Venus Rosé

Venus Rosé

Blade Dancer

Venus Rosé found the trades to be a mysteriously wonderful thing, where the system is carefully understood and accepted among the rest. But those with the most vile of intentions aren’t exempted from even the grandest of things, and while the trades delivered good deals, there were also humans who’d label themselves the weeds of the system, riding on the ideal jewel-gathering process known as an economy. The hunter edged her head one way, avoiding the passing look she garnered from a heftily bearded man when he caught her attention.

It was a cloudy afternoon, with no hint of charged sunlight but only a light drizzle upon the dead city. One would expect a market to be busy with a lively tempo while people flocked to places they were supposed to be, finding things they were supposed to do, but Dahlia was different. People here travelled hooded or cloaked, concealing their identity as though they were scared to be known and one young female with scarlet hair, bright as the blazing flames of the sun muddled through the crowd. Like everyone else, her features were hooded, her slender figure and equipment hidden behind a thick, dark cloak, not because she was scared of being found out, but because she wanted to remain ‘unknown’ for what she was about to do next.

Venus was a talented pickpocket and stealth had always been her forte, so why not put it to good use? For the duration that she wandered through the streets of the town that resembled a graveyard, she’d been eyeing those who passed by, finding the perfect victim for her hunt for gold. Women were usually her target because they tend to wear jewellery and she loved the ‘bling bling’; shiny, dazzling, beautiful masterpieces. They also rack up a good price, and even if she chose not to sell them, she could always opt to wear it on herself.

A sly smirk casted on her lips – the hunt begins. Her pocket had its full of accessories that she’d stolen earlier, but none of it could sum it up to the one she was seeing right before her eyes: a ruby bracelet. Her target was a young woman who seemed to be a part of an exceptionally wealthy family and for someone like her to be in a place like Dahlia; it was truly a wonder. No matter the reason, she didn’t care and only had her eyes on the ruby. The future-victim was busy deciding which peach to buy as she approached close to her and pretended to trip on her own boot and instinctively reached forward for support.

Venus would grab her arm, her hand landing over the jewellery, which was obviously planned, and lifted up her gaze to look at the woman apologetically. ”Oh, clumsy me. I’m so sorry.” Distracting her victim with her speech as they apologized back and forth, her fingers hastened to unhook the jewellery off her hand. She’d smile, picking up the peaches that she’d knocked over in the action and slid the newly attained piece into her pocket. The woman seemed dense enough to not notice that her accessory was already gone, she wondered how long it’d take for her to realize.

They call it theft, but she’d argue it’s ethical redistribution.

Cloudy storms dominated the sorrow sky in Dahlia that afternoon. Noel had been staying in Dahlia for a couple of days now. He'd have met races he'd previously thought their existence of as mythical legends; having met just about a singular Lich in his life, and maybe two vampires - he'd already seen ten times that amount just by crossing the street. Needless to say, this town attracts the attention of many bandits, it seems like some had formed into a bigger group and formed a collective. Whether this town was worthy of Daeva Eyes election was a feat that had yet to be proved. Economically, this town benefitted greatly from exporting imported goods. The middlemen were key here. The thief fences, the exotic wares merchant - they profiteered like no other. Noel had been wandering from place to place. At one point, he'd pick up on an interesting scent while at the market in Dahlia.

Noel noticed as of late that he'd been more keen in terms of smell. Maybe today was another one of those days to test out the true limits of his flaring nostrils? The male matched the clothing of his Dahlian peers, multiple parts of his armor in particular masking some parts of his identities. He wore heavy plating around his stomach, colored in white plates - he wanted to be noticed by those who sought the light. His legs were covered in heavy material too, thin black colored chain mail padded with feathers. His red oni helmet, covering most of his head. An amulet he'd have picked up not a long while ago, and a ring which was somewhat familiar to Venus.

Not like he was trying to hide who he was, nobody knew his face - and he'd this to use his advantage, dodging certain people he used to know - while keeping an eye on others. As he followed the lead of the scent, Noel was led into an alley way. A wrapper near a trashcan had the strongest notice of the scent. He'd bend over, grabbing the wrapper from the ground and flaring his nostrils over it. It was the scent of the gum that used to be in this package. Noel realized his derp, and stood up - wandering back into the market stalls, hoping nobody noticed him smell a candy wrapper. He specifically headed to the fruit stalls.

Another family scent wrinkled his nose, but he couldn't quite tell whether they were peaches, or someone more familiar to him. As he was inspecting some strawberries, he'd slightly shift his head towards the stall the emanating scent came from. As he was about to dismiss the thoughts, making eye contact with said peaches - a face crossed his eyes he hadn't easily forgotten.

It was Venus, this time when he concentrated his sense of smell, it somehow was confirmed within his mind. They were separated by perhaps ten meters from each other, giving Noel an intricate impression of the next scent he was to chase. A large smile appeared on his face, and as he turned to face the stall owner waiting for Noel to approve of the strawberries a deal had been struck. The merchant was quite confident, seeing Noels smile through his helm thought he was satisfied with the strawberries. He couldn't honestly care, and slapped some jewels on the table before turning back to Venus.

As the merchant grabbed the jewels, Noel put the bag of strawberries inside his armor, turning he around he realized he'd lost Venus out of his sight. She wasn't that far away though, he channeled his inner ki, focusing on his nose. Noel begun to follow the trail. Following the scent, Noel managed to follow Venus for quite a while. He'd keep his distance, but not completely remain hidden at all times, peeking over from walls occasionally. To others, he could easily be perceived as a stalker. Noel was just being nosey. He hadn't found quite the right stage to meet Venus again. As he observed her wandering into a somewhat open space, where it wasn't as crowded as before, he took it upon himself to play a cheeky prank on her. A confident smile appeared beneath his helm, moving to the center of the road with the woman who had enchanted him a while ago in front of him. He'd raise his voice, trying to catch her attention.

“Hey! I saw what you did, you're a thief!”

Noel didn't know, he just assumed - having noticed Venus bump into the woman at the stall. With his hands raised, Noel spoke to Venus from the distance of what seemed like twenty meters.

“Return those items, or I shall report you to the authorities, Venus!”

