It was early in the day, in Northern Fiore. The new region of home that Jikan would call home. Orchidia, the sun shining brightly over the sky were we come upon a young women. Walking down the streets of the town that her guild was located in; Sleeping Calamity, Jikan Supēsu felt the heat from the sun coming down to her.

It was not necessarily hot, there were a few clouds in the blue sky today, but there was a weak wind that did not give much of a cool breeze. That combined with the humidity made her feel slightly hot. She had recently finished with an errand and found herself back in the area. It was a mess, a little bit, but overall relaxing and peaceful. It was forgettable. But today, today would be different, today she was out walking the town and enjoying the returning sounds of a busy somewhat happy gathering of people.

She was wearing a light yellow t-shirt, and light blue flat front shorts, with brown sandals fitting comfortably on her feet that wrapped around her ankles and had a knot on her big toe. Her right hand held her gauntlet, a new one she gained on the way home.

It was...from a man who was in the bad habit of making bets he could not help to win in. And, unfortuantly for him, Jikan was lucky enough to continue that bad streak of bad luck for him. Sad news for him, good news for her. But things had consequences, and it was not like Jikan took advantage of him. She just won in the situation that he started after all.

A gust of wind blowed, the abundance of people moving about in the street with it, the sight put a warm smile on the returning witch's face as she walks the streets with her new item on her arm. After a few minutes of this though her stomachs growl unimaginably loud, louder than a large wave crashing against a cliff, many people turned around to look at her as they heard her stomach growl. A few left out an amused chuckle, before sighing and turning away in embarrassment. Slightly embarrassed, maybe more, Jikan rubbed the back of her head bashfully.

oh geez, well, ugh guess I should get some food, I probably should have waited to get food to eat before taking the long ride back over here this morning. ....but, where to go?

As she thought to herself about how to resolve her predicament, Jikan began to look around at the shops and stores in the street. Trying to see if there were any that interested her. After seeing a few shops; a smoothie shop, a pastry shop. The pastry shop being specifcally of intrest to her due to her sweet tooth. But alas, she needed something that was filling and healthy to start her day, and those sweet temptations would not do. Continuing her look, she found a breakfast restaurant-shop. Jikan came upon the wonderful resolution with excitement. It looked fresh and brand new to the area.

Looking up she saw that there was a sign that said, Sandwich delight. A goofy smile crept onto his face as he saw this, almost. They got a lot of confidence in their food. Okay, let's see how good it is.

Jikan then walked under the cloth protecting the slide door on the outside before opening the door and walking inside of the facility. As she walks in, she is greeted by a group of enthusiastic welcomes by a few men and women working behind the counter. As she sat down, it appeared to Jikan that they were family, or at least that most of them working here were.

Most of them looked very similar to each other, and even addressed each other by saying uncle, aunt, niece, grandpa etc. The age of the individuals ranged from young teenagers to middle age adults, to old but still chipper and vibrant elderly citizens, numbering about 8 of them in total, with two additional people working that seemed to not be part of the family.

"Welcome to Saaaaandwich Delight!, the best place in the world to get a healthy bite. What can we get you this fine mornin'?" an old man said with a proud bright smile.

Jikan had to think about it for a few seconds, sure, she had no specfic craving going on, besides something sweet; but that was not of anything new. She scanned the menu hanging overhead and soon found a suitable option, "I would like to have the double egg, cheese, bacon and sausage sandwich with a large glass of water. Eggs scrambled and with provolone cheese melted please", Jikan said smooth and straight forward, in a voice that held no opinion within, just amatter of fact bequest. She stuck her hand out, dropping the necessary coinage that was needed for the transaction.

The man held out his hand, letting the coins fall into his open palm with a soft clink among them before clasping them and putting them into the register. With a few clinks and a ching the transaction was complete, at least on the money side. "Okay, coming right up!", the old man said as he turned spoke to someone. A note being ripped from a pad that was then handed off to another man, one on the younger side. The man vanished behind a flapping door before the sound and smell of food being cooked began to come to life.

With a nod Jikan turned moving to a nearby table to slide into a chair.

As Jikan waited for her food, she began to slowly turn her head and look around the facility. With little more to do, she listened to the people in the restaurant talk. She began to think on things. Everything looked much bigger than it looked from the outside. It is more of a restaurant than a shop. But it felt so cozy and family-friendly, but also like a fancy place, it was a mix. I can not wait to see how the food taste.

