Keita was currently on his way to meet Gundar over at a transportation station that had a carriage sitting there waiting for the two of them to head to the Castle Phantasm. There was apparently a huge party going on, and Odin had invited everyone there from all over. There was going to be plenty of food and some fights to watch, as well as some rooms that were available to simply relax in. The celebration was apparently going to be going on for an entire week straight, but Keita was attempting to get as strong as possible as fast as possible, so he was simply going there to blow off steam and get some really good food for free. Also, who knows? Maybe there would be people there that would spar that could give Keita some inspiration on his own style of fighting. He was also interested in studying other peoples’ magics.

Gundar was on his way to castle Phantasm since he heard there was some festivities going on there and almost everybody was invited. He had been expecting to meet Keita at some transportation station so they could just go together and see what all the fuss was about. He had hoped there would be some good alcohol or something along those lines as well as some food. He wasn't sure what else he had to look forward to but free food and drink was enough to get this dwarf almost anywhere that didn't require long and arduous traveling. Waiting at the station for Keita, Gundar had been folding his arms and leaning against the wall of the structure that would give them passage to the castle. If they were going to some big, fancy party they should at least go with some kind of air about them. Well, either way, this should be fun.

Keita walked over towards the building that the two of them would need to wait at, and when he turned the corner and looked down the street he saw Gundar. Keita would wait until Gundar looked his way before waving to him and walking over to him in a slightly faster pace. “Heya Gundar, hope you’re ready to be proper at a dining table tonight.” He would say, slightly ribbing Gundar for his slight lack of manners. He couldn’t blame the dwarf though, as the two of them were raised in different circumstances while both dwelling in the dark side of society. After the playful jab at Gundar, Keita simply stood off to the side and waited, and looked fairly prim and proper. The garb that he usually wore essentially counted as fancy dress already, the white and teal colors excluding a charm that clashed devilishly with his fair tanned skin. He was a stark contrast to Gundar, all in all.

Dressing up for the occasion, Gundar was wearing a rather dressy tuxedo even though he was very uncomfortable in it. It barely offered any protection for him. What would he do if he got attacked, it offered no mobility whatsoever. How did people wear these sorts of monkey suits, Gundar thought to himself. As he was lost in thought, he had spotted his friend Keita walking up towards him at their designated meeting area. Keita had said something about being proper at a dining table but if this is what being proper was all about, he wanted out. He'd rather sleep in heavy armor over being in this barbaric torture called 'dressing for the occasion.' Fiddling with his suit, he had hoped that this wouldn't take too long or he could find an appropriate change of clothing later. For now, he'd grit his teeth and bare with it as a forced sort of smile appeared on his face in response to Keita's question.

Keita walked right up to Gundar and gave him a weird disgusted look at his weird and forced smile. Shaking his head, he would just continue to stand there for a bit, waiting for the carriage that would take them to the castle grounds. After a bit of silence, Keita couldn’t help but break it by speaking his thoughts out loud. Sigh…”I hope they have some good food and entertainment. I’m really only going to keep up appearances at the guild.” their guild was specifically invited, and so it would be a pretty bad show of faith if they didn’t show up. It was strange, but then again, he felt that a lot of people in high society was evil and on the dark side like they were, and they loved to keep up appearances and make sure that everyone knew how wealthy or successful they were. Complete hubris and arrogance, and Keita didn’t like those types of people.

Well, that was the expected response that Gundar anticipated Keita would give him. He was feeling rather uncomfortable and it was very hard to hide it. He could only hope he'd be able to bear it long enough to keep up appearances when they arrived at the castle in order to show themselves to the people at this little gathering. Gundar carried not for trivial things like status but apparently the guild does since that's how they make their money and so here he was trying to impress other people. Gundar did slightly wonder if he'd find any other dwarves like himself around as it was already quite rare to find them. While he thought this, Keita voiced his opinions aloud to which Gundar had nodded and grunted in approval as he had similar thoughts himself. He had hoped this would either pass by really quickly or the food and alcohol would be good enough to satisfy his tastes.

