. Possessing healing powers herself, she has taken special interest in Atani.

Enemies:

Mórinna: Sometimes known as Ëala, Mórinna was unleashed upon the Tathvir family as a generational curse manifesting as a parasitic spirit, feeding off the power that resided within the blood of each descendant. As such, she cannot be directly injured without harming her host, Atani.

Objectives:
  • Yuan, who has been trapped for centuries and is now nearly free, does not have much room for negotiation
  • The threat of Mórinna is something that can sway her to come closer to Atani's side, especially considering the conflicting natures of the two entity's alignments and position within Atani herself
  • They agree to set aside their differences for the moment and work to suppress Mórinna
  • Elioriel casts a spell to facilitate a meeting between the three of them
  • Once Mórinna appears, work with Yuan to defeat her


Name: Chapter XI

Rank: A-Rank

Type: Good

Participants: Atani Tathvir

Summary: Having dealt with Mórinna, Atani and Yuan now must find how to work together. Neither are happy about their situation, but they will be stuck together for the foreseeable future.

Others:

Yuan: The Goddess of Mercy. Having been trapped in the void for centuries, she longs for a suitable host. Possessing healing powers herself, she has taken special interest in Atani.

Objectives:
  • Mórinna is not gone, but she is locked away
  • Though she doesn't like it, Yuan is willing to accept she may be able to work with Atani so long as she gets to take the reigns every once in a while
  • Train with Yuan, learning how this unstable form of Take-Over magic works and how her body can shift from one form to another



Name: Chapter XII

Rank: A-Rank

Type: Good

Participants: Atani Tathvir

Summary: Something strange happens at the conclusion of the training session with Yuan. It involves a mysterious symbol with strange power, which Atani wishes to control.

Others:

Elioriel: A Wood Elf belonging to a tribe in Bosco, she travelled to Talaz Lagaar to lend her healing abilities in a time of need. Her unique spiritual connections, however, led her to become involved in Atani's plight with Mórinna and Yuan.

Yuan: The Goddess of Mercy. Having been trapped in the void for centuries, she longs for a suitable host. Possessing healing powers herself, she has taken special interest in Atani.

Rewards: Mythic custom

Objectives:
  • A strange mark appears on Atani's skin, which glows whenever she tries to use her magic
  • Yuan has seen variations of it, but not this one in particular
  • Seek out Elioriel's help once more and learn to harness the mark's power
