At that moment, Alisa finally felt the tentacles' pressure easing away and then fading entirely, realizing her lover had heeded her advice. She couldn't help but smile; even if at that moment there was little advantage she could derive from it. Caught mid lunge as such, no sudden increase in strength or speed would work to her immediate benefit, and watching every step of improvement on Sofia's part inspired her further:

"It really isn't.", nodded the sculptress, thinking back to her myriad battles and the cunning, opportunistic style she'd developed, observing her foes while testing their defenses with her spells, looking out for that one moment, that one weak spot she could exploit to take home the victory. Alas, even when exploiting weaknesses, she always made it a point to tread carefully... No, especially when taking advantage of openings one should take extra care.

After all, prey is most dangerous as the hunt comes to a close, desperate as the hunter backs it against a corner. Alisa knew that all too well, and even under this controlled, sparring environment, she knew deep down it wouldn't really change:

"So... She still had this much power left...?!"

Gasping as her lover drew forth last reserves of power she yet had, Alisa barely had even an instant to respond, the moment that incantation gave way to a massive torrent of water, a veritable tsunami spouting underneath her. This close, she could see and even react, but she hadn't the luxury of any big movements... To her credit, she had enough instincts from a time when her magic saved her from many a pinch, and thus simply needed to clench the outstretched fist, utterinh a single word as her own aura flared:

"Vajradehā"

Diamond body. The immovable object...

She could feel the water as it reached her hand and envelloped her arm, all but trembling at the sheer power behind the blow. She grunted as it hit her, the air knocked out of her lungs, yet before the torrent swallowed her whole, Alisa's own magic power surged outwards. Despite the colossal amount of mana, the thickness of an aura strong enough to power a much stronger spell, the actual effect left much to be desired... In the end, her spell wasn't much stronger than Sofia's, but still more than enough for a crackling sound to fill the air, a crystallizing wave to radiate throughout her whole spell, turning the swirling water spout into a glimmering, spiralling diamond cone.

...A beautiful piece of artwork, the kind of radiance only Alisa and Sofia combined could truly bring out, and yet one that could easily pose a danger to Sofia if it were to collapse on top of her. Thankfully, it quickly shattered into a shimmering cloud of diamond dust, almost as quickly as it appeared the two spells cancelled each other out in a radiant light show, the kind of beauty to make the sculptress' eyes go wide, all but knocking the fighting spirit right out of her.

"My~... Such beauty~...", was all the artist could say as she fell down, all but sighing as either Sofia's spell or her mesmerizing beauty completely defeated what remained of her armor, letting the sculptress fall down what little she'd gone up right back down onto her hapless lover, tacking the skittish mermaid, grunting and groaning as she found herself painfully rolling on the ground, "Ugh~... So much for a smooth landing."

She'd held on to Sofia the whole way, holding tightly, not letting go as if the victory she found so hard for might suddenly slip through the cracks between her fingers. That didn't stop her pulling her lover's head close to her, into that welcomingly soft, if slightly sweaty valley of her cleavage, as if to shield her from the tumbles they went through before finally coming to a halt, landing atop her stunning lover, panting and triumphant, with a vivid shade of red coloring her cheeks:

"Well, look at that~... I caught you~", teased the sculptress, giggling playfully as she tucked her silky, dripping hair behind her ear, gazing lovingly into Sofia's beautiful blue eyes. Resting breast to breast against the girl as such, she'd likely wonder whether their exertion had anything to do with it in the face of the heart racing thrill that was beautiful vixen. Leaning in slowly, she claimed her victory with a slow, almost chaste kiss, a tender little peck as her hand stroked the girl's cheek, teasing her the whole way, "Seems like I won the first round... I'll take you on for a rematch anytime you'd like~"

Even with the very air around them beaming in every direction, under the prismatic effects of  diamonds and droplets in turn, Alisa only had eyes for Sofia, her warmth, her scent, her tenderness... The one who always found a way to draw out the best in her~

What the…? Expecting that maybe through some means the magnificent minx might be able to use her magic to somehow avoid or defend against the technique she used but what Alisa did leaving Miss Serena rather stunned, the eyes of the cyan siren grew wide as she watched her attack seem to solidify, feeling her mana growing stiffer and stiffer until it stopped entirely. A rather spectacular move really that in ordinary circumstances the mermaid might have spent quite a while marvelling over, unfortunately given the situation she had little chance.

“L-Leviathan Scale!” Set upon by a sudden sense of panic as she found a mass of crystal the size of a boulder hanging above her body, even though she had put practically everything she had into the attack that she had just unleashed, Sofia thrust her hands upward in an effort to defend herself from the crushing threat that loomed over her. Whatever she had left seeming just enough to spread a surface of stone hard water over her slender shape, as ripples in the liquid formed shapes like the scales of fish the foreign fox gritted her teeth and hoped the toughness would be enough to protect her from the harm that might befall her, hoping that she didn’t end up a pancake beneath that large and heavy mass that bore down upon the barrier that strained to defend her.

“Ugggghhhh!” Groaning as she pushed her hands up with everything that she had left, the pulse of the princess pounded in that brief space of seconds in which she was threatened by pulverization, time seeming to slow down as the weight bore down on her and quite honestly filled her with terror. “Uwooooooo!” No small amount of relief exploding outward from Miss Serena when the object above her shattered and finally stopped pressing down on her, as she let out a rather loud gasp as the sense of respite set in the shield of the siren broke with the object above her, leaving the girl a panting mess on the floor and easy prey for the woman above her.

Stunned into silence by what had occurred and rather unresponsive as she found her foe on top of her, stealing away a kiss from her, all that Sofia could do was stare upward in bewilderment as the words of the White Empress rattled around her brain, feeling something hard and hot building up within her.
She just… Nearly killed me, and the first thing she can think of is winning?! ‘Losing’ in the battle but more astonished by the fashion in which Miss Vollan had achieved her victory, having just survived what to her mind was a near-death experience any notion of contest or coquetry were entirely absent from her mind. Instead the casual fashion in which she was treated after nearly being flattened by the attack she had received simply seeming to stoke her rage, the brow of the blue beauty knotted tightly as she found herself stricken by anger and no small degree of fear either, trembling because of both but finding the strength to wrench herself from beneath the woman who seemed to think so little of nearly turning her into a pancake.