He'd imply, knowing she might simply chose to run off otherwise. Noel wasn't very familiar with the strength of Venus - he felt this moment to be an unbiased answer to his question of her strength. There was little chance he'd get recognized by her, maybe if he stood much closer and his scent could reach her. At least he's kicked the smoking habit since the change. Ready at any attack that may have been directed by Venus, Noel had already prepared himself to anticipate in such an event. If he was the first to take initiative, he'd pull his arm back, charging it with elemental affinities, after which he'd charge it forwards to his opponent - striking a beam capable of covering twenty meters of range. Upon impact with the magic seal designated under the feet of his beloved, the spell was bound to explode into an eight meter diameter. Noel wasn't going to underestimate Venus, she was probably packing some real heat too. With his kamehameha spell, he could try to show her that he was serious - and therefor call a serious reaction in response. Should the response of Venus be to charge head first into him regardless of his spell being activated properly or not, he'd react by trying to maintain his distance by moving backwards at lunging speed, until he had to come up with another plan to try and keep his distance, which was most likely going to be flight. Noel wasn't going to try to immediately end this, he wanted to draw out different parts of her arsenal. He'd try to introduce erratic behavior in his movement in order to keep her on her toes. Jet peeked from a wall from a distance, too afraid to enter due to him usually ending up burnt to ash.

”Hey! I saw what you did, you’re a thief!”

Venus was startled, she couldn’t lie; especially when she was in the middle of her deed, although she did her best to keep her composure and maintained a straight face despite her flaring anger within her to pretend she hadn’t heard anything. The person wouldn’t know who she was, she thought. Venus had collected a bounty of her own, some of it from missions while some of it could be from theft, but her reputation wasn’t as widely known to be easily recognized by people. The Siren took a quick glimpse of the man over the distance, his features hidden underneath all that armour. Whoever the stranger was, he was unquestionably succeeding in pissing her off.

The limit of her patience reached, as could be seen on her face in which a vein visibly popped onto her temple and the tightness around her mouth, the barely suppressed anger in her eyes. Thankfully, the woman that she’d stolen from had already scurried away so she wouldn’t have to worry about causing a scene and knocking her out to take the jewellery. Her companion, Blair, sat on her shoulders and sensing a sudden pulse of anger within her, the little creature would nip at her ears in an attempt to comfort her.

How could he have possibly known her name?

Nothing about him looked familiar to anyone she knew and with his visage hidden – that didn’t help either. But, that wasn’t important. Without any inexplicable reason, the man clad in armour initiated the first move by charging a beam in her direction that’d explode upon impact. Naturally, Venus wasn’t expecting a stranger to ambush her out of nowhere in the middle of the city, hence, she hardly had enough time to react to it. Her armour, on the other hand, being her most trusted shield aside from her Divinitas would absorb all the damage that was inflicted upon her.

The fact that this armoured stranger attempted to expose her and in fact, also attempted to have her killed angered her to no end that there was nothing but fury within her blazing crimson eyes. If it had been any more unrealistic, one would have seen fumes escaping from the top of her head. If he’d managed to provoke her, then surely he would also be prepared to deal with a hot-headed thief and she would find out the reason to everything behind this act, she hoped.

Venus would unsheathe her sword from its scabbard, its flames burning to life and during the midst of the action, she would break into a dash to reduce the distance between them by 5-meters. The scarf of her robes would act as her hands, taking the form of her fingers as she summoned shards of ice around her target, the magic seals emerging on all sides of his figure. With a clench of a fist (of the cloak), the ice fragments would collapse against his body, possibly crushing him in the process – if the attack had been successful.

Whether or not it landed, the hunter lunged forward in the direction of her target, with her sword directed down to her side, until she was certain that when she was close enough to him, she’d aim her blade against his chest-piece, in an attempt to perform a slash across his torso. She’d take a stance, withdrawing her sword close to her side and prepared herself to react to anything that would come next.

    Noel

    Noel Raion.

    Mago Oscuro @ Advent World

Noel initially wasn't given any response. Initiating this gave him a bad feeling, he'd make it up later to her - is what he excused himself with. His arm ignited a large beam upon her back, she wasn't ready for this strike at all. Noel squinted his eyes, as the destruction caused by his spell caused some dirt to lash over the area, following the explosion of his spell. She seemed unfazed by the spell, as if nothing had really changed. Noel begun to somewhat second doubt this decision, but was going to double down nonetheless. He certainly achieved one thing though, and that was seeing Venus mad. Hoping she'd forgive him for this, the male begun smiling under his helmet. A cheeky smile. She brought out a sword on fire, which was intimidating enough for Noel to take a mental note to do everything in his power to avoid getting struck by it. He felt guilty hitting her in the back, so he decided to wait on using his next couple of spells. Give her a chance too. If this was his enemy that he was fighting, he'd been stacking spells most likely. Instead, he waited for Venus to counter-attack.

With an almost instantaneous dash towards him, Noel was instantly on his feet - attempting to move in unison, but away. Corresponding with a backwards lunge, it was clear to him that he wasn't going to be faster than Venus. It didn't take him long to notice, as the gap began closing in more and more. As he was in the motion of raising his arm, Venus' cloak had concocted up a dangerous spell. A wide circle of magic appeared beneath his feet, Noel flicked his fist upwards as it appeared, ice coming from four sides rushed the point which he stood during the activation of the spell. Noel performed a back flip using the effects of his levitation spell, appearing to barely evade the ice. Since Noel wasn't caught up in the spell, the spell wasn't to ignite. Noel keenly inspected the effects of the spell while performing the entertaining back flip. While his eyes were on the spell, Venus was assumed to have continuously lunging towards his direction. She broke through her own spell, lunging at Noel who stood still for a moment, in previous awe of her spell - thinking that this ice magic was a complete opposite of her opposite firey attitude and passion. Snapping back to reality, Noel saw the tip of Venus' sword inch towards him, he'd rapidly activate a spell by the name of Self Exertion, pushing his upper body down by pulling on his collar downwards. The sword passed through his helm, just the top side - his head being avoided due to him pulling his body downwards, and in this same movement Noel concentrated his strength and channeled it into his right fist, unleashing it upon her - he'd try to angle his fist for a liver blow and unleash it in the same moment his helm got broken into two pieces. Noels face came to be revealed to Venus, which was unfamiliar to her at this point - but not for much longer, he reckoned.

