Slowly her wyvern descended into the canyon between the mountains, and after a short search Esperia discovered the place Morrigan was talking about. It was a steep platform, and just a peek downwards made it clear that a wrong step would make her plummet into the depths of the Sieghart mountains and likely meet an end that made her flatter than a pancake. However, curiously enough she noticed that against the mountain cliff there was a spacious opening hollowed out, almost akin to a door that beckoned her to venture inside. Holding her staff up, Esperia allowed the light of Morrigan's staff to illuminate the area, serving as a makeshift torch as she wandered inside, not knowing what to expect as she started to brave the darkness.

At first it felt like she was simply walking through a tunnel, an idea that wasn't that far-fetched, considering the Sieghart Mountains likely had plenty of mountains, but as she walked through the darkness she started to notice something, or perhaps it was better to say she 'felt' something.

The place was rich in mana, unnaturally so even, and it was almost suffocating to her. However, despite this she still continued onward, wandering deeper into the darkness as she finally started to feel like the tunnel was descending deeper into the mountains. Where was she heading into? What type of place would await her at the end of this tunnel? She didn't know, and perhaps that was part of why it excited her so much. As someone who longed to learn more about the world, her constant search for knowledge was driving her onward, and then the small tunnel gave way for something else, something that nobody had likely seen before. In all honesty, she likely wouldn't have believed it herself if she had not seen the sight herself, but it was there: The ruins of an ancient civilization.

To just call it a ruin might had been wrong, if anything a ruin usually was in a bad state, but this place was different. Just a glance from up high showed what seemed to be a thriving city, its buildings in a pristine state, and yet Esperia didn't see any life, didn't feel any life from the place, it was odd, unsettling even. For a moment her eyes drifted around the area, wondering if she could find a way downwards, and it was only after several minutes that she understood that there was no way for her to descend into the ancient city she saw up ahead.

Still, that didn't mean she was about to give up! Not in front of something so exciting, something she couldn't explain or understand! No, instead she tapped the bottom of Morrigan's staff on the ground, on the verge of making a arcane platform for her to levitate on, but instead the mana seemingly was drained from her staff into the very ground itself! Earth turned into something else, she would have called it glass, but it seemed more sturdy, and she was awestruck as the platform started to descend toward the city.

And yet it was only the very beginning of the mystery. As soon as she arrived, the first thing Esperia noticed, was that she wasn't alone. Tall figures, the length of a giant were wandering around, their bodies cloaked in gray robes and their faces concealed by a mask of sort. Was it an illusion that someone was showing her? It might as well be worth a try... "Hello-" She called out to one of them, the word making one of the figures turn toward her, tilting its head slightly to the side in confusion:

"xyoaherzoa soherawasa?" The figure spoke in a language she couldn't comprehend, not even Morrigan seemed to understand it, and yet as it noticed her confusion the figure bend down and raised a hand to her head, and to her surprise she felt it ruffle her hair!

"Are you lost little one?"

Esperia couldn't help but find her disbelief turn into amazement, was this truly an illusion? If so, to be able to make an illusion solid and able to interact with her like this must had taken quite some expertise in the art of magic!

"Kinda~" Esperia chimed softly, thinking about how she could best exploit this opportunity she was given. If she wanted to find out more about this place, what would be the best way to approach it? "Is there anywhere where I can learn about this place?" The figure withdrew his hand, pondering for a bit before answering her. "A place of learning, a place of knowledge?"

The girl nodded her head enthusiastically in return as she watched the figure rise to its full height and point further ahead into the illusionary city. "If you walk down this path and turn to your right, you will arrive at the library. Fortunately the Librarian is there today, he loves to teach little ones, so you will find the answers you seek there."