As they were chatting, if you could call it that because of Gundar’s way of grunting at things instead of offering words, the tell tale signs of a carriage coming towards them were heard, as the sounds of clopping on the cobblestone path was a dead giveaway. Keita turned and looked, as he saw a small old man holding the reins to two beasts that looked like Clydesdale horses, but they were slightly more muscular and had horns on their heads. The carriage itself was also black in color with gold trim, showing how much the castle valued all of the guests in today’s celebration. This was the kind of elaborate fanfare one would expect nobles to receive, but here they were, low ranking members of their guild receiving it. Keita nodded in satisfaction and then walked over to the carriage door, while the old man driving it hastily got off and opened the door for the pair.

Having what Gundar would consider a chat with Keita, the sounds of a horse clipping and clopping towards them could be heard approaching as they were talking amongst each other. Gundar eyed the carriage rather closely as it pulled up before a disapproving grunt had escaped his mouth. He thought it was too gaudy for his liking but if this was what the upper class of citizens received frequently to show off their status then he'd have to bear with it for the reputation of the guild. He hoped this night wouldn't be too boring as he was probably expected to have table manners or something when there but he digressed. Wasting no time, Gundar went over to the carriage door, opening it so he could climb in and be seated. He'd then wait for Keita to hop in as well so  they could get this night over with. At least there would be alcohol there, or so he hoped.

Keita noted as Gundar got on the carriage with him, and they each sat down opposite each other. The inside of the carriage was rather lavish, and Keita immediately noticed a small bucket that was filled with ice that had some special ice magic runes on it to keep it cold. Inside of the ice was a bottle of champagne with two fancy glasses situated on a small shelf that was right under the curtained window on the other side of the door. Keita sat down on what was essentially a booth seat in a restaurant, but the seats were made of a nice velvet material, so it was very comfortable. Keita immediately popped the cork of the champagne, as he was not going to be humble about anything, and was going to take full advantage of everything that was going to be served to them. After pouring himself a glass, he looked questionably at Gundar, wondering if he also wanted a glass.

Entering the carriage, Gudnar had thought the interior design looked pretty okay but there were some glaring issues he had problems that he could not overlook. As a craftsman himself, he couldn't stand to see such shoddy work paraded around as extravagant. Humans and other races must live like animals if these were the types of craftsmanship they were proud of. He could easily tell it wasn't made by a dwarf but with human hands. Making a dissatisfied grunt at the booth they were in, it seems as if Keita had found some drinks in here. Well, at least somebody did something right and he would be able to have a drink here. Being looked at as if Keita was offering, Gundar nodded his head hoping this would at least calm his nerves down a little bit before they got to the actual party. He figured he'd have to have a talk with the industry about how poor their work is. baby dwarves could make work of this quality easily.

Getting the positive nod from Gundar, Keita slowly poured him a glass of champagne, making sure that there wasn’t that much foam in it, before taking the glass that he already filled for himself and taking a sip. Keita had studied etiquette quite extensively to fit in with the high class back in the city he was from, and so he was quite used to acting like this. Laying one leg over his other knee in comfort, he would open the curtain slightly so that he could look outside at all the city passing by as they headed towards the castle grounds. He looked really comfortable and nonchalant as he sat there staring outside, noticing that Gundar had taken a look around and nearly scoffed at the interior. Keita wasn’t sure if the dwarf was disgruntled about the gaudiness of the carriage that they were in, or if he was thinking that he could do a better job.

Having been poured a glass of champagne from his buddy, Keita. Gundar was at least a bit enthusiastic about it. At least he'd be able to have a drink like the nobles of this place did. Since this stuff was supposed to be high class and expensive, he couldn't wait to try it. Putting the glass to his lips, he took a sip before realizing there wasn't much alcohol content in it. At that very moment, Gundar had decided the nobles were weak, their families were weak and they would not survive a winter in Icebergia. Still, he wasn't one to waste a free drink so he gulped it down quickly. This wasn't even spicy enough to keep him warm for a few seconds, he thought to himself. Slumping down a bit in his seat, he made another disapproving grunt and just decided to ride the whole rest of the way in silence. He hoped the food won't be as disappointing as the drinks.