And she would not have to wait much longer. For as soon as Jikan thought this to herself, the man that took Jikan's order out to the kitchen came out with it. A warm smoke lightly coming from the toasted bread and food of the sandwich. "Here you go mad'am, enjoy." the young man said as he placed the bowl in front of Jikan.

Reaching out, Jikan pulled the tray containing the sandwich located on a simple plate. Her eyes shined with anticipation as she watched her meal before her. A nod was given in reorganization to the man that brought her food. Jikan then reached his right hand over to the right. Taking a knife and fork out from their individual holders. Jikan rubbed the metal tools together using both of hands before sticking the fork through the sandwich and slowly cutting the sandwich in half in the shape of a triangle. Once that was done she removed the fork, and picked up one of the cut sandwich slices and began digging in and starting to eat. The first taste was the salt and pepper of the eggs, a soft light taste that gave some extra taste besides its natural flavor.

The crunchy softness of the bread was even better, and it was slightly sweet! It got Jikan's craving satisfied while being mostly underwhelming in the large picture. The crunchiness came back though, the bacon and sausage were well cooked, warm, and not greasy. A perfect sandwich in Jikan's eyes. The richness and full flavor of their savory taste was something she could not help but enjoy. Jikan swallowed, then proceeded to take another bite, before finishing that too and reaching out with her left and to take a sip of water. She continued to eat, time passed as the sounds of activity occurred around her. It was undisturbed, her time to eat and get energy fuel for the day. She had a feeling that it would be a long one. Soon, she was done. "Ahhhh that was delicious", Jikan said with a smile licking her lips. Getting up from her seat, she thanks the old man and the rest of the staff for the meal and begins walking out. "Ahh, The care in preparing the food is amazing, a true testament of the mindset of respect for ones craft. Everything coming together perfectly. So delicious".

Jikan walked out, being once again outside of the facility and back onto the street that was Orchidia. However, there seemed to be a commotion going inside as soon as Jikan was out. Loud noises, screaming, and other dreadful things before a group of people came flung out of the store. Making the doors fly open. A number of men and women made up on their group. They seemed to have come cash and items in their hands, but seemed very angry and displeased. "You will rue the day you resisted us, do you know who we are?! We will be back, and you will give us what we want!", said a bulky man in the group. Soon then they were off, running away in the opposite direction Jikan was.

Jikan thought about chasing after the group, but thought better and had a bigger priority of checking up on the people inside. ...it was not any of her business but...

Such nice people....it is a shame that their lively hood is being threatened.... Once inside Jikan fully saw what transpired. Things were a mess, tables cracked open wall items ripped, chairs broken, and food thrown onto the ground.

It was such a waste. Seeing the people sadden and will partially broken. A man just flipped the open sign to closed as she walked in. "I am sorry mad'dam..but...we are closed for the day", it was the same man that served her. Jikan saw his face, and could see that he was fighting back his emotions. He was fumming, livid, blood lusted. He was shaking and it was as if his eyes were covered in darkness.

"If you do not mind me asking. What happened here?". She did not need to hear though, she knew from the context. They got robbed, and the people aimed to be back. Maybe for a ransom. However there had to be something more than that. They had to want something more perhaps. But it was easy to see what happened, a few people were hurt, the store was trashed, cash was on the floor, so some were definitely lost in their mad dash get away.

Jikan did not wait for the man to give her a full answer, she just moved forward towards the ones injured. The old man that was at the register, a waitress, and a female cook.

"Here...let me help you", as she spoke Jikan would not wait for a response. The people gave her a good service, and they needed medical attention. And given that Jikan was here she wanted to pay them back and help them in their time of need. Holding out her left hand, Jikan created a 2 meter white magic seal in their palm while a larger 8 Meter magic circle covers the designated area, this designated was around her, as the people injured were all around her, given that she had walked herself straight into the middle of them all. Soon something enveloped all of who were in the ring with a gust, a soft wind current flowed flows around them, covering their wounds and healing them slowly. The scratches faded, being closed by the skin, bleeding stopped, pain went away.

Gasps came from the people. Due to the pain leaving their body suddenly, from them being surprised by the sudden magic spell being casted by Jikan, and the relief slowly coming over them not just physically but mentally as well.

