In a short time before Kishin lost everything, he's continued his travels. Kishin observes the bustling city of Joya from his position at the torii gate of the temple. The vibrant cherry blossom trees sway in the gentle breeze, casting a pink hue over the people below. Resting his back on his ghost horse on the ground, Kishin seems to guard the way into the temple.

After leaving Fairy Tail, Kishin had considered his next options. He wondered if Joya would consider him in a guild or not. His loyalty to Fiore was a bit thin. The most interesting part of Fiore besides the people was Hosenka. Drifting in his thoughts, Kishin notices a group of samurai passing by, their armor and weapons gleaming in the sunlight. They seem to be in a hurry, perhaps rushing to a battle or an important meeting. They'd avoid Kishin for some reason.

Despite the beauty of the surroundings, Kishin's thoughts drift to darker matters. He is not one to revel in the joys of life. In fact, he seems to take pleasure in pain and suffering, both his own and that of others. He is unmagical besides his relic in his standards, lacking real supernatural abilities that others in this land might possess. But he makes up for it with his physical prowess and his willingness to do whatever it takes to achieve his goals.

As he rests here, Kishin contemplates his next move. He knows that the only way to gain power and respect in this land is to become a lord. But he also knows that there are many others who seek the same thing. At his side lays a simple mirror, showing his simple armor back.

He recalled a map of the region he'd prepared. There are several towns and villages that are without a lord, and therefore without so-called honor. These are the places where Kishin can make his mark, where he can establish himself as a leader and a force to be reckoned with.

He looks out at the city once more, taking in the sights and sounds of Joya. For now, he is content to wait and plan his next move. But he knows that his true calling lies in the blood and chaos of battle after his tour in Seven.

Kishin adjusts his mask, his eyes hidden from view. He is a man of mystery and darkness, a creature of the shadows now. But despite his sinister nature, there is a sense of determination and purpose in his gaze. He will do whatever it takes to achieve his goals, even if it means sacrificing everything he holds dear. Kishin is a rising butcher, a man who seeks power and dominance above all else.

Today Kishin had decided to play a game of forsaking his humanity. Reminded of Hosenka, Kishin decided he'd put on a performance. When he's finally learned to use magic, Kishin hadn't hesitated to abuse it. On his left hand, he has his Chaos Claw, and on the right hand he has his Jaqen's Grasp. Squatting like a beggar at times, some people with kind intentions had approached Kishin.

"That's your true face in your next life. In your next next life, you shall be cursed with growing uglier and uglier." Scowling in return, Kishin placed his hand on people's faces and maimed them to look ugly by using Jaqen's Grasp. The horse looked unamused, but Kishin might never grow tired of this scam. It wasn't wrong to say Kishin seemed like a yokai when his prank required exorcising. If he could regenerate mana, he'd permanently disfigure people who can't null it or knock him out. Even if they could, would that prove Kishin's words wrong?

Earlier, a distinguished guest tried to slash the loitering Kishin with the force of a mountain. Using his horse, Kishin phased through the slash like a ghost. In return, the guest almost collapsed the torii and caused a religious incident. The goodie two-shoes all scurried away after that, letting Kishin's scam play out for a while. He answered to no rules, to see who will bring him away.

Mishiko

Her tired dead eyes gazed at the people running along, taking care of their daily chores and lives. She wondered which soul she'll be collecting today and how many. Her onxy eyes looked towards the sky as it was all a blur to her. When was the last time she was able to see the beauty of the sky? How long has it been since she has slept? Months? Years? If she was human, she wouldn't be able to function. She wore a cloak that covered her body and the fur hoodie was hiding her snow-white hair and black strand.

The smell of fresh food made her feel sick, she hasn't been feeling hungry either since the beginning of this Journey. Will she get that mortal appetite back? Hunched over as she walked, she went with Ohta who floated five meters in the air to keep watch for anything out of the ordinary. Her mind spaced out for a moment till she noticed a few people scurrying away from a specific location. Ohta went ahead and flew forward to see what was going on. It wasn't long before they came back with a nervous look on their face. Mishiko tiredly looked up at them and then forward. She was in no hurry, but she had to see if anyone innocent was being harmed at the very least.