“What the hell… What the hell were you thinking?!” Perhaps an apology or a hint of worry in the words of the White Empress maybe proving enough to allay some of the anger that Miss Serena felt but there seeming to be not a hint of it, while she had accepted that in this one on one situation that they had come to for this training session there might be a risk of injury, what had just occurred totally blew the beauty out of the proverbial water. Perhaps some of her response coming from the continuing sense of panic she had felt when all of a sudden she had been looking up at something that for all intents and purposes seemed a deadly weapon, despite the fatigue that the fox felt she rolled over and pushed her limbs underneath her, ignoring the way that they throbbed as she marched wearily but wrathfully away from the woman who she now found rather frightening.

“You could have killed me!” Certainly not happy as she stomped across the woody area in which the mock battle had ended, subconsciously wanting to create a sense of distance between herself and the dark woman with whom she was suddenly feeling a strong sense of rage toward, the underwhelming response to what had occurred that Miss Vollan showed was reflected and reversed in how the nymph took to the act. Breathing hard and not just because of how breathless their battle had made her, the usually gentle eyes of Sofia bulged as she looked toward her training partner, absolutely furious at her for being so reckless when they had been training and even angrier that she had seemed totally unconcerned with her wellbeing after it.

“But hey, you won the match, so that’s all that matters, right?” The hands of Miss Serena balling up into rage fuelled knots as she glared at the woman who had brought her here, she couldn’t help but feel rather disappointed in what had occurred, and not just because of how the contest between them that had seemed so exciting was suddenly spoiled. Placing her faith in the feisty female she had faced that she would keep her safe, ever since she had met the empress she had found that she had an almost immediate sense of trust in the woman, but now she felt like a fool for doing so…

Instead of collapsing right atop her lover, Alisa noted with some satisfaction that she had managed to erect a swift defense with what remained of her power, and yet that furious fashion with which the girl wrenched herself from her grasp caught her off guard. Standing back up, she wondered if the girl might have actually been hurt, something she might have miscalculated... And indeed she had, but not in the way she imagined. Slowly but steadily, with every bitter word from her lips, Alisa eventually realized what was going through her lover's mind, what kind of ill concieved idea fueled her sudden outburst... Her first reaction...? Shock. She could hardly process how she could suddenly assume such a dreadful notion, her plush lips parting as she all but reached out for her:

"Sofia, I...", but then she continued, and Alisa held her peace, curling her lip, eyes narrowing as very soon that shock gave way the kind of aching she was certainly not used to, watching someone she trusted, loved even, so readily assuming she'd put her life at risk for the sake of a petty game. For anything really... And thus, she pulled her hand back, balling her fists as her brow twitched.

It was almost insulting, that she'd think Alisa would use a spell not knowing what it could do, and with any real danger of collapsing such a colossal structure atop a defenseless sparring partner, that she of all people wouldn't fully understand what her magic could do at its worst. Overreacting this much spoke for itself and painted a clear picture of just how far apart they truly were:

"Who do you think I am?", her tone calm and blunt, significantly colder than the kind of warmth she'd grown used to showing Sofia. Crossing her arms as the woman peeled away, she held her gaze throughout, her brow furrowing, visibly stung that the girl she loved would assume her so callous, "Do you really think that spell shattered by dumb luck?"

Perhaps ordinarily she might have shrugged it off... But the fact that Sofia of all people could react this way, expect her to do something so careless, hurt more than she'd ever admit. It really spoke volumes of how much the girl actually trusted her, which was apparently very little. She felt no need to show concern for she never really saw a scenario where Sofia may have been hurt by their little adventure, and at times like these her aloof, prideful nature stood out like a sore thumb. Who knows, maybe at any other time she might have managed to place herself in the girl's shoes, understanding her own lack of knowledge of Alisa's magic could have easily frightened her. In the end, maybe a tiny sliver of that notion yet held firm, or her feelings for Sofia mellowed some of that sting of betrayal, for her arms eventually loosened from under her supple bosom, an exhasperated hand reaching for her forehead

"Look, I wasn't going to crush you or anything...", she finally sighed and shook her head, looking back into Sofia's eyes with a disillusioned hint peering through her annoyance, "And if I knew you were worried about that happening, I'd have never asked you to come here."

In the end, she was better off training by herself, just as she'd confirmed many years ago. She wouldn't let other people in easily, and could count with her fingers the number of recurring partners she had throughout her adult life. Sofia, it appeared, was sadly no exception to this rule...

The eyes of the blue beauty bulging slightly, she saw the response of her lover and a hint of shame that she perceived in it and began to feel a little bit guilty for lashing out in the way she had. Panicked by what had occurred, feeling suddenly so trapped and that never a sensation that Miss Serena dealt well with, the moments that Alisa spent looking bewildered and unsure of what to say made the heart of the foreign fox throb, and likely if they had continued she likely would have apologized. Unfortunately, the combination of the complications of these two coquettes’ would not allow for that.

What?! Feeling her cheeks glow with warmth born not from exertion but rather embarrassment as the White Empress snapped at her suddenly, if all that was needed was a little bit of time to cool off Sofia’s mind, some force of fate would not allow it. The tone of Miss Vollan as cool as ever but the bluntness in it making it seem fierce and full of frost, the Valerican Vixen blinked in surprise as the woman she faced barked at her with a sense of hostility that apparently they had common in the moment, provoking even more anger from the teen as she felt the need to defend herself because of this.

“S-So? What if something had gone wrong?!” Pride an odd thing really, especially when combined with the mind of a nineteen year old who was not quite as mature and used to dealing with people as her outgoing manner might have implied, as Alisa snarled in her own subtle fashion Miss Serena felt a swell of hotness sudden explode out from her anew. Offended by the bluntness in the words of the woman opposite her and the implication she felt within them that it was her own lack of ability which was responsible for the problem, these factors bred a new ‘contest’ within the mind of the mermaid, one to preserve her sense of esteem when she felt that she was under attack.

“We’re doing this because your magic is unstable then you throw an elephant sized brick of diamond at me?!” Far less cool in her approach than the empress and driven by immaturity, without even realizing it Sofia let herself be baited into a battle of wills, becoming quickly more interested in ‘winning’ the argument than she was in settling the matter, and likely seeming somewhat childish because of this. The issue far more complicated than she made it seem really, what had probably provoked the princess most was the simple lack of regard she had been shown, but in a way she felt that confessing this might have made her feel weak and needy. Given how strong and independent Alisa seemed, she probably would have laughed if the sapphire siren had confessed to a need to be comforted like that when she was scared, or at least that was how she felt in that moment, at least.

