The pace that they were moving, when she was told by the mysterious man that he would provide quick passage to Crocus, never could she have imagined that it would have been this quick. Not that she were at all complaining about the circumstances. Reaching Crocus was imperative. That the man was as willing to provide the assistance to Astrid was nothing short of a saving grace, one that would have afforded her a chance to preserve a future that even if she did not want, was one that she should have had agency over. Looking out the window of the secured car, the shadows of dimly-lit trees moving quick throughout her vantage, she wondered just what would have motivated things to change.
