Magnolia had always been one of the towns Kerii wanted to see and now that she was there, she was glad she made the decision to travel. The town was very lively and it seemed like everyone was happy to be there. The first place Kerii wanted to visit was South Gate Park. She heard that it was very beautiful and a popular place to hang out and relax. Upon entering the park, she confirmed that the rumors were true. There were benches, flowers, paths, and more that contributed wonderfully to the setting. Kerii walked along one of the paths, slowing down occasionally to look at the nature. As an elf, she naturally had strong ties to nature, so she always couldn't help but to find the beauty in it. She wished that she could vacation in Magnolia, but she knew that she couldn't just do nothing while she was still a mage in Lamia Scale, especially at her rank. She still had a lot of questing to do to catch up to other people in her guild along with proving that she could become Fiore's greatest healers. If not, at least one of the greatest. With that goal in mind, she couldn't spend all her time in Magnolia vacationing. She would have to get to work sooner or later... just not now.

As Kerii was resting on the bench, someone caught her eye. A rather tall, blonde haired man was at the park too, but this man was also a neko. Kerii found herself staring, probably rather rudely, but why should she be surprised by a neko? She was an elf, and elves were even less commonly seen among humans than nekos were.

Magnolia town had grown on the Holy Knight mage, but the people within it were still a mystery to him. He wanted to broaden his relations with the community not just within the Magnolia town but anyone and everyone whether good or bad as he was no longer bound by regulations to enforce the law. Because of this Kon would devote himself to going to Magnolia town and speak to the community at large. The reasoning by his new found interesting of the masses stemmed from him desiring to form strong ties with other individuals outside of the Rune Knights or the Holy Knights for that matter.

Dressed in another suit similar that he had worn back in Crocus he made his way around the town, a few looked in confusion regarding his new change in appearance mainly the new cat ears that he had formed on top of his head, he couldn't help but have his ears react to it causing them to collapse onto his head. Ignoring the state of affairs, he continued walking eventually into a park, another out of place individual came into his sight, far less noticeably with only slight peaked ears. Wanting to establish a report with her simply through a shared difference from the rest of the society, he moved towards her. "I don't think I've ever met an elf before, don't take that as an insult by no means, If you wouldn't mind how about we have a cup of coffee and discuss a couple of things, couldn't help but notice you were looking at my own ears when I came through I'm more than happy to explain my own abilities as we drink."

The neko came towards her and commented that he'd never met an elf before. Surprisingly, he invited her for a cup of coffee so they could talk. He also mentioned that he noticed that she was staring at him, or rather his cat-like ears. "Oh um, sure," Kerii began, standing up from her bench. "I don't really know any good cafés though. I kind of just got to Magnolia. Do you by any chance?" Perhaps this neko did, or maybe he was from out of town like her. If he was, she hoped that he spent more time in Magnolia than she did, because she was absolutely clueless when it came to this town. She only knew of the few places she passed on her way to the park and to the inn she was staying at. Even then she couldn't remember most of the places' names, let alone knew if they were any good or not. The last thing she wanted to do was pick out a place she didn't even know about.

Kerii realized that she had just agreed to go have coffee with a complete stranger. The least she could do was introduce herself to the neko and he the same back to her. "I'm Kerii by the way," she said, now waiting for the neko's reply.

Leaving her bench she revealed a few things to him, she wasn't familiar with Magnolia town at all, only just coming recently to the town. He was curious as to whether she was even familiar at all with anything within the human society but he had been proven wrong before in the past in stranger cases. He would remain at the same pace as Kerii learning her name by her introducing herself, following suit he gave his own name in kind. "I'm Kon, nice to meet you." Eventually, they reached the cafe itself, he took many of his friends and new acquaintance to this establishment finding it had a vast variety of drinks and food that would suit any palate. He, himself frequently visited the cafe purely for the coffee when he needed some time to get away and think about various matters. "Well here it is, The Blue Duck, it was given the name when the owner of the cafe couldn't come up with a name for the establishment and then spotted a blue duck in the corner of his eye in a walk in the park." He said knowingly. Entering the cafe the workers there greeted them both with a smile and led them to their table that would overlook a nearby pond. Taking his seat menus were given to the two of them and they were given time alone to decide upon what they wanted. As they picked, he asked Kerii a few questions. "So what brings an elf like you to Magnolia town?, envoy to the elven society perhaps?""

The neko introduced himself as Kon and soon after that, led her towards a café. It was called the Blue Duck, apparently. Also apparently, there was a small story behind the café's name. "Really? A blue duck?" Kerii hasn't seen a blue duck at all in her life, but in this crazy world of magic and mayhem, she supposed it would have been possible to even see a duck with polka dots all over it.