“W-Well, how many people get into a workout expecting a boulder being thrown at them?” Wounded by the way that she hadn’t been asked if she was OK and the stubborn desire of her lover to protest the fact that she had done anything wrong, as the attitude of Alisa seemed to soften a bit and she let out a sigh, Miss Serena couldn’t help but soften as well.
“I thought you’d… Nevermind.” Maintaining her complaint as she looked toward her lover with a slightly pleading expression, all she wanted in truth was for her beloved black beauty to say at least a little something like an apology and show a bit of concern for her, almost confessing that fact before she stopped herself. Feeling like a child for asking someone to put their arms around her and ask her if she was OK, perhaps the situation would have been solved if the women involved in it weren’t quite so stubborn, but unfortunately they were…

"It wouldn't.", a blunt reply, cold and to the point, without even the slightest hint of doubt. Sure, her confidence may be seen as reassuring but perhaps even Alisa herself knew at this point, Sofia was probably not looking for confidence, "Because I know what I'm doing."

Perhaps at that moment, that alone hurt her more than anything else, seeing how Alisa saw no need for concern over her ample self assuredness... Alas, she could not see it. No matter how keen or attentive she may be, Alisa had been blinded by her own bruised pride, the aching thought of seeing someone she opened up so intimately doubting her so quick and readily.

"You know it's unstable, and you also know what my magic does when it's unstable.", Alisa frowned, nodding back to all these times Sofia had indeed seen her magic fail. The way her magic shattered so easily, every single time, the very reason why she seldom dared using it in combat. And on the other hand, if she managed to control it enough for that not to happen, then surely she'd easily be able to cancel out her spells before any of that came to pass, "If my failed magic could so easily kill people, whatever makes you think i'd even dream of using it on you?"

Not like she'd ever admit it, but Alisa knew failure. She knew what it felt like for her magic to not work, to shatter into those glimmering clouds of crystal dust before accomplishing anything even remotely noteworthy. And if her failed spells could still kill people easily, well... Why would she insist on calling them failures?

"Mages like us?", noted the sculptress, brushing her hair behind her and shrugging, "I threw no more at you than you could defend from, everything else just... Crumbled away into dust."

With these words her eyes trailed off, palm turning upwards as the caught the last few glitters of diamond dust, the strinking, unmistakable proof of her own words. Eventually, both her and Sofia in turn mellowed out enough for the subject to die down, even if they'd arguably benefit more from talking it through in the long run, neither of them could let go of their respective pride:

"Though I'd...?", Alisa's brow rose at that moment, sensing perhaps a glimpse of what the girl might want, a little bit of something that disproved her newfound certainty.

Sofia never really trusted her to begin with. She couldn't really blame her for that now, could she? Alisa had lived her adult life not trusting, keeping others at arms length, seeing it as a weakness to be expunged or exploited, whichever came first. Blue Pegasus had steadily been changing that warped, aloof way of thinking. But while she had learned to trust her guildmates in battle, she seldom opened up to someone as personally as she had to Sofia... On some level she wanted to reach out and tell her how much she cared, but couldn't, and before they knew it, a rumbling made itself heard, all throughout the forest, the animals leaving their perches in a tree in a frezy, as Alisa's head turned towards the direction of the ruckus:

"What the...?!", bewildered by the sight before her, she gasped as behemoth of wood and metal pierced through the canopies, breezing startlingly close to her until even Alisa couldn't help take a step back, raising an arm in the way as if ready to leap out in the way and tackle Sofia away from danger too. Perhaps that in turn might have sent the message Sofia wished to see, the message Alisa didn't know she wanted, "A boat...?"

As the shape of the object finally grew clear enough, Alisa's brow raised, her hair whipping about with a powerful gust as it flew by, and as she looked up towards the deck, her eyes widening as she came face to face with a ghost with eyes of gold. Scratching her head as her brow quirked quizzically, she couldn't help but feel she might actually be seeing things.

She’s so arrogant… The knot in the brow of the blue beauty tightening at Alisa’s attempts to try and impart a sense of assurance, all the Miss Serena could see was the face of someone who couldn’t even take a moment to let go of her ego and see the danger in what she had done. That cool manner showing only confidence so that when the time came that concern became a necessity it was found sadly lacking, the sapphire siren couldn’t help but see this suddenly in in such a sour sense, which seemed especially ironic given the fact that the collected manner of the White Empress was something that had drawn her to the woman most originally.

Never guessing at the ‘holes’ in the confidence of the woman but that a hard task when she guarded herself so well, there was also no shortage of irony in the fact that the closer that Sofia wished to feel to the dark diva, the further she felt away from her. Their relationship progressing quickly, too quickly really, in times like this the sanguine lass couldn’t help but feel a strong sense of imbalance in their dynamic, like she had in the days before by the river.

Feeling as if all she did was give and leave herself vulnerable to Miss Vollan, because the woman opposite refused to open herself up it felt to the Valerican Vixen like she always had to reach toward her to make up for that fact, and there were times when that became tiresome. Especially for a person who feared becoming tied to another, right now, those feelings she had for her fellow femme felt like they were holding her down and hurting her.

“You don’t…” A notion rose in the mind of Miss Serena that she could never act upon, both women seemed to speak up at the same time after a period of slow silence, but before either of them could finish vocalizing their thoughts something suddenly occurred to steal away their attention. All too quickly a gust of wind cutting through both the woody clearing in which they had ended up and also their conversation, the long tresses of the teen began to dance around because of it as dust and other debris whipped up around her.

“A ship…?!” At first scoffing at the words of the woman opposite her with disbelief given how far inland she knew that they were, as Sofia spun around to see the source of the squall, she found herself stunned by the sight that she saw. Indeed the empress telling her the truth with what she spied, a sizeable structure that seemed to be made of timber loomed over the treeline with the brightness of canvas above it, it certainly did seem as if some sort of sailing vessel was cruising across the sky toward them.

“That’s… Amazing…!” The awe inspiring sight of such a bizarre but brilliant boat something that could even cleave the sense of tension that Miss Serena was feeling, the spirit of adventure which had been supressed within the siren began to break free at the sight, melting away the fierceness she was feeling for the time being at least. Used to seeing ships because of her island home but this the first time that the girl from Valerica had ever seen one that made a sea of the sky, it was an image that left her rather gobsmacked and even more impressed, and all that the teen could do was stare with a sense of excited disbelief as she wondered how it worked and if she might ever get a chance to ride such a thing…

No, clearly she wasn't hallucinating, even if both her and Sofia might think so... The same could be said of her unexpected sighting of the helmswoman, a girl with short lilac hair and amber eyes, glimmering like a dimly lit flame:

"That girl...", despite her bewilderment, Alisa could only snicker at the sight, the blast from the past, the faithful companion she'd longed to see all this time, holding her long, fluttering hair away from her face as the gust slowly died down, "Did she really... Where in the world did she find a flying ship?!"