His hair was a garbled mixture of black and gray, like a nightly storm. Gray from the sides, black on top. Instead of a rough beard, scars & wrinkles, his face was instead somewhat smooth and appeared to be shaved. Like a clean slate. His eyes were like a pair of glass marbles, glowing bright and clear as water. His nose, unbroken. He'd have lost some height and weight, which was understandable. Noel now stood at 6'4" tall instead of his former 6'7".

Feeling the blade inches away from giving him a haircut, Noel was practically laying on the ground, though he'd continue his sequence of movements after unleashing his right fist into her. The hand used for the self exertion, he'd use to activate another spell - pointing his fist upwards once more, while Noel was performing a matrix like movement, shot off the ground at lunging speeds. He'd try and make some distance between himself and Venus, flying high up into the sky. As high as his spell could allow him, Noel lowered his fist - causing him to levitate at that height. He'd comb his hair backwards using his fingers, sharply whistling at Venus. He didn't want to hide his location.

    “Phew, you're pretty strong huh!?”

He'd say, trying to enrage her once more before he position himself horizontal in the air, darting off towards a nearby forest. For his next act, Noel needed to be in a somewhat more isolated place. He'd hope Venus would chase him into the forest. These were black trees, barely providing any cover. Noel after a couple of seconds moved at maximum acceleration towards the forest, weaving in between trees as his right fist was pointed further into the forest. He'd stop once he arrived at a somewhat more open area within the forest, drizzles of rain had wet the area. Levitating eight meters above the ground, Noel awaited Venus to arrive. Had she arrived, he'd spare little time to activate his next spell; facing her was a challenge already proven by her previous lack of damage done by one of his stronger spells. Eight different objects from his surrounding space begun to light up, magnetizing towards Noel as they were enchanted by his gravity magic. To achieve this, both his hands were raised with open palm into the air. A small log, a large stick, a rotting plastic frisbee, two strawberries from his earlier purchase and three full trash bags, immediately cleaning the area. These objects were enhanced with D ranked strength, but to Noel, they served another purpose. The objects surrounded his body from a three meter distance.

”Tch,” she’d click her tongue against the roof of her mouth in frustration as her spell barely escaped within the grasp of her opponent. The slash of her flaming sword missed only ever so slightly as it sliced his helm in half from the sheer force of her strength. Her brows furrowed deeply into the center of her forehead, the expressions of her fiery eyes showcasing extreme irritation now that two of her attacks were missed. Her crimson hues followed the movement of his body and when he leant downwards, she’d have her cloak ready to respond albeit, Blair had acted out even faster than herself, gathering a small orb around their bodies as a shield to protect her owner from the punch that was aimed near her abdomen. Venus would have to spoil her with treats afterwards for doing

When the helm had removed itself from the stranger’s head, Venus would finally have a good look at his face, but none of his features triggered any memories within her. The red witch has had her fair share of being with men and women, and even if she didn’t remember any of their names or how exactly they looked like, she would still recognize their presence.

Was this stranger one of the men that she’d spent a night with and now he’s hunting her down because she stole his things? There were many reasons she could think of for why she was being chased, but regardless of the deeds she’d done – some which she weren’t proud of – the man was an asshole for attempting to lay his hands on her, she thought, fuming furiously to herself.

The Siren remained silent, merely observing at the men and chose not to respond to his provoking and to not voice any doubts or opinions she had as he leapt away from her, as though he was trying to bait her into some place that he would have an advantage over her. The woman frowned. Venus would be an idiot if she fell for a bait like that, but she still needed to find out who the person was, so she decided to risk the chance and followed his lead. Speed being her expertise, it wasn’t difficult to catch up to him and once she was drawn out to an open area of the woodland, she didn’t hesitate a moment to get into a sequence of actions to proceed onwards with her attacks.

The orb of shield lingered around her body and would protect her from any threat if they were to be thrown at her. She shot forwards, lunging into her opponent’s direction until she was at least 10 meters away from him with her sword still close to her side. Venus would come to a halt, using her weapon to control her momentum as she pierced it into the ground beneath her, upon reaching her desired spot. Flames erupted all around her, almost as if she was a devil from hell; a volcano that was spewing out lava. The fire flowed out into the edges of the forest, licking the branches and the leaves of the trees, setting them ablaze. Her opponent was serious in battling against her, Gods above for whatever reason, and in return, he would also receive a very serious side from hers.

    Noel

    Noel Raion.

    Mago Oscuro @ Advent World

When Noel attempted to land the hit on her kidney, a small orb appeared out of thin air, covering both Venus and her companion - who remained nearby her, enough so to cover her from his attacks with its orb. The orb was visibly dented, but not completely shattered yet. Noel hadn't any time further to respond upon this, so he instead started levitating outwards from this position, and away from Venus into the forest.

She acted upon it fairly quickly, and remained in pursuit of Noel who headed into the forest. Even though his speed was much slower than hers, the fact that he didn't have to cross through various obstacles (sharp corners, uneven paths and roads) she was keeping an even pace. Noel had his reasons for initiating this, he saw himself as a bandit. This was a test to see whether or not he could have Venus at his side while doing dangerous stuff. Up until this point, he knew little to nothing about her abilities. She was bound to be exposed to danger through his proximity; he needed to know how badly he'd need to protect her - turns out, if anything, perhaps she should be doing the one protecting.

As he weaved between the trees, with his sense of smell he'd notice Venus starting to close in. Once he had picked his suitable terrain of an open area, he'd halt to activate a spell making him able to levitate different objects. These objects remained within three meters of Noel, who was seen levitating in the air. Once Venus began to lunge in, he'd activate his grandest ability. He was dying to find out the extent of her abilities, and threw in his hat with the grandest trick up his sleeve he's collected so far. During her lunging, and after his prior spell activation, Noel clapped his hands. As his clap was formed, a grand magic seal surrounded the ground around Venus - a white benevolent shroud of magic came rising from the ground up. Noel didn't waste any time, heading into Venus as the spell came to its apex, dissipating in front of his eyes. A sudden shot of fire burst into Noel, shredding his armor, particles from it being broken and falling to the ground. From his face being exposed, his guild title had been activated to protect his face, some of the flames stuck to his face. Noel took little regard to that, rushing into Venus vertically from the air, ending up behind her while her sword as pierced in the ground beneath her. Quickly wrapping one arm of his around her body, with his fingers resting on the top her stomach, he'd whisper. “You're so powerful, Akai-chiruppu.”

