Name: The Reformer

Participants: Jove

Story: For the entirety of his stay within the Rune Knights Jove has been known as the 9-5 Sorcerer, a name apt for one who worked only during his on-duty hours, and only when given the order. However, with the Rune Knights losing so many high level resources, extra scrutiny has been given to all those who remain. Thus, the fact that Jove had been a harder worker than he ever previously indicated has been highlighted. Due to a twist of fate, the fact that he was so modestly dedicated to his career was something that has come with much praise, and with the praise has come more work. Jove has been ordered to speak with His Majesty, King Reign, or at least a trusted advisor. This marks the beginning of Jove's work directly for the crown, and thus, Reign's acknowledgment of a Knight who had remained in the shadows until present.

Objective: Jove must attend the meetings which the Royal Family has called for, and carry out their wishes. This includes learning more information about the Elvish settlement within Worth Woodsea, and participating in open dialogue with the Royal family.

Summary: Having been sent an invite to come to Crocus to meet the King, Jove will instead be mildly surprised to meet one of the Kings most trusted advisors. The advisor will have a series of questions for Jove, ranging from the state of the Rune Knights to Jove's perception of Fiore. Though clearly a test, the motivations remain unclear.

Others:
Albert: Albert, one of the King's most trusted advisors, is a mid-twenties male. He seems incredibly intelligent, analyzing every word and action of those around him. He makes sure to always look right at people while they're talking.

  • Meet with Albert, the King's Advisor
  • Speak with him and answer his questions honestly

Name: Proximity to the Trees

Summary: Having earned Albert's interest, Jove has been given a rather broad mission statement. Establish a relationship with the Elvish colony in Worth Woodsea. The reason for this is clear, but the method to accomplish it is unknown.

Others:
Inspector Nilan: Since his arrival at Orchidia, Nilan has been doing nothing but improving the relations between the community and law enforcement. He used to be an operator among the higher ranks in the rune knights. He quit the rune knights to spend more time with his sick wife, who died not much later. After rejoining the ranks, he was dispatched to Orchidia.

Objectives:
  • Arrive in Orchidia to begin the process of information gathering
  • Ask around about the Elvish colony within Worth Woodsea, only to be met with fear and anxiety from the townsfolk
  • The Inspector, Nilan, will call Jove to his office in order to request he leave so that he does not bring trouble to the town
  • Upon finding out Jove is a Rune Knight, he will open up about the slave trade and the bandits hunting the Elves. This includes the fact that neither Awali nor Ferdinand are involved in this trade, so Jove will not have to confront them in order to deal with it.
  • This slave trade will be split up into two groups; the bandits who hunt the elves, and the slave traders within Orchidia who buy them.

Summary: Jove has been given the address of the main hideout for the slave traders. It is heavily guarded, and likely full of captured elves at the present moment. Jove will have to somehow make his way to the slaves and free them, and considering he also needs to break up this organization, it seems clear how he will do that.

Enemies:

Slave Trading Goon x4: The Goon's are not powerful alone, but are always found in pairs. Engraved with curses which allow for telepathy which cannot be blocked, they are dangerous despite their power.

Jim Crow: Jim Crow is the leader of the Slave Traders. Usually surrounded by at least 4 goons, he is the brain and heart of the slave trade in Orchidia. Currently preparing to fend off the Orchidian underworld that existed before he arrived, he is impossible to catch off guard. He does not use magic, but makes up for that with power.

Objectives:
  • Jove will make his way to the bandit outpost, immediately being confronted by 2 goons outside of the building
  • The other 2 will be alerted as the first 2 are defeated, meeting Jove at the door to building or just inside in order to stop him.
  • Before Jove is able to defeat them, Jim will show up in order to use numbers to his advantage.
  • If Jove defeats them, he must go further into the facility with Jim's key and find the slaves.
  • The slaves will be grateful, but distant. One will inform Jove, upon Jove's questioning, that he must find a powerful and respected Elf to be his guide if he wishes to see the Elvish settlement.

Summary: Jove sent out the letter for support from the only Elf he knew. However, it seemed as though he would not be granted an easy time. The remainder of the slave traders, including Jim Crow's twin brother, are attacking Jove unexpectedly.

Slave Trading Goon x2: The Goon's are not powerful alone, but are always found in pairs. Engraved with curses which allow for telepathy which cannot be blocked, they are dangerous despite their power.

