Amir giddily skipped into the clothing shop. It felt warm and pleasant on his freezing body. The constant temperature of the shop was one of the things he depended on. It was a bonus in his choice in continuing to work at this particular shop.

A warm smile greeted Amir as Fernando waved at him. The familiar designer and fashion guru was in the middle of going through his fabrics. The man was speaking with excitement as he spoke to Amir. The sensation was like that of an impassioned cleric speaking about their god. Amir could tell that Fernando treated clothes as if they were his life. The topic droned until Fernando talked about this legendary pair of scissors. Amir smelt the making of a quest so he inquired further. Turns out the legendary item was spotted in the mart by a traveling merchant. Amir was given the goal to find out more about it and acquire the legendary scissors. Amir accepted his task and headed out.

The market was extra crowded. The throng of people kept the winter chill at bay. Amir found the sensation pleasant, until he was able to piece together the reason why so many people were present. The roomer of the golden scissors was not only true. The excess of people present all came with the intention of becoming the owner of the scissors. Amir debated if he should buy the scissors, or just steal them away from whoever did. It may have been better than even buying them. The intrusive thought exited his mind when he remembered who he was going to give them to. If he did steal the scissors it would cause more trouble with Fernando than he would want.

“Hello to you all. I understand most of you are here to purchase the scissors. In order to even enter the auction for them. You will need to follow the directions on this paper. Read carefully and follow them closely. Do so and you will be able to try bidding for them.”

Amir was impressed. He understood the value of sales and by making an item even harder to get it would raise the prices. Chances are anyone smart enough to participate in the auction would have some serious jewels to them.

The sheet Amir examined looked plain enough. It was large so all the people in the market could read the sheet without a single problem. Amir was a well read lad and understood instructions well. His previous owners would beat you less if they did not have to repeat themselves. Amir still kept the habit of remembering what is said to him at all times.

The first instruction was to do nothing, read all the directions slowly, and wait here for further directions. Amir did just that. That was the first instruction on the paper. The next instruction involved a person putting their name on a piece of paper and pinning it to their shirt like a name tag. The instructions got odder and more strange till the last instruction gave an address. Amir felt the urge to go to the directions listed. He only withheld because he felt like it was too easy. As well as the first instruction being the most important.

Amir held himself in place as the crowd started to thin out. Leaving Amir and four other people present. Amir looked them over and could tell they also only followed the first instruction. As they lacked name tags and kept their tongue in their mouths. Amir could only wonder what the purpose of it all was.

“Congratulations to all the people that have made it through the screening process.” The merchant man was back. Amir was amused that a simple test was made. It was an interesting concept that the test was so simple it was complex. Amir could only chalk it up as a lesson on the ability to notice small details. The price for the auction was set and the remaining people started to battle it out for the The auction could not only be paid in jewels but other things of value. It was a silent one that was made based on what was written down.

Amir had to consider what he had to offer. The merchant would look for the chance to earn Jewels. Amir deliberated and decided that he should offer some rights. If he got behind the merchant in his own way, it could increase his influence in his family, as well gain the scissors. Amir wrote down 5,000j down payment as well as an investment plan. The plan would open up a trade route for the company all the way to Mistral. The money made from that would be more than what they would make here. It was a good plan with plenty of benefits.

The plan was accepted. Amir was proud of his ability to reason. He saved himself some jewels as well as getting the scissors. He had to plot out some finer details in the future but that was for another time. He had already given down his information along with the details of his family in Minstral. He had completed his part of the deal.

Amir did not walk as he merrily skipped back to the shop. He had grabbed the scissors and could not wait to see the look on Fernando’s face. The fashion designer first showed a look of shock, it was replaced with a look of joy. The man sat Amir down as he admired the golden scissors. He treated Amir to a meal as well as paying him some jewels. The money was not a big deal to him. He was just happy to be able to help his new found friend out. Who knew what the future would store for them.