Noel chuckled slightly, hoping Venus wasn't going to elbow him in the nose. “You still have my white tee-shirt.” He'd say, attempting to pull her closer to him, and planting a sweet kiss on her cheek. “It's me - I'm Noel.” When he'd try to gently let her go, and step backwards, he'd just hope he hadn't enraged her further. As he tried to beat the burning fire on one of his cheeks, he'd smile brightly at Venus. “I have something to explain.” He had multiple things to explain to her actually, namely his physical change & this random provocation. “Let me start by saying sorry for attacking you.” Assuming at this point Venus wasn't literally exploding from anger and attacking him, he'd continue talking. “I think something in me changed a few days ago. It made my sense of smell enhanced, and my body feel stronger. When this happened, my face changed next day I woke up.” He'd go on with talking, disregarding the burning flame on his cheek for now. “And why I attacked you was because... I'm a bandit Venus. I told you this a while ago, I'm not sure you remember. Being with me could have exposed you to danger.” Noel turned on his diplomatic side, there were more to his answers than was presented on the surface. “I wanted to know if you were someone I could depend on when push came to shove.” His blue haze was directed at her, trying to feel out her emotions. He'd still set forth, and raise his hands to hers, trying to hold them as he attempted to look into her eyes. “You are the milk to my cookie” He'd chuckle, and try to close in the space between them to land a romantic kiss on her lips, tilting his head to the side slightly.

The previous ignition of her spell had created a beautiful scene, transposing between the splintering wood that was lit and the rain. It was as if the duo was surrounded by a million fire flies, gently enclosing in on them.

Venus caught a glimpse of the man leaping right into the flames that poured out around her and for a moment, she wondered if he was in the right mind for doing so. The orb that surrounded her dissipated after protecting herself and her own companion from the flames that was casted by the Jeanne d’Arcs sword. Being the wielder of the sword has its own perks; one being immune to its abilities, although it didn’t exclude her from coming out of the fire unscathed. The remaining flickers of flames licked her cloak and her skin, and despite how it burned, it wasn’t something she couldn’t handle.

    ’You’re so powerful, Akai-churippu.’

There was only one man that she’d known who would call her by her nickname, as a token of affection perhaps. His touch on her body was familiar; the way he gently held her reminded her of the last time Noel embraced her. Venus spun to face the male, whose features were nothing more than a stranger’s to hers, until the sudden realisation struck her after she listened to his confession – it was Noel. When she’d finally registered his true identity, a deep frown made its way onto her lips almost instantaneously as her hand came right across his cheek. The slap was loud, although she didn’t smack him hard enough to leave a handprint on his pretty face. ”That’s for attacking me.”

Her lips immediately broke into a grin, she knew she couldn’t stay mad for long. She missed him; after all, the last time they saw each other was over a year ago without any possibility to contact each other. Venus did tell him she would find him before she left, but there were too many things to handle with the rise of their all-female guild and the night creatures roaming all over Dahlia, the timing was never right for her to find her beloved. It seemed that Noel had also been in a similar situation, if not, even more complicated than hers perhaps, after hearing his story of his transformation. ”No wonder I couldn’t recognize you,” a sigh escaped her lips as she leaned her head against his chest.

”You’re an idiot, you know. You could’ve been hurt,” chuckled the female and lifted her head to observe the features on his face as scarlet pools crossed over the gaze of blue, fused with colours of diversity; she found herself lost within those eyes. No doubt he looked younger and slightly leaner than before, but the calm yet, cool demeanour of his and the look in his eyes remained almost the same.

”You don’t have to worry about me, you know I can protect myself,” she’d smirk confidently, giving his hand a small squeeze as their fingers intertwined to reassure him. Heat rushed to her face, her cheeks burning hot from how he had described her importance to him as milk to his cookie. If that was the case, then he’d be the bacon to her eggs. She smiled to herself at the thought as he leaned in for a kiss that obliterated her. It was like coming home or being born or suddenly finding an entire half of herself that had been missing. His lips were hot and soft against her – still tentative, while she twined her arms around his neck.

The backdrop behind them almost seemed to put everything in place; the forest hums with life all around while the old, yellow and brown leaves hustled in the wind and the remnants of her fire spell had dispersed into tiny sparks of light as if they were fireflies dancing around them.

    Noel

    Noel Raion.

    Mago Oscuro @ Advent World

Noels heartbeat quickened in anticipation of her reaction. He'd bite his bottom lip slightly, showing subtle signs of nervousness on his face as his cold steel blue eyes met with her red hues. He raised no arm to block the incoming slap, Noel supposed he deserved as much. The place where he was slapped was slightly tingly, it made him smile a little. He could feel his heart sinking, the pressure rising. But when Venus started talking to him, he'd feel the pressure slowly draining. He held his breath until he could see her smile once more - that devious grin had been stuck on his mind for so long, it rekindled a candle within him that burned for Venus. “I deserve that.” He'd coyly say, his lips forming into a smile as he sighed out of relief. Venus was very forgiving to Noel - he made a mental note not to abuse this, and always be reasonable. What he did today wasn't that reasonable, so he felt guilty about having done it. She was obviously a nice person to him, and Noel didn't want to abuse the limitations of her niceness. So he felt inclined to show this aggressive niceness to Venus too some day - remembering not to get overly upset at Venus if she had done something of equivalent scale. He'd missed physical contact with her, as it has been a year since they last met.

Being confronted with duties from his guild left him little time off to wander the earth. The mere chance he had met her in Dahlia brought him great happiness. During his little time off from guild activities. There were so many stories Noel wanted to tell Venus - a mental backlog began forming itself within his mind. When Venus mentioned that she couldn't recognize the male, he was intently embracing her. Resting his head somewhat on hers, feeling the various inches of her bare skin with his fingertips. “Eheh, I was convinced you were already aware with my disposition towards the spontaneous. I make bold decisions in the heat of the moments.” He'd confess, a side of him that was more childish than the rest of his persona perhaps. His hands shifted to hers next, feeling a gentle squeeze from her fingers reminded him that this wasn't a dream. A slight flush of red tinted his cheeks - partially due to the ongoing fire on his cheek, and his feelings for Venus. Venus to him was like the subtle heat from a campfire accompanied with a cool chill breeze - cooler than the other side of the pillow.