So as the evidence flew past them and back up the canopies, the tall sculptress couldn't help but wonder if she really wasn't imagining things. How, why or when would the silent, barely literate Lumen have managed to get her hands on an obviously expensive piece of magical equipment. Her brow crooked, she scratched her temple in doubt, humming to herself and turning to Sofia for a brief moment, the prior tension temporarily loosened. Yet before she could utter another word, down came the vessel once more, back around sailing closer and closer to the them at a far less outlandish speed. Once it loomed close enough to cast a big, dark shadow over the two girl's, Alisa turned her head up, watching curiously as a rope ladder was dropped a scarce distance away from them:

"Aliiiiiii~~!!!", instead of actually using the ladder though, a youthful, cheery voice reached their ears, a familiar call Alisa knew all too well even if she'd never heard it before.

The Thrill of the Chase [Alisa/Training] - Page 2 ZMJrwoF

And with a faint, sweet smelling gust, a perky young woman had soon landed between the two lovers, clad in an oddly fitting sailor uniform, a breezy short sleeved shirt and skirt, hinting at her newfound role as the proud owner of an aerial ship.

"Lumen?! Since when can you talk?!", greeted Alisa, still bewildered by the unexpected arrival, eyes scanning down her companion's form. She'd grown taller since they'd last met, no longer a girl but a young woman with a curvaceus figure to match her beauty... She did expect the girl to grown and mature by herself as time went on. Holding her gaze as the girl giggled and tucked a lock behind her ear, Alisa could only smile and cup her cheek, "Oh my, that is... Quite the surprise~"

Instead of actually answering her though, Lumen suddely leapt into Alisa's arms as she had many times before, her arms wrapped tightly around the taller woman, squeezing her close as she all but melted in that soothing affection they'd always shared. Faced with the warmth of a much yearned for reunion, Alisa completely pushed aside all quarrels and conflicts with her beloved Sofia, baffled with the oddly graceful appearance, giggling delightedly as she responded at last:

"Hehee~ You see me and that's the first thing you ask~?", she replied, clinging tightly to her once companion, all but nuzzling her hair before finally peeling away with a radiant, ever impish smile, "I missed you, Ali~"

"Well, I can already see you've done quite well for yourself.", noted Alisa, quickly disarming the ever cheerful Lampent with a wink and loving headpets, gently stroking that silky lilac hair until she cooed softly, melting under that warmth and finally turning those youthful eyes of amber to the mermaid waiting expectantly next to her, "Sofia, meet Lumen. We were partners a few years back~"

Hearing this, Lumen cast a quick glance to the artist, all but pouting playfully, a cheeky little complaint the kind of which she'd never been able to vocalize before:

"Were? How mean of you, Ali~", giggled the cheery young woman, walking over to Sofia, to properly greet her with a good, long hug, barely distinguishable from the kind of warmth she'd only just shown Alisa. A simple message without the need for even a single word, "It is wonderful to meet you, Sofia~"

Clearly, Alisa could tell her learning to speak would only add to her mischief in turn, but as the girl turned to Sofia, she knew she'd earned herself a reprieve. Sofia would deal with it now, but no doubt, Lumen could have easily met her match here. SOmewhat curious to see the events unfolding before her eyes, Alisa rested a hand on her hip, raising an eyebrow at the pair.

What is…? Does she know something about this? The wonder of the moment melting slowly as the ship approached them, as Miss Serena turned her attention back to Alisa, she felt a little of the heat that she had been feeling toward the woman return for a second or two. That kind of anger and tension not something that was easily broken but the ridiculousness of the moment enough to help her ignore it for the time being, the blue beauty frowned as the woman spoke and showed a side to herself that the Valerican Vixen had not witnessed before, it was odd to see the poised and powerful woman she had spent her time with lately looking so astounded.

“Who…?” Never expecting to see the cool and collected character known as the White Empress looking so dumbfounded as she did now, while she wasn’t sure whether the woman was actually speaking to her or simply voicing her thoughts aloud, Sofia elected to at least offer a little verbal cue that she was paying attention. Perhaps in other circumstances the foreign fox would have found quite the degree of amusement in the stupor that had been inflicted upon her companion, but that lingering sense of tension that remained between them repressed that, leaving the sapphire siren confused but at least a little bit intrigued by what was occurring. And that wasn’t about to change any time soon, either.

“O-Oh!” Gasping in surprise as something seemed to shriek and then land between the beauties of blue and black hair, Miss Serena lifted her hand to her mouth as she saw a fine looking fuschia femme burst onto the scene with maximum zeal, and a cute little outfit to boot.
A student? Stunned a little bit by the new arrival but quickly finding that her shock gave way to a strong sense of curiosity, though the outfit of this youngster seemed inclined toward a nautical and slightly naughty theme, the sapphire siren couldn’t help but see something slightly studious about it. Reminded of the garbs that she remembered some Joyan girls wearing in less than reputable locales, they had said it was the uniform at certain academies and though she hadn’t seen that in practice personally, this was the first guess of the foreign fox as she looked over the chipper thing that had seemingly interrupted the argument she had been having with Alisa.

A friend of hers, then? I have to say, with that pink hair, and how cute she is… She reminds me of Cherry? A little surprised by the forwardness that this high spirited young woman showed in regard to the friendly treatment that she gave to the temptress opposite her, though Sofia was still confused as to who this new person was and how she knew her training buddy, she was amused enough by the appearance and energy she possessed. The bouncy little beauty quickly reminding the mermaid of a friend who she had left behind in Orchidia with the vivid colour of her hair, while this one seemed a bit bolder and harder to make blush than the cerise companion who had been by the side of the water witch when she had met the White Empress, they had a sense of nervous energy about them that seemed to compliment the overlap of such brilliant pink hair that made the minx smile, albeit for a second or two.

It seems like forever since I saw her, doesn’t it? Sighing softly as she spied the clear sense of friendship and intimacy between the two, Miss Serena couldn’t help but feel a little left out by the sight she wanted, but much of her lonesomeness came from an odd sense of loss. So busy with the black haired beauty recently that she had hardly a moment to spare for the cute little ‘pet’ of her own, the foreign fox couldn’t help but miss her fuchsia friend right now, wondering just how much she would give up just to see that cute blushing face of the little sister she had adopted or the sense of peace she found in teasing such an adorable young woman.

