Ittindi
Another day another dollar, Ittindi had a decent amount of funds from his last big client. That’s how it was with his lifestyle find a rich client; get fired eventually for someone more attractive to the younger members of the family. It was a cycle Ittindi had become accustomed to too, it helped keep the butler economy fresh with new recruits as well. That wouldn’t stop him from becoming the best, his reputation amongst the other butlers had waned in recent years. Many didn’t look favorably on some of his darker tasks. As a result, he had to go pay off a master of intrigue to help set his reputation straight. The next step on that was to join the Rune Knights. He had been taking less butler jobs and more “mage” jobs as a result. This was also to increase his strength and reputation through the lands. He would still do side cleaning jobs, but he imagined once he was in Rune Knights he’d have to clean there.

It was a gloomier day in the Era, the sun blocked out by gray skies, mixed with the colder climate up high made a brisk windy day. He was wearing his more typical butler attire as it was a 3 piece and was perfect for a brisk day. He was to meet with a man named Hugo by a laboratory, he wondered what kind of task the man had in mind.

To his surprise Hugo seemed to be in decent shape for his age, as he walked with a decent amount of pride in his gait. He handed Ittindi a list, Ittindi considered talking to the man but from his attitude after handing over the list he knew the type. He had served many masters, and this was his favorite. They thought of butlers as slaves and rarely addressed them besides correcting mistakes. It made it much easier to leave houses like this with no attachment, just pure transaction. He’d walk off perusing the list, the first stop would have to be the hardware store. There wasn’t one too far from their current location.

When he arrived, he was greeted by decent customer service, he had noticed that Era’s shops seemed to be a little more joyous than some of the other cities in Fiore. One had to be satisfied with the help they received even if improvements could be made. He’d make small talk with the shop keep as he got the package invoice. It seemed like the weather was supposed to break some time closer to dusk. The package was a lot larger than the man had indicated on his list, he’d have to make a small stop dropping it back off.

When he returned the scientist was still at work and he would ignore Ittindi as he sat the package down on the table. He’d double check to make sure it wasn’t in danger of falling off the table from the scientist’s wandering and pacing. Ittindi had been whipped when he was younger for something similar happening, it was never the employer’s fault after all.

Walking out he’d look down at the list and see that for the most part the rest of the ingredients would be obtainable at a local grocer. He would stare at the last object on the list a pure white dog, man he hated scientists. The outside of the grocery stores had retractable shades over their plants, just in case of the rain, it had a pleasant homestyle aesthetic as he walked in and was greeted by a cashier. He would grab a small hand basket and grab the ingredients necessary. He’d make sure that the whipped cream was bagged separately from the cooking oil and candles just in case.
Finally, the pet store, there was one down the street and he came in. The animals were well kept, none started to make noise as he walked in. He would look from window to window, and there wasn’t a pure white dog to be found. He knew how specific a scientist would be, there was an off-white dog, but not the sheen or color he explicitly asked for. He’d went to the front and asked the cashier if there was another pet store nearby, and she would kindly direct him. Surprised that she’d be ok with him going to competition Ittindi would continue walking through the town. The next store didn’t have a white dog at all in displays dismayed Ittindi would again ask for directions to another pet store. This would continue for about 3 to 4 pet stores, until he ended up on the outskirts of Era, the shop he had been directed to was probably the shadiest store he had seen since entering the city. It looked more like a house than an office, and as he walked in, he could see that it was a house. Instead of glass displays there were animals in cages all around what used to be a living room and kitchen that had the walls blown out to make a large space. Sure enough, there was a whimpering white dog, pure as snow, exactly what the scientist was looking for. As he purchased the dog, he’d mutter to himself. From one cage to another, at least you’ll be at peace soon. The store of course only had a leash, so on the way back to the scientist Ittindi would pick up some gourmet food, a food and water bowl then a bed. Even if it was only temporarily, everyone deserved to live in luxury.

It would take another 10-20 minutes to make it back to the scientist dog on a leash supply in two bags. Dropping off the supplies on a table, he’d get the dog comfortable and take off its leash. Putting some food in a bowl, and filling the water, he wouldn’t say a word to the scientist. Once everything was put in its proper place, he’d notice that a bag of payment was on the table. He’d pick it up and walk out another job done.