As his lips connected with hers, Noel ensured he'd be facing Venus. Her gentle intimacy had bewitched him once more, when their lips met - a crescendo of endorphins unleashed within his brain, a flood of dopamine followed and washed his troubled mind clear like a warm wave embracing him. At the apex of the kiss, Noel broke himself off of Venus for a second. With a sultry voice, he'd confess his real feelings to Venus. “I love you, Venus.” Looking deeply into her eyes, he wanted her to know that he meant it. A moment later, he'd cautiously look around for a second - nobody his nose could pick up, or his eyes could see other than himself and Venus. They were deep into the forest. Since she had taken care of most of his armor, his furry winter cloak remained - as well as a green shirt, blue/black-ish pants remained as well. Noel took a step backwards, and threw his coat upon the tall grass, spreading it out slightly. He'd throw a quick glance at Venus, with his bedroom eyes. “Let's do this.” A sly smile appeared on his face, as he tore his shirt into two - revealing more of his muscled body to Venus. And shortly after, Noel was set on to initiate more intimacy and become one with Venus on a level that couldn't be described by words.

After the train had arrived its destination, and some time had passed, Noel was seen panting slightly - putting his clothing back on. “I've got a few days free from my guild, Advent World.” Even though he'd be very protective about his identity, something like his guild association was information he'd like sharing. “We're settled in Oak. It used to be Phantom Lords territory.” Noel continued on explaining. Inviting her hand as he wanted to hold hands. “Shall we go back into town? I'll take you out on a date, how about that?” Noel quickly began to mentally brainstorm about places he could bring her. Dahlia wasn't a very happy town. “Ooho, what about Warmwool Inn?” It was unknown to Noel whether or not this was already under Daeve Eye territory - potentially making their drinks free, and if not, he'd insist on paying this time. Taking her hand, Noel had intentions to go to the Warmwool Inn first, unless Venus had different plans. Noel wanted to learn more about Venus, his mind was interested and curious about her life, but could understand if she held back. As the duo presumably traveled, Noel enjoyed every moment being with her. He'd occasionally ask a question, such as, “What are your thoughts on Dahlia?” And questions such as, “Do you have any siblings, tulip?” He thought the nickname tulip was more befitting, it rolled more easily off his tongue as well.

Of course, Venus should’ve known that it was daredevil behaviour that brought them to this situation in the first place. The woman chuckled. The two were similar in nature – being attracted to the erratic disposition of one another – but in the complete opposite way that drew them together. She hadn’t found herself a man quite like Noel, nor one that matched her desire like him.

Venus winced inwardly when their lips parted and chewed her lip as she ran her hands over from his hands to his arms. She’d longed to touch him like this for so long – longer than she’d realized. She craved to touch him more at the very moment until he spoke those three words to her that astonished her to the very bones. The young female certainly hadn’t expected to hear those words from his mouth but when she’d locked his eyes on his, she would realise how serious he was.

Love was an unfamiliar topic to a fickle woman like herself, all her past encounters with men had been nothing but for whimsical reasons and she wasn’t one to take such matters seriously – that was until now. When Noel confessed, something fluttered in her stomach; a foreign feeling that she had not known of. Venus thought it was a bizarre sensation, but it wasn’t unpleasant, in fact, she liked it. Perhaps Noel had casted a spell on her, she felt like she’d been bewitched by the man and failed to realise that she’d fallen for him long ago but refused to admit it herself.

She didn’t know how long she stood there, but when she finally came out of her reverie, she’d pull him towards her, her mouth meeting his for a second kiss and after a moment, she pulled back far enough to look into his eyes. ”I love you too,” she whispered as their eyes made contact. The sudden confession and her realisation of her own feelings made her tremble with the need to touch him everywhere at once, to feel him touching her everywhere at once.

His eyes blazed with hunger that matched her own and she’d let out a wicked smirk when he tossed his coat onto the soil and revealed that ripped body of his. And then there was only them, in the middle of the forest, and skin against skin, where she’d let him do things to her body that made her forget her own name and when they reached that moment when there was nothing between them at all, she gave him everything she had.

    🌹 🌹 🌹

Once the deed was done, Venus felt like she was everywhere and nowhere all at once. Like she’d somehow been half-blind all her life and could see everything clearly. She almost whined when he let go of her long enough as she began to dress himself. And, she’d do the same. Upon the mention of the new guild, her eyebrows raised in curiosity, ”Oh, you already found yourself a new guild.” She was rather surprised, considering the recent disbandment of Lamia Scale, his previous guild, or so she was told.

”My home is here,” said the female, smiling to herself. ”Daeva Eye.” She felt content and proud for being able to find a place for herself, even being one of the founders of the guild in fact. Daeva Eye had been nothing but helpful for her and though she hasn’t had the opportunity to meet all of the members, the ones thus so far seemed like family to her.

She’d nod at her beloved, agreeing to travel back to the town: she didn’t want to stay in the forest any longer despite the wild experience she’d just had. ”A date it is,” grinned the Siren, already enthusiastic about the planned event. It’s been so long since they had their last date after all, which was also their first that ended abruptly due to their unattended matters.

”Let’s go, biscuit.” It was a nickname she’d thought over the top of her head, unsure whether Noel would react to it with distaste or not. Their journey to the destination was filled with idle chat that’d keep her thoughts occupied as they engaged in a much needed catch up session. ”Siblings, no,” she’d chuckle, hiding the hesitance within her eyes. Truth was, she hardly even knew where she was from, let alone the thought of having a sibling seemed outrageous, but not impossible. Although, if they were to show up in front of her suddenly, it would certainly throw her off the edge.

”I can’t wait to get out of here, that’s for a fact,” she sighed out of exasperation. Dahlia was a hellhole, she couldn’t deny. Even Venus herself didn’t enjoy staying, thus she had planned to leave the town for her future adventures as soon as possible. For a man who had been away from her for so long, he surely did have a lot questions for her, but so did she. ”What’ve you been doing so far? Tell me all about it.”

