The task at hand was supposedly simple, but Ikanbi could not help but feel that something may cause more trouble than she expected. Something was disrupting the local fisherman and causing them to turn up with low yields for their work in what was otherwise quite the prosperous environment generally. She would bring Tempris with her, her guiding star, her light in the darkness, her partner in purging the world of evil. What they would be doing today would be a little different than what they'd been dealing with, but that was just fine. Ikanbi had heard tales from Sia and Kuva on how this sort of thing had happened before, creatures of the odd variety appearing around Astera's outskirts and disrupting the ecosystem. Kuva had said it was easier to just kill them and she didn't particularly mind the negative connotations to doing such. Sia however expected better of Ikanbi and encouraged her to find a more peaceful solution. Ikanbi sighed because Sia was right. It probably would be better to deal with whatever creature happened to be causing the issues in a more peaceful sort of way. Peace was a nice goal, but she wondered if the creature would even be able to understand reason in the first place. 

Could it talk? Would it understand her? Would she be able to even communicate with it at all? With Maneki Nico at her side Ikanbi left the inn she was staying at in Port Astera with Tempris in tow. She had a map, of course, which she pulled out from her traveler's pouch, a nifty little gift from Collective Mind. A most useful thing, really, it had such potential for great and infinite storage. She rummaged around in it, sifting through her section of tedious paper works that she had allocated within a compartment inside it and withdrew the map as well as a few news clippings about the mysterious creature that the fishermen had been reporting. Ikanbi examined the map and cross referenced it with the data provided by the fishermen, and additionally showing this data and information to Tempris as they slowly walked through the streets of Astera. She took a pen from her pouch and made a spot on the map signifying where exactly they were headed, but didn't put the map away. Just because Ikanbi knew the general location of the creature's whereabouts didn't mean she knew exactly how to get there after all. She walked through the streets with Tempris and on occasion, she would make jumps to higher ground to see if she could find a shortcut for them. With the assistance of her Hermes god soul and her moon rabbit headband, this particular feat was of no trouble at all. She leaped effortlessly from the ground, as though it required no effort at all and cleared quite a bit of vertical distance with no trouble what so ever. From her new vantage point she found a quicker path, and decidedly told Tempris "Let's go this way." Before assisting them up and over to the top of the building. Together they traversed the rooftops and made their way through the city with ease. They traversed from rooftop to rooftop and eventually made their way down to the docks after a bit of travel time. They did not have much further to go now, as it turned out, but they would likely take a boat for the rest of the journey. Where they were going was just a little ways off the coast, the creature had been found to have made a home for itself on a little secluded cove not terribly far from the coast, but far enough that swimming to it would be all of a chore and not at all worth it in the slightest in any sort of capacity.

Still they persisted and as they made their way closer and closer to the docks Ikanbi could feel herself swelling with excitement to take another odd job. It was fun in a way, truly, taking odd bits of work that were not necessarily things quite in her skill set. It would truly open her mind to bigger and better things, make her think outside of the box and do things she otherwise never would have dreamed of doing. Ikanbi and her mentor found a boat captain willing to take them on the journey, he was eager to have a few mages deal with their little critter problem. They were eager too, well Ikanbi was for certain, she couldn't always quite tell exactly how Tempris felt about doing things that wasn't purging the world of the evil infidels. Still, she did at least seem happy. Ikanbi and Tempris got on the boat and made small talk with the crew, whom were just as eager and happy to have them on board as the captain had been. The creature in question had been causing issues for quite some time as it turned out and they were simply ecstatic to have Ikanbi and Tempris on board and even made wild promises to give them of the days catch as additional payment for their services. Ikanbi thanked them for their hospitality and in no time at all they had set sail for their destination.