Maybe I should go see her soon? The difficulties they had found between them seeming to make Sofia think that her training with the dark diva would not continue much longer, the siren frowned as she made a mental plan to go see Cherry the next time she had a chance, which hopefully wouldn’t be too long given the ending she sensed in her little excursion. Really needing that chance to just relax with someone she could let loose with and not worry about the impression she left her partner with, while spending time with Miss Vollan had been a roller coaster of largely high moments the vixen couldn’t help but feel they might just benefit from time apart from one another. It said that absence made the heart grow fonder, maybe a little bit of space would help this fledgling partnership treasure their time together a little but longer?

“Hm?” Blinking in surprise as she found the energetic youngster that had entered the scene suddenly lurching toward her with a big smile, having been focusing on her sentimentality Miss Serena found herself a step behind the conversation as all too quickly she was embraced by this stranger, but in an odd way the deed was exactly what she needed right now. A far cry from the crafty coquette she usually was in this instant and feeling that bit more vulnerable because of what she had just been through, as she felt the warmth of the young woman embracing her so enthusiastically, all too quickly the emotion of the moment seemed to overwhelm the mermaid.

“I-It’s… Lovely to meet you too, Miss Lumen~” Wrapping her arms around that soft and sweet girl that had pounced on her and feeling her eyes stinging a little bit, the cheeks of Sofia carried a hint of blush as she welcomed the affection she was shown wholeheartedly, letting out a soft sigh as she relaxed a little because of the gentle gesture. Given the hug she had needed but known about it by a source she had never expected, the fox couldn’t help but cling to the body of the girl she didn’t know a little tighter and longer than she might have ordinarily anticipated, basking in that feeling of closeness and familiarity that she had been craving and felt like it had been denied from her for a million years before this moment…

"Lumen gives wonderful hugs, does she not~?", noted Alisa, admiring how effortlessly she melted even the confident Sofia in her arms, until they all but pushed aside their argument for the time being. Hardly forgotten, no doubt, but Alisa nonetheless appreciated the reprieve, regardless of how long they'd have.

Feeling the mermaid clinging tigher, the perky Lumen sighed happily, humming in delight as she enjoyed the kind of soothing warmth only a friend's embrace could provide... Leave it to a girl who was once a candle to feel warm, for that was indeed one of her best traits in Alisa's eyes: Sensing Sofia might yearn for this kind of comfort, she came to rest her head on the girl's shoulder, as if inviting her to hold on as long as she wanted. Alisa's friends were her friends too, and she found herself gently stroking the girl's silky blue hair the whole way, those amber eyes all but glimmering as she finally peeled away, looking deeply into that aquamarine of Sofia's own:

"Heheheh~ Did you join Blue Pegasus too, Sofia~?", she inqured almost hopefully with those innocent, energetic eyes of hers, cocking her head curiously smiling happily, hoping for a positive answer before giggling, "I hope I'll see you around more often~"

For the most part, Alisa would much rather watch an old friend bond with a new one, hoping the two would get along swimmingly, hopes she very quickly saw confirmed in a matter of minutes. Only when the two peeled away would the sculptress speak up at last, voicing one of the main questions bouncing around her head:

"Though how did you find us so easily? We haven't seen each other in years.", she inquired, cupping her chin quizzically

"Not easily...", Lumen actually answered for once, that happy go lucky smile gaining the slightest hint of awkwardness as she shook her head rubbed behind her neck,"I've been looking for you for a good while now, Ali.", naturally, Alisa's eyebrow rose once more, to which Lumen just chuckled, "I'll explain everything soon, don't worry~ For now, just hop on in~ I'll give you a ride back to town."

Oddly enough, Lumen actually looked to be in a bit of a hurry. More than anything else, Alisa found this far too surprising to ignore, for the laid back, happy go lucky wanderer had never really shown any kind of a hurry to be anywhere. As Lumen started climbing back up the stairs, Alisa followed suit, the two pausing and looking back at Sofia, hoping she'd follow suit before climbing back up onto the deck, one at a time. No more than a few meters into the air and they'd already climbed up past the canopy, the wind blowing fiercer the higher they reach, devoid of any obstacles:

"My... She really is quite the vessel...", noted Alisa the moment she climbed on, enthralled by the fine craftsmanship that must have gone into building it, a form of art in and of itself. As she strode across the deck, her hands glided over the railings, looking off into the distance, admiring the bird's eye view over the forest they'd only just emerged it, "...I have to wonder, just how in the world did you get your hands on something like this?"

Lumen obviously had as keen a taste for mystery as Alisa did, up until now she barely shone even the faintest gleam of light on some of the many questions lingering between the two Pegasi... But as Alisa looked back at her, looking intently as if to deduce the answers from her body language - and predictably coming up empty - Lumen giggled and replied at long last.

"...I won it~", she yielded at long last, shrugging as a playful, almost giddy smile

Alisa's brow rose, as if silently querying for a bit more. Won it when...? How...? And most importantly, won at what?

"My, my Lumen~... I hadn't pegged you for the gambling type~", teased Alisa, unable to resist trying to tempt the answer out of the lilac haired youth. Quite the old, faithful trick of hers, using the first assumption that came to mind to goad the girl into correcting it.

But Lumen would have none of that, neither confirming nor denying it, bringing her hands together behind her back and swaying as she chuckled, puffing her chest out oh so slightly as she hummed and glanced off into the distance. Realizing she wouldn't get anything out of it, Alisa shighed and moved on:

"I guess the most important part right now is... What name have you given it?", she inquired once more, folding her arms under her bosom, noting the absence of any name plate that she'd seen. Shrugging, Lumen shook her head, about as clear an answer as they could get. She didn't care much for that... In turn, she shifted her gaze to her lover, "In that case, I guess it's down to us... Lumen will need some help coming up with a fitting name."

Sort of… Like Cinnamon… mixed with pumpkin? Incapable of missing the scent of the girl she had in her arms despite how subtle it was, a gentle smile spread slowly across the face of Miss Serena as she basked in the warmth she felt from Lumen, enjoying the sweet fragrance that the figure she clung to gave off. Not even really realizing just how much she craved that comfort that this slice of cuteness offered her until she was surrounded with the soft and sensitive touch she was given, the Valerican Vixen let out a sigh as she felt the cheek of this stranger on her shoulder and couldn’t help but mimic the act, enjoying the closeness she felt and that simple feeling of connection despite the fact that she had no real clue who this girl actually was.

