Another day walking about within the world, another page to be written. Jikan walked through her home. The town she found herself living in over the last several years and where she had seen her guild, Sleeping Calamity, grow. It was yet another calm day in the town. A bit quiet, and thus Jikan had to figure out what to do. Exiting the guild building alongside with her exceed Mia, Jikan walked towards one of the large trees breathing within the territory of the guild’s ground. On most days she found herself staying busy, managing the big thing as well as the smaller day to day details that occurred within her guild, in addition to the random matters of Orchidia that she was asked to lend her aid in.

By now after these years, everyone was accustomed to her being out and about in the town. To Jikan, the guild, and the people within it.

Helping with tasks or issues in the town as well. Safe to say it was something that kept her busy more often than not. Travel was a rare thing, just moving to the different regions of the north was enough work. Having to find time and a real motivation to go somewhere else that she could do, besides taking shoer vacations on islands in the sea or to see a friend in a different part of Fiore. Was becoming less and less of a common thing for her. So was the life of a guild master she supposed.

But she was more than a guild master. She was a person at the end of the day. And, a mother. And as she walked to one of the large trees outside of their guild. Her eyes came upon two of her adopted children; Klein and Amira. The two were sitting on their favorite tree, relaxing and enjoying the weather it seemed.

Mia patted by, walking up and hopping into Amira’s lap with a smile and soft pur. The two young teens gazed at the familiar cat exceed and began to look up. Expecting their mother Jikan to be nearby. And so she was. A soft smile came from her face as she saw both of their faces. The two smiled as well, giving their mother a soft wave.

“Good morning you two. Out once again under the sun?”, Jikan as she finished walking up to Amira, Klein, and Mia.

“And the smell of the grass”, Klein said with a smile as he gazed at Jikan. His head tilt up to see her.

Amira's left hand went down, her fingers coming combing through Mia’s head. Brushing the top of their fur as the cat exceed let out soft purs. “And. A very cute cat now”. She said with a soft smile of her own.

"Pur....pur...pur. Hehehehe. Awww thank you Amira".

“Oh is that so? Then I hope it is not a bother if I request you twos company today”, Jikan said walking up a little closer to everyone. Her red hair laying flat and loose against her back.

“Hmm?”, sounded Amira as she continued to scratch Mia.

“What for??”, asked Klein a bit curious.

“I was going to go into town and see if there were any tasks the town needed help with, or any missions posted that the guild could take. I would like you two to come as well, either taking different tasks or coming along with the one I choose”, Jikan said softly. Her face gentle and relaxed as she spoke.

Amira and Klein both shrugged, looking a bit indifferent. In a loose tone both of them said sure. Not minding the request but not jumping for joy either. Jikan nodded her head, a bit happy with their responses. And as the two shifted their bodies to stand on their feet. The four of them went on their way into two. Mia being held up on Klein’s shoulder now as the werewolf demi human rubbed the exceed’s chin occasionally.

Now that Jikan was on the move she had to find something now. The day was free and unoccupied with things. Moving with two of her children, the first step of the matter would require her to try to find an appropriate request for them. Most likely not one that would be challenging, but perhaps one that would make a decent amount of money at least. That was always a goal, but today, Jikan’s aim was determined to be something more immaterial. She just wanted to spend some time with Klein, Amira, and Mia. The recent wave of destruction to the area of Orchidia by the mysterious giants caused repairs to be made. A few places Jikan had already fixed needed to be worked. The only bright side of it was the fact some of the old and run down places were also destroyed. This gave Jikan the opportunity to rebuild these places, but that. Would take money. And a lot of it.

And on this, even if time with her family was her main goal. She intended and fully expected to make some money on this day. Losses had been made, resources repaired, and she would continue lending aid to her town even if she had to lose an arm to do it.

Jikan thought of this as she walked with Klein, Amira, and Mia. Along the way she saw an unfamiliar person who entered one of the areas where the guild handled requests. Jikan was a bit surprised to not immediately know the individual. As she approached she was even more surprised that it did not eventually click. She did not know everyone in Orchidia like the back of her hand. But she expected to have at least thought that she had seen their face before. Alas, they seemed to know her. As they directly approached Jikan upon seeing her.

The figure said with a bow. A gray tuxedo and white hat on top of their head. Jikans eyes quickly went to the man as well as Klein’s, Amira’s, and Mia's. As the figure straightened themselves and cleared their voice. They saw that it was a man speaking to Jikan. The group turned away from the numerous posted quests requests on the board. "Yes? Well. Let's hear it out then". Jikan said, her cool green blue eyes resting on the man's face.

