Kalec
Upon checking the local quest board, Kalec found one quest that was a topic of interest. There were a handful of others that began to stare at him as if he was deranged. He asked them if something was wrong, and they would ignore him and walk away quickly. He became curious as to why, he was being treated like this. He just shrugged it off, for him a job was a job. Stepping outside the weather was a bit gloomy, an overcast sky, and it slowly begun to rain. He looked down at the job flier and back up to the sky. "What a lovely day this is" he said sarcastically as he pulled up his hood, and began walking.

The streets were fairly empty due to the weather, and Kalec was beginning to get soaked as the rain continued. He began running through the streets, it took him awhile to get from one end of the city to the top of the hill. While running up the path, the old mansion came into view. He sighed with relieve, he had arrived. Kalec walked up the stone path leading to the front porch. He was finally able to get some what out of the rain. He turned the handle only to find that the door wouldn't budge. Thinking that it could have just been locked, he ran around the side of the house and tried the backdoor. He was met with the same outcome.

Kalec
Kalec remembered before walking up the path, that there was a front balcony that possibly led to two different rooms, with a window in the middle. He searched around the property and found a ladder. He carried it around to the front and slowly climbed his way up. Upon reaching the top of the ladder, he was met by a shadowy figure standing directly in the middle of the window. "W-what the hell!" he shouted as he was startled by the sight of the figure, he lost his balance and fell to the ground. Standing up slowly, he noticed that the front door began to slowly open.

He was creeped out as he knew that it was locked, and now it opened as if it were inviting him in. Kalec was a bit relieved to get out of the rain, He was a bit uneasy entering the place, especially after seeing whatever or whoever was staring back at him from the window. He walked inside taking down his hood "Hey thanks for letting me in.." he said out loud, thinking he would be met with the person who let him in. He was met with nothing. Kalec began to walk around the first floor, but as soon as he entered the first room, the front door slammed shut behind him. The noise from it seemed to echo all through out the house, breaking the eerie silence. Kalec jumped and looked back at the front door, but no one was there.

He continued walking around the first floor, he found himself in a spectacular kitchen, there was a dining table off to the opposite side. He noticed that a steamy bowl of soup was sat out, surely someone had to be in the house, if there was fresh food. He continued his search, calling out as he walked through. Kalec started to grow uneasy as he was continuously met with silence. He made his way back to the foyer, as he passed the stairs the laugh of what seemed to be a young child rang out. The hairs on his arm began to stand up. "H-hello?" he called out, his voice quivering. The laughter seemed to be coming from the upper floor, Kalec reluctantly began climbing the stairs, as he took his first step the laugh rang out again. ("This is it, I'm going to die") He thought to himself with each step.

Kalec started looking all around the second floor, but he couldn't find anyone. He entered the hallway where he first saw the shadowy figure, but it was empty. He searched both rooms that connected to the balcony, both rooms were empty. Kalec exited the bedroom, and heard a sound coming from the opposite hallway by the staircase. He quickly ran back to check, as he turned the corner he saw what looked like a smokey figure darting towards the stairs. He couldn't see exactly what the figure was, but it was low to ground. He got to the top of the staircase, but he didn't see the smokey mass anymore, then another chime of the child like laugh echo. The laugh was then followed up by another door slamming. he made his way down the stairs as fast as he could.

He knew that there was only a few possibilities. He began to check every door in search of the shadowy creature. The only door he hadn't checked yet, was the door he assumed lead to the basement, as it was located along the wall of the staircase . He grabbed the handle taking a deep breath as he slowly opened it. Kalec looked down the stairs all he could see was a wooden railing on the side of the wall leading down, it was too dark to see anything else.

He slowly made his descent holding onto the railing. The further he went the darker it got. He began to see a faint eerie purple glow emanating from the furthest corner of the room. He carefully approached it. Once he got close enough he was able to make out the source of it. The source of it was a magical staff of some kind. The staff was made out of dark colored wood that had small branches on both ends of it holding purple crystals in the shape of stars, the crystal on top of the staff was larger and in the shape of a crescent moon.  Kalec reached down to pick it up and as he was about to grab it, what looked like a black colored fox with glowing yellow eyes, jumped out and stood between Kalec and the staff. Startled Kalec reared back looking at the creature unsure of if it was hostile or not. The fox looked as if it was smiling, it opened it's mouth and instead of a normal cry, the child like laughter rang out. Kalec's face turned red out of embarrassment that he was scared by this creature. ("Son of a bi-") he thought to himself as his embarrassment quickly turned into anger as he stomped on the moon shaped crystal shattering it.

The darkness in the room subsided and the creature that had once been there let out the same laughter as it slowly began to fade away. The house returned back to normal, the windows and doors to the outside no longer sealed by magic. Kalec left the staff laying in the basement as he exited the house, and made his way to the clients shop. He explained everything that had happened, the shop keeper laughed about it. He went on to thank Kalec for helping solve the issue and gave him his reward.
