Alaric had been asked to come to Talaz Lagaar to assist with some issues that the island community had been plagued with, an actual plague. He had tied a bandana around his face, Bron mimicked him and tied one around his own. The two had used a transport teleportation gem to skip the journey by boat or airship. It seemed that the client wanted to spare no expense in the assistance of their people. “I’m not too sure why we were asked to come here, Bron. Maybe they just didn’t have any other available members.” As the two approached a small encampment, they were met with men dressed in way more protective gear than either of them. “Halt. This camp is off-limits to civilians. What business do you have?” Alaric’s face scrunched at their words. They asked him here, not the other way around. Still, he wouldn’t get this over with quickly if he pushed back on them too much.

“Yeesh, y’all sure are edge around here.”’ He took a step forward and they took one back. A faint smirk appeared. They were more afraid of him than he was of them. Bron fluttered beside him. Alaric slid a hand into his front pocket. The men, immediately lowered their two weapons towards him, as if they were ready to run him through. “Chill, chill. I’m just getting the request that was sent to Paradise Dawn to come and aid you all. Trust me, I didn’t choose to come to this sort of place.” He pulled out the quest’s request and handed it to the one who seemed to be in charge. He looked over the paper for a moment and had a furrowed brow. “I didn’t realize Paradise Dawn would send somebody so quickly. Sorry, please come in.” The two men parted and allowed Alaric and Bron to enter their encampment.

Alaric was led through the camp. It was depressing. There were many people just lying outside the tents. Clearly, suffering from something. Alaric and Bron drew closer to each other. [i]Yeesh, do I get hazard pay for this crap?”[/color] He thought to himself annoyed by the whole situation. The two were led to a large dull grey and green tent that sat near the back of the camp. As they progressed towards it, he noticed that the number of sick people seemed to decrease. Well, that wasn’t true. They were still sickly but they looked healthier than those closer to the front. “These are those that are close to being allowed out of the camp and considered immune to the plague.” The guard commented, almost reading Alaric’s mind. “Interestingng.” He replied. Not really have anything else to contribute to this conversation. “Wait here, the doc is inside.” Alaric shifted his weight to his side and crossed his arms. He’d rather not be stuck out here with the sick people, but lord knows what was inside that tent. It reeked of death. He could smell it from here.

He didn’t have to wait long. The Doc showed herself after five or so minutes. She was moderately aged but attractive. Her left eye robotic, as was her right hand and it looked like possibly her legs. He wasn’t certain due to her long surgical outfit. “The mage?” her tone was condescending. Alaric shifted his weight to his other hips as Bron latched into his back. “You presume right. Now, report said you needed somebody to disburse the medication. You have the supplies or what? I’m not trying to stick around sick people for long lady.”

Her lips pursed and her gaze tightened. “Yes, very well. Right this way. We’ve got a cart ready.” she walked further back to the rear of the large tent where several motorized vehicles sat. Each with large silver metallic boxes stacked. Alaric was shown to the one he’d be escorting. It seemed they could drive themselves but needed aid if they come across obstacles or rough terrain. Easy enough gig.

Alaric took an inspection of the strange device before he took the controls and manual. Bron promptly sat on the crates and waited for his free ride to start. Once he felt comfortable with it all, Alaric and Bron set out. The left out the rear of the camp and made their way down the path towards the settlements that they were charged with. It wasn’t going to take too long to get there. As they passed some homes, Alaric noticed a stack of suitcases, almost as if they were waiting for somebody to come get them. Upon further inspection, he noticed they were rather grimy and seemed to have been abandoned there. He started to go through them, to see if there was anything worth maybe snagging. Low and behold there was. A strange suit and tophat were sitting there, all perfect. Among the clothes, they seemed to be lavish and rare. It was wild. Alaric slipped them on and instantly, his mind started racing and in one direction. Wealth. This stuff, it made him money-hungry. He knew then, that he needed to be insanely wealthy before he would be happy in life.

Alaric noticed Bron had kept tugging at the coat and top hat that Alaric had slipped on. The materials were nice enough to peak that treasure-hungry critter to stir. He waved him off and the two kept advancing down the pathway towards the community waiting for the shipment of medication. Along the way, Alaric only had to assist the robot driving tool a few times. One of which was only due to a large tree blocking the road. A small bomb was good enough to get the obstacle out.

Once they reached the settlement, Alaric started to hand out the medication to those who were in charge. He kept his distance, for fear of catching the disease. Once the last package was dropped off and dispensed, Alaric and Bron got the cart situated and started their trek back to the main camp. It wasn’t too long of a walk. Once they had returned the robocar, they gathered their rewards and left to head back to Paradise Dawn. Alaric wanted a nice long hot bath and some immune boosters.
