Z'Aleel had heard rumors of the spirits deep within the catacombs of Oak's Church, but he hadn't taken an interest in any of it until today. Luci was adamant on seeing what this was all about, probably because he thought he might run into one of his cousins or something. The rumors the duo had heard didn't mention anything regarding demons, but it wasn't uncommon for people to confuse a spirit stuck between earthland and the afterlife with a demon; a truly evil spirit created to spread chaos and produce fear. These creatures relished in the suffering of humanity, it was how they made themselves stronger. Some struck deals with desperate human beings; fame or money in exchange for their souls, others just had fun torturing their minds. Spirits, however, were usually just angry or had unfinished business. Some of them yearned for vengeance on the people they felt like were the cause of their death, others were jealous of the people they thought should have died in their stead.

Za was curious too to see what this quest would bring. He wasn't fond of priests, especially priests who spoke the word of Illumin, but perhaps this was a grand opportunity. Perhaps he could test his abilities and see just how far along he was in the transformation process. His connection with the spirits hadn't faded, but he could feel it getting weaker with every waking moment. Soon, the connection he had would cease to exist, just like Luci had mentioned. For now though, he could still summon Susan and Eznalos to get the job done. Maybe the spirits under the catacombs were up for grabs. Regardless, the money was always worth it because right now he needed that the most. Luci was his main source of income, and for good reason too. The cat-like demon was able to get his hands on some pretty exclusive things. Plus, he was a Demon of the Crossroads after all.

Luci would often times vanish only to return an hour or two later. His job was random and sometimes he would be summoned in the most inconvenient moments. More deals for him meant more souls, more souls meant strengthening the Abyss and Hell, and doing that meant that he'd be a very important player, indispensable, if you will. Luci was no fool and to be quite frank, the Nimulli truly did feel a sense of belonging around him. The two had known each other for a short time but it was safe to say that he felt extremely comfortable. It was unusual for the Nephilim to feel such a way. Even with who he had become, part of him felt alone in moving towards this mission. If it wasn't for the small shadow feline demon, Z'Aleel would have not a single clue on what to do. Thank hell for Luci.

The duo finally approached the large church before opening it's doors and casually walking in. At the alter there was a priest who seemed to be in distraught. For a moment the fallen Nephilim paused. Memories flashed through his brain, revealing the ins and outs of this place as if he had already been here. They weren't his memories of course, but he could feel every emotion of the owners. Frustration, annoyance, a little bit of anxiety. It was then that he learned that the church was simply just cursed. To think that in the house of Lord Illumin spirits would be wreaking havoc was comedic at best. "It's happening again, isn't it?" Luci asked with a sigh. Za leaned on the bench for a moment, regaining his composure in a matter of seconds. "Yeah...I'll be fine though. It's apart of the process, right?" He asked. Luci tucked his lips and simply nodded.

The Priest watched in confusion for a moment. When the duo approached they asked about the job at hand, to which the Father responded in great detail. The spirits in the catacombs were growing restless. They were reacting to something but he had no clue on what it was. It took everything for Aleel not to slice the priests neck. This hatred he had for all of them didn't just come from his mission, it came from the truth that they were the ones who had locked his father away. With no more to be said, the Nephilim and the Demon walked down the stairs and into the catacombs. Contrary to the soul inside of him who had memories of this place, Z'Aleel felt nothing. Not a hint of fear, anger, sadness, just nothing. All that mattered to him was getting the job done quickly. The rest of it was unimportant.

When the two of them reached the bottom, they looked around. The place was full of dark energy, corrupted energy, but not truly evil energy. Luci could feel it too. "Dang. I was hoping to see my brethren, how disappointing." He whipped out his flask and took a sip. He always kept that silver bottle somewhere close. Suddenly a the spirit that had been roaming around the catacombs appeared. The Nimulli wasted no time in summoning it and Luci wasted no time in stepping back and allowing the summoner to handle it. Susan was summon and croaked. Two spirits fighting, one temporarily physical and the other purely metaphysical. The fiend stretched her arm and punched the spirit, causing it to get angry. The Nimulli leapt back and controlled his summon with his hand, allowing the two to chase each other around, trading blows until finally Susan bit it, causing it to explode. Luci and the Nimulli were both caught in the explosion, the church shook and rumbled as the catacombs began to break down. Z'Aleel stood up and quickly picked up Luci to  run out of the catacombs before a stone fell and trapped them in there. When the reached the priest, they told him the job was done and he fished into his pocket and pulled out the jewels he owed.