Almost acting on autopilot in her motions, while in a friskier sort of mood the mermaid might have mischievously let her hand wander to the rear of such an eager cutie, instead on this occasion the indulgent woman just let her fingers slip into the tips of that perky looking pink hair and felt the softness of her hair, feeling an odd sense of intimacy and connection as she did so. Really, it was lucky for Alisa that she had found the blue beauty first, cause in this circumstance the little minx could well imagine herself getting rather friendly with a figure like this one, even if right now she wasn’t particularly in the mood for that.

“Ohhhhh? So you’re a Pegasus too?” Chuckling softly as the perky little Lumen spoke to her and finally letting that lovely frame go now that she was feeling a little bit more relaxed and more herself to boot, Sofia leaned back with a smile and couldn’t help but wipe something away from the corner of her eye with the tip of her finger as she looked at the cutie who she had been cuddling with.
“You certainly have the good looks for it~” Definitely a looker, though her features and general style were more ‘girly’ than the mature and womanly image that Miss Vollan seemed to encapsulate so effortlessly, this did not diminish her appeal one bit. A different ‘flavour’ to the dark diva and one that perhaps the foreign fox was a little more accustomed to, as the tension she had felt melted away slowly the nymph couldn’t help but smirk and send a cool line toward this sailor suited sweetie pie, enjoying the feeling of simplicity she found in flirting with a soul like this one.

“You’re actually the first one aside from Alisa I’ve met… Seems they guild is keeping their standard high so far, hm?” Perhaps the factors about the little femme that reminded her of Cherry enough to let Miss Serena feel almost immediately like she was talking to a little sister or close friend, with a cock of her head the young woman continued her coquetry as she looked toward those golden eyes, feeling a little refreshed by the moment but a her own azure irises still seeming to retain a little bit of tiredness. Exhausted by the training session they had been through but the weariness that was shown subtly in the stare of sapphire siren more the kind of fatigue that was built up by emotion, though she had managed to regain enough composure with the interruption of such a charming youngster to mask the turmoil within herself that the training session had created, the teen still felt rather drained and a little bit out of it.

Not really saying all that much as Alisa and her sprightly ‘old friend’ shared a little conversation, the combination of emotional exhaustion and depleted mana left the Valerican a little bit dazed, half-listening to the words between the women but really her mind turning around in circles over and over enough that not many of them sank in very deeply. Nodding at the invitation of her guild mate to step aboard the ship partly because she didn’t fancy walking home all that much when she felt like this, Sofia slumped onto the nearest surface once they were aboard and looked out over the landscape in a wistful fashion that was brought on by a mix of tiredness and melancholy.

“Bellerophon.” Drifting in and out of the conversation really and more of an observer to the dynamic between Lumen and Alisa than an active participant, as the talk between the two turned toward naming the unusual vessel they found themselves on, Miss Serena broke her silence in a somewhat awkward fashion to which she was not accustomed as something in her memory was sparked up.

“We’re Pegasus, right? A story my mother told me, when I was a girl… It had a hero called Bellerophon riding around on a winged horse?” Imagination stimulated by the ladies nearby and perhaps her desire for comfort quickly casting the mind of the mermaid toward her matriarch, though she would concede that she was not at her sharpest right now, there seemed a certain sense of poetry and no shortage of irony in the suggestion she made. A bunch of Pegasi getting a lift from something named after a hero that would traverse the world on a flying stallion seeming like the perfect little reversal, while she had no idea what the other two would make of something silly from her childhood, to Sofia is seemed a title worthy of perfection and she hoped they agreed with her because of this…

Lumen couldn't help but giggle as she shared her warmth with this wonderful new friend Alisa had made, and soon to be her friend. Well, not exactly, for in her mind, the two were already fast friends, and she was very much enjoyed that saline scent from the seafaring femme, holding her tightly enough that the luscious warmth of each other's bodies were all they could feel. And yet despite her forwardness, nothing in Lumen's actions truly tarnished her innocence in anyway:

"Mmmm, I am~", giggled the girl, nodding girlishly, even blushing as the girl praised her, those youthful features clearly lighting up as Sofia praised her, twirling a lock of her own hair, hinting at her receptiveness, "Hehehe, as do you~ Not really surprising that Ali recruited you, hmm~?"

While not as vain as her partner, Lumen was clearly as receptive to compliments and praise as Alisa herself if not more so, as evidenced by the hue in her cheeks. At the same time, she wasn't the least bit shy about gazing back into her eyes, admiring Sofia's beauty and friendliness as they were without any real undertones:

"If you think so, you really should stick around... Everybody looks prettier after a few years of Blue Pegasus self improvement~!", gracefully tucking a loose lilac lock behind her ear, Lumen sunk on one hip and turned slightly, as if posing for a camera, all but evidencing her own improvement merely as a result of imitating the people she looked up to...

Quite clearly Alisa in this case, though she seemed thoroughly lacking in that self assured sensuality her partner boasted. Which didn't really stop Alisa from enjoying their exchange, quite the opposite. The more she saw, the further it amused and delighted her, pleased to see Sofia so readily bonding with her beloved partner, knowing she'd feel a lot better if the two got along, and overjoyed to see that wish come true so quickly before her eyes. And when Sofia so readily offered a name for the new vessel, Alisa was immediately taken by it, brow rising as she spoke:

"Belle, hmmm~?", replied Alisa, humming and cupping her chin, her smile widening the further the mulled on it. Clearly somebody liked the name offered, even more so once Sofia explained where it came from, "I will admit, none of the options I had in mind were nearly that interesting~"

She couldn't help but gaze at the beautiful mermaid, forever admiring the taste of the woman who inspired her so, no manner of fighting would dispel that anytime soon. That adventurous spirit was nothing if not beautiful, enrapturing even, the same interest that charmed her towards interesting tales found it's roots in the same place as her own desire to make new ones. It took her a moment to recall the fight they just had and even shorter than that to push it away from her thoughts, much preferring to enjoy this momentary peace with her beloved Sofia and her returned partner:

"That would be quite the fitting choice, no better one for a vessel of Blue Pegasus~", agreed Alisa, casting a cursory glance at her partner who nodded just as happily, delighted with the option, "That is, if Lumen is fine with it~"

Silent as she once was, despite gaining this rather endearing new voice Lumen scarcely felt the need to speak. Instead, she merely nodded, visibly delighted by Sofia's choice and having no objections to raise when Alisa reached her conclusion:

"I guess that settles it. We'll this ship the Bellerophon~", chuckled the sculptress, at that moment when all their fighting seemed completely pushed aside, when she cherished only the chance to share this moment with her. Perhaps that aching sting she felt not so long ago would linger with her for a while longer but... For now, she found it easily enough to simply move on, looking between Sofia and the cutie with eyes of amber, fully recalling just how evasive her friend got when someone tried to gleam answers for her, "By the way Lumen... You never actually explained how you found us...?"

