Yuurei

Yuurei was on his way back to where he had started his journey. He was hoping things would go the way he wanted. There were a lot of things that he had learned from the two years of traveling. Their fight with the one who killed his parents was rumored to be in the South region of Fiore. Yuurei was looking forward to it; he was traveling with Kailani and Nimbus, being the first time, he traveled with someone other than Renji.

They had gotten into a carriage this time, which was also a first, but it also meant that Yuurei would be able to get to rest easily or so he thought. The ride was smooth as it was owned by a merchant who agree to take them on their travel. He would lean back on the seat in the back as he hoped nothing would go wrong.

"This is your first time traveling with me anywhere that isn't on the Christina Kai?" He asked her as he wondered how she was feeling.

Kailani was happy to be escorted back to Hargeon by her bestie. It had been a long time since the two of them had been home together. Well, at least she considered the Blue Pegasus guild her home now after living there for so long.

The wind mage had often traveled to and from places by carriage while working on jobs and the like, however, for some inexplicable reason, she wasn't feeling too great this time around. Her head was spinning, and her stomach churning as nausea set in. She had never experienced motion sickness before, her elven body was used to being jolted around by her magic. Yet here she was, feeling like she was going to throw up any second only a few seconds into their ride.

"N...not great..." She responded truthfully, figuring it was best to be honest with him, rather than putting on a brave face.

Nimbus would look a little concerned as her face grew pale. It was vaguely reminiscent of how she had reacted back when all her magic was drawn out of her and he started looking a little panicked.

Yuurei would look over to Kailani when she answered his question. The way she sounded was horrible and when he looked at her it seemed like she was ready to throw up. It wasn’t just that, but she looked like she ate something disgusting, and it wasn’t sitting right with her. His eyes widen when he saw this, but his reaction was priceless. Instead, of going towards he moved back because he didn’t want to be the target of her vomiting projectile attack.

“Are you okay Kai? Did you eat something bad before we left? I’m pretty sure it wasn’t my food. Nimbus why does she look like that? What did you do?” He asked all of this worry about his best friend.

Renji saw all of this and he would only shake his head because their ride wouldn’t be as smooth as he thought it was going to be.

"I-I don't...*retch* ...know..." Her head spun, feeling like she might just pass out. Despite the churning of her stomach and the sensation of bile creeping up her throat, she didn't vomit, instead, she continued to remain in that perpetual state of feeling like any second now could be the one.

"I didn't do anything!" Nimbus flailed his arms, he'd seen her sick a few times when she'd caught a cold, or ate the occasional sushi that had gone bad. However, it had never occurred quite so suddenly. The feline rummaged through his bag, eventually pulling out a paper bag that smelt faintly of fried fish and chips. Offering it to the dragon slayer who would take it without fuss, preparing to aim inside the bag if worst came to worst.

"How long's this trip again?" The exceed would ask, turning to the light mage for answers. Hopefully, it wouldn't take them too long to get back to Hargeon.

Yuurei would look at her as she didn’t know what was going on. It didn’t seem like the Exceed didn’t know either. He would grab his hair as he was trying to figure out what it could have been. While thinking about it, he would look over to Nimbus who asked how long this trip was going to be, and Yuurei chuckled when he heard those words.

“It should take us an hour at least for us to arrive, so she would have to hold on for an hour, or I can get us out of here and carry her and get her somewhere faster?” He asked the last part as a suggestion with what she wanted to do.”[/color] Still, he got closer after he had enough time to situate the situation.

Yuurei would move towards her, and he would be next to her as he would rub her back as he hoped that would make her feel a little bit better. Renji hopped off Yuurei’s shoulder and went away from Kailani because she wasn’t throwing up on his fur no way no how.

Nimbus scratched his chin in thought, an hour was quite a time, but if she was actually sick and needed a hospital surely the carriage would be faster than going on foot. Yuurei was exceptionally fast if he used his magic, but he'd have to carry all of them, Kailani, as well as the two exceeds, and it was a long way there was the possibility of running out of magical power as well. There were too many variables.

"Might be best to just ride it out, we can take her to the hospital when we arrive," Nimbus announced, "Hopefully, it has nothing to do with her magic being weird again..." He murmured a little concerned considering the last time she was rushed off to a hospital she had completely lost all the mana inside her body. He'd frown, watching her carefully as she continued to retch only for nothing but air to come out of her throat.

Yuurei would continue to rub her back as he was hoping that she would feel a bit better with that. He didn’t know what the source of it was all, but he hoped that once they got out of the merchant’s carriage, they could figure it out. The ride was smooth though as they didn’t have a problem with getting to their destination. The merchant had promised to take them to South Fiore, but never mention taking them to a town. When the light mage felt the carriage stop, he knew what it meant. He would get out of the carriage to see if they were here, and from how the lands were, he knew that they were in the Southern region.

Renji would come out of the cart as well as he would climb onto Yuurei’s shoulder. They would look inside of the carriage, and he would hope that she was fine. He didn’t need her feeling this way before he left to fight the Vampire Lord. Still, he would leave her behind because he didn’t want her to die in battle because she didn’t feel well.

“We shall go to a hospital in a town nearby if you still feel sick when we head to Myras.” He said to her.

Kailani would nod in acknowledgment of his words, unable to find the will to respond in words. As the ride continued, Kailani's state didn't seem to grow any worse at the very least, but it certainly was not getting any better. Her face remained pale, her head spinning, and the feeling like she was going to vomit, yet never actually doing so remained the entire journey.

Upon the carriage finally stopping, she'd step out hesitantly, her legs a little wobbly. However, as her feet hit the pavement, all the sickness she'd been feeling throughout the entire length of the journey suddenly seemed to vanish. The colour in her cheeks quickly returned, her head and stomach no longer giving her any issues either.

"Huh..." Kailani muttered, "I feel much better now..." She frowned a little confused. she had been preparing to go to the hospital as Nimbus had suggested and yet, now she was perfectly fine? Weird. "Well, I guess we can skip the hospital..." She'd nod to Yuurei, ready to follow him. Nimbus would look her over, Kailani certainly seemed to be telling the truth. Was it something wrong with the carriage then? He wondered, completely confused.

Yuurei would look at Kailani and when he saw her, he would see that she was perfectly fine now. He blinked a few times as he was trying to figure out how the fuck, she got better out of nowhere. He would scratch the back of his head and he would hear her words. It seemed like there was something wrong with the carriage that had gotten her sick.

“Okay I guess we skip the hospital, but how did you get better out of nowhere? Is it the carriage that made you sick?” He asked her, but shook his head because he figured he could get the answer while they travel.

The light mage would start walking as they were going to head to their next destination. Renji looked at the woman and found her strange right now. She lost her magic, got a stronger one in exchange, and now she was out here getting sick out of nowhere.
