Hakai

Hakai's journey to Stella was driven by a deep curiosity and a desire to experience the festival of the dead. The tales of the grand Tzacualli jungle had long piqued his interest, a vast wilderness teeming with untold riches. It was a land inhabited by fierce dinosaurs, where the imposing Tzacualli temple, dedicated to the God of the Sun and Skies, Quetzalcoatl, stood as the main landmark. Hakai hoped to uncover something unique and valuable in this enigmatic place.

As he ventured through the treacherous path of the jungle, Hakai navigated the dangers that lurked in the shadows, aware that one wrong step could lead to his demise. His journey led him to a certain temple within the dense foliage, but his progress came to an abrupt halt when a resounding voice echoed through the ancient ruins.

"Halt."

Hakai's senses snapped to attention, and he realized he was not alone. Several young and old individuals had gathered around the temple, and a figure dressed in the local garments loomed above them all, looking down from the temple's heights.

"Are you here to seek an audience with the almighty Tezcatlipoca?" the figure asked, their voice carrying an air of authority. "How dare you present yourself in front of our God, Tezcatlipoca, without bringing anything with you?"

Hakai's shock was palpable, for he had not expected this unexpected turn of events. He had ventured into the jungle with a sense of exploration and intrigue, never anticipating the demand to present an offering before the deity. His mind raced as he considered his next move, hoping to find a solution that would grant him access to the mysteries of the ancient temple and perhaps even the riches he sought.

Hakai

In the ancient temple's outer grounds, Hakai's mind raced as he sought a way out of the troubling predicament that had befallen him.

"Kneel!"

The figure, emanating an overwhelming presence, commanded him to kneel, and Hakai's strong will could not defy the force that encompassed the entire area. His knees yielded, and he knelt to the ground, his teeth gritted in frustration. "Such a strong presence," he muttered under his breath, acknowledging the power that dominated the area. Whispers of shadowy figures from the centre of the temple drew the figure's attention, "As you wish, my Lord" and with a simple command, he retracted his imposing aura, relieving the intense pressure.

The figure's voice filled the chamber as he addressed the gathered humans. "Humble and puny humans! With the mercy of our God, you've been given the chance to amuse him. If you all are unable to satisfy his taste, only the fall of your head will then suffice!"

Hakai's fists clenched in anger at the threat, his mind racing to find a solution to this unforeseen predicament. Would his journey end in this humbling manner? He had come to the area for the festival, but now he found himself in the presence of something far greater.

"You! White hair! You first!" When the figure pointed him out, ordering him to go first, Hakai raised his hands in reluctant compliance, clicking his tongue in resignation as he thought, "I'm as good as dead."

Hakai

Hakai had mentally prepared himself for any situation when he found himself standing in front of the presence of the gods, but nothing could have prepared him for the sudden and impending danger that his instincts picked up on. An adrenaline rush surged through his veins, and his senses tingled with a warning. A surprise attack was imminent, and he felt the impending threat closing in.

"Grrhk," Hakai grunted in dismay as the unseen figure unleashed a devastating assault. The force and pressure of the attack were overwhelming, threatening to overpower him. In a split-second decision, he clapped his hands together, summoning the power of the wind to form a protective barrier around his body – the Zephyr's armor, a spell he had honed as a wind dragon slayer. Despite his defensive efforts, the attack proved too formidable, and Hakai was forcefully thrown backward.

With blood streaming down his nose and mouth, Hakai managed to regain his footing, shocked by the sheer power of the unseen assailant. "Not bad. But that was only a bit of dust of my power!" the figure taunted. Hakai's surprise was evident – if that had been just a fraction of the attacker's strength, he realized he was facing an adversary of formidable might.

Hakai's determined gaze remained fixed on the temple's rooftop, where the hidden figure had launched a precise and injurious attack. Despite not being visible to the naked eye, the figure displayed extraordinary accuracy, which made Hakai's situation all the more challenging. Another assault in the form of a powerful wind surged toward him, a challenge to determine whose control over the element was superior.

With a bloodied smile on his lips, Hakai opened his mouth wide, fully aware that he was in his element, quite literally. Yet, as the attack approached, he realized that he wouldn't be able to rely on his innate ability to consume the wind to regain his strength. Quick thinking and reflexes kicked in, and Hakai stomped the ground, his knees bending as wind coiled around his legs. With a burst of speed, he dodged the oncoming assault, shifting to the left just in time to evade the sharp winds that left deep gashes in the ground where he had been standing.

Realizing that victory might be out of reach through conventional means, Hakai's mind went blank for a moment as he resorted to a last-ditch effort. With a focused will, he unleashed an area-of-effect attack, conjuring storms of tornadoes that materialized above the temple. This was his most formidable technique, a demonstration of his mastery over the element of wind, and he hoped it would be enough to turn the tide in his favor.

Hakai's hope was quickly extinguished as he watched his formidable tornadoes dissipate, leaving the temple unscathed. It became evident that the figure he faced was far more potent and otherworldly than he had initially thought. The realization that his opponent was beyond the realm of conventional strength washed over him, and he couldn't help but feel helpless in the face of such overwhelming power.

The figure's screeching laughter resonated, shaking the very core of those who witnessed the spectacle. "Hahahaha! You think such a mere attack can hurt me?! You foolish!" The figure's anger was palpable, as if he considered Hakai's actions to be that of a puny ant attempting to challenge a dragon. Though it seemed another attack was imminent, the figure relented when he met Hakai's unwavering, fierce gaze. With a cryptic parting remark, he withdrew the impending attack, saying, "Not bad. I want to see you grow stronger. I want you to fight me again when it's time." As Hakai dropped to the ground, relief washing over him, he couldn't help but grit his teeth in anger and dissatisfaction, determined to gain the immense power that had eluded him. This encounter served as a stark reminder of his own limitations and motivated him to strive for greater strength in the future. With this event, Hakai made out of the area limping, never turning his head back towards the temple to see the place of his defeat but his heart was burning with ambition and revenge.