Keita chuckled to himself when he saw how Gundar was acting, and it was most likely due to the fact that he was expected to dress in a nice suit, which didn’t really suit Gundar very well. He looked rather dapper, but that didn’t mean that the personality meshed well with the clothing or anything. You could still easily tell that the man underneath was not really a good fit for the regal clothing, and preferred some sort of armor or casual clothing. They were nearing the castle based on what Keita could see outside, and soon there were other carriages on the road with them that were heading in the same direction, and soon they would have to interact with all of these noble sions from different houses as well as people from the other parts of their guild. Keita hoped that they could just sort of relax by themselves and that the nobles were told to behave in the dark guild’s presence.

They haven't made it to the party yet but Gundar was already in a sour mood and he hadn't met anybody else yet. Folding his arms, he already knew this was going to be a very boring endeavor, even without conversing with anybody, not that he would try. Keita was better at that sort of thing so he figured he'd leave it in his capable hands. The carriage they were riding in had pulled up to where other carriages had been spotted parking and having their guests come out of it. Well, they were here now so there was no need to delay the inevitable. Opening the door to the outside, Gundar had stepped out into the open to see a lot of humans and other races dressed similarly to the gaudy designs of the carriages they were in.  This made Gundar scoff before looking around for where the entrance to the party may be.

The carriages were all meeting up and eventually were all driven into the courtyard of the castle, slowly stopping in a circular pattern around a large fountain in the middle of the courtyard. As the carriages stopped, Keita simply opened the curtain a little bit more than usual, but made no attempt to get out of the carriage, as he didn’t really care for all of these people and their supposed status. He simply watched them like one would watch an animal in the zoo as they all got out of their carriages and waved to the servants of the castle to come and get their coats and other things that they didn’t need to bring. Keita chuckled to himself as he watched some of the nobles get out with their airs of superiority and their noses held to the sky, as if all of the other people weren’t worthy of their attention.

Looking around for where then obles were heading, Gundar had turned around and looked back at the carriage he had just stepped out of, wondering where Keita was and what he was doing still inside. he knew it was fancy to human standards but it wasn't that comfortable. Shrugging a bit, Gundar had folded his arms deciding to wait until Keita was finished doing whatever he was doing. Deciding to to take a look his surroundings, he had spotted quite a bit of people who weren't nobles but people wearing certain kinds of apparel that were only given to members of Eternal Nightmare. Quite a few of them look like they were senior members as well as some new arrivals like himself and Keita. Well, he had hoped he wouldn't stand out too much as he wasn't exactly the type for conversation and company but also knew he wouldn't survive long in this world without relying on others time and again.

Gundar stepped out of the carriage before Keita did, ever the impatient one it would seem, and Keita simply watched as the other members of the carriages were gossiping with each other. Keita looked at Gundar and waited for a second, before addressing him and telling him why he waited. “You see Gundar, I’m waiting for everyone to enter the estate. They’re much too talkative for me right now. Everyone is trying to show off their self-importance and wealth.” Keita would point towards the nobles that have all grouped together at this point. The nobles were loudly declaring who their father was and what sort of rank and title they held as if they were the ones who earned it. Keita thought it was funny. He would wait a few minutes before he would get down off of the carriage, because at this point most of the nobles had walked inside and he wouldn’t have to mingle too much.

Waiting for Keita to get out of the carriage, Gundar had his arms folded in a rather impatient manner. It was then said by Keita that he was simply waiting for the crowd to die down so the two of them could get in with rather few annoyances such as the nobles trying to flaunt their wealth and status at anything with a pulse. Looking up towards the sky with just his eyes, Gundar had stood there and actually thought about it before his attention turned to what seemed like a wealthy male looking in his direction with a smile full of ridicule. Clenching his fist, that would be a brawl back where he was from but here on fiore at a big gathering like this, he'd be the one in the wrong, especially since it was hosted by his guild. Gundar simply swallow his wrath, walking back to carriage, leaning against it to wait for the crowd to die down as he looked around.

The crowd in front of the castle had dispersed, and there was an obvious hint of panic at one of the servants who had come over to them, wondering what they were doing and why they were taking so long. As he came over to see what was wrong, Keita left the carriage and walked over, waving him off to the relief of the man. It seemed that the servants would be punished if the guests thought that something was unsatisfactory to their liking, as the castle had spent quite a bit on today’s festivities. Keita nodded to Gundar before walking towards the castle, making a special note of the man that had sent Gundar a ridiculing smile. Those under the umbrella of Keita’s influence weren’t people that could be mocked or touched by random nobility that didn’t earn their fare share. Keita had plans for that young noble, and it wouldn’t be fun for him.

