Well, here he was. His travels led him to Orchidia. Not a place he was all too familiar with. He was here mostly in passing once years ago. Everything was largely unfamiliar as the place changed last time he breezed through here. But all the same he hoped to make the best he can out of this. Why he was here? Well, he was looking for a guild to join funnily enough. That was his little personal mission. To get some experience and to pass the time with people.
He sort of needed to occupy his time.
Now whether it was a legal guild or a dark one was irrelevant. Both benefited him one way or another. Both helped him achieve a goal. Not a single goal. But each one helped him with one. Though he doubted a legal guild would accept him, even though he served his time. Though perhaps they would. Who knows.
Still, he wasnt quite sure. Perhaps he can ask around for information

It was around noon as Ikazuchi made his way through the streets of Orchidia after his daily training. As summer was arriving, the warmth and humidity made the seemingly nice day slightly uncomfortable for the man due to his heavy armor. While it did little to hinder his movements, he couldn’t resist seriously considering remodeling the equipment to possess temperature control functionality. ‘I’ll think about that when I get back…’ His attention shifted towards a particular direction as he caught sight of a man lurking in the shadows appraising him.

Despite the faint shimmer of magic, Ikazuchi ignored the man’s invisibility and made eye contact with an amused smile as if to say ‘I see you’. This silent confrontation continued for a few moments before the invisible mage realized that he had been discovered. As he was simply an observer, he immediately turned to flee after this realization.

Ikazuchi’s amused expression gradually shifted to ridicule as he immediately pursued the still invisible man into the dark alleyway. He didn’t care who the observer was, he wasn’t someone who would peacefully accept someone lurking around him so close to his home. As a wanted man, he expected such treatment elsewhere. What would be considered brave elsewhere could only be described as stupidity in Orchidia, especially for a man without any guild affiliation.

Ikazuchi immediately formed footholds below his feet as he sprinted into the air avoiding the obstacles littering the surroundings. By the time he and the man reached the other end of the alley, Ikazuchi had descended and was directly behind him with hand shooting forward towards the back of the man’s head. Just as the pair exited the alley into one of the main streets, Ikazuchi’s hand made contact as he controlled the direction of the man’s head to arc downward into the ground with his full strength.

Without caring for the man’s current condition, Ikazuchi surveyed his surroundings for any more threats that may be lurking around. It was then that he caught sight of another stranger among the civilians that were mostly unaffected by his actions. The distinct white hair and gray eyes immediately earned his focus as he registered the man’s name among the various information that flowed into his head during that time. ‘Alexandre’.

Ikazuchi proceeded to use his left hand that captured the still-invisible pursuer to lift and slam the man’s head in the ground until the spell was finally released. He didn’t care for whether the man had succumbed to his injuries or simply fallen unconscious as he leisurely stood straight, lifting his captive and pointing his face towards the white haired man. “Hey, are you with him?” As both men were unaffiliated, he couldn’t rule out the possibility as Alexandre was a man with a rather rare magic. He would decide how he would handle both his captive and the white haired stranger after receiving an answer to his question.

Orchidia, if there was one thing that was for sure, it was that it was full action. The minstreli saw that one person was dealing with an invisible person. He was mostly an observer that was amused by the happening. It wouldnt be long until the visible one caught the invisible one. And proceeded to slam his head to the ground to dispel the spell. Now that was a fun one.

Though it seemed that the captor asked him directly, if he was affiliated with the knocked out one.
"Nope. Never saw him. Do with him as you will" he said casually with a shrug

But now considering he has the guys attention, he might as well use it
"Hey. Since you're here. You seem like an able bodied man. Are you by any chance with a guild?" he asked. Why waste time wandering around. Just get the nearest person and ask them. Now was he picky on a guild? Nah. Any would suffice, and the sooner he gets there the better. Anything was better than being an aimless wanderer. A guild can give him a solid goal

Ikazuchi had somewhat expected the answer that he received. Too many details suggested that the two wouldn’t have any shared affiliation. It would be beyond brave for a bounty hunter to appear in Orchidia unarmed with the intent to capture him. He gave a simple nod of acknowledgement after accepting the answer before checking the surroundings for any additional enemies. He would retreat into the less populated alley if there were any signs of danger, that way he could avoid involving as many of the civilians as possible if a battle broke out.