The man nodded his head, and began to speak. "Well my fair madam", he said a bit energetically and made a fancy slur of his words. His face looked somewhat excited to be allowed to speak his idea. "All is known of your and your guild’s hard work in finishing this little town up for the last few years. Sadly, it seemed those beasts undid some of that work. But. When there is destruction, there is also an open place for creation!!".

Jikan eyed the man with a blank stare. Not one made to be intimidating. But one out of apathy. She knew this already and it was not something that needed to be stated. If he wanted an opening pitch he needed to work better.

"Many places to rebuild madam Jikan. And I, am on the behalf of a fellow that wishes to do such a thing. A sponsor if you will. They wish to rebuild one of the churches destroyed and reestablish it for the faith of Illumin", the man said with a tap of his foot and a twirl of the black cane in his hand. The head of the cane being in the shape of a Ram.

Jikan was by no means a religious person; not worship a God, Gods, Demon, or Demons. Hardly even a spiritual person beyond conversations and concepts. But. She knew of the impact such beliefs and reality had on individual people. And the role the church located within Orchidia played for its citizens. The religious diversity had increased with the inflow of civilians, but the forefront majority of Illumin followers stayed the same.

You would have nothing to worry about", Jikan spoke, Klei, with Mia on his left shoulder, and Amira all standing behind her at her sides.

“Ah yes. That may be true, but formality is a thing for my client. As respected you are in the town and your…influence. They figured it would be due diligence to at least tell you about it, and hopefully get your approval. The boon of citizens can only do so much on important project after all”.

Jikan simply looked on, taking the man’s word and internalizing it. They did not know how Jikan would react, and thus wanted to try and communicate to create the safest path. Business minded. A logical move. She nodded, finding it simple and understandable.

Either way, madam. There are things to do with the clean up and reconstruction of the church. In the small pieces of the once large beauty, there seems to be an annoying pest situation. Most reports have sighted the creatures there as rats. There have also been some word spreading that there are other creatures showing up as well. Either hunting the rats or fighting for territory for some reason. Regardless, it is a real mess, chaotic truly".

"And thus, you want me to remove these pets".

"Yes yes that is correct. You will be paid for your efforts of course, and a lot. For there are many to deal with and there are other creatures to handle".

Jikan turned her head back. "Amira. Klein. How about it?", she asked towards her children.

The two of them and even Mia paused looking at each other for a moment. Mia wagged her tail slowly, Klein scratched under his chin using his left hand, and Amira shifted her eyes up to the right corner. Giving thought.

“Ya know what. Sure. I will come along for that”, Amira said, shifting her eyes back down with a nod of her head. Her silver short hair slid slightly as she did so.

Klein nodded his head. And Mia lifted her right paw into the air as if to give a fist pump. “Alright, count me in too".

Mia stuck her tail out before speaking. “And you know I am going. Two sides of a fish, where Ji go I go!!’.

Hearing this Jikan adjusted her gaze, turning her head from her…family, towards the ambassador of the business proposition. “Well. Looks like it is a deal. We will take up this job for you and your boss”.

“Excellent, excellent. Thank you thank you madam. Ah, and you three as well. I will make sure to show you my thanks as well. I have no doubt it will get done. Big things. Oh I expect big things for when this is done”.

The man tiped his hat, taking it off before reaching inside. A smile on his face he took something out. “Waaaalllaaa”, he said flipping out a sheet of paper. “Here we go everyone. The mission details and the path to the church in case you need it. Oh, and a few notes as well, some things my sponsor wants taken care of in case they come up”.

Jikan reached her hand out to take a hold of the list. “Okay. I hope your boss knows that the price goes up with these additional tasks. A normal job equals the normal reward. But bonus gets bonus. A job has to match the reward after all”, she said looking the man in his eyes

“Ah, of course, of course! Do not worry. The pay will be well worth all of yours and everyone else’s effort. I assure you that”.

Jikan nodded her head, based on her experience, she knew the reward would still be decent. Otherwise, it would be impossible to get anyone to deal with all of those pests. Even if it was for a church. Although, the extra details made her think that maybe she needed to up the cost.

Either way, she and the others were on the way now. At least it was in a church. Not the smelly sewer or the overwhelming stuffed within broken down houses or buildings. Compared to those possibilities, handling an extermination within the compounds of a church ground was a lot manageable. Most likely. It was only more land to deal with and, if there were so many that it became an issue such as the extent that was talked about. It would not be hard at all to spot or locate these creatures.

Jikan turned, walking out of the area she was in, Klein and Amira at her side with Mia being held on one of Klein’s shoulders. Jikan held the piece of paper in her hand casually, talking to them as they finished their travel. No one in the group was really talkative…well…besides Mia, as the exceed knew everyone fairly well and thus was a lot more comfortable being sociable. Idle chatter was in their course and finished upon arrival to the church’s compound, one that Jikan was actually familiar with.