Noel felt Venus' words upon his heart. She shared this feeling of love. After their intimate moment had been shared, the duo was set to move to Warmwool Inn. Walking hand in hand with Venus, a casual conversation ensued. “Yes, we're already like a brotherhood. Much more than I've experienced in Lamia Scale. You should meet Kenzo sometime, or Vali - they're good people.” Noel went on to talk about some of his friends within his new guild. “How about you?” He'd ask, listening to Venus explain that she considered this to be her home. A slight brow was raised at the notion, he already went on assuming she was a member of Daeva Eye. There wasn't any other reason for her to be in this town otherwise, or so he'd thought. Venus did say she was a rogue type of mercenary before. Perhaps that had changed? Noel wanted to learn more about Venus, without intruding too much on information that may be sensitive. “What do you think of your experience with guild mates? You used to be rogue right?” Noel asked. Daeva Eye was a name that had been a blip on his radar previously. Namely due to one of their members, Kaiser Bo. “I met someone from Daeva Eye the other day, and this interaction was somewhat...” Noel paused for a second, stopping in his tracks and sighing. “Never mind actually.” The male spoke, continuing onwards while his fingers from his right hand were intertwined with fingers from his lovers left hand. A bit later, he'd go back to the topic as it was still on his mind after realizing that things may be cloudy between himself and some of his lovers guild mates. “What's your opinion on Kaiser?” He'd ask trying to put it delicately, curious for her response.

Was it in his interest to find out more about Venus in terms of alignments? Noel gave it some thought as the two moved together. He saw himself as a true neutral; willing to pick up the sword for anyone who pays the right amount. This was his initial vibe he got from Venus as well.

Noel was happy to learn that Venus wanted this date to happen too. On their way to Warmwool Inn, Noel was given a nickname by Biscuit. It made him smirk a little - liking the nickname Venus had picked out for him. It gave him an endearing feeling. Venus went on to explain that she had no siblings. “Ah, I got none either. My parents they used to be doctors. Retired now though. When I grew up, I watched them in their work and learned a few tricks.” Noel suavely smiled looking at Venus general direction, “So you may also call me Doctor Biscuit.”

As the duo headed into the bar, Noel made eye contact with the bartender. The Advent World wizard pointed two fingers up, followed by a hand symbol that resembled a mimic of a hand gesture telephone, but was actually a gesture for a drink instead, bringing the thumb to his lips and tilting the figurative glass. The bartender understood he wanted two beers. They were mainly for himself. “You anything, love?” Noel said, looking at Venus as he called her his lover for the first time in public. He'd mischievously bite his bottom lip a bit, before communicating a drink she'd enjoy with the barman - unless she had gone to the barman herself. This inn had maids, which meant to Noel that their drinks were brought to their table. While taking Venus hand, he led her to a table facing the window of the inn. The table had benches on both sides, Noel didn't have any preference, but would like sitting next to Venus if she didn't mind. The bar was crowded with some figures being shadier than others. Had he sat next to Venus, he'd chose the outwards portion facing the rest of the inn due to him wanting to be protective of Venus - despite her being much stronger in some regards. When she made a comment about wanting to get out of this place, he'd chuckle. “Hehe - you should come by Oak, I'll show you around town.” Noel was a bit excited to show her. After their drinks had come in, Noel downed the first beer in one go - chugged it, like it was tradition. Some of the golden liquid spilled down his shirt, something he hadn't any issues with when he was physically bigger.

When his lips were about to meet the second glass, he'd hear Venus talking and put his glass down. Listening to her asking a question instead. A question about interesting events that had lately stumbled upon him. He'd gently bring one hand over to Venus' face, moving the hair out of her face as he put his hand on her cheek, smoothly going over it with the palm of his hand. “We set up the Guild Hall a while ago. It's entrance isn't as intricate than yours though I must say. I've also met some strange folk - one of them was called Fantastico El Guavo. Can you believe that? She and a vagabond of outliers crashed a party we were throwing in Oak.” Noel looked into the distance a little, trying to recount other events. “I've also actually bathed in vampire blood. Nobody will believe me though.” He brought his hands back together, feeling somewhat insecure about telling people he did that due to the amount of people not believing him. Noel raised his glass of beer, making the gold liquid meet his lips as he slurped a big slug. He'd turn his attention back to his lover. “And you?”

”Maybe you can introduce them to me next time,” said the female as the couple walked with their fingers twined together. It felt good being this close to him once again, although she knew she shouldn’t get her hopes too high about them spending time longer, since she was aware both of them always had matters to attend to wherever they went. It seemed that Noel had even more questions about her, regarding her guild and herself – not that she minded – and it did make her wonder why he seemed so curious and the reason behind his rampage of questions.

”Well, they’re very lenient. Kaiser doesn’t care whether I’m a mercenary or not, as long it benefits her,” she’d say, lifting her shoulders into a small shrug. The mistress had given her the freedom to do whatever she’d wanted, that was of course only if she obeyed the rules of the guild, which she found no trouble abiding. Daeva Eye provided the perfect environment that she wanted; a place without controlling authority or being oppressive that’d make her feel restricted, so she reckoned her stay in the guild would be longer, if not, permanent.

Venus was surprised to know that Noel had already met someone else from her guild, she didn’t expect it to occur so soon, but when he refused to share any further of his experience, she’d scowl and pull his arm to slow him down in his tracks. ”What?” If he was hiding something from her, it would only make her even more curious about what he had to say. Nonetheless, they continued to walk towards the Warmwool Inn. She wouldn’t pester him any further if he was hesitant to share despite how her level of interest on the topic remained piqued to its maximum.

”Oh,” she started, a pregnant pause stopping the flow of conversation as uncertainty washed over her. ”You’ve already met Kaiser.” There was a hint of dispirit in the tone of her voice, not because Noel had met her mistress without her, but because she was apprehensive about what Kaiser might think about the relationship between the two of them. Venus had failed to bring the topic into discussion to her guild mistress in spite of the numerous chances she’s had, anxious that Kaiser might disapprove of her choices. After all, she only thought about what was best for the guild. Regardless of it, the Daeva Eye wizard still owed a lot to her mistress.