The library? It seemed like a natural choice for one to visit in search of knowledge, so after speaking a few words of gratitude Esperia started to walk along the street. It was odd, she knew this place was a secret ruin within the Sieghart Mountains, but at the same time this place looked so alive, so... real. The cloaked figures that greeted her as if she was a child, the lush greenery that felt like nature was prospering here, and yet it felt wrong. She could feel an overflowing amount of mana from her environment, but life... life itself was missing. Was this the result of someone's magic? As she stopped in front of a large building, the one she assumed to be the 'library' the stranger spoke about earlier Esperia pressed both hands against the door and pushed it open.

The moment she opened the door, the first thing Esperia bemusedly thought was that the name: library fit the place well, from the countless bookshelves that were lined up, to the tables and chairs where one could spend some time reading. As someone who had started to pursue the path of knowledge Esperia almost felt like she was about to drool, but seeing one of the robed figures from before Esperia couldn't help but wonder: was he another part of this illusion, or the mastermind behind it?

Not that it made much difference, if there was knowledge to be gained, then she would gladly play along. Approaching the counter Esperia looked up at the tall robed figure and inquired with a soft voice, almost as if she was worried about disturbing the quiet in this place of learning.

"Are you the librarian?"

The girl's voice caused the robed figure to look down at her as it started to speak "ishra silxoa shoea notixaro ashixera noshiturin?" Once more the mysterious sounds, akin to a language came from the figure, and yet after her silence, it spoke again. "Forgive me little one, I had forgotten your kin doesn't speak in the ancient tongue anymore."

Wait, ancient tongue? Was this illusion perhaps some sort of recording of the past? Did such magic even exist? Was it even possible? "What language are you talking about? I'm afraid I only speak Fiorian."

Esperia's inquiry earned a soft chuckle from the robed figure who started to explain himself further soon afterwards. "Our language is one whose name has long been forgotten even by our own people, but tell me child: What brings you to this seat of education?"

Esperia pressed both of her hands against the counter and leaned up, exclaiming excitedly. "Knowledge!" Indeed, that had been the reason why she had come here.

The word spoken by the girl earned a soft chuckle from the cloaked figure who raised a hand to his chin, seemingly pondering about what the girl might have been talking about. "The sea of knowledge is an infinite little one, is there any topic in particular that you are curious about?"

The question made Esperia lean back a little, a thoughtful frown on her visage. If there was one thing she was curious about right now, then it might had been: "What is this place?" The question earned a smile from the masked figure, whose face was exposed up to their nose and soon the librarian spoke.

"You are within the city of Crysarium little one, last city of the Maahinen." The Maahinen? She had never even heard that term before, nor did she ever read anything about them in the past. The explanation obviously made her inquire with another question to satisfy her curiosity. "Why is it the last city, and who are the Maahinen?"

The words made the librarian nod his head attentively, seemingly pleased at the girl's questions as he spoke. "The Maahinen are a group whose entire life was dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge, we sought to learn everything there was to learn, from the world to the very nature of magic."

So they were a civilization focused on knowledge and magic? "But unfortunately some of us became obsessed with power, and their greed for knowledge turned into greed for power and influence, leading to infighting that destroyed most of our civilization."

That could explain why this was the last city, did the survivors of that infighting seal themselves in here, to dedicate themselves to spend the rest of their lives in search for knowledge? So many questions! and every moment she spend asking them she learned something new...

Even as she spend her time asking questions, the librarian didn't seem to mind her inquisitive mind at all, if anything he seemed amused by it. "So, why did your people become hermits? Why did you seal yourself from the outside world?"

The librarian pondered the question for a moment. "There were many of us who wanted to live a peaceful existence, at our heart we were scholars and sages, our passion is in knowledge, not power, and when the conflict turned brother against brother we left. We wanted nothing to do with the way this world had become, the way our people had changed."

Esperia frowned for a moment, if they were such wise people, then why did they not guide those people onto the right path? What reason did they have to seclude themselves from the outside world? It seemed the question was one she couldn't hold back either: "Why did you not try to guide others with your knowledge?"

The librarian laughed softly at her words. "It is a question I asked myself at some point also, and yet in the end my answer likely would remain the same no matter how many years would pass: Because I couldn't.

