Name: Sandman, the Master of Dreams

Element: Earth

Description: Sandman usually appears as a tall, thin man with bone-white skin, black hair, and two distant stars looking out from the shadows where his eyes should be. Most often they are silver, blue, or white, but when he becomes angered, they have been known to turn red. People generally perceive him as wearing a style of dress appropriate to their region and era. Sandman has many flaws. He has trouble catching sarcasm and jests, causing him to often appear cold and humorless. Sandman can be insensitive, self-obsessed, and slow to forgive or forget what he perceives as slights. As an overgod, unlike most gods who were otherworlders named gods because of their power in the First Age of Earthland, he is very disassociated with mortal affairs.

Drawback: The user is constantly sleepy and prefers to be asleep instead of being awake. And why wouldn't they? They have total control of their dreams and can do the coolest things in there already. The user also becomes quite cold, disassociated, and unempathetic in their personality.

Skills


  • Sand Sense: The user can feel any vibration through the ground up to 100 meters in distance and 50 meters deep as long as their feet are connected to the ground as well.
  • Shifting Sands: The user can feel any vibration through the air up to 100 meters in distance and 50 meters high as long as their feet are connected to the ground as well.
  • Sleep Sand: The user uses a certain type of sand that makes targets sleepy. As a result, when a target is hit by an Offensive-type spell of this magic, they receive a 20% reduction in their Speed for 3 posts. The effect does not stack, however, it does reset the timer each time a target is hit again.
  • Dreamer's Mind: The mind of the user cannot be controlled, damaged, read, influenced, altered, or communicated with, forcing users with telepathic allies to rely on alternate means of long-distance communication. As such, mental moves have no effect on the user, nor do the specialized moves of the Nightmare Dragon Slayer e.g. Nightmare Dragon Slayer's Specialized Spells and Nagatha's Charm.

Resistance


  • Moderate Earth Resistance: The user receives a Moderate Resistance versus Earth. The resistance is replaced by a Major Resistance during the transformation.

Drawbacks


  • Minor Wind Weakness: The user receives a Minor Weakness versus Wind. The weakness is replaced by a Moderate Weakness during the transformation.
  • Minor Water Weakness: The user receives a Minor Weakness versus Water. The weakness is replaced by a Moderate Weakness during the transformation.

Restriction


  • The user must either train or purchase the spell listed below when they have unlocked the respective spell slot.
  • The user cannot get another element with this magic.
  • The magic takes up two enhancement slots. The user does not need to have the enhancement slots available at purchase. Should the user ever unlock their first two enhancement slots, they will immediately be filled by this magic.

    Effect: The user calls forth a sandstorm by raising their hand above them and pointing it towards the sky. The sandstorm appears in all directions of the user up to 100 meters. The sandstorm does not move with the user though. The sandstorm blinds everyone standing within it. Should someone leave the sandstorm, they will still be blinded for 1 more post due to the irritation to their eyes. This cannot be nullified.

    Type: Supplementary
    Element: Earth
    Range: 100 Meters
    Cooldown: 5 Posts
    Duration: Instant
    Effect: Sandman's Sandstorm must be active to use Sandman's Evasion. The user disperses into sand and disappears into the sandstorm. The user can then reassemble themselves elsewhere within the sandstorm. The user must, however, reassemble themselves within the Sandman's Sandstorm. While floating as sand, the user is temporarily invulnerable, however, the user must reform themselves within 10 seconds. The user cannot use any attacks in the same post after they reassemble themselves again. This spell may be used at the last moment when dealing with a physical attack to negate the received damaged e.g. when the user is stabbed or punched. In such cases, the opponent would stab or punch through nothing as the user disperses into sand. This cannot be nullified.


  • Name: Drowsiness

    Range: 50 Meters
    Cooldown: 5 Posts
    Duration: Sustain
    Effect: The user raises both hands and releases sleeping sand from their body up to a range of 50 meters. The sand causes drowsiness to anyone hit by the move and reduces all attributes by 20%. The user does not have to pay additional mana per affected target, however, they must pay the sustain cost to keep the drowsiness activated on the affected targets. This cannot be nullified.

    Mana Cost: 20% of Total Base Mana
    Requirements: Sandman, the Master of Dreams
    Type: Supplementary
    Element: Earth
    Range: 25 Meters
    Cooldown: 30 Days
    Duration: Instant
    Effect: The user selects a target within their range and uses the Sleep spell on them without any motions. The target may then roll a dice to try to counter the spell in their reply post. If the target rolls above 90, they will be hit by drowsiness instead and debuffed in all their stats for 20% for the remainder of the topic. The user does not have to pay a sustain cost for this. The user may add every 100 points that they have in Intelligence to their roll, however, this number must be divided by 10. Therefore, if the user rolls 70, but has an Intelligence of 344, the 344 will add 30 points to the roll and prevent them from falling asleep. If the target does fall asleep, the user may not claim any fight rewards from them nor may they maim them. Instead, the user may immediately collect the bounty or contract placed on their head since they are incapacitated for the remainder of the topic, The bounty or contract claim must be in line with whether the user can actually claim a bounty or contract. Furthermore, the spell can be used to safely retreat from a topic or diffuse a situation. The spell cannot be used to obtain Blood Runes. This cannot be nullified. This spell cannot be used for 30 days after the last topic in which it was used has been left by the user.

    Effect: The user closes their eyes and enters a meditative state in which they disconnect themselves from the world around them. The user then conjures a projection of themselves elsewhere in the world, where they are capable of hearing, sight, and speech only. The user cannot physically interact with the world around them. Thus, they cannot attack, cast spells, nor can they be attacked. The user can only project themselves to places they have been before or somewhere someone close to the user is present. The cooldown starts when the spell is stopped. This spell cannot be used for 14 days after the last topic in which it was used has been left by the user.

    Effect: The user activates the God Soul within them containing Sandman's powers. The body of the user becomes like sand. The user receives a Major Earth Resistance and a Minor Physical Resistance, however, they also receive a Moderate Wind Weakness and Moderate Water Weakness. As long as the transformation is sustained, the user cannot be KO'ed by vital hits nor can they be hindered anymore. Therefore, as long as the transformation is sustained, hindered limbs become usable as if they were not hindered. This is a transformation and not a spell. Therefore, it can't be canceled by artifacts or magics that can cancel spells.
