Nana walked casually up the inclined path towards the ascending mountain's peak. The peak of this particular mountain was so tall that it was impossible to see unless there were no clouds. For the pinnacle of this mountains nearly pierced the heavens as if it were a spear. Today was a cloudy day and the peak of the mountain was hidden, as was usual. Yet Nana knew there were lovely things atop this mountain, which urged her to take this trip. Namely, Nana had heard of the almost divine tree at the peak of the mountain. It was so magnificent, that even monks gathered to protect and tend to it.

Due to this tree, tourism was mildly encouraged but the safety of the tree was enforced. With the small amount of tourism present, the monks had created a source of revenue to accomodate their pious lifestyle. They had found a natural hotspring and turned it into a resort.

It was a wise decision, one Nana respected even. As a business owner of sorts herself, she could appreciate the hustle. The monks were simple but wise- almost enviable, yet Nana had greater aspirations.

Nana had two companions with her as she trudged up the steep mountain path. The first companion was a fellow Akudama Syndicate member, lower on the toem pole or pecking order... but higher in ambition and strength than several of the guild. Techtile, a demihuman. A fellow adventurer, like Nana. The biggest differences were their personality and origins. While Nana was a Daemon born of the daemons from two separate countries and raised int he slums, Techtile was a bio-engineered marvel. To further that marvelous creation, Techtile had aquired a cyborg body from all of the chaos of the current series of events that surrounded Talaz Lagaar.

Nana's second companion was one of the monks. A simple robed elderly man with a bqald head. though old in age, Nana could tell that his body was anything but senior, his mind anything but senile. His movements were lithe and his awarenses was keen. He was accustomed to this mountain trail, occasionally pointing out a perilous spot or a beautiful scenery.

Nana didn't know techtile all too well, but she had watched the young Akudama Syndicate member climbing in their ranks. nana had the urge to mentor the young reptile woman a bit: that was the reason for their visit to this mountain this day. "Once we reach the top of the mountain, we can ease our weariness at the hot springs and then go check out that famous tree." Nana would say suddenly, interrupting the monk as she spoke to Techtile.

The monk's footsteps faltered for a moment, a notion that Nana did not miss. She walked ever so silently, even as they traveled up the mountain path- a evident sign that she was no mere tourist, but a seasoned warrior. Yet she had no weapons on her person. Just a strange little greeen and white exceed which seemed to be shy most of the time and hide in Nana's hair. "Ah.. I'm afraid you won't be able to see the tree today, ladies. We're renovating the area for tourists. We had some trouble in the past with vandalism, so we're cleaning up and making it more secure." the monk would say with an explanation.

Nana didn't even raised her eyebrow. Sure she thought that should be something you lead a tourist guide with so that the tourists don't get their hopes up and then dashed to pieces. In the blink of an eye, Nana's two gunblades appeared in her hands and she pulled the triggers as she leveld them on the monk in front of her. Without missing a heartbeat, Nana shot the man in the back of both of his knees. With his kneecaps shattered, he tumbled to the ground on the path and nearly screamed in pain and terror. Nana was the swifter one and by the time he had fallen, her foot had been raised and stomped down on the man's mouth to prevent him from screaming or alerting any possible nearby travelers. "What I said is not up for debate, monk." she would say in a vehemot tone and then press down with her heel with such force that the man's spine gave a sickening crack and then he went limp.

Nana was infamously known for her brutality and lack of compassion. A point she wished to make clear, now, for Techtile. "We will continue on with our plans, Tech." she would say with authority and confidence. She gave a swift kick to the corpse beneath her and kicked it off the side of the path and into the deep dark crevice below their path. She stowed her weapons in her magical space with a flick of her wrists and continued on up the path.