Someone who possessed all this wisdom, yet did not have the means to use it? That sounded almost tragic in her opinion! "But why? If you got to become some wise, then why would you become unable to guide those that seek your wisdom? You could do so much! Accomplish so much with your wisdom!"

The librarian smiled kindly at her, shaking his head lightly while he explained in a sympathetic tone "It is exactly for that reason that we couldn't little one: Because with knowledge comes power, and great power can corrupt those that wield it."

Was that the reason why they had sealed themselves inside this place?

The librarian sighed as he saw Esperia's frustrated expression. "Please understand little one, we did not abandon the world out of cowardice, but concern." What was there not to consider this as anything but cowardice?! They had the means to help an entire world prosper, and instead of using their knowledge they instead chose to hide in this place, in the middle of nowhere.

"What do you mean with concern? Why would your wisdom end up bringing forth cause for concern?" Esperia's question earned a sympathetic smile from the librarian as he tried to explain himself further:

"Try to look at it from another perspective little one: When people seek knowledge, it is in because they want to accomplish something, right?"

There was truth in those words. Someone would learn to read, because they wanted to read books. Someone would want to learn swordsmanship, because they wanted to be able to fight, to protect themselves.

"Is it weird then, that I seek knowledge for the sake of knowledge?" The man laughed briefly at her question, a light shake of his head following. "Not at all little one, it makes you the same as the Authority of Knowledge."

The Authority of Knowledge? Was that some sort of title? A person? "What is that Authority of Knowledge?" Esperia's question made the Librarian gesture with a hand toward the window, making Esperia follow the motion as she saw a grand looking tower at the center of a spacious plaza, and soon the librarian continued his explanation. "He is the wisest among us, and the reason why we decided to live the rest of our existence here, sheltered and safe from influencing the outside world."

The words made Esperia ponder for a moment, so this 'Authority of Knowledge' was akin to a leader for those people? Was he the one responsible for this illusion?

Still, why did those people consider him a leader, or the 'wisest among them'? Pondering about it she voiced her thoughts out loud. "Who is this Authority of Knowledge, why do you respect them so much that you say he is the wisest among you?" The librarian chuckled softly, leaning slightly back against the wall behind him as he spoke. "Because he is little one. The Authority of Knowledge is much more than just a scholar or a leader."

So he was something even greater than a leader? "Do you consider them a god?" The librarian laughed at the question. "No little one, because not even a deity would likely be all-knowing." Esperia blinked in confusion, confusion turning into bewilderment. "Wait, what do you mean with all-knowing? Do you mean like the Authority has read every book there is to read?" The question earned a hearty chuckle from the Librarian who nodded his head in affirmation. "Something like that: The Authority of Knowledge had learned all there is to learn, they know all there is to know. Such is their wisdom, such is their power, they know everything there is to know within the world."

Wait... Was such a thing truly possible? Someone who knew EVERYTHING there was to know about the world? How could she possibly not want to meet that person?! "Where do I find this person?" Esperia's excited question made the Librarian nod into the direction of the tower. "He should be over there, meditating." Esperia nodded her head firmly in return to those words, turning her back toward the man as she spoke with a softer tone, a hint of gratitude in her voice.

"Thank you for taking the time to talk to me." The librarian smiled at her, a light shake of his head following. "You are welcome, little one."

Exiting the library Esperia could feel the same sensation as before, the mana that lingered in the air became more suffocating, to the point it started to become akin to a mist, a mist that consumed all within her vision. She couldn't even see the tower anymore, and yet now she had been told about the Authority of Knowledge, Esperia obviously longed to meet with him. There were so many questions she wanted to ask him, so many answers she sought that couldn't be found in books. After all, this was her opportunity to meet someone who had learned everything there was to learn about the world!

