Cleaning Duties [quest] Empty Fri Dec 11, 2020 10:02 pm

Kazimir Seiryu
Kazimir let out a deep sigh from his nose. Already back and already back to the mundane. This time he reminded himself that it's all about getting back into the swing of things. Even the small things matter.

The door to the investigator's office was glass. A simple knock could have dropped the glass from its fittings. It was a mahogany frame, one that was worth the price of a famous detective.

"I'm here to help out. You there,"
Kaz called. There was no answer after a few more times of calling out and knocking. Finally, Kaz jiggled the handle and the door crept open. He poked his head in and eased the door open. It was a mess of papers and diagrams. Not to mention the leftover food boxes strewn about.

He stepped over the old pile of mail. A single large wooden desk was at the other end of the room with a nameplate on it. That being the only thing close to finding the detective in the ramshackle place. A pile of books and work material was on the table. Nothing of note just yet.

Kaz skirted around the room until the pile of books shifted. He rose an eyebrow and stepped a little closer. Peering over the stack of books he saw the sleeping detective.

"Hey, I'm here to help," Kaz said. The detective grunted and shot up to life. His eyes still hung heavy. The flamboyance was faltering with the lopsided pompadour.

"Oh yeah...great. Uh...I really just need some help cleaning this place up. Work has been a killer. Rival gangs and holy cow! What the heck are you doing here!" He exclaimed and stood up.

"Just getting a grasp on things again. That's why I'm here. I bet you have a pretty good ear to the ground. I'll clean this place for some info."

The detective chuckled, "Hells if that's it then you have a deal...Seiryu sir." They both nodded and before any work began the detective filled Kaz's mind with recounts of the major events while he was away. The wind mage listened closely, somethings shocking and others were expected. it was a good few hours before the two of them finished catching up, but the wind mage felt he learned a great deal about it. How many things fell and grew so quickly.

As per the agreement, Kaz rolled up his sleeves and began cleaning up the office. It was one trash bag after another with this guy. The food boxes never ended.

Kaz ran the duster over the furniture and then to the board on the wall. Among the dust was an elaborate portrayal of gang violence in the area.

"You going for them?" Kaz asked.

"I have to."

"Then let me know when." With a gentle breeze the room was clean. The pages of books flipped gently to one side. The window briskly opened. Swirls of wind gathered up the dust and carried it out into the streets.

"Thanks, Kazimir," the detective replied and handed the mage a sack of jewels.