Kerii and Kon entered the café and were greeted by some friendly café workers who led them to their table and gave them menus. For a café, it had a nice selection of drinks and small meals. As they were deciding what to eat, Kon asked what she, specifically as an elf, was doing in Magnolia. He gave a guess saying that she was here for some kind of diplomatic reason. It was a good guess, but it was very wrong. "Actually, I didn't even grow up in an elven town, so no. I'm actually here because I wanted to pick up some jobs outside of the town I live in. I'm a mage," she informed. There were mages everywhere, so she really didn't think that information was all too important, but it made for a good conversation. "And you? Or do you just live in Magnolia?" Either possibility was valid. He definitely seemed to be familiar with the town, but that didn't always mean that he lived there. He could just have visited the town before.

Unsurprisingly she was equally perplexed by the idea of the cafe's name, he shrugged as well upon hearing her thoughts on the matter. "It is what it is," he said with reluctance on the subject, the owners, after all, had become friends with him and he didn't want to risk their relationship in case one of them overheard his comment. Apparently, she wasn't even raised within an elven society, an interesting piece of information, she had elaborated on her reasoning for being here which in part matched his own to an extent.

Being asked the same question he had little to hide himself, "Well I'm here because my girlfriend asked me to come here and in the time that I'm here I was going to complete a few jobs I couldn't help but notice there is always so many jobs to do here it's insane." His comment was directed towards that fact that Magnolia town seemed to be the hotspot for basically any job imaginable, he was impressed that the community had the money to even afford people doing so many requests however it wasn't up to him where it ultimately would good, upon further reflection it was likely as a result of the Fairy Tail guild building being in the town that influenced things. With little else said between them, Kon called forth the waiter once again and promptly spoke to him regarding what he likes to drink after allowing Kerii to decide for herself. "Yes, I would like an apple and pear cider with a lime wedge."

Kon explained to Kerii that he was here because his girlfriend had asked him to come and mentioned that he was going to complete a few jobs as well. He also commented that there was an abundance of jobs in Magnolia too, which was great news for Kerii. She really needed to get some jobs done if she was going to be one of the best healers in Fiore. She didn't even know if that goal was attainable, but she would still try. "Well that's good then," Kerii said, referring to the quests. Not only was it good that there were a lot in Magnolia for her to take, but there was also a great variety to choose from. Maybe there would even be a quest that needed someone who could heal or at least involved healing. She would take that one in a heart beat.

The waiter came by and asked what they would like to drink. Kon said that he would like an apple pear cider and then it was time for Kerii to order. "I'll just have a lemon water please," she replied, not really being a huge fan of some of the other things on the menu. After she ordered, she thought of another question to ask Kon. "So, you said that you were also going to do some jobs here. Are you a mage too?" It was entirely possible that he was not a mage and was just someone who completed jobs while using weapons to do the harder ones, but Kon just didn't seem like that type of person. At least, that's what she got from his first impression.

Looking out at the pond to the side of them, he listened as Kerii order her drink, a rather plain request of lemon water. He, himself didn't mind the drink but preferred either regular water itself or some other refreshment altogether. As the waiter left his attention drew back towards the elf with her questioning him as to whether he was a mage or not. That was no need to lie to her however he would at least refrain from telling the entire potential of his magic. "Yes, I am also a mage, focusing primarily on light-based magic, largely in a supportive role. If you don't mind me asking are you affiliated with any group or organisation?, I can assume you're not a member of the Fairy Tail Guild from our conversation." Looking at the woman, he noticed after perhaps too long for what it should have taken him, a purple diamond marking on her forehead. Curious about what it was, he commented on it indirectly. "Couldn't help but notice that marking on your head is it a cultural thing, religious for instance."

"I am really bad at this." He thought to himself, as he felt that the conversation had swift gone down hill though that was yet to be seen. Fortunately, the waiter returned with a swift stride carrying their drinks on a pan, placing Kerri's drink down first and then his own with a chilled glass. Wanting a healthy tip at the end of their service, he bowed and spoke to the two of them. "Enjoy your drink while you decide on something to eat."

Kon was indeed a mage just like Kerii was. In addition to that, they were even more similar (or so she thought) because Kon said that his magic was very supportive. "Oh, you're a supportive mage too?" She meant it more as a statement than a question. There weren't many supportive mages out there. A lot of them preferred to fight with their magic and it made them seem more powerful than any other supportive mage, which was understandable, but it frequently annoyed Kerii when only the mages who were skilled at causing damage were in the spotlight when a healer who could heal those damaged by an extremely powerful mage were kept in the shadows. It wasn't a very well appreciated magic in Kerii's experience, but it was an important one.