However, as she ventured through the mist Esperia only felt herself growing increasingly tired and lost, even with Morrigan's staff illuminating the area she could do little to find a path, in this misty landscape she wandered, neither sure of direction or distance when suddenly she heard a soft chime, like a chime of a bell, and a small wisp of fire burning in the distance, like a beacon. Was that the direction of the tower? Drawn by a sense of urgency Esperia forced her way onward, trudging through the most when at long last it started to clear and she stood in front of a large door, similar to the one of the library. Hopefully she had the right place...

A hand shoved the door open, and as she stepped inside she found herself in a small cylinder-shaped room, and at the back of the room, seated on a pillow was a small cloaked figure, their facial features hidden behind a mask, an ancient looking staff resting on their lap and they seemed unmoving, almost as if they were in the middle of a trance.

At least that was until she heard a soft feminine voice resound through the air. "I have been waiting for you... Esperia."

Esperia couldn't help but find herself wary and on guard, it was the first anyone in this place had referred to her by her name. Was this still part of the illusion, or was it something more, was this the source of what had been going on around here?

"How do you know my name?"

A question that in hindsight she should have known was silly, of course, someone who knew everything would also know her name! The masked figure lifted her head lightly and gestured lightly at the cushion at the other side of the room. "I know a lot more about you Esperia, but for now, how about you take a seat?"

Warily the young lady approached, placing her staff beside her while taking her seat on the cushion as the figure started speaking. "I have been watching Esperia, every step you took, every hardship you endured, every decision you made."

As the words were spoken by the figure Esperia felt something tugging in the back of her mind, and in disbelief she watched her memories materialize in front of her.

It all had begun in a small church in Fiore, the very place she was born in. Her family had always been devout followers of the Church, and held close ties with the Holy Knights, it was for that reason they were akin to exorcists. However, Esperia had never been trained in that art, no... she was kept safe, watched, protected, sheltered from the outside world for a very understandable reason. For generations her family had been the jailers of a Demon Lord, using an ancient magic to seal the demon inside one of their member's body, a ritual that was passed on from mother to daughter, for Esperia had once been the vessel for the Demon Lord of Lust... Asmodeus...

Although she had lived a peaceful life, that peace was brutally disturbed one day. You see, Esperia's elder sister was a very talented exorcist and had been recruited into the Holy Knights at a very young age, and unfortunately, her missions would sometimes lead to her making enemies. It was tragic, that it would be a misunderstanding that would wipe out almost the entire Eisenberg family.

It first began when the Holy Knights had attacked a pack of werewolves. They didn't really understand why, aside from the fact that common belief labeled them as monstrous creatures, and that the order came from above, meaning refusal would be met with severe punishment. However, it was during this attack that Esperia's sister discovered an ancient relic, one she took into custody and was told to safekeep at the church till one of her superiors of the church could come to take a look at it.

However, the truth was that it was a vile plot, an opportunity to make a family of exorcists who were protecting a vessel to a demon lord of lust, and a pack of vengeful werewolves wipe each other out.

It was way too late when anyone realized what happened, the church that night turned into a bloodbath, the relic was revealed to be a catalyst to remove the seal upon Asmodeus, and the demon lord of lust had manifested, using the child's body as a vessel.

In the aftermath, as a tribe of wood elves that dwelled in the forests near the church found Esperia the next day, crying amidst the corpses, she was taken in by them while nobody knew what would happen next...

As the memories faded from the brazier in front of them, Esperia felt a hand raised to her forehead, a painful headache disturbing her thoughts.

"Why are you showing me this..." Esperia grumbled softly.

The masked figure looked up at her, yet Esperia had to admit it was difficult for her to get a grasp on what was going on within the mind of that person. What purpose did they have for showing her those memories of so many years ago? "Do you hate the werewolves that attacked your family?" The question made Esperia's eyes briefly narrow, a glare of frustration in them. What purpose did bringing up the past have?