He was thankful to discover the lack of individuals hiding in the area as Alexandre asked a question of his own. Ikazuchi’s gaze that had been wandering in search of an ambush found its way back to the man’s face. There was a mix of confusion and amusement due to the question that was asked. While it wouldn’t be accurate to call himself particularly well-known for any specific deed, there wasn’t any denying the bounty that he had accrued over the years. This only further confirmed that the man wasn’t associated with the one he had captured a short time ago. Ikazuchi’s expression shifted once more to a friendly smile, the hand holding the man having lowered as Alexandre spoke. “I am.” After answering casually, Ikazuchi turned toward the direction behind Alexandre and took a step while motioning him with his right hand to follow along. He didn’t want to continue standing awkwardly on the street talking, so he was attempting to have the man continue the conversation while they walked.

“Why do you ask?” Ikazuchi would ask this question as he intentionally matched the man’s pace. Even if he chose not to follow, that would simply mean the three men would remain where they were. As for where Ikazuchi intended to go, that was naturally the Sleeping Calamity Guild Hall. Whether the man was there as a friend or foe, the guild would naturally welcome him accordingly. Granted, Ikazuchi considered the man to be a prospective recruit rather than a foolhardy challenger. ‘...Should I just drag him along too?’ Ikazuchi had this thought lingering in the back of his mind as he considered what to do if Alexandre chose to remain where they were.

It was an expected answer, the he and the unconcious man did not look like they affiliate in any manner. Usually you'd tell somehow, like by body language, guild mark or even just the outfit they wear. People who work together tend to have similar gear because they tend to work together and have the same source when it comes to gearing up.
But no, Alexandre was no bounty hunter or anything the like. No, he was like the opposite of what a bounty hunter was. Sort of.

Still, since he had the guys attention, he wanted to make the best of it and asked him if he was with a guild. And thankfully the answer was a positive one. The guy also seemed to have a more relaxed expression, lot more friendly and not as openly weary and cautious as before. But now once they sort of entered conversation. He gestured Alexandre to follow him. The wanderer crossed his hands and nodded and went to follow the guy. Now he was the one that was more on guard. Again, he didnt really know what he was getting into. But he was ready if things go south

As they traversed together, naturally the guild man would say why does he ask. And he answered "I intend to join a guild." he spoke in a relativelly 'matter of fact' kind of tone.
His intentions were clear. He wanted to be in a guild. No ulterior motive. He just wanted to call a guild hall a home and wanted to see what was it like being in a guild and get experience from whatever people at guilds tend to do.

“You want to join a guild?” Ikazuchi glanced at the man again as he tried to understand why the older man would seek out a guild now, after all of these years. ‘Oh well, it’s not my problem.’ Turning his gaze forward, Ikazuchi continued to speak a moment later without giving Alexandre time to respond. “Sleeping Calamity is the only guild you’ll find in Orchidia, and it’s the guild that I’m a member of.” It was a casual mention intended to give him insight into how Alexandre may feel about the guild considering its general status in the world.

After observing any reaction, or lack thereof, Ikazuchi would continue on with a brief introduction to the guild. “As a dark guild, it’s completely possible that you will deal with trash like this guy;” Ikazuchi noticeably raised and shook the limp body carried by his left hand for the older man to see. “Even if you aren’t committing crimes, you’ll be considered guilty by association.” So far, Ikazuchi’s words seemed to be entirely negative. Almost as if intended to convince the man to reconsider, but he wasn’t finished speaking. “Despite all of that, do you know why people like myself gather there?” He couldn’t help but pause as he recalled his own reason for joining, unintentionally building suspense.