The journey by boat went by with no trouble at all as it turned out. The crew of fishermen pointed out some of their prime fishing spots and showed Ikanbi and Tempris around the boat to pass the time. They had their own map aboard, of course, and lexicons and star charts and all sorts of navigational equipment that Ikanbi was fascinated by, being a bit of an artificer of sorts herself. She cross referenced some of their data with her own to get a better pinpoint on where exactly they were going and the crew confirmed they had seen the creature return to a specific cove several times when they had attempted to shoot it with a harpoon. As far as they could tell it was rather smart, but quite feral. Ikanbi wondered what exactly it was they were dealing with. The stories that the crew told her about it and how they had described its appearance was not quite in line with what she had expected based on her readings and findings when she was out on the town. Still, it didn't particularly matter she supposed. She would attempt to do the job to the best of her abilities either way. A smile crossed her face. She wasn't exactly sure how if she would wind up killing the creature or scaring it off. Would it be edible? It could be sentient and reasoned with hypothetically, she supposed. She doubted it though, or surely someone would already have attempted to do such with it. She considered their options carefully as they neared the cove where the creature was said to retreat to when attacked. Her and Tempris hopped off and started their search. If they were lucky, the creature would be found easily. If they were not lucky, they may have to wait quite some time for it to arrive and hope that the appearance of the boat didn't discourage it from coming to its home. 

As it turned out, luck was on their side. They found the creature, a wild, crazy looking fish humanoid sort of thing. Ikanbi debated killing it in her head, and asked Tempris what they thought the two of them should realistically do with it, then sighed as she realized it probably wasn't for the best. "I wonder how sentient it is, if it can even understand us?" Ikanbi asked Tempris somewhat rhetorically, but loud enough for the creature to hear. "Actually I can understand you quite well," the creature had said aloud in response, which shocked Ikanbi to her core. Maneki Nico stepped towards the creature gingerly and hesitantly, but eventually made its way up towards it whilst sniffing at the air. "In that case, since you understand me, you should know that we have been sent here to kill you, but...I don't particularly want to kill you if you are intelligent enough for communication." Ikanbi had said aloud to the creature. "What is your name?" The creature nodded with what she said though had become quite visibly alarmed when Ikanbi mentioned killing them. "Iradel" Said the creature to Ikanbi.

"I see...Well, Iradel, you have been disrupting the fishermen. Your presence and feeding habits have been doing things to the ecosystem and the fisherman haven't been able to catch things. You scare away all the fish here." Ikanbi said to them.

"I only came here because there is a larger predator that hunts me where I used to live...I miss my old home, if you deal with them I will move back and leave your precious ecosystem alone."

"That sounds reasonable." Ikanbi said to Tempris, and after taking some direction from Iradel they were off on their boat again after explaining the situation to the crew. In no time they had found the lair of this larger predator that could not be reasoned with and dealt with it swiftly, and the crew of the boat took the body as a trophy of sorts before sailing them back to Iradel. "The job is done, Iradel." Said Ikanbi to the strange fish humanoid. "Thank you, kind human." Said Iradel to them and before long Ikanbi and Tempris were back on the boat and headed back to port after having finished the days work.

Today was going to be a special day. The Illumin zealot was not only not apart of the rune knights any more, which was very ironic cause her previous stay in the rune knights was short. She was now apart of another family member's guild. She had not reveal that to anyone though, especially since she was still thinking about what she wanted to do to move forward. So much was happening. They survived some heretical invaders attacking the world. Now there was this super dangerous plague tormenting this land of scientist, which was probably due to their lack of faith. Either way, it was irrelevant to today because today, Ika was leading the way. Tempris was going to be the support, a role she had been kept from for years despite her gift.

This adventure was going to take place at the beach so Tempris had a modified outfit to move around on the sand. Her modified headdress was white with a golden band over her forehead with the symbol of Illumin. The headdress would transition to become more transparent as it fell down to her tights. Her own golden hair was tucked and hidden behind the opaque portion of the headdress. Above that headdress was a pink halo representing her holiness and dedication to showing the world his loving warmth. A necklace hung around her neck which held off of her gear inside. The exception was for her cloak which she usually wore now that she did not have to be in a uniform. Under her cloak was a baby blue bikini, the bottom which had a blue translucent skirt. One could argue she was not taking this mission too seriously and simply wanted to enjoy the environment but such ignorance was a sin and she was aways ready to show them her commitment.