When Esperia remained silent the figure waved a hand again, this time showing a illusion over the fire of the brazier, this time it was Baska, the city where so much had happened for her. In the memory she watched how Liana got obsessed over Alisa, to the point she was starting to ignore everything else that was going on around her, including Esperia's presence and crush on the girl.

"Do you still feel jealousy toward the one who received the attention that you desire?" While it was true that there was a time where she felt jealous and angry at the event, it was what happened afterwards that had changed everything for her: that time Fia had appeared in her life.

"Then... How long will you continue to deny the fact that the one you loved so dearly will never return to your side?" Questions! Questions! For all the wisdom this person had in the world, they sure were asking a lot of questions! "Why ask me those questions when you are supposed to know everything there is to know?!"

Esperia's angry outburst made the figure look at her as Esperia had risen from her seat, her breathing slightly faster than before. "Because... That is all I have been doing: I been watching you, but I do not understand what goes on through your mind."

Wait, so this person knew everything, but yet didn't know about her thoughts or feelings? "Why do you not know the answers to those questions then?" The question seemed to be the one the masked figure had been waiting for, since she soon replied: "For watching has been all I did..."

So was that where their wisdom came from? They knew everything, but didn't know how the actual person felt? Even now there were too many questions about the power of this person, or entity in front of her. However, it seemed they genuinely wanted to discover the answers they sought, and it made Esperia realize she could possibly bargain to get what she wanted.

"Do you want me to answer your questions?" The masked figure nodded their head attentively in return to her question, upon which Esperia smiled devilishly at them. "In Fiore it is normal that you offer something in return for such a trade~" The figure paused for a moment, not entirely expecting what she had just said, but after a few moments of consideration she asked. "What do you want in return?" Now she had a angle to play at, and folding her hands on her lap she decided to play her cards: "I want to obtain your power: the power to know everything there is to know."

With fascination she gazed at the masked figure, eagerly waiting to see what they would respond with, and at long last they spoke. "I agree to those terms." It seemed her bargain had succeeded, and so she decided to uphold her side of the deal. "So where do I start... Your first question was whether I hate the werewolves that killed my family, right?"

The masked figure nodded her head lightly as Esperia shook her head. "Not in particular, there was a time I did hate them and longed for vengeance, but the time in Baska made me realize such a cycle would end up repeating itself and causing more suffering to be born from it."

The figure tilted its head to the side in confusion. "Is it because of the girl you call Fia?"

Esperia shook her head lightly in response to the question asked by the Authority of Knowledge and soon clarified further. "Not entirely, while it is true that she had a strong influence upon my life, the truth is that our lives are made up of all sorts of influences and experiences that shape us into the person we are."

Indeed, while some might say that power was almighty, was that truly the case? What was power without the knowledge to use it? What was wisdom without the experience to master it? It was because of that reasoning that Esperia believed there were three things of equal importance in her life: Power, Experience and Knowledge, one simply needed the other in order to be able to draw upon its full potential. It seemed the Authority of Knowledge was considering that statement carefully, and soon had another question to ask. "Why did you cease walking your previous path? Was there something about it that you didn't like?"

It was a question that made Esperia smile weakly as she replied quite quickly to the question: "That was not my path, it was a path that Asmodeus had prepared for me. I desired to walk my own path, make my own decisions rather than being influenced constantly by outside influences."

Yet in response to that question the Authority of Knowledge looked at Morrigan's staff, and already Esperia could feel as if they were wondering if she had not simply traded one whisperer for another. "You'll see in due time whether that is the case or not~" After all, Esperia sought knowledge, knowledge so that she could properly master Morrigan's power and make it her own, rather than having the spirit of the witch constantly beckon her to continue her pursuit for more power. But that was something for the future.

The Authority of Knowledge had gone silent nodding her head a few times. "That is an acceptable answer." Although Esperia wondered what questions that the Authority of Knowledge would ask of her next, it were not questions that came this time, but answers.