Following Kon's response about his magic, he went on to ask Kerii if she was in some organization like a guild. Kerii nodded her head. She saw no harm in telling Kon what guild she belonged to. "I'm from Lamia Scale," she explained. "Are you from a guild as well?" It was a strong possibility. Lots of mages were in guilds, but then again, some weren't like Videns. Some were Rune Knights though, which weren't exactly always on the best terms with certain guilds that frequently caused damage to people's properties during quests.

Kon said that he couldn't help but notice the purple diamond shaped mark on her forehead and asked if it was cultural or related to her religion perhaps. "Oh, it isn't exactly cultural. Most elves don't have one, but some do. It's kind of a tradition within my family and a couple other ones as well. In my family, once someone learns their magic they're supposed to get this mark on their forehead as a symbol of their magic and once we're strong enough, a certain spell is supposed to react with it in some way. Do Nekos have any sort of traditions or...?" Kerii honestly didn't know much about Nekos, but from what she could tell, they were generally accepted than elves. They seemed to have stronger relationships with humans than elves did.

Whilst Kon wasn't an avid fan of lying he didn't overly mind doing so, so when Kerii followed up with his response of also being a supportive mage, he asked promptly. "I'm not very good can only really do a few basic things here and there aside from that I'm pretty weak." Honestly, it was the truth he could only do a few things or well one thing in particular. The conversation then moved onto her explaining how yes she was apart of a group, Lamia Scale. He himself hadn't really had any involvement with the guild itself, however, he suspected that he would if their current interaction was anything to work off of. As the organisation he was working for, the Holy Knights was a Secret one, he instead commented on how he instead bent the truth once more. "I'm a member of the Rune Knights, a Seated Knight in fact."

These two facts revealed a far amount of about Kon though how much would be read into them only time would tell. Kerii however openly discussed the meaning of the marking on her forehead, saying it was just a part of her own family rather than a societal thing. "Understandable." He commented middle way through, just as he was questioned about his own race and whether it had its own significant differences from both elves and humans. He didn't really know himself having just become a Neko reluctantly only just recently. "I'm unfamiliar with the Neko society on the whole as I am not a natural born one merely created by accident, as for whether i enjoy being one well let's just say i haven't got used to the tail and ears."

Kon told Kerii that he was a member of the Rune Knights and that, more specifically, he was a Seated Knight. Kerii didn't know all about the ranks within the Rune Knights of Magic Council, but it sounded important. If Kon really claimed to be only good at a select few spells but was weak in all other aspects, then how would he get to be a Seated Knight? Maybe it wasn't hard to become a Seated Knight, but what did Kerii know? She was never a Rune Knight. All she knew was that the Magic Council and guilds either did or didn't get along and mostly the guild masters handled affairs with them, so Kerii had never had any first hand experience with a Rune Knight or a Magic Council member.

When Kerii explained the mark on her forehead was a tradition through her family and was not directly linked to elves, Kon said that it was understandable. However, when Kerii asked Kon if nekos had any sort of traditions, he said that he was not a natural born neko, which surprised Kerii. She didn't know that people could become nekos. She simply thought that everyone was just born one. Kon did say that he hadn't gotten used to his ears and tail yet.

As Kerii drank some more of her water, she came to realize that she had forgotten all about the time. "Oh my gosh, I completely forgot about the time." Kerii looked at the wall clock in the café. "I'm really sorry Kon, but I have to go." Kerii quickly got out of her seat and hurried out the door. She felt bad for not giving Kon a better explanation, but if she didn't hurry, she really was going to be late.

And so it seemed, Kerii would be leaving the man by himself having given him such a lousy excuse for missing the time. "Bah." He thought to himself although smiled to her nonetheless as she made her leave. Wanting to leave on the best of states he would merely accept the apology and not pry into the matter any further. "Not at all, we all make mistakes, though I hope that we will meet each other at a later date, Regardless of the reason I hope you resolve it to the best of your ability."

With him all alone, he couldn't feel slightly downtrodden of course he had Alice and a few other close friends but he wanted to expand his horizons. "Oh well, I guess I'll just have some lunch by myself before returning to the bed and breakfast." Casually drinking his cider, one of the waiters came to him slightly perplexed about the disappearance of his dining partner, he saw little issue responded with simply. "She had some pressing matters to attend with, most likely a job that she had taken as was behind schedule." The waiter nodding understanding spoke to him once more. "Will you still be eating or just the drink?" Chuckling to himself, he responded swiftly. "No, I think I'll just grab something quick and then head out on my own, just a side of loaded fries will be sufficient." Noting down the request he promptly went to the kitchen, eating the aforementioned meal, Kon left the cafe feeling content with his meal selection.