"O uh..um thank you miss...?", the man that was ill tempered, rationally, was brung back to earth now.

"Jikan, my name is Jikan. Now tell me, what is going on here? Why did those people attack and do..this?".

The people looked uneasy, unhappy with their situation but nervous to spread the situation about what they were dealing with. There was no real law here, so you were left to the ones with power, influence, or magic. They were unsure if they wanted to drag in this random lady into the fold of the chaotic mess. And even if it was wise to, for she could just be a worse than who they were dealing with right now.

One of them spoke out to answer Jikan's question. A female, a black apron was tied around her waist that was half done and partially still on her frame. "Well...you see, we have been having an issue with a group for a while now. They do not tell us their names, and only give us orders; if not demands things from us. This group demands that we pay them a 'fee' for protection, as what they like to call it. But what it really is just thievery. Worse yet, they do it randomly, no consistency, there is no way for us to make sure we have the amount of money they demand".

The lady was speaking face, her hair moving with her body as she spoke, her hands were animated moving and unleashing the pent up emotions she had been forced down to hide in her core for the last several months, "it use to only once a month, now its every week, sometimes multiple times per week. And now", she hiccuped, tears starting to well up in her eyes, "a-an-and now, there are threatening to kill some of us if we refuse to give them double. Either that or handing over the family recipe book. It's..it's all just too much too much. They have even started breaking in in the middle of the night to steel too!".

A new sibling member had come up to her now, one short and small, a younger one, a kid. They hugged her left leg as she trembled with emotion; of sadness, of fear, of rage that was ramming at the door of her controlled calm illusion to the outside world that gave her this situation. That gave her family and their home, business, their livelihood, this doomed situation that was slowly choking them.

Jikan watched all of them with her eyes as she scanned the room. Seeing them fully. An old man, a young woman, a mother, a daughter, a few young adult sons. Coming together to provide a serivce, food for hungry people and good service. Together, as a family. Building something for themselves and the family members that would grow wth them, from them, and choose to continue a family business. Here, in Orchidia.

Without a word Jikan would spin on her heel and walk out of the room, out of the building. Silently and without doing anything else besides picking up a picture frame that held the image of everyone working together in the kitchen of their home back up on the table it was sat on before it was knocked over to the ground by the group of hooligans.

Jikan did not realize it but she would be back, that very day, that very night. The actions going on there disturbed her, angered her. Kid's foundation, their upbringing was being tainted by a groups greed and desire for violence. Hurting the ones they called family as they simply tried to life. In their home. In our home she thought.

These people are a part of Orchidia, of the few people that had decided to return in the damage of the area due to the storm and Sleeping Calamity's first clash of combat with the Rune Knights. They chose to come back. They chose to be here, and knowingly or unknowingly, that meant that they were within Sleeping Calamity's reach. And thus Jikans. And as people under her, they were hers, a part of her, and under her protection. And those endangering the ones that belonged to her, who hurt them from living peaceful lives, would be stopped and pay the consequences of their actions.

Jikan then walked through the town until eventually making it to the guild building, walking in she said no word to anyone. Simply to her room to where she put on her magical items that she wore when going on missions or expecting compact. She then waited and took her time, walking through the town again, making note of the area. People were rebuilding, people were returning. Her people. Her guild's people. And to think that all of this, part of its progress, was under threat because of greed and desire for money, and for the source of that money from other people.

It had grown to be night time now. Jikan walked through closer to the section of the town that held Sandwich Delight. She would move steadily forward until she would eventually making it to Sandwich Delight. Seeing to goof off, while in reality she was paying attention to the people coming and going in and being around; as well as making note of anything happening nearby.

The moon hanged in the sky, its light hidden by the clouds. She ran around to the back, taking the chance of the shadow to get a look from the back. She saw a couple of sets of stated crates, each having about four and looking to have the dimensions of five by five by five. Looking upward, she looked for any opening into the store but found nothing out of the ordinary. Good. Secure for now.

Nothing looks out of normal so far... but how are they getting in and stealing, from where? Wait, maybe the crates? She stopped and bent over. Seeing that nothing looked off to her. Welp, regardless I need to figure this out. The last day they had to run amok in my town is today.