“It's freedom; you don’t have to change yourself in order to fit into the structure of the guild. It doesn’t matter if you’re good or evil, the guild can accommodate you regardless of things like that. Only your own strength is important. You could even be the Guild Master if you’re strong enough and desire it.” He didn’t add his own feelings to the last sentence, but he personally felt that it wasn’t a position worth having. Taking responsibility and managing a guild full of people like himself would only cause him a headache. There wasn’t another guild that he could imagine himself in, but he had no interest in becoming a leader.

He seemed surprised that he wanted to join the guild. At least thats what the first question sentence thing made him think. Why else say You want to join a guild?
Anywho, he said he was part of Sleeping Calamity, which was the local guild in Orchidia. Which is even better to him. It means its close and he doesnt have to travel far.
Sure Alexandre has been in Orchidia years ago. But back then he didnt quite pay attention to the guilds. Now that he thinks about it, he does remember a guild being stationed here. But he never really cared about it before, he had more pressing things at hand, back then.

His current travel companion would say how it is a dark guild, which meant he'd have to deal with people like the ko'd guy. And the next sentence made him chuckle, 'even if you arent commiting crimes, you'll be considered guilty by association'
"Story of my life" he thought to himself.
Nevertheless, he let the guild member speak. It seems at first he started off with the bad stuff, like to try and deter him away or see if he had 2nd thoughts about joining his guild. But Alexandre let him speak, he was more curious than ever to see what this person had to say.

Once he heard him out. It was interesting to say the least. Heh, you could even become the guild master if you are strong enough
"Well, I do desire joining your guild still. What I dont desire is to lead it. Its too much hassle to be a leader. Too much responsibility. Freedom and strength though? I like it"
If he wanted to be a guild master he'd probably make his own guild. But even in that scenario, he wouldnt want to. Being a leader was too much stress inducing. Too much work and paperwork and looking out for guild mates.
Like sure it could be less stressful if you choose to be a shitty leader, but if you're bad at your job, then why even bother.
No thanks. He'll rather pass the job to lead and just be comfortable taking orders. Less responsibility and if anything goes wrong, blame the leader for being bad at planning, organizing or whatever.

He didnt mind being in a dark guild and he was used to being guilty by association. In a way he was always that way. Even if not associated. Like this person over here, the guild member, who asked him if he was associated with that knocked out guy. Its a self fulfilling prophecy maybe.

“It’s a good place, even if it doesn’t always follow the laws.” Ikazuchi didn’t feel threatened by the man, so he was able to keep walking at a relaxed pace with a smile on his face as he accepted that he coincidentally came across a new member. After confirming that, he could finally get around to something he had intentionally neglected. “Well, you’ll be happy to know that we are on our way to the guild already.” Once again, he shook his captive around before explaining the reason. “I needed to take this bastard somewhere, and the guild is convenient whether he’s dead or alive. Plus, you seemed interested.”

After giving Alexandre enough time to respond if he wished to do so, Ikazuchi spoke again. “Since it seems like I will be seeing you more often starting now, I guess this calls for some introductions.” As he said this, he stopped for a moment and turned to the man, intending to face him directly. “I’m Ikazuchi, and it’s nice to meet you.” Without much consideration, he extended his empty right hand with a slight smile on his face. Should the white haired man accept the handshake, he would add one final sentence. “I hope you don’t die anytime soon.” And with that said, he would turn and continue to guide Alexandre to the Guild.

It was good that they were able to clear the air of any tension and establish that they were not a threat to one another. In contrast, they could be partners to one another aka guild mates to one another. When the person said that they were going to the guild hall. Alexandre nodded "Oh indeed. I am happy" he was happy, but of course level headed about it.
Besides he was curious how that altercation would end up. Ie, what would they do once they bring him to the guild hall.
"I am curious, yes"

So once it was 100% confirmed that he would join Sleeping Calamity and since it is established that they would thus be seeing eachother in the future. It was time for introductions. First the person introduced himself and offered a handshake. Ikazuchi.