Jim Bob: Jim Bob is the second leader of the Slave Traders. Usually surrounded by at least 2 goons, he is the brawn and might of the slave trade in Orchidia. Filled with rage at his brother's death, he has hunted Jove down. He utilizes a form of powerful magnetic wave magic which allows him to best utilize his strength, but also to be quite interesting in his attacks.

Objectives:
  • Jove will be in his hotel, going over notes and waiting to hear back from Atani.
  • Without warning Jove will immediately notice an attack enter his sphere of sensory. He'll dodge, only to have the attack reroute itself and hit him.
  • Jove will be blown out of his hotel to see some similar faces.
  • Jove will be forced into the 3v1 fight against
  • Jove will have to defeat them while minimizing damage to the city, in order to not lose the heart of the locals. This will be the mental alert for Jove that things here need to change.
  • Upon beating the three, Jove will immediately send out another letter; this one to Rune Knight headquarters.


Name: A Friendly Face

Participants: Jove, Atani

Summary: At last, a response! Atani received Jove's letter and took him up on his request. Part of this was due to their friendship, something which was newly cultivated over the recent years. Another was the chance to aid the Elves of Fiore, something she knew that Jove would strive for if given this opportunity.

Others: Elf Settlement Leader (No stats needed, it will be a brief introduction and promises for future discussion while alongside Atani)

Enemies: Does the quest involve non-player enemies? If so, mention them here.

Example NPC: Include any relevant information of the NPC such as appearance, morals, philosphy, etc.

Objectives:
  • Quest begins as Atani arrives at the main road which leads into Worth Woodsea, where Jove is already waiting. The two can exchange pleasantries while they walk, as they immediately begin their trek through the forest.
  • Atani explains a bit about the Elves. Their past, their present, and possibly a bit about their future.
  • Jove and Atani make it to their destination; The Elvish Settlement. Jove is stripped of his scythe at the entrance, and they demand that he put on the magic cancelling handcuffs other Rune Knights.
  • As he goes to do so, Atani stops him. She assures him this was simply a test, one which was necessary given the Elves history with the Fiorian government.
  • Jove is now permitted to enter the settlement and receives a tour before meeting the Elvish leader.
  • The leader exchanges brief pleasantries with Jove, reminds him that Atani is the only reason they are speaking, but assures to meet with Jove again the next day to further discuss everything he was there for.


Name: Prove Yourself

Summary: Jove must take a special potion brewed within the Elf village. This potion, named ayahuasca, is a special psychedelic which contains great importance within the Elven culture. This potion, once made, is then infused with the mana of the one who will drink it, and once consumed, makes them fight the worst version of themselves. Only through victory can the person end the hallucination.

Enemies: Phantom Jove (All of Jove's magic, stats, and weapons)

Objectives:
  • Jove must go back to the Elvish Leader, who informs him that he must past the test of their people.
  • Jove is then given the potion, and instructed to channel half of his mana into the vial.
  • Once done, Jove consumes the liquid. It takes only a few moments to kick in, and once it does, he is put into a psychedelic trip.
  • Jove is confronted with images of his past, finally coming face to face with a version of himself which seems to be made of shadow. He is forced to confront it, and to defeat it, despite the fact that it has everything that he does- Including, it seems, knowledge of combat.
  • Once Jove defeats this image of himself, he is cast back into his body and is allowed to then talk to the Elves as an equal, thus fulfilling his duty.

Summary: Jove completed what he was sent to do, which was learning more about the Elvish settlement. At this point, Jove is contacted by Albert, who seemingly knew of the completion of this work before Jove could ever communicate him. This is due to Albert's magic- the same which allows him to communicate over vast distance like this. It is then that Albert fills Jove in on the fact that he has passed the test of the Crown, and is going to be watched closely from this point forward.

  • Jove is contacted by Albert.
  • It is quickly made clear that Albert was able to check in on Jove periodically, and congratulates Jove on a job well done.
  • It is mentioned that no other Rune Knight had been able to accomplish this task, and as such, Jove has passed the test of King Reign
  • Information is given that Fiore is changing, and with it, Reign was changing how to approach traditional problems.
  • This is not elaborated on even when pressed, and instead, Jove is informed that he will now be monitored closely by the Royal Family.
  • His reward for this task, aside from the monetary gain, is to have a custom item build for him by the Forge Smiths in Crocus, an honor indeed.