It's not as if she was particularly secretive, Lumen just loved messing with people, make them wonder what was going through her mind. Hell, even her gender served those purposes, before she aquired her human body and inevitably betrayed it for any who bothered to look. Thus, it came as a surprise to the sculptress when that perpetual, cheery smile of hers faded, her brow furrowing slightly as she met Alisa's gaze and spoke with a serious enough tone to hint at the gravity of the situation:

"I've been looking for a few days... Apparently the next attack will take place in Astera.", spoke Lumen, looking off to the horizon towards where she'd come from.

“Heh, yes… ‘Belle’ suits the ship meant to carry beauties like us quite well, I’d say~” The contraction that was created from the name that she had offered only seemed to make her suggestion seem all the more fitting, the corners of Miss Serena’s mouth curled upward as she looked toward her travelling companions with a smirk, enjoying the notion for a moment or two or two at least. The stare of the siren washing over those perky pink features of Lumen before resting on the vision known as Alisa Vollan, for a few seconds the teen managed to put the turmoil that had occurred between the pair to one side, but that was all that she managed.

Not able to move from it as quickly as some may have, after gazing toward the gorgeous goddess who had brought her here some form of lingering discomfort made the heart of the sapphire seductress throb painfully and her smile melted as she looked away, remembering how the arrival of this girl had interrupted their intense exchange and left it unresolved. Comforted by the upbeat arrival but the lingering issue like a stone in ones shoe that caught when you least expected it, though it might have suited Sofia to simply tip away the feelings that bothered her, it was easier said than done.

That in itself only serving to make her feel sadder, the Valerican vixen no longer felt the anger she had back on the ground, but the disappointment hadn’t diminished at all. It was like a dent in something that was once beautiful, a stain or scuff on a piece of artwork that once one saw, it was hard to look away from.

How DID she find us? We were pretty far off the beaten path there… Trying not to focus on the ill feeling within herself and instead on issues that were a little less depressing, with a soft sigh Miss Serena looked toward the conversing companions with whom she was travelling. Finding that her own sense of curiosity and confusion seemed to line up well with the White Empress, though the foreign fox was uncharacteristically quiet for the moment she couldn’t help but share the wonder that the woman expressed, finding herself somewhat impressed by the tracking skill that had been shown by cute little Lumen in finding out where they were.

Though, they did say she had partnered with Alisa for a while… Maybe she learned a few things about hunting from her? Or has some other trick because of that? Not afforded a whole lot of time to reflect on the issue but even in this weary state the mind of the mermaid not to be underestimated, as she watched the interaction between her fellow Pegasi Sofia already could concoct a reason or two to explain the efficiency that this fuschia femme had shown in her search.
It’s hard to imagine that innocence using a tracking spell, but maybe she’s cheekier than she seems? The young woman seeming to be somewhat evasive about the topic, though that playfulness seemed more born of amusement than craftiness, the naughty nymph wouldn’t have put it past a decent mage to use magic means to keep track of the people in their life, especially when they seemed to be as independent and Miss Vollan. It probably easy to leave a little ‘mark’ on someone with the right spell to know roughly where they are, had she been less free spirited the fox might have done the same, though valued her own and the choice of others too much to place a person even within a ‘cage’ they could not see.

“An Attack? What do you mean?” Raising her voice when the answer to the riddle or at least the cryptic one that Lumen was willing to offer only provided more mystery to Miss Serena, though the answer of the perky youngster sounded like it was something she expected Alisa to understand, the vixen did not and was happy to voice her ignorance in a situation like this. The first place that the mind of the minx leapt to at the notion of a town being attacked being a matter of military might, the image of soldiers marching on a town filled the head of the water witch, and also made her feel a little more agitated.

“Is Astera being invaded by someone? Who would do such a thing?” Far more of a lover than a fighter, the idea of any nation flexing their muscles at the expense of an innocent population was something that disagreed with quite strongly, and was something she would eagerly object to. Not exactly sure why this was the business of an entity like Blue Pegasus really but that not really seeming to matter in the moment, if people were in trouble that really didn’t matter. After all, neither the mother nor the uncle of Sofia would stand idly by and see such idiocy continue, and the girl they had raised wouldn’t either…

She needn't have said anything beyond this, really... Even after two years apart, the two girl had grown accustomed to one another's way of thinking, and after the raid on Orchidia, Lumen no doubt knew there was only one kind of attack Alisa would care about, and Alisa in turn knew Lumen understood this very well. Sofia, however, did not, and even the sculptress awaited some form of confirmation before picking out their next destination:

"Demons...", Lumen nodded almost gravely, losing some of her earlier perk as she confirmed Sofia's question. Alisa and her had faced many battles together, though neither of them had seen something as bold as whole armies of demons invading Fiore en masse as they had been doing in the past few months, "The Knights caught wind of it... They probably want a repeat of what happened in Orchidia."

Alisa barely reacted to this statement, evidencing how on some level she already expected to hear. What did surprise her though, was hearing about Lumen finding out all about that. She'd expected the girl's endless curiosity to have driven her to the information, perhaps running into some disreputable cultists like those Alisa and Daiko took down a while back:

"I'm surprised they actually informed people in advance for once...", noted the surprised Alisa, positively so for once, her smile widening at what she precieved as an improvement in the drastically opaque methods the knights often operated under. The last raid had been a mess after all, with too many demons pouring in from the bowels of the Abyss, catching the populace completely off guard, "Good thing you found yourself a ship. Or else you'd have likely not found us in time~"

Now the only real question was, how much longer they actually had to get there in time... This was one of those cases when Alisa knew Lumen would have told them if she knew, but she instead looked at Sofia, wondering if she had anything else left to ask as Lumen retreated back to her place behind the helm, spinning it just enough for the bow of the ship to steadily turn back towards Orchidia, prompting Alisa to hold on to the railing once more, bending her knees just enough to absorb every rocking and swaying motion. No real danger of getting knocked overboard really, but no real reason not to hold on either:

"Well, guess that settles where we're headed to next. If the demons show up, we'll be there before them.", she noted at last as the ship soon steadied, releasing her grip to roll each wrist in her hands. Her smile had mostly faded as the thought of another demon onslaught sunk in, and now more than ever she remembered their fight... Would her lover still join them...? On some level, she knew the girl might be in danger if she joined them, but would she really be safe if she remained behind, anywhere but at her side...? Alisa still trusted her to handle herself, and they were guildmates to boot... They quarrel they had earlier seemed utterly meaningless rationally, and yet she couldn't completely ignore that knot in her throat, the message she gleamed from it... The two had always been wonderful together but the last training session had taught her they probably weren't the best when it came to fighting, for a key element seemed to be lacking... And thus she paused, glancing off towards the city, tucking that long, fluttering hair behind her ear, gulping as those wine red eyes shifted right back to the ravishing mermaid with a soft smile, "...Assuming you'll be joining us, Sofia."

