Sentinel


Sentinels are extremely observant mages who have always made excellent guards, watchers, and defenders. Their keen senses help them in anticipating the possibility and source of damage, and they use their magic preemptively to prevent their comrades from having to sustain and endure fatal wounds.

Fighting sentinels are akin to fighting fortresses. They can weave their magic in a manner that allows them to create sturdy shields, which can be maneuvered around the battlefield, granting protection to those who need it. Additionally, they may also aid by offering seemingly impermeable magical defenses that grant an armor-like shield, making the target a force to be reckoned with. While their defensive nature prevents the sentinels from using their magic offensively, the sentinels make for powerful allies.

Spell Types


  • Superior: Defensive
  • Normal: Offensive, Self-Buff, Other-Buff, Supplementary

Feats

Full-bodied shields: The maximum size for Defensive-type spells, including Area of Effect spells, is doubled.
Moving Shields: Sentinels can cast Defensive-type spells that can move within their range. Their spell speed is increased by 10m/s.
One Sided Defense: The Sentinel's other spells phase through their Defensive spells without damaging them.

Specializations



  • Enforcer: Defensive spells of the user are considered one rank higher and have a minor resistance to physical attacks, this modifier stacks with other durability increases.

  • Guardian: The user gains limited access to their Off-hand slot allowing them to wield Shields, shields held by Guardians receive any elemental resistances that the user possesses up to minor resistance.

  • Champion: Upon dealing damage to the user’s defensive spells, the source will receive damage equivalent to two ranks lower the damage dealt. The damage applies instantly and doesn't go through armor or orther defenses. Any damage dealt is calculated after the source’s resistances and weakness, this does not carry over any modifiers that the damage came with.