Running off Jikan quickly and quietly slid into a dark empty alley. Using her thick but muscular calfs, the magic user jumped upward on the roof of a building. She made her way to a taller location, a building that was behind Sandwich Delight, allowing for a vantage point view of the back and the left side due to the angle and height. By this time it was around eight. She had watched steadily for two hours before she finally saw signs of movement. Got yea, she thought. But, as she got ready to move she did not see a human silhouette, but instead of what it seems to be an animal.

Looking closer, she saw that in fact that it was a fox, a red fox. ...really... all this waiting and just for a fox. I thought they said they would be back? As she pondered this and what to do next, she picked up a small rock that was on the roof. As the fox sniffed and seemed to about to try to climb the crates, Jikan flicked the stone from her palm so that it landed by the fox and ricocheted ​off the floor and hit the wall beside the fox, not hurting the creature, but scaring it so that it would run away.

And so it did. But that did nothing to alienate Jikan's anger and annoyance. She was ready to put a stop to this after all. She waited more, with patience. And after thirty minutes after this she started to hear voices coming from around the corner. She quickly sat right back down to her hiding spot and waited to see what would happen.

Eventually two men turned the corner from the other side of the building. The appearance much like two people she saw in the group earlier. The one in the front was wearing long black pants and a black shirt. He appeared to have a full beard, in the style of a handlebar mustache. The other man seemed to have a snidely whiplash with a goatee that came to a sharp point; this man seemed to be dressed in long dressy kimono. Given the dressing of the group she saw before, this was a real surprise and distinction from the group.

Is he in charge of these people?. Rather than immediately jumping out and confronting them, Jikan chose to sit back for a few minutes and observe. She wanted to make sure there were not more of them coming in behind them or shortly after.

She watched, letting them move and once the men reached the crates, she saw that they pulled out crowbars from the bags they were caring and put masks up covering most of their faces. “Hurry up, I don’t want to get caught. I’d rather not deal with any nosey pets," said one of the men that seemed to be in charge of their plan. " Forget that, I am more concerned with dealing with the boss if we fail, dude is crazy," said the man trying to crack open one of the crates.

So those two are just runner huhs? Guess I might as well stop them now before they get in. I wonder about the third one though.... Jikan then jumped out to confront them. “Stop right there!" she yelled, as she threw out a hand before blast of wind in the shape of shurikans came flying at the hand of the man using the crowbar. The men turned their heads upward to where the noise came from to only have the man using the crowbar dropped it and yell out in pain. Jikan's throw hit true, making them all stop dead in the tracks.

“Who are you and what are you doing here!?” they all yelled in unison. The one who held the crowbar now had a bleeding cut on the dorsal side of his left hand. "I will freaking kill her", the man spit in a poison tone as he held his bleeding hand.

Jikan's feet touched the ground and straightening up to a head held high she stood before the three. She began to walk a little towards them before the one taking charge amongst the three spoke out. “You better get out of here if you know what’s best for you, lady”.

"I am Jikan, the Red Spartan. And you are in MY territory hurting my people. I think you should go, if you know what is best for you. This, relationship> You have Sandwich Delight and the people here is over". Jikan remained calm on the outside, but in the inside she was nervous, nervous that these men would be chickens and run. She wanted them to stay, she wanted them to give her an excuse to beat them around and smack their heads about for next few minutes.

The men laughed in unison at the her, seemingly unfazed by her words and actions."Oh sure pretty lady, if you come with us for a bit I think we can forget about this place for awhile. If not, how about you go back home? Stay out of things that do not concern you, unless you want to get messy?".

One of them laughed, "yea, what are you gonna do to make us go anyway huh?? Yell for help? maybe cry and kick us?".

Taking a deep breath Jikan said in a calm smooth voice, steadying his temper, but coming off as threatening and ominous to the men. "Well, for one. I can use your blood to paint the back side of the building. It looks like it needs a new fresh coat of RED".

A moment of panic came over the man and then they all responded in a growl. "Your funeral bitch, we warned you!" And with that, the time for talk was over.

Immedeitly Jikan jumped back, putting some distance from her and the others. This was to get them to follow her for a little bit and get them away from the nearby buildings. She wanted them to have little room to escape or to make a mess of the people's homes.