Soon they would continue their trek, but to avoid any awkward silence, he decided to speak
"So, by your name. Are you joyan? What brought you to Fiore?"
He knows the question was most likely stupid. Like it was rich asking him that, considering he had a minstreli name. Then again he was an immigrant... sort of

Ikazuchi didn’t attempt to clarify what would happen to his captive as Alexandre would be accompanying him to the Guild. Rather than explain it now, it would be easier to do so after they arrived. Instead, his attention was focused on the introduction that followed. Despite knowing the man’s name, among many other bits of information, it was only after hearing it from him directly that he could repeat that information. Easing the restrictions placed on himself during conversation was something that he always welcomed.

Afterwards, Alexandre took the initiative to inquire about his name. ‘People always ask me about this…’ He couldn’t help but sigh slightly due to a bit of helplessness regarding his name as he smiled and explained. “I am someone who was born and raised in Fiore.” A touch of pain  was reflected in his expression as he continued. “My father was Joyan, and he settled down here before I was born. My name is something that he chose, though I never really heard a particular reason why.”

Despite having spent around half of his life without his father, Ikazuchi still struggled with the loss that he experienced. Considering that the loss of his father had eventually pushed his mother towards an early death, it wasn’t something that he could easily move past. Not to mention, he had met several people in the guild who had left this world behind. Although it was something said casually, he truly hoped that Alexandre wouldn’t go off and die any time soon due to his experiences.

Ikazuchi was able to control his emotions rather quickly during the conversation as he didn’t wish to bring more attention than necessary to himself. “What about yourself? What brought you to a place like this?” He could guess why someone would choose to join Sleeping Calamity, but not what would bring someone from afar to Orchidia at his age. From Ikazuchi’s perspective, he would have expected someone like Alexandre to settle down with a family rather than join a Dark guild like this. It was clear that there was a story there, but it was unknown how much he would be able to hear and he didn’t particularly wish to sift through the various bits of information he naturally obtained to analyze the man’s life.

He didnt really care what happens to the body, so he didnt press on about that subject. Willing to wait until they come to the guild to find out. Instead he focused on getting to know the person who he was with. He wanted to try and make small talk, but noticed the sigh. Seems like he unwittingly opened up a painful subject. Nevertheless Ikazuchi would actually explain what was it all about. He was fiorian, but joyan from his fathers side. He heard joyans were traditional and such. While he hasnt met any as far as he knew or cared, he figures that must be the reason behind the name. But considering it sounded like Ikazuchi did not want to talk about it, he let it be
"I see."

So Ikazuchi asked a question back. Seemed fair. So logically he asked... well not about the name, but what brought him here
"Well I have always traveled much and spent quite a bit on the road. And I guess I ended up here. But other than that. It is a very long story." one which isnt really time to say. He doubted Ikazuchi would wanna hear someones sob story of a shitty life. And even if he was, he'd imagine he'd like to hear it while sitting down and having a drink and not while walking and dragging a body to the guild hall.
Thats why Alexandre gave him a general and vague idea.
Again he didnt wanna say 'So I was a highwayman and robbed and killed people. And something recently happened that made me want to join a guild'
There was a time and a place for certain conversations.

“I see…” Ikazuchi nodded as if he had expected such a response. “...Maybe I will get to listen to that long story one day.” He could somewhat guess the kind of life that the man had lived due to the information about Alexandre’s relationship that had been forced into his mind. The blessing he possessed felt like a double-edged sword as it forced him to understand far more than he wished to about people. Information pertaining to combat was something he welcomed as it gave him an edge, but the various other aspects of life constantly burdened him. He had lost count of the number of people who left this world due to his sword, and similarly he was forced to know exactly how many of those had families and loved ones awaiting their return. Similarly, he could somewhat understand the painful relationships hidden in Alexandre’s past.

“You’ve heard what the guild is like, but what are you actually looking for from a guild? Do you have any grand goals? I know a guy who wanted to take over an entire country before conquering the world, so I don’t think any ambition is too grand to share.” Ikazuchi excluded the fact that he really wanted to ensure that his soon-to-be new guildmate wouldn’t be dragging him into something too crazy without his knowledge. He firmly believed in his ability to face anything that may come his way, but he didn’t particularly enjoy being blindsided either. He didn’t want to wake up one day to a Demon Army threatening him, so it felt like a reasonable concern.