"The power I am about to bestow onto you is the knowledge of the world." Esperia raised a hand to her chin, a thoughtful look on her face. "The knowledge of the world?" The Authority nodded her head firmly in response to the statement as she explained further. "In order to be all-knowing one would need to know everything: a person's thoughts, feelings, the past, the future. But such is not the case for my power." Could it really be considered to know everything there was to know?

"In a way, this power grants you access to everything the world has seen and heard, its knowledge becoming like a fountain of knowledge at your disposal, all you would have to do is 'look' for it."

Esperia tilted her head to the side in bewilderment as she inquired with a hint of fascination in her tone. "I'm not entirely certain I follow, am I correct in assuming this is like a spell?" But the Authority of Knowledge shook its head lightly, a hand raised up toward her face. "Close your eyes Esperia."

It was a simple statement, one she felt little reason to decline, but nonetheless, slowly Esperia started to close her eyes, taking a deep breath as she waited for something to happen. For a moment she waited, not entirely certain to expect but then she felt something, she heard something. Like a beating heart, she felt something immensely warm and powerful, overwhelmingly powerful, and then she saw it: a figure illuminated in a glow so bright she couldn't see anything but their outline.

The moment she opened her eyes and saw that figure, she wasn't sure what to think, or even what to say or feel. In a way, it was something so beautiful that Esperia understood it from the depth of her core: Not even Morrigan's whispers seemed to be coming, actually, now she looked to her side, she could see the soul of the witch herself, calling out to her.

"Can you see it, Esperia? This is it! The depth of magic, the core of knowledge! The power that one day will be in my grasp."

Yet Esperia could only smile at those words, it was much more than that, that figure was: the manifestation of the world itself, and it was showing them its knowledge. While Morrigan saw intrigue for power, Esperia saw a fascination toward that knowledge, knowing just how infinite it could become.

Yet it was when Morrigan reached out with a hand that she felt the light engulf them, and Esperia found her visage consumed by it. A moment later and she stood in front of an ancient mural, writing engraved onto it, that by a mere glance seemed to had told her they were related to the people who once took shelter in this underground city. Morrigan was restless, yet Esperia could only smile, she had succeeded in what she had come here to do: She had started to reach into a place none had walked before. It was fascinating, to think that she had met the embodiment of the world itself, obtained its knowledge, a story that no doubt nobody would believe her if she tried to tell them about it.

Still, even with all this knowledge Esperia knew she still lacked two things: Power and Experience, but fortunately those were things that could be resolved over time.

Turning her back toward the slate Esperia came face to face with the spirit of Morrigan who inquired with a hint of interest. "So, now that you seen that, what is your next plan little witch~"

Esperia thought for a bit on the question. Although she now had knowledge at her disposal, her power was still lacking in truth, and her experience was not entirely something to be proud of either compared to some of her peers. She needed to gain more of both, and there was also the matter of wanting to figure out more about that figure she saw, that personification of the world itself. Was it truly the world, or was it Illumin himself? She didn't know, and that was what made it all the more exciting. Wandering along the ruins Esperia spoke softly.

"For now we need to gain my experience in combat, although I dislike to admit it, I am not exactly used to fighting real threats, haven't fought a proper one since the attack on Crocus all those years ago."

She had an idea on how to resolve that, her eyes having a glint of mischief in them. "Fortunately we are in the right place, you saw that floating island earlier right? Before we descended into the mountains? I believe we should find someone interesting there."

Morrigan tilted her head slightly to the side in confusion, not entirely certain what Esperia meant with those words. "Well~ I do like an entertaining surprise~" And with those words the two made their way out of the underground city, steadily making their way back to the surface. Although she was walking through the dimly lit tunnel, the suffocicating mist from before was gone, and so was the darkness, was it perhaps the result of her new sight? It would have been interesting if that was truly the case!