Soon it would be enough. And in a quick turn Jikan would leap off of the building she was on. With the wind moving her hair to the side Jikan descended from the building landing in front of the three men. Two of them rushed at Jikan as soon as she landed. The minions came at her with a metal rod, swinging and aiming for her head. Quickly thinking, Jikan ducks, and spins on her left heel, dealing a powerful roundhouse kick to the man's side. It sent him a bit away from her, taking the wind out of him, but not out of the fight.

Just as quickly as Jikan had finished delivering the kick did the second minion punish him for the move. The cherry picking fighter delivered a quick series of blows, a right jab to the head and left jab to the body then a right hook to the body. Jikan was able to dodge the first blow by moving her head to the side, and was barley able to block the second using one of her palms to catch it with a smack. However, the third blow was too strong for the her to block at the speed it caught her.

It broke through her guard and sent her flying backwards. Her feet slide against the group as she caught herself. Her eyes glaring at the three before her as she seemed unfazed.

The leader began to walk forward, moving behind the other to to walk slowly towards the Jikan and began to start crackling his knuckles. “You’ve got some guts, chick. It ain’t gonna work out in your favor though.” said the leader with a chuckle. The minion that Jikan kicked got back onto his feet as the leader of the group spoke. "Go".

The minion began to run towards Jikan with the other two behind him. At this moment, Jikan had an idea. Quickly making a hand sign of her pinky and index fingers being pointed, Jikan pointed her hand forward a few meters in front of her. With a crunch and burst three earth walls sprung up from the ground, blocking over the leader and the following minion from the minion in front by causing the walls to come up in a sideways n formation. Once this was done, Jikan dashed forward to meet the minion running towards her. He was all alone and hers now.

After dodging the punches the minion threw, Jikan kicked him in the left knee making him kneel. The man quickly got up though and swung at Jikan's left knee with the pipe. Striking and making her cry out in pain. Jikan endured the blow, grabbing tight on the pipe he held and ripping it out of his hand before cracking her knuckles. She would do that after smacking the hand that he held the pipe in first though.

After which Jikan quickly lifted up her right leg and slammed it down with an axe kick onto the man's right shoulder driving him closer to the ground and off balance. He was gasping from the pain but Jikan was not done for after doing her kick,Jikan would throw punches in an up motion with a left open palm strike, lifting the minion into the air. Jikan then quickly released a series of four punches from her waist's mid section all aimed at his stomach. Stepping forward with each delivery to create more power and unleash ferocity. The final blow sending the minion crashing into the wall that Jikan made behind him, his body stuck in it; unconscious.

Jikan

A sigh to relax her muscles was released from her after the last blow, her hands coming to her side. Jikan thought that this was far from over though, that there were two more and such, the group was far from done yet. Thinking ahead, Jikan leaps into the air just as the leader finally comes out around the left corner of the wall. Looking around to try and see what had occurred, he sees the wall, and not the red haired woman from before. But he does indeed see his comrade plastered against the wall.

"Absolutely useless", scoffs the man. Just as he says this Jikan focus her mana in her right hand. Still in the air the sound of wind building and coming was soon heard as a twirl of wind was shout of her fist. She doubted the man could react in time and so she yelled, "TASTE THIS". She pushed the wind forward, the attack making a scratching sound as it moved forward in a tornado, waiting to scratch whatever it hit.

After hearing a shout the man looked up and sees Jikan with her hand pointed towards him. The wind already at work. A simple and horrified, 'Oh no' was all he could think to himself and speak.

Jikan

The man tried to run for cover back behind the walls that Jikan made but it is too late. The wind slashed and sliced his shirt and pants, pinning him to the ground by its pressure. "D-damn it all" yelled the man. "I will get you. There is no chance in hell I will lose to some dumb, pathetic magic user!!".

And just as he finishes this sentence, Jikan undoes her spell, falling down on the man, she throws out a leg and knees slams the gut right into his face, chipping a tooth and knocking him out cold. Letting out of a sign of relief Jikan says, "phew glad that is over. Now....", she turned to the person that stayed behind while the other two fought her. "Either you can come and try to fight me, by yourself", she did a wide sweeping spread of her arms to show the two allies of his that were defeated. "But you probably know what would happen. So, you got one chance. Since you are obviously, not the boss. Deliver this message for me. That shop? Is mine now".
