The next missive was hand delivered to Jolyne from the detective and it gave hints at what lay on the note she had found at the crime scene a few hours ago. At nightfall she was to go to a gambling den in order to display her strength and infiltrate the Black Dragon crime syndicate. While it was a daunting task the skeletal mage figured it was much better than the work she was used to and was not hesitant in sending a response detailing her acceptance of the quest. Weirdlock had indicated that the fingerprints on the body matched those registered as members of the gang, furthermore the Oroborus on the note was symbiology that the group utilized on occasion. It would be beneficial to ascertain more information she was certain, though she did wish that the detective had shared a bit more reasoning as to why she would be attempting to infiltrate the guild. Regardless she would have to think of a cover story for accepting any invitation to the Black Dragons that she may occur with the instructed strategy. Hopefully she would not just start fights with others for no reason, but due to this she needed to put on her heavy armor to give her physical blows a bit more than a tickle to others. While it would lower her overall speed, the dark armor that glowed seemingly with embers was a worthwhile addition to her arsenal. While it did make her look a bit too intimidating and unapproachable overall she thought, it was a perfect ensemble piece for the den she was about to go in. As long as she did not pick the wrong fight it should not be hard as a skeleton in hellish armor plating to attract attention with a brawl. The Lich mentally hyped herself up before departing as the sun set for the particular gambling establishment the Black Dragons were known to patronize.

Once inside the Lich would survey the area taking in the various people within scaling each for the likelihood of goading into a fight as well as if they seemed to be boastful without being able to back it up. It simply would not do to shoot above her league at this point in time so Jolyne would have to stick to smaller fish even if they swam in a school. As such there was a very fine group of specimens which seemed to fit her bill rather nicely. A trio of reprobates the woman was certain she could garner the upper hand if she avoided being overwhelmed by superior numbers. Approaching the group with a grin she would stand in wait around their table with a drink she had gained as a purchase from the in house bar, she was waiting for their conversation to turn to something the Plant Mage could utilize. Not one to possess the gift for gab, Jolyne Atreides none the less seemed to be able to provoke others at the drop of a hat and would exploit that fact in her quest now in order to garner the attention of the Black Dragon crime syndicate. This being the case, it was with glee that she overheard an opportunity to intervene into the vocal exchange with a barb meant to start a fight. Upon her success, the man closest took a swing at her and the skeleton ducked before launching an uppercut and following with a jab to the chest with her left hand while her right was still connecting with the man's chin. This took him out of the fight before his other two comrades could react and the Lich would have three people in her face. Instead now she took the next hit with her armor and headbutted the man in response before wheeling with a wild swing to keep the other man at bay. Her ploy was successful as the second man jumped backwards allowing her to focus on the first who was reeling from the blow to the head.

Delivering two more punches she turned to take a pool cue to her chest and staggered backwards a bit though her armor soaked up the damage as well as it had the other blow she had received. It turned out to be a very sound investment indeed and she reached out to grab the man by the throat and held him aloft before scanning the area to ensure others had seen her. With many eyes upon her she choke slammed the man into the ground causing all three to be knocked out or unable to continue in a fight. Returning to the bar and paying for the glass she broke in the scuffle she was approached by a grizzled looking individual, a dwarf who introduced himself as a member of the Black Dragons. He asked about her interest in working for a group that would recognize her true potential and the Lich feigned interest in a believable enough manner for the man who called himself Dmitry. The conversation flowed smoothly and the pair bought a couple of rounds before the man departed from the Lich's company leaving the woman to wonder at how smoothly the whole exchange went. Hopefully it was not like the time she had to run up a tunnel, but in any case she needed to tell Weirdlock about her progress and initiation instructions into the crime syndicate that he was investigating. While not the best at evaluating others, especially not in a short amount of time, Jolyne had felt Dmitry to be genuine and was rather interested at just what kind of a group this gang actually was. The Plant Mage was also quite interested in what Weirdlock Jones had planned for her to do next, she was rather enjoying actually useful work for once after joining this guild. It was much better than what she was doing before in Magnolia and the Lich hoped it continued the pattern of at least being interesting questing.