So when it came to the mission, apparently some sinful monster was harassing the ecosystem or something of the sorts. Tempris did not really care for such minor things. Instead, he was parsing for the goal. As Ika lead the way with her map from her fancy bag of holding, Tempris clasped her hands and silently prayed. For now her boredom was sated with the change in scenery but only time would tell how long that lull would last for. So when the woman pulled out a pen and proceeded to write on the map, the girl gave a small smirk. It was nice to see the woman take charge and be responsible planning out stuff. It was also nice to not have to do that. She could spend more time praying and looking for the remnants of sin around them. When Ika started jumping around, Tempris could not help but break character and just blankly stare at the woman. There was no way she was going to move around like that, even with her own flight spell, it was not worth it. Fortunate for her, it seemed Ika was only doing so to scout. What a blessing this woman was.

Tempris would quietly take back that compliment when the woman suggested, and suggested was a strong word, that they traveled over the rooftops. The girl closed her eyes and let out a quiet sigh. Then she raised her arm to summoning two small blue and white wings. The girl ascended into the air and followed Ika floating a foot or two off the ground. It had been so long since she used this spell, maybe this was for the better. Maybe it was fate, a sign that she should practice this unfamiliar movement more than keeping to the every comfortable ground. As they traveled over the buildings. Eventually they arrived at a boat which was suppose to take them the rest of the way. It would have been at this point that Tempris would have dispelled her enchantment. Ikanbi looked so happy to be doing this. Tempris would return a small smile but she could not share the same feeling. For her, this was just relaxing and she was going to relish in this quiet.

Tempris watched as Ika spoke to all the sinners on the boat. She did not really engaged, holding herself back solely for the purposes of not wanting to managed this boat herself. They had their uses and was better for her mission on this plane than ascending to Illumin. There was also another important thing about this. As Ika spoke about them, Tempris took note to mentally jot down any important facts about the creature they were hunting. The coves it was seen, the spots the fishermen hung out at, the various actions they took on the beast. It would all be important later on and if Ika needed assistance, she would be happy to share those tidbits. Eventually they would arrive to shore and have to travel by foot. Tempris was regretting her choice of clothing for a bit given the rocking ground that was not the sand she was prepared for. However, she was not going to voice that mistake and would bear with the occasional overly hard rock threatening to poke her foot. Soon though, the two would have something a bit more important to worry about.

As they entered the cove, a weird fishy man thing would bare its fangs at them. It was a this time that Ika seek guidance from her. "Should the creature be smart enough to have sentience, it could be sinful and thus it would be best to save it. However, if it was just plan cunning or intelligence for a beast. Killing it could be the answer... though we will not know the ramifications. Is the creature social? Will others discover the deeds and seek revenge? I personally would like the capture it and learn more about it. What we do afterwards can vary base off what we learn." Tempris felt so smart on her statement, wearing her smirk proudly. Tempris did not bother to respond to the question about it understanding them. To her it would not matter. If it cared about words, then the fishermen could have dealt with this.

That did not stop Ika from trying to talk with the creature. From that little interaction, Tempris was a bit shocked. It had a name and it really did understand them. This would make Tempris take a more neutral stance as she pondered whether she needed to resort to violence or not. Fortunate for them, there was a simple solution. If they took out the creature that was hunting this creature. They would be able to go home. So the two girls followed the creatures instructions and found the bigger creature. This battle was not too hard as Tempris was able to cripple the creature through her own sheer strength. This allowed the crew to properly harpoon it and thus take it out. With that creature out of the way, the problem child creature was able to return home. The fishmen was safe and the stupid ecosystem was not in danger of dying or whatever ecosystems did. Tempris did not really care. However, it was nice to see Ika happy with there accomplishment. They would definitely have to do this again.
