Jikan

It was a beautiful afternoon in the port of Hargeon. Too bad Jikan would not be able to really enjoy it. She. Needed. Food. After finishing her mission of catching pirates stealing cargo from traveling merchant ships, the payment she received was sufficient. But the energy and effort from knocking those thieves' heads against each other increase her appetite, no her hunger. Her stomach was growling at this point, an annoyance for the thirty year old female wizard, and even at her age and comfort with herself, a little bit embarrassing.  Of course, it could not really be helped. Being out traveling before the sun was even raised, hunting for the pirates for hours, and then having to beat them and bring the materials back was an easy way to make anyone hungry, especially if they had to do all of it by themselves. That did not mean Jikan had to be happy about it though. But surely Jikan would be able to find someplace to grab some grub soon, right? She hoped so, the other situation was very undesirable for her.

As Jikan continued to walk around in pursuit of her goal, the  port of Hargeon was, as always, filled with laughter and chatter. You could hear various merchants trading goods all over the place, craftsman advertising their products, old men enjoying bad jokes, sailors discussing the weather, and pirates doing whatever shady business they had planned for the day. The noise generated by this crowd was almost unbearable by the visitors who were not used to such busy towns. Not too far in the distance, a small wooden ship could be noticed slowing down as it approached the docks. But she was not eyeing on that, her eyes instead were focused on a shop further down the street. A wooden sign hanging out from the side, the image of a plate with a knife and fork crossed over it. B-b-b-bingo!

Lee makes a good dinner every now and then, but today she was requested by her little exceed, Lector, to go out. He was tired of the same cooking even if she changed it up a bit. A lot of convincing and moaning and here were are. The demi-human crossed her arm, a little irritated by her little friend's indecision on what dish to get. Her fox ears lowered with a scowl. She knew he was doing this on purpose to annoy her. "Let me know when you're done, I am going to wash up." She got up to go to the bathroom. When she walked in, she adjusts her hair out of her eyes to make it a little bit more proper. She wasn't always this glam or proper, but she does care about her appearance moderately.

She sighed, a small glaze come over her eyes as she thought about her brother. Lee wiped her eyes a little and adjust her personality. Her confidence came back to her face as everything else returned. "Just calm down, everything will be okay," she whispered. She decided to go back to her seat with Lector. Walking out the door, she didn't really pay attention to what she was doing. Lee bumping into someone, causing the dragon slayer to react. "I am so sorry! Here let me help you up," she said, holding out her hand.

Jikan

Jikan was elated, finally, finally, she could find some food and some water. She was beginning to feel dehydrated. As she walked forward she could smell the aroma of the restaurant. Her nostrils tingled, sensing the savory salty smell of sizzling bacon and ham. Her mind began to play a game, Pictionary. The smell of the food coming to life and becoming an image for her to conjure. Everywhere was food.
Warm soft sticky Cinnamon buns hot off a tray laying off the edge of the kitchen ready to be picked up and placed on an ordered plate. The crunch of mozzarella sticks bitten into, the soft white cheese sliding out of her mouth as she pulled them apart, the red marina sauce giving a saucy slightly spicy kick with each dip. Delicious pieces of lasagna crunching in her mouth after being cut and elevated with her fork. Jikan lips were overflowing, helpless in the thought of enjoying something sweet, a cold glass of liquid flowing to quince her thirst as the imaginary figure of Jikan began drinking some heavy sweet molasses.

The pleasant thought would not last like though. Lost in her mind though as Jikan was about to reach out and open the door. It swung open! Bumping into a lady who was leaving the facility. Off balanced, Jikan somehow ended up smacking her face against the door. The wood hitting JIkan right in the face with a smack, the woman not being fully present and taking the blow. The impact hurt, causing Jikan to grab ahold of her nose with her nose. "Oh...oww...son of a-". She grinced as she felt her nose, kneeling down in a quiver, partly out of the unexpected pain, the shock of it making the blow hurt more than it normally would, and a little bit of anger. All she wanted was to eat after a long day and handling a mission, why did she have to get hit in the dang face? In the middle of her, lost composure she heard a voice offer a quick apology. Followed by an offer to help her up. With a sigh, Jikan reached up and took the offered hand before lifting herself up with the aid of a little tough. "Apology accepted, I can't really be made at ya...wasn't really paying attention there", Jikan said this with a slightly joly voice, she wanted to ensure that the person know that no harm was done.