She followed where Ohta was flying and finally witnessed a squatting person and some horse. She sighed softly and tilted her head, eyes tiredly looking at the figure. "Ah..." she coldly spoke, "You're Kishin, no?" she now knew why people were covering their faces while running. Sure, Kishin wore a mask to cover their eyes, but mostly everything else gave details about them - along with her skills of knowing people. Due to her underground knowledge of everyone, she was able to know people as if they were quite famous and familiar. Kishin personally wasn't up there but doesn't mean they can't be in the future. "What brings you here - other than making people hideous out of amusement?", she assumed.

As Kishin continues his scamming game, he can't help but feel a sense of pleasure in the chaos he creates. It's a way to distract himself from the pain and loss he's experienced in his life recently, a way to feel in control again. He knows that his actions are not honorable, but that doesn't bother him. Honor is a game for those who have something to lose.

For now, Kishin remains a lone wolf, a man without a lord or a master. But he knows that this won't be the case for long. His rise to power is inevitable, and he will stop at nothing to achieve it. Kishin looked up at the sound of Mishiko's voice, eyes hidden behind the mask. As Kishin watched Mishiko approach, his heart skipped a beat. There was something alluring about her that Kishin couldn't quite put his finger on. Maybe it was the way her snow-white hair contrasted with her onyx eyes, or the way her cloak swayed in the wind. Whatever it was, Kishin couldn't deny that they were drawn to her.

As they spoke, Kishin couldn't help but notice the exhaustion in Mishiko's eyes, but they didn't comment on it. Instead, his attention was drawn to Ohta, who floated above them. Kishin was used to feeling frustrated but he did find at least some value in Ghast. It was a constant ache, a reminder that they were different from everyone else. Or have they come to punish me too? As Mishiko spoke, Kishin couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt for scaring the locals. He didn't mean to cause harm, he just enjoyed the thrill of the chase.

Kishin's eyes scanned Mishiko's tired form and he seemed to take in every detail of her appearance. "You look tired," he said, the voice laced with a hint of curiosity. "Have you been on the road for long?" After a few moments of silence, Kishin spoke again. "I find it interesting," he said, "how humans are so quick to judge and condemn those who are different from them. They fear what they do not understand."

Then, a child walked up toward Kishin. The scene tightened and Kishin didn't turn away or examine where the child had emerged from. "Hello little one," he noted, his voice flatter, as he then used Jaqen's once more. If the child left done with, he continued. "What if I'm hiding them from the scrutiny of the shogun? You can't prove I'm not reincarnating them. Without nullifying my gift, show Kishin's amusement in this lifetime." Speaking in riddle, Kishin's face underneath his mask remained neutral. He's on vacay, only horrible people leave murals. He just wants to see the beautiful day contrasting with the ugly people. The more ugly it is, the more balanced, like a fish in the mirror only scared by it's circumstance.

Kishin observed Mishiko as he failed to wake her up a bit. He had been planning an encounter for a while, knowing that an assassin organization would be the perfect ally in a mission to overthrow the shogun. He was intrigued by her skills, and someone who could see through Kishin is the target for his restful play.

Kishin knew that he had to be careful in his approach. He didn't want to shake Mishiko or her organization, but at the same time, he knew that he had to make contact if he wanted to achieve his goals. He had began to study her, waiting for the perfect opportunity to make his move, but he decided it's best left for another day if any.

"I'd have loved to be a nin-nin, dattebayo," he said playfully. At this time, he hadn't gotten a chance to use his magic on himself. He'd get up on to his full lean of Ghast and begin to leave on Ghast's back. As he left, the mirror next to him fell. "I sacrifice my magic for others to use on themselves, to see the sacrificial peace in the choices they make," and with his empty answer, he'd leave. He had already broke his soul into pieces for others to bear. He retracted his mana and felt the fullness of emptiness.