"I dont know why anayone would be interested in my story, but sure. Maybe one day you will hear it" he said
He didnt think he was someone of interest to learn about. Like his story and background, but he surmised people might be just mildly curious. Like they'd wanna learn things and soon forget it. Like unearthing a mild mystery

Ikazuchi then asked him what was he really looking for from a guild. Any grand goals and such? He even said how he knew a guy who wanted to take over an entire country before conquering the world. Now thats a crazy goal
"Well I dont know about world domination. My goals are fairy simpler and can be concised in four words. Experience. Knowledge. Purpose. And home"
Once he said his main purpose for joining a guild, he continued
"Thats basically it. Nothing more or less. I know being in a guild is different than being a highwayman. So yeah... I wanna see whats it like and actually have some purpose"

Alexandre’s responses further alluded to the kind of life that he may have previously lived. In particular, the way he mentioned highwaymen was noted by Ikazuchi as he knew that someone would typically refer to something that they were familiar with. ’That’s certainly one way to spend your time on the road.’ That thought didn’t hinder his response as he spoke once again. “I can’t say the guild will give you a purpose. The freedom offered by the guild means that you won’t really have a goal set for you.”

Ikazuchi paused for a moment in consideration before continuing. “The guild gives me a sense of belonging due to the freedom that it offers, but my personal goals are more embodied by the pursuit of strength. It’s no secret to most that I’m a swordsman, and that I have constantly been refining my swordsmanship while pursuing the pinnacle. Alongside that, I have constantly been improving my skills as a blacksmith.” After speaking up to this point, Ikazuchi felt that he hadn’t clearly expressed what he intended. As a result, he continued in an effort to clarify his intentions. “What I mean is, pursuing one thing led me to another. After you find something, you will be able to keep adding and expanding upon that goal. The only advice I have is that you should set a clear goal for yourself. If you set something vague as a goal, you may end up lost before you ever get started.” It was only after he finished speaking that it occurred to him that he was essentially lecturing a man old enough to be his father. He responded to what seemed like a lack of direction expressed in the man’s words, but that didn’t mean the man wished for someone to advise him in such a way. Ikazuchi couldn’t help but briefly glancing at Alexandre out of curiosity about the kind of response he may receive.

"I thought guilds tend to quest and do work. Its not just about idling by and staying strong. Then again, you did say this guild offered more freedom than the others. So I guess I could be wrong. But do not worry. One goal I had was to join a guild. I will workshop another one. I just like to keep myself busy and be useful" he explained

He listened to Ikazuchi talk how he is a swordsman and also knows blacksmithing. Its good Alexandre kept his weapon sheathed. He wouldnt want someone like Ikazuchi to see his weapon. Which was a sword, but so damaged that it got snapped in half to the point that he just uses the broken sword as a dagger. At least its very sharp

Nevertheless he listened to Ikazuchi and nodded
"Indeed pursuing one thing leads to another. Thats what I aim on doing. But aside from guilds and goals and such. What is your guild master like. If Im not mistaken, the only time you mentioned the guild master was when you said that they can be challenged. But other than that. What are they like?" he asked

And pursuing he did. As interesting as a character Ikazuchi was, and as promising Sleeping Calamity seemed to be. It really was sleeping. In a far more literal way. Ikazuchi was a busy man. Understandably so, he had a body with him, that he was dragging along. Maybe Alexandre came to the wrong place or maybe a wrong time. Perhaps this guild wasnt really taking any new members. At least not at this moment or they werent really equipped to do so.
"It was pleasant to talk with you Ikazuchi. I can see you're busy and I shouldnt keep you waiting. Apologies for disturbing you and good luck in your endevours. I shall take your advice and think about a few things. Who knows, maybe our paths will cross again. Farewell"
Maybe in future he joins this guild when its better prepared or maybe he joins another guild by the time he sees Ikazuchi. But even so, the guy seemed good and he doesnt see him as an enemy by any means. But today was not the day. He left to search for another guild or another path to find his purpose in life