”Kaiser saved my life,” she began. ”She found me in the middle of the streets and actually brought me back to life. Gave me a home and then a name because I couldn’t recall any memories.” The incident happened over a year ago, but the memory was still fresh on her mind as if it just happened a day ago – she would never forget this, she swore. She felt as though she just shared a vulnerable side of hers to her lover, which was the last thing she wanted to do; she never wanted him to look at her with pity, the eyes that she hated the most. ”What’s your opinions on Kaiser?”

The woman chuckled when Noel joked about calling him ‘Doctor Biscuit’: an adorable attempt, but she would stick with the endearing nickname she’d come up for him. ”Ah, I think I’ll just have a mug of ale,” she’d nod at the bartender and propped her chin up onto her palm as she gazed at the man sat beside her while waiting for their drinks. It was rather apparent that the two beers would be for himself, she’d known he was a heavy drinker after all. Venus, on the other hand, preferred to enjoy her drinks over a long duration of time. ”That’s my plan. Since you came all the way down to Dahlia, I suppose I should also pay you a visit soon.” She simply hoped she would have long enough for a vacation to travel up to wherever he was once the guild business was settled. The woman sighed, it was only then she noticed being a Fiorian wizard was more complicated than she’d expected, but it always kept her occupied and free from dying of boredom, so that was a plus. ”Maybe you can show me around your guild?”

It seemed that Noel already had paid a visit to the headquarters of Daeva Eye, possibly to meet Kaiser and she was very eager to hear about his thoughts. ”What’d you think of our guild hall?" she’d ask, a grin spreading across her lips. The structure was built to suit the tastes of young women, in other words very feminine, so Noel being a thorough man in and out, it was possible he found uncomfortable being there.

”Vampire blood?” Her eyes widened. If Kaiser were to know this information, she would have Venus stop all communication with this man. ”And, should I believe you?” she teased playfully, taking a sip out of her mug once they were delivered. ”How did that even happen? The night creatures are…another thing, but that seems very vile.” She laughed, although she couldn’t argue that it wasn’t the same for her: with the werewolves causing too much trouble in Dahlia, she wanted to bathe herself in their blood as well.

When Noel brushed her hand against his cheek, she’d find herself involuntarily leaning into his hand. It was funny how she began to realise that the more she was with this man, the more she craved the affection that she almost felt like a different person. ”I travelled to Worth Wooodsea a while ago, got myself a little transformation,” she’d wink with the eye that she had replaced. ”We’ve been trying to get control of Dahlia, so I’ve been mainly helping with that, and dealing with lots of werewolves and vampires.” She rolled her eyes. ”What’re you plans after this? Are you travelling home?”

Introducing Venus to Kenzo and the lot seemed quite fun. He'd wonder how their interaction was to unfold. When Noel asked a question about Daeva Eye, Venus responded and mentioned Kaiser. A name he's already met. Was she the guild master? From her tone, it seemed like she was the one calling the shots. It seems like Venus was slightly cautious of him having met Kaiser, he could tell by her voice. “Yes - I don't think I've mentioned my first name though. She'll most likely know me by Raion, my surname. What is yours?” Noel said, trying to deflect the conversation. But alas the conversation headed back to the same topic. Venus explained how she was saved by Kaiser. Which started a mental conflict within Noel. This Kaiser person - someone he's accused of committing atrocities, she's the type to also save people? “Hnnnm, Joyan accent. Hazelnut hair and blue eyes?” Noel thought he should just confirm. “Yeah, I've met her.”

Some true neutral chaos reigned within Daeva Eye, he'd think. While not having suffered from memory loss directly, Noel knew a few people who'd he lose touch with over it in the past. He'd wonder if she ever saw memories of the past, but didn't wanna intrude too much so he kept those questions to himself instead. “That's actually very amazing of her. Seems like I should've given her more respect.” Noel said, being asked for his opinion about her next. “Cunning, like a sly fox. Thinks greatly of herself, has a psychopathic side - but also a philanthropic one. Clinically I think she's approved for a god complex.” Those were his observations, but not his thoughts. Venus would have to pry a little harder if she truly wanted to hear his opinions.

On that note, Noel entered the bar with Venus at his side. She'd order an ale, something he'd remember for the next time. While not making it seem like it, Noel could be quite attentive to details. Once seated with Venus, they'd continue to talk. Noel would love for Venus to visit his town someday. He'd reply to her with a bright smile and a nod at the mention of her visiting. “Yes, I'd love that. I assume nobody has any qualms with it, but I'll check to make sure and let you know via letter or by face-time.” The thought of spending time with Venus in his guild hall made him a bit more excited than he should've been. Noel took a sip of his beer, and excused himself to the mensroom for a moment.

The bar was quite big. The floors were mostly made from hardwood, varnished and polished. The furniture was of decent quality as well. At least the entire town wasn't a shit hole, this bar was pretty decent. On his way to the mens room, Noel passed by a puff of cigarette smoke. Inhaling it through contact, he'd cringe slightly at the scent. When he returned, he'd sit next to Venus, he'd have brought another ale and a beer to their table. She asked a question about their guild hall. “Mmm, a creature named Wabbit opened the door and led me in. They forced me to shed my gear outside, put on a blindfold and get in a coffin.” Noel said, silently judging Venus as he took a sip of his new beer. “The interiors too much for me to handle. I was trying to give a performance worthy of several prizes to Kaiser - but the furniture was just...” Noel had a slight flashback, imagery he'd relive was thickly painted in a tint of lilac. It was the pillows, the god damn mini pillows. The over comfortable rug, the different succulents and aroma diffusers made it too much for him to remain sane. “Haha yeah that didn't go well.” Noel snapped out of his flashback, turning his attention back to Venus. “So a while back a coven of vampires had entrapped me. They made me fight their thralls while the coven leader watched. She eventually fled. I'm still sort of looking for her, her name is Artemis. Long blonde hair and red glowing eyes. A bit taller than you.” He'd say to increase his credibility, maybe she also had a clue for him.

