Alisa

That was a wierd encounter... Well, perhaps not as wierd as it might have been at any other time of the year, but still wierd nonetheless. Getting flung across the air was a pretty normal occurence for her for some of these missions, yet as the years passed pulling that off had gotten progressively harder, with Alisa's constantly growing power. Thus she had to give credit to the odd, floaty little spectral thingy, even if it really didn't feel hostile at all. Even now that she'd arrived at the hotel she couldn't help think back to the images flashing in her mind then, and wonder just what they meant. Her appetite for dinner had lessened too, as she found it hard feeling hungry with her head so preoccupied with such thoughts. Trying to clear her head like that proved a futile effort, but it appeared she wasn't the only one. Inbetween her meal, one of the waiters came to a table and handed her a note, signed by a man name Lubex.

This guy... He was the good samaritan who helped her that time! She recognized the name, though she was still a bit dazed when he first introduced himself, she really wasn't the type to forget a name so quickly, especially a mere couple of minutes after being tossed around like a rag doll. Any fighter worth her salt tends to remember nifty little details like those. As she was still wearing her work outfit - pure white and mostly unblemished like her monicker suggested - she didn't even have to do anything special but run her hands through her hair a couple of times, wipe off of the dust, until she was once more completely satisfied with her appearance, then allowed Lumen to once more climb back onto her shoulder

"Oh, nice to see you again...!", he greeted her, a kind, charismatic smile on his face - that betrayed but a hint of the dread he felt at the situation - walking up and offering his hand, which she accepted, "Wasn't sure you'd come work again so soon after what happened back there."

She already knew what he wanted for his message had been quite detailled, enough for her to get the picture after reading only half of it, and get a clear idea after finishing it.

"What can I say? I'm not too keen on leaving unfinished business... So what's the plan?", she all but flipped her long hair behind her back with a collected smile

It appeared that after she and Dex had gotten knocked by it and Dacol came to help, he couldn't resist indulging his curiosity and wandered towards the river, where Alisa told him they'd ran into the creature. And he had seen it again, but not in the formless, wispy shape they had seen. He claimed he had indeed seen what appeared to be a spirit, but this one looked human in form... Just like what she remembered the ones in Hargeon had looked like.

And naturally, he worried. He worried that if the creature was somehow gaining power and it had already wounded two people, it may continue to do so in the future, possibly even reap lives if they found no way of stopping it. For Alisa, this came with an added sense of responsibility she couldn't quite shake. She had found a spirit in certain shape, and after touching it and triggering a concussive blast, said creature had changed. Could something she or Dex did have brought about this transformation? Had they made the creature stronger and possibly more threatening? It may not have felt like it at first, but appearances may be decieving, she knew that very well.

"Lumen, light...", she asked her partner, letting her hop off her shoulder and light the way ahead with a flickering flame as ghostly as the being they chased.

For some reason, however, Alisa felt she didn't really need her partner's guiding light. She just knew where she needed to go even though they struggled finding the spirit where she'd met it last time. She couldn't explain why, but those images she saw before all but flashed into her mind again, making her wince as she brought one hand to her head. They were getting stronger, calling to her... 'This way'...

She couldn't really explain her reasoning, which only seemed to make Lubex a hell of a lot more frightened. And for good reason, as they soon found a humanoid, spectral form he recognized. It looked nothing like what Alisa had seen before, but she could feel this was the same entity, having had its memories flood into her.

"Why... Why did you call me here?"

'I need your help', she felt. It wasn't as if she could hear any answers, but with the spirit staring right them, it was almost like it peered into her soul, feeding the answers directly into her head. Sensing her wondering as to why it appeared before her in this form, it confirmed her troubling suspicions. As someone who had magic in life, the spirit had endured the withering of its physical body through mana, and no doubt the Mana Alisa fed it when she touched it had helped it attain a tangible form:

"You... You can talk to it...?", whispered Lubex into her ear, all but cowering behind her not unlike Dex had done earlier. Alisa simply nodded, too preoccupied to vocalize an answer. But that was more than enough for him, "Ask it what it wants from us."

And she did. She repeated Lubex' question all but word for word, asking the spectral being about what it was doing here, and why had it not crossed over to the other side. She had a pretty good suspicion; all the ghosts she'd met thus far had some manner of unfinished business in the material world, something holding them back and preventing them from moving on to the afterlife. And this one was no different, as it appeared.

It needed their help to do two things: One, find the loved on it had lost, and two help prevent an unknown danger that would soon be upon them. But before Alisa could ask for more information, it vanished, telling her to meet her one day after that. Only at that moment did she realize how much her head actually hurt, groaning and falling to one knee with a migraine and ultimately requiring Lubex' help to walk the first few meters, before the pain finally got bearable enough.

They needed to inform the authorities. And in Alisa's case, she needed to meet the entity again. It was just after dinner time, so in a few hours, the required new day would have come. She doubted she'd be able to get a long, truly restful sleep until she finally settled this, and dealt with whatever mysterious danger was coming to Orchidia.
