Atani had to admit... This time, she didn't quite mind that Yuan currently occupied her body. And she didn't mean that in the normal 'goddess speaking to her in her head' kind of way (she hated how that was considered 'normal' now). She meant it in the 'goddess is currently in control of her body' kind of way. And the best part? When this happened, nobody could tell.

The face of Atani was gone. Her short blonde hair and emerald green eyes had been replaced with long silver locks and eyes of gold. With a completely different set of facial features, the only similarities that remained between the two were her pointed elven ears and her height of 165 centimetres. Those two traits were not something unique to Yuan... She wasn't an elf. She wasn't part of the elven pantheon. But when she fused with Atani, she obtained a new form via symbiosis.

When it came to operations within Talaz Lagaar, Atani and Yuan had reached an understanding. Neither of them thought the Fabricator was being used to its fullest potential in the hands of the Loyalists, but Atani couldn't let her reputation in Talaz Lagaar suffer. She had already helped the citizens of Talaz Lagaar so much, and many of them were Loyalists as well... But none of them knew Yuan. Thus, Yuan made herself known to the Third Movement and the Third Movement only. The hardest part, however, was making sure Atani didn't emerge.

She was still the dominant persona, so to speak. It was easier for Yuan to emerge whenever Atani became emotional or angered, but Atani did a damn good job at keeping a level head most of the time. Even if Atani 'let' her front, it was often hard to keep her form if her emotions ran low.

But for now... She was doing alright. And that was good, because Yuan was currently waiting to meet with a scientist named Nadia, who was supposedly a defector of the Loyalists. She claimed to have worked closely with others on the Fabricator, but became disillusioned when she realized her goals and wishes as a scientist did not align with the Loyalists'. She believed the Fabricator could be used for so much more and help so many others, but none of that would be possible in the hands of the Loyalists. She wholeheartedly believed the Third Movement was the key to realizing her desires.

Or at least, that's what she told the Movement.

It was Yuan's task to meet Nadia and fold her into the Third Movement. Between herself and Atani-- neglecting the fact Yuan was the only one officially in the Movement-- she was probably the better choice for this task anyway.

Yuan stood in wait at the alley. She wore her traditional tattered black clothes, the ones she emerged from the void in-- she really needed to take over Atani's body sometime and go shopping for new ones. Her hood was pulled over her silver locks, and her pointed horns stuck out through slits in the fabric. She had informed Nadia what to be on the lookout for, and she wagered there would be no mistaking her for anyone else; there were not many people in the world who looked quite like the Goddess of Mercy.

Eventually, Yuan saw a woman in a dark trench coat duck into the alley. She wore her hair in a pixie cut and donned a pair of rectangular rimmed glasses.

"Nadia?" Yuan asked, stepping out of the shadows. The woman gasped and took a step back. Was it the horns? It was always the horns…

Yuan slowly took off her hood. Upon realizing this was her contact from the Third Movement, Nadia let out a sigh and stepped back forward.

"I apologize, I just thought..."

"It's alright," Yuan reassured the woman. She spoke Fiorian with the Talaz Lagaar accent, which helped to confirm Nadia may indeed have the experience she claimed to have.

"Come with me. We can't talk out in the open."

She waved her hand to usher the scientist her way. She hurried along, looking quite nervous as she did so. She constantly looked around, as if she was afraid of being watched.

"Just act natural and you'll be fine," she muttered to Nadia.

"Right, right... Sorry."

Yuan's suggestion didn't hold very long. Nadia took a deep breath as if to calm herself, but she quickly went back to seeming anxious and paranoid. Yuan just shook her head and continued to lead Nadia to the meeting point.

Miraculously, they managed to arrive without drawing any suspicion. Before they entered, however, Yuan turned to Nadia.

"I apologize, this is just for safety measures." She took a step towards the scientist.

"W- What is?" she stammered, voice raising in alarm. She gasped as Yuan blew a puff of magic dust into her face. She coughed for a moment, then collapsed. Yuan caught Nadia in her arms and proceeded to enter one of the Third Movement's hideouts. Once inside, she set the woman down on a chair and blew a different colored powder to awaken her.

Nadia awoke with a start and frantically looked around.

"Hey, it's okay, you're safe," Yuan told Nadia. "We tend to try to keep these locations a secret from the Loyalists and Separatists... I hope you understand."

"But... But I'm not-- "

"You were, but don't worry. You'll be let in soon enough."

They just needed to finish the vetting process.

"What do I need to do... You know, to be let in?" Nadia wondered.

"I'm so glad you asked," Yuan smiled. She stepped over towards a nearby table and grabbed the file sitting on top. She opened it and briefly thumbed through the papers to make sure everything was there before handing it to Nadia.

"We have a task for you. Think of it as an... initiation of sorts, to prove you're not really still with the Loyalists."