It seems like Venus had got an enhancement, he'd intently look at her modified eye, tilting his head slightly as his curiosity grew to its abilities. It looked somewhat demonic, but the tints of her soul still shined through them. “What does it do?” He'd ask, before Venus went on explaining what she was doing within her guild. “Sounds you got something to keep you busy. Yes, they need me at home again. We could get a few drinks more before I have to leave.” He'd raise Venus hand to his face, kissing the top while cutely looking into her eyes. “I like being with you.” Noel enjoyed all things in life in moderation - he had a duty to perform back at home, and respected the responsibility that came with it. He'd scoot a slight bit closer to Venus, and bring his head towards hers - bending his back slightly so he could peck her on the lips. “I'm thinking about getting a Mustang.” Noel said, leaning back into the bench and looking at the bench across the table. “I'm going to tame a horse, learning how to ride it and then inviting you to a horse ride. I'll get a saddle big enough for the both of us.” Noel said, cheekily filling the void of his soul with a mount mentally. “I might get a leather poncho and a sombrero.” He was joking, but very sarcastically - looking at Venus if she picked up on it.

”Rosé,” she’d answer, regarding to the question of her last name. Venus would even emphasize on the accent for clarification. ”Pronounced as Ro-sei.” It seemed that Noel had tried to dodge her question albeit, not for long and they would fall back to the same topic that was discussed a moment ago. So, he did meet her guild mistress after all; she wondered what Kaiser thought of him and decided that she would question her opinions at a later time when she had the chance. She merely hoped Noel hadn’t caused any scenes in front of the mistress that would create any unpleasantries when Venus decides to confront Kaiser about their relationship.

The words that Noel used to describe her mistress were rather fitting for her personality, she figured, though she has seen more than just the selfish yet, dedicated side of hers. Perhaps it was due to her being a guild mistress that would require her to be alert and strict at all times, which was most likely why Noel found her devious. Regarding her psychopathic side – she wouldn’t have a comment for that, or rather, chose not to. Surely, she would have her own reasons, which Venus refused to pry further or even cared for.

”Hm, Wabbit,” she spoke as if she was well-informed of what he was talking about, her eyebrows arched to hide the fact that she was clueless. She’d assume Wabbit was one of the guards of their guildhall: such information was so trivial to her that she had found no significance in remembering it. Nonetheless, it seemed that Kaiser gave it her all to maintain the security of their premises. ”A coffin!” she chortled, trying not to burst out into laughter. That was the first time she’s heard of a visitor being treated in such a way, although they rarely even have visitors to begin with anyhow. ”That’s sounds like it was quite an experience for you.”

Venus chuckled at his comment about their interiors. It was predictable that Noel wouldn’t enjoy being in the atmosphere of their guild: she could see the reason for it being too feminine for his taste, although her bedroom was nothing unlike the general design of the guild. She’d take another sip of her ale only finish the second mug as she pondered about the vampire, Artemis, that he’d mentioned. She hardly had any knowledge about vampires, so she highly doubted she could even help him while Kaiser, on the other hand, could possibly figure out some clues.

”That’s a secret,” she grinned wickedly, when Noel questioned her about the abilities of the modification of her eye. Her eyes would light up excitedly upon the mention of horse rides. ”We can ride our horses together for a race perhaps, but I would love definitely love to ride your ‘Mustang’,” she chuckled as she randomly conjured some scenarios that came along with it. ”Please don’t embarrass me with a poncho,” she’d add, frowning deeply though jokingly and played along with his sarcasm.

Venus let out a long melancholy sigh, merely thinking about how they would have to part ways soon, without knowing when they would meet again. She’d savour his caress against her hand for a moment longer, she thought, leaning her face into the nook of his neck. ”I hope I get to see you again soon,” said the female, before adding, ”Send me a letter, I’ll come find you – for sure.” She promised as she planted a soft kiss against the corner of his lips. Soon, they would have to part ways and she would have to get ready for her upcoming travel to the neighbouring city, Magnolia. At the very least, the good thing was that she was finally getting out of Dahlia – a hellhole but also a place of her new home.

    Noel

    Noel Raion.

    Mago Oscuro @ Advent World

Noel learned her last name. Something he'd keep in mind. He didn't immediately repeated it, but let it marinate in his mind instead - as Venus explained how to pronounce it, he'd try to. “Roeh-say. Hooh-sei. Rose-sei. Roh-sei.” As much as he tried pronouncing it, he didn't feel confident in saying it properly.

This situation with Kaiser and Venus being in the same guild might create some friction - especially considering that Kaiser might be one of the higher echelons along with Venus. She was powerful, he'd had seen that today. Without having properly touched the full extent of her power, it was more than enough for him to notice the raw power that resided inside of Venus. This somewhat meant that he'd rarely have to worry about her getting into trouble. Venus was somewhat aware with Wabbits way of working with people. She laughed when he had mentioned the coffin. Noel shook his head slightly. “That kusojiji dropped the coffin on the way to the meeting room.” Noel was passive aggressively angry at Daeva Eye after that had transpired. Noel looked away for a second, reminiscing on the times he was there like a flashback from a war torn veteran. “I was out of my element to say the least.” He'd reply, leaving it at that for the time being.

Once in the bar, Venus was being somewhat illusive about her new ability related to one of her eyes. It seemed to be augmented with something exotic, Noel couldn't quite tell but he'd leave it at that. Noel was happy to see her being interested in horse rides, Noel definitely wanted this to be something they should do one time. A subtle innuendo followed from her lips, making Noel chuckle in response. “Without the poncho, the bravado of a man on a horse diminishes. This is going to be a thing, tulip, you won't be able to stop it.” He'd laugh to himself, endearing the picture of himself on a horse wearing said poncho. As a bar maid passed by their table, he'd order a beer and an ale for Venus. She'd return not a while later with said drinks and a bowl of nuts. Noel was shocked by the hospitality, and ate some of the nuts. Noel had to get going soon though, ending the casual and spontaneous date. He'd feel the same as Venus, wanting to see her soon again. He'd put his hand on her head, and gently stroke her hair - using his hand as a comb. “I hope so too, tulip. And I shall, most certainly.” Hugging her before the duo departed from the bar, Noel begun to head to the edges of the town. Picking up a cowboy hat from one of the stalls once he'd been moving away from Venus and putting it on, before moving towards the sun setting across the horizon.