Looking into her eyes as such, Alisa wondered what thoughts might be crossing her mind at the moment... One look would have all but evidenced the struggles they faced were anything but forgotten, but in the face of a Lumen's return, followed by the grander peril of another invasion, she couldn't truly dwell on it as she otherwise might...

“Demons…?” Tilting her head to the side at the simple explanation that she was offered by the pink pilot, the forehead of the foreign fox began to show a tight know as she frowned, unsure of whether Lumen was making a joke or not.  A visitor to the Fiorian region, though she had caught wind of mysterious disturbances involving otherworldly entities, for the most part Miss Serena had assumed it was some form of smoke behind blown from people’s backsides.

“Those things are real?” Exaggeration always an issue when dealing with strangers, especially ones who wished to impress a pretty girl, most ‘normals’ tended to attribute any magical occurrence to spirits and phantoms rather than accept a more commonplace reasoning for incidents of this nature.
“No offense, but what the hell are you guys talking about? You’re speaking in a way that makes a lot of assumptions…” An optimist but enough of a pragmatist to only believe what she was told by the people she trusted or what her senses revealed to her, Sofia couldn’t help but be a little sceptical about what was being described, having arrived in Orchidia recently enough that she didn’t have a clue about the thing that had supposedly happened there and not been informed about it by any of the people that she had met there, the cyan siren couldn’t help but feel confused about what was going on here.

“I feel like you guys are having a conversation about something I haven’t a clue about, and then expecting me to rush into something I have no ability to judge?” Feeling a little annoyed because of this, and even more so because it felt like the two other women on the ship were making her decisions for her, Miss Serena couldn’t help but fold her arms in irritation and glare toward the girls she was travelling with. Not one who particularly enjoyed having her decisions made for her and more the type to act out in rebellion against those who presumed they could control her, that wild side of the water witch made her half want to just throw herself off the deck right there and take her chances with her landing, but luckily some sense of reason won out in her.

“Look, I get that you’re wanting to make tracks to whatever this is post haste, Alisa, but do you think you could slow down for a second and consider the apparent moron you’re travelling with?” That sense of annoyance and desire to design her own destiny making the mermaid rather uppity all the same, though Miss Vollan had shown her a hint of courtesy in the way she had voiced her ‘order’ Sofia still couldn’t help but feel annoyed with what was going on. Still not really understanding what was going down and feeling like her fate had already been laid out in front of her, while the reluctance that she showed was perhaps not the most courageous quality that the blue beauty could have demonstrated, she felt it important to voice her concerns.

“In case you hadn’t noticed, I’m not in the best state right now and you’re asking me to make a life threatening decision? That might be nothing to you, but it’s something for me!” Once again them seeming to do what Alisa wanted, when Alisa wanted to do it, she couldn’t help but start to feel a little bit smothered by the way that this relationship was starting to turn out. Barely able to raise a word while the super best friends threw together a plan to deal with something she didn’t really understand on the fly and apparently assume she was part of it, Miss Serena was feeling like she was struggling to take a single breath and now the women she was with wanted her to stuff her head into the water once more, and in a way was starting to panic because of this…

"Real enough, sadly...", sighed the sculptress, glancing away as she thought back to her time spent in the Abyss... Earnest, if not hopeful words from one who'd spent far too long hunting demons and those who would summon them, enough to take power from them and march on towards the battle. For Alisa, it was merely the natural course of action to take... Enough that she'd forget how her loved ones wouldn't necessarily have interest in following her.

Yes... When they spent all this time together, grown so attuned to all but the deepest of their emotions, Alisa could easily forget how Sofia was a traveller, a wanderer only freshly arrived to Fiore. She'd fortunately arrived after the onslaught on Orchidia which the people had been all too determined to move on from, and reluctant to bring up in the face of strangers and visitors. When the girl finally snapped for being kept in the dark, her brow rose as her gaze turned right back to her, shocked out her plans and antecipation by the worries of the present:

"You're right...", along the way she'd gotten the demons in her sight and forgotten everything else, but once the girl called her out on it, she gave the girl her full attention, Pushing aside the thoughts of warring demons for the time being. Walking to closer to her lover, she rubbed her temple, silently acknowledging her mistake, "Sometimes it's easy to forget you haven't been around nearly so long... My apologies."

Even the fight they just had mattered pitifully little at this point, and Alisa couldn't help but reach out, looking deeply into her eyes as her fingertips brushing that smoothness of her hand, that irresistible softness of her skin... It felt as though no matter how hard they fought, that primal magnetism that drew Alisa to her would never really go away. She could disagree with the argument they had before but right now, Sofia had a fair point, and the sculptress smiled softly, seeking nothing but to soothe her worries. Lest Sofia shy away from her, Alisa would gently take hold of her hand, squeezing softly, enough to let her know she was here.

"Don't worry... I'll explain everything along the way to Orchidia, and you can decide whether or not you want to join...", spoke the sculptress, looking into her eyes and shaking her head

Perhaps due to her own free spirit, Alisa related to Sofia's current plight far more than the last one, never wanting the beautiful nymph to feel caged, stripped of her choice in the matter. That determined look in the Huntress' eyes made it all too clear, this was something she had to do and would do it, but that didn't mean Sofia had to come along against her will. Without even the slightest ounce of pressure either way, that same cool that might have shocked Sofia before seemed utterly natural here, a reflection of a fighter who could keep a clear head under pressure, and had nothing but love for the girl before her.

"If you don't, I'll understand... You can stay behind in Orchidia, and I can come find you once the battle is over. Okay...?", she asked, ready to tell the girl everything she wanted to know about the wars in Fiore, and how the Demons had only just turned into one of its newest enemies.

At the same time, a stronger grip on her hand betrayed just the slightest reluctance to part ways, one of those many feelings Alisa guarded behind a wall of diamond and would readily dismiss if she felt she had to... And right now, that was one of those times...