Waiting around for a little while, it seems the crowds were dying down, getting smaller and smaller. Hopefully this would be enough for the two of them to get in without a scene stirring up around them, a panic seems to have been stirred within a servant due to how long they had been waiting there. It seems Keita had handled the matter accordingly since he just waved away the servant. This only made Gundar snicker but at least Keita had gotten out of the carriage. However, Gundar felt a certain chill from Keita as he looked at a certain noble that Gundar had already forgotten about for better or for worse. This made him raise an eyebrow but he decided it wasn't in his best interest to go poking the bear about a situation he knew nothing about. For now, he'd just focus on going to this big party thrown by none other than the leader of the Eternal Nightmare, Odin.

The two of them walked towards the castle, essentially following the servant as they were led inside, and soon what greeted them was a grand reception hall. This place was essentially where the servants would take the guest’s overcoats and other things that were unnecessary for the particular occasion and store them, before the guests would be allowed to move about. Keita skipped all of this, as the only real overcoat he had was a white hoodie that he bought to be inconspicuous during missions for the guild, so he had no need for anything of the sort. Instead, Keita simply followed the crowd into a large ballroom where the real festivities could begin. This night there would be no glamorous host, simply a steward of the castle that would come and tell them what sort of events would take place tonight. Since this was a castle governed and hailed by a dark guild, Keita already knew there would be fights.

Now that Keita was ready to leave the carriage, the same servant from before had come out to greet them and lead them into the reception hall where the grand party would take place. The servant would attempt to take their coats but Gundar had waved away the servant as he didn't like having his possessions touched by others even if it was out of courtesy. After the servant had gone away, Gundar had followed Keita into the ballroom trying to shrink himself as much as possible so he wouldn't be noticed. He wasn't exactly a big fan of extravagant parties and it was much more gaudier here in the mainland than it was in Icebergia or the Savannah.  There wasn't really much for him to do other than look forward to what kind of food and drink they had here. Giving a grunt, he wondered what exactly is the purpose of gatherings like this if they are fighting or fornicating.

The people were now all in the grand hall, and soon the main steward of the castle was ready to speak, as he started addressing everyone. Everyone quieted down quite quickly to listen to the castle steward, especially because he looked quite dangerous in his own way. This was a castle owned by a very powerful person after all, there was no way that the steward of the castle would be weak. “Greetings everyone, and thank you all for gracing the castle with your presence. Soon the food and drink shall be served, feel free to move into the dining hall if you fancy. We have a band that is going to start playing soon, as well as a challenge of martial skill later.” After taking a look around when he said martial skill, Keita got a bit excited, but it seemed that the nobles were simply scoffing at it, as if it was beneath them.

Making another grunt, it seems like the main steward was getting ready to give a little speech of some kind as he attempted to garner the attention of the guests in the room. As the room quieted down, Gundar had focused his attention towards the main steward getting ready to give a speech. He had announced the the food and the drinks would be served to the guests soon which piqued Gundar's interest. At least that was one of the only things he had to look forward to being in this gods forsaken event they call a party. Following the instructions of the steward, Gundar had begun to head in the direction most of the guests were heading in order to be seated and wait for their food. There were rows of dining tables and seats on one side and a dance floor on the other side of the hall. Gundar walked over and began to inspect the tables and chairs to see which seat would give him the best view of the room.

Once the speaker finished, there was a small bit of an applause, before everyone split up in their respective groups and headed towards wherever they wanted. Most of the people went over to the tables in the dining hall for a meal while speaking to each other. Once they got there and sat down, many succulent and beautiful dishes were brought out and placed at the occupied tables. A servant came to the table that he and Gundar sat down at, and offered them a small selection of high quality alcohols. Keita looked at the man and asked him for a glass of red wine. He assumed that Gundar would ask for some sort of ale or hard alcohol, and when the man disappeared and came back with the drinks, Keita was still formulating a plan against that noble. Keita would simply make small talk with Gundar and enjoy the fine food and alcohol until the food was done.
