Please note that these are simply suggestions, not requirements. I'd like different opinions on the suggestions, not arguments or shitting on others for their opinions.
With that being said, let's get started.
- Spell Speed: I've had this on my mind for a long time. The reason I held it off was because there were hardly any fights or spars beforehand, the only big fight being the tournament which was hand-to-hand. But now that most of us are getting our spells approved, ready to start sparring with a little bit of magic, I believe spell speed is important. Why? If we have no spell speed, how are we ever going to hit our targets? I do realize that the magic regulations says spell speed is universal, but it doesn't state the specific numbers. When it comes to a fight and calling hits, Person A would say the hit never connected because the spell was only moving at 4 meters per second whereas Person B would say it's moving at 8 meters per second. A big difference. Now that we have that in check, I also suggest that the universal spell speed should be taken out and replaced with scaling spell speed, dependent on rank. If you keep a universal spell speed (let's say 10 meters per second), a person training their speed could eventually outrun a spell. Sounds pretty silly as I see it. Thoughts and opinions on this matter.
- Quests with a Twist: The second suggestion I'd like is with quests. After talking it out with another user who had a similar thought, I figured why not share it with the rest of the community. Everyone loves doing quests with extra rewards, so why not add a quest with a really nice reward (even more so for job of X rank), but give it a consequence as well. For example, taking on a quest where you gotta fight a sound mage. You may lose your hearing ability in exchange for getting a few extra jewels. You might argue why people would take on said quest if you're losing something in return, especially something vital. Well, I figured the repercussion could be temporary. After 10 threads, you suddenly can hear again. I'd be interested in a reward like that if it's not permanent damage. It adds a bit of a twist and flavor to future threads, as well. And if you don't want to go deaf at all, well, you don't have to take on the quest. A huge problem with this would be staff involvement and as a person who's been on staff on various occasions, it's really tiring. As a result, I'm not real stressed upon making this a thing; perhaps it can be accepted but not implemented until the site is flourishing. I doubt this would be a thing anytime soon, with the way the site is running right now. Felt like if I kept this away until the site is ready for this suggestion, I'd forget about it.
- EXP for Casual Roleplay: I do believe this has been brought up before, maybe in the past versions of the site. I also understand the different viewpoints on it and everyone would hate it if a guy just socializes the whole time, yet turns out to be the second strongest mage right after myself. But I think EXP for casual roleplay should be a thing. It'd give incentive for those who hate combat and instead roleplay for the socializing aspect to fit in as well. Now of course, we don't want a filthy casual to stand right under myself, so we could lower the EXP gained per post by a significant amount. It would take them about 300 or so posts of casual roleplay in order to reach C-Rank and so on. No, this wouldn't take much staff involvement. There's a way for Forumotion to reward currency based on what section of the forum they're posting in. EXP isn't hard to fix. Like the previous suggestion, this isn't a priority in my eyes, seeing as how most of us are content with the quests for the time being, but hey, might as well try.
That's all I have for now. Again, I'd like everyone's input on my thoughts. Please don't shit on others opinions just because they don't agree with you.