Lee helped the woman up to her feet. They both had their heads stuck in the cloud, per say. The kitsune smiled. "Think we both can say we were not paying attention. I think I have too much on my mind is all. The name is Lee Nakamura, what's yours?" She would ask out of politeness. She waited until the woman would say her name. Lee could see Lector already ordering something for himself and handed the waiter the menu. He looked over to see her and waved. The exceed had the big doopy grin on his face. Lee already knew he was probably up to no good.

"Say, you want to sit with my exceed and I? I can buy you food as an apology for causing so much trouble" she smiled. The kitsune would invite her to dinner as a form of invitation for a possible friendship. She was trying to make new friends or just become more friendlier as that was her one weakness. They got to the booth as Lector smiled. Lee sat next to Lector and stared at him. "What did you order this time?" She spoke in a annoyed manner, knowing he ordered the most expensive fish platter. "The Hargeon Platter with all sortas of fish to eat and sushi. What did you get Lee?" The exceed smiled.

Jikan dusted herself off slightly after getting back to her feet thanks to the aid of who she would learn to be Lee Nakamura. She dusted her knees and the back of her pants slightly, shaking the small amount of dust and rubble off her body that transferred from the impact on the ground. Looking up, Jikan extended her left hand to her face to move a strand of her red hair out of her face, "Yea, I suppose I was letting my hunger distract me a tad too much. My name is Jikan Supēsu", Jikan paused a moment hearing Lee's full name. "Nakamura huh? That's an interesting name". Jikan was one used to the ordinary behaviors of people. Politeness and common things are done out of the expectation to be polite. She assumed that was the case here, she could understand it after all in this situation, she felt just walking away after just bumping into someone and falling done, would be a little awkward.

And then she asked Jikan if she wished to join her at her table, along with her exceed. Exceed? What...is that? She was curious and after looking in the direction Lee was pointing at she saw...a cat. A cat? JIkan's eyes flickered back at the mention of food though, never minding her curiosity of the cat and why it was called something called an exceed. Great news for her, she would not turn down an easy offer of free food in a restaurant. And then her stomach growled slightly, making it obvious that she was hungry. Slightly embarrassed by the uncontrollable noise, "heheh, well with how my body sounding, yea I think I'll take you up on your offer", a small embarrassed smile being done in return to Lee's. She had to take better care of herself, focusing on her quest and looking for missions to do was very time-consuming for her, and the uncomfort of her body lacking nutrition was starting to get to her.

As they made their way to the booth Jikan was initially confused as to why she began talking to her cat. Well, she knew that people talk to their pets, sure, but the way she talked was of that she expected an exact legitimate answer. AND THEN THE CAT RESPONDED. Gleefully even. The act itself making Jikan do a double take from looking at Lee, completely bewildered by what she had just seen, uhhh, heard. "D...did the cat just talk?".

It seemed her name was Jikan, the last name itself was a mouth full for her to pronounce. The ginger kitsune listened as she mentioned her last name was interesting. "Thank you. Your name is pretty unique too," she complimented back. LeeAnn was used to the reactions with having a unique and powerful last name as the Nakamura family was. Their reputation was pronounced among those who lived in Hargeon for years. Though, recently she wanted the family to remain quieter than she would have liked. It was for their protection against Solomon to prevent another attack like what happened to her younger cousin, Astrid.

It had seemed Jikan's body reacted already to her offer. Sometimes the body spoke, just not in verbal speech. The kitsune smiled and blended her hair with the rest of her untamed appearance. Though what made her laugh was Jikan's reaction to Lector. The little cat was used to the reactions from other people seeing talking cats. He smiled and waved. "Yes, ma'am. My name is Lector, Lee's best buddy. Pleased to meetcha" he bowed a little. He looked smug and proud of his exceed heritage. A small smile came from Lee. She leaned back and gave a smug look. "Yeah...best buddy in getting me into trouble." She smiled and ruffled his little head in good fortune.

"Heres to good food and good people and cats" She spoke with her fist into the air.