Reaching the end of the tunnel Esperia stopped in front of the steep platform, a soft whistle escaping her lips as she saw the white wyvern approaching from afar. It was fascinating, in a way for when Esperia saw it descend, her eyes gazed at the Wyvern and she felt something unusual, or rather she saw something unusual. Just a mere glimpse made her learn more, about how the Wyvern had actually been born from a nest here in the Sieghart Mountains before it got captured by Wyvern tamers, about how it initially was distrustful of her, but the constant showing of kindness had led to the wyvern to develop a bond of loyalty with her.

All those little details that continued to tell her more and more things she would have normally never been able to know without asking them directly. Was this the power the Authority of Knowledge spoke of earlier? The 'knowledge of the World' itself? If so, that was quite a mouthful for a power in her opinion... Perhaps she should have started thinking of a more suitable name for it.

Patting the wyvern's neck affectionately Esperia climbed onto the wyvern's back, a few beats of its wings following and soon Esperia was airborne once more, hovering in the air as the wyvern awaited instructions from her.

"The world's eyes~" Esperia mused softly as she thought of a fitting name, the wyvern let out a soft growl, as if to ask her on where to go. "Can you take us to the bottom of the mountains Ryuko? There should be a miner's town somewhere nearby." The Wyvern let out a cry of affirmation as it started to fly away toward their new destination. Why did Esperia decide to visit the town first, instead of going straight for the floating island? Well, there was quite an obvious reason behind that...

The World Tarot: Esperia Empty Thu Sep 03, 2020 1:56 pm

The reason was that: what power would be used without trying it out? A simple but logical reason for her to go to the town before planning any big meetings or encounters. Fortunately, the trip wasn't long, so Esperia didn't need to contain her excitement for much longer. Even Morrigan herself seemed curious about it.

Descending toward the town Esperia allowed the wyvern to land a modest distance away from the town and after she dismounted she patted the creature's neck lightly "How about you visit your nest? I'll call upon you when I need your help~" And with those words Esperia watched the white wyvern take flight and disappear into the mountains, leaving her to consider how to try out her new power.

As she started walking toward the miner's town the first thing she noticed as she approached the entrance was that her eyes didn't seem to be looking any different, at least the guards weren't giving her any worried looks as she glanced at them, but even that mere moment gave her all the time she needed.

She knew their names, the place they lived at, their favorite weapon to wield, even whether they had a relationship or not, and for some odd reason she felt like it was the knowledge that was being made a part of her being the moment she observed them, it was a fascinating power to her.

For a while she tried it repeatedly, looking around different places to see if she could find anything or anyone that would cause a different reaction, but it seemed that was not the case. So all she needed to do to learn everything about someone, was to have seen them? That seemed like quite a powerful ability to say the least! Perhaps that was why Morrigan was getting so fascinated by it...

Ryuko

Once dusk settled and Esperia left the miner's town, Morrigan called out to her, seemingly curious by her next course of action. "So where to now Esperia?" The white-haired mage raised a hand into the air, gesturing into the distance, in particular toward the floating island.

"There is someone of interest that makes that island their home~ quite a fascinating person Morrigan, I think you might like them." Esperia brought her fingers to her lips and whistled, the sound soon bringing the white wyvern back and Esperia smiled kindly at it. "Welcome back Ryuko~ Can you be a dear and take me up to that island floating in the sky over there?" The wyvern nodded its head lightly as Esperia climbed onto its back, allowing it to carry her up into the air as she started to make her way toward the island. If her knowledge obtained from the villagers was on point, then the person that owned that island was someone she was familiar with, although she doubted he would recognize her after all those years. Not that she blamed him, after all, she looked a lot different now compared to the time she spend at the Flower Festival in Orchidia.

"So how do you know that this person will be beneficial for our cause Esperia?" Morrigan's inquiry made Esperia's lips curve up into a devilish smile. She knew, there were too many reasons for that person to accept her help, in comparison to declining it. However, she couldn't help but find herself in a good mood, so with a bit of a dramatic flair she hummed softly. "I know... Because the world's knowledge is mine~"

And yet only time would tell what type of things Esperia would end up accomplishing with that power that she gained at those ancient ruins!
