How long had it been since he departed from Baska? A day? Maybe two? It probably hadn’t been as long as three through. He had been completing so many quests that Ariel had lost his track of time. Just earlier that morning before taking the quest to clear out his mind of his extreme thirst of battle. Ariel had been fumbling with the rune he had obtained. It vibrated with power and the symbol inscribed on it seemed to shine brighter the closer he got towards northern fiore. Had it been signaling him towards something? Ariel was still quite confused on what it was capable of, but maybe he would figure it out in due time.

Anyway, at the moment Ariael was walking down the canyon of the Seighart Mountains. Trying to make his way to a place called the Dawncliff Mines. Apparently in this area of Fiore raw materials were found throughout the land. He knew a little about gold rushing and diving in rivers for gold, but that was probably the most. Ariael hadn't actually done it itself. He had only saw when miners did it back in Caelum, or when his father had been talking about it during the time where mining was important.

Ariael had never thought of learning the skill himself because he knew he would never need it. He was a man smart in ways that didn't require him to venture down into caves for minerals. Something only a few men had.

Although he wasn't foreign to the topic with little experience, Ariael still knew how to navigate himself around the areas so that he wouldn't end up dead. It felt like he had been roaming this side of the mountain for hours. Though, something in the back of his mind told him that he was nearing his destination. He had been following a faint sound that reminded him of hammers hitting stone. The sound seemed to echo across the canyon and amplified whenever it got near the top. A couple days ago he probably wouldn't have even heard the sound, but like he said something was off.

Every since obtaining that magic it was like his senses had been amplifying over the last couple of weeks. He could see further, smell things that he usually couldn't smell, and hear conversations from distances away. Hell, when he looked in the mirror it was like his teeth got more white and sharper as well. It reminded him back when his veins were coursing with Obscura, but he knew this magic was different. It didn't give off the aura of evilness. It felt almost beast-like. Ariael had heard of Dragon Slayer Magic before, but he had never encountered anyone with it. It was only a legend to him, but even legends came from somewhere. Long ago he would have thought devils were only created from the imagination of the followers of Illumin, but he had encountered many and had even been working for one.

Still walking he would start to see figures about five meters in front of him. Ariael could see many men moving quickly around the rocky area. Some had pickaxes, and others wheelbarrows with loads of dirt in them. "The old man said find a section with nobody in it and lock it down. Maybe I should move deeper into the mine." he whispered to himself. Quickly he would make his way to the entrance of the mine. Maneuvering swiftly through the filthy man and entering the mouth of the mine itself. Upon entering it, the smell of soil and metal seemed to take over his nose. Usually he would be able to ignore all the smells, but like he said the magic had amplified his senses. The smells in the mine were so pungent that his food from earlier had nearly escaped his stomach. Making a circling motion over his stomach and putting his hands on his nose, Ariael would make his way deeper into the mine.

There were three passage ways. One directly in front of him that seemed to lead downward, and two more branching out to the left and right. He doubted there would be anymore sections not dug up on the upper levels, so he would follow the path in front of him and make his way deeper into the mine. As he walked, the temperature bounced back and from from cold to hot. Some areas had a small draft coming from who knows where and other areas made him feel like he couldn't breath. Now he saw why you needed extensive knowledge of a mine before entering one.

For several minutes he roamed deeper into the mines before erupting into a small area where five men lined against the rocky wall. Looking around, Ariael could see that they were taking a break from excavating the place, but they had barely done anything. It seemed like the perfect area the man was asking for. "Who the hell are you silver hair? This is our section. Get out before we make ya." said one man gripping his pickaxe. Ariael frowned at the man. Was territories in the mines always fought over? It seemed like they were from how the man talked to him. Some mines did have valuable material. Whos to say that the one he was standing in currently didn't have diamonds below. He would be fighting over it if he had to.

He hadn't planned on killing anyone today, but the disrespect was great. "I simply came down here to find a place to looking for precious metals. I don't mean to trouble you." said Ariael as he walked towards the man holding the pickaxe. He usually didn't approach people with a calm voice or even with respect. It was odd, but the man was tired and wanted to move on from the Seighart Mountains. While he moved forward, the man would stand from his spot on the ground. After Ariael stood in front of him, he would point his pickaxe at Ariael, creating a distance of one meter between them. "Get out before I make ya!" screamed the man.

With a quick thrust, Ariael would push the palm of his left hand towards the center of the pickaxe. This motion would cause the man's arm to go backwards. Due to how he was holding the tool, the sharp end would connect with his forehead causing his skull to be punctured. "Now I don't want to do that to the rest of you, so leave while you can. You're too weak to be considered by prey. I'll be hurting the ecosystem if I kill all of you workers." said Ariael.

The other men quickly rose from their positions on the floor and began to rush Ariael. One by one he took care of them in a swift manner. Although he didn't try to kill the other for. He had a bone to pick with the first man, so that was the only reason he lied on the ground with a deep wound in his forehead. It would only take thirty seconds for Ariael to knock out three of the other men, leaving one with no damage so that he could talk to him. "When your friends wake up leave this place and don't come back. This section is under new leadership. Also clean up that corpse while you're at it. We can't have it rotting and funking the place up." said Ariael. Beginning to turn his back towards the man, he would start walking out of the mine. Behind him he could hear the one he left shuffling around.

"Ahhhhh!!!" screamed the man as he rushed Ariael while his back was turned. The Dragon Slayer would count each step the man took in order to pinpoint when he would reach his back. With a jolt, Ariael would spin on one foot and lean his head to the side as the man tried swinging a pickaxe downward. His left hand would shoot towards the man's neck and he would grasp it with so much strength that he had picked the man up from the ground. "I don't like being attacked while my back is turn." whispered Ariael as he rose the miner even higher in the area.

The bones in the mans' neck would begin to crackle as Ariael applied even more force. He could see the man's face turning blue which only made him laugh. With a quick motion he would throw the man to wall of the mine and watch as his body fell lifeless to the ground. Dusting off his shirt, he would proceed once again exiting the man. Since he had killed everyone now he had to tell the people directly that the mine was under new leadership.

Sighing, Ariael would erupt into the daylight and began spreading knowledge. After doing so he would report back to the old man and told him about the outcome of the quest. After being payed, Ariael would begin walking south through the mountains. He had already grown tired of North Fiore and decided to head back towards the east.