She handed the file to Nadia and waited for her to read through it all. The scientist opened the folder and readjusted her glasses before beginning to read. As she did, she squinted her eyes slightly and knit her brows.

"This is... ambitious," she began. Yuan nodded. "But doable."

She finished reading the papers within the file and then closed the folder. Taking a breath to compose herself, she looked at Yuan with determination.

Nadia-- Doctor Nadia-- was a brilliant scientist. There was no doubt in Yuan's mind that she had the technical skills to pull off this mission, but there was the matter of the doctor's not so technical skills... The woman couldn't hide a damn thing; people could read her like an open book. Yuan began to wonder if she should accompany the doctor, just to make sure. Or rather, she wondered if Atani should.

"De charathon," Atani spoke from within Yuan's mind. "If she needs it, at least... Which I think she may."

"Mára..." Yuan so loved the Elvarin language. It rolled off the tongue so much nicer than the Val'Elvarin Atani was so insistent on speaking.

"If you need an out... there will be a Wood Elf with short blonde hair at the facility," Yuan briefly explained. "She's the only one to my recollection. There will be no mistaking her."

Nadia nodded her head and repeated back what Yuan said.

"A Wood Elf with short blonde hair... Got it. Won't be too hard to remember."

Even if she forgot the 'short blonde hair' part, there weren't many elves period in Talaz Lagaar, so Atani often stuck out like a sore thumb. And besides, unbeknownst to Doctor Nadia, Atani knew exactly who she would be looking for when the time came to fulfill the mission.

The mission itself was rather straightforward. Nadia would go into work as normal and slip a hack into the system. When successfully implemented, it would feed the Third Movement all sorts of information about the Fabricator, and thus, about the Loyalists and their uses for the system. Nadia was theoretically the perfect person for the job. With her position at the facility, she would be able to get close with the high-level security systems the Movement couldn't get their hands on before.

It would be a similar mission to Atani's in a way-- a little espionage to help gain control of the Fabricator-- but if successful, it would provide the Third Movement with far more information, and better quality information at that. Highly classified intel. Yuan couldn't wait to see the fruits of their efforts.

"Oh, and before you leave..." Yuan stepped close to Nadia. "Sorry about this. Again."

She blew the dust into the doctor's face to knock her out once more before leaving the hideout. She caught the woman and carried her out, only reviving her once they were a sufficient distance away from the entrance.

"You know, I guess it could be worse," Nadia shrugged. "Better than a syringe with drugs."

"Yes, I much prefer this dust myself," Yuan smiled as she rubbed the powder between her fingers.

She watched as Nadia headed out. Once the doctor was out of sight, Yuan twisted her ring and morphed into a bird. She flew towards the facility.

She landed in a spot where she could not be seen and morphed back into her human form. And when she changed, she was no longer Yuan, but Atani. Or at least, she tried to turn into Atani. Having not been fused together all that long, it still took some time for a complete physical change to happen, especially after morphing from an animal species to an elven one. But eventually, she got her form right, and Atani was herself once more.

Having flown in the form of a bird to the facility, she had arrived well before Nadia and went to work under the guise of being a Loyalist. It wasn't too much longer, however, before Nadia arrived. Atani kept a close eye on the scientist, making sure she wasn't drawing too much attention to herself. So far, it appeared she was doing just fine. Maybe the work environment was more comforting to her than the alleyway.

Atani kept a careful eye on the doctor. It seemed that she wasn't delving straight into the mission, which might have been a good thing. Depending on her typical work schedule, it might arouse suspicion if she headed straight for the information centre to plant the hack. But eventually, she made her way in there, and again so far everything seemed to be going rather smoothly. Though Atani did not know the typical behavior of the doctor, nothing stood out to her as blatantly suspicious, unlike how she acted in the alley. Maybe now Nadia finally learned to calm her nerves.

It wasn't exactly atypical for Atani to be in the information centre, but she did have to wait a bit before entering to make it not as obvious she was following Nadia around. Once she did enter, she mostly kept to herself, only occasionally looking Nadia's way to check in on her progress.

There was one point, Atani noticed, when Nadia seemed to check if anyone was looking her way. Aside from Atani, it didn't appear that anyone was, so Nadia got to work furiously typing away. The elf began to walk closer, keeping an eye on anyone walking by. There were a few instances where she strategically placed herself in a position to obstruct people's view, sometimes opening a book or large file to read for extra coverage. But then, it seemed Nadia didn't need it anymore.

The scientist stood up from her seat. Atani could see her hands visibly shaking as they gripped the top of her chair. Nadia took a couple breaths to calm herself before letting go and leaving the centre. Atani followed closely behind. Once they were in a good spot, she pulled the doctor to the side.

"Did you do it?" she whispered under her breath. Nadia silently nodded her head.

"Great work."
