Aegis

"Together, we will arise with the morning light."



They we're on the way to the mine in sieghart mountains, to which they had been called to help out with the locals. The wind pie in the Airship was brisk, clear, and clean. Aegis had a clear view over the side of the airship as he gazed out upon the mountains below them, upon the snow caps and the great many rivers that flowed from them. "We are almost there small one, go gather your things. We are close, and will be departing soon." he said to Rashida. She stopped her joyous bounding around the deck and briefly smiled and did a quick node, before running off below deck. The wooden floorboards barely creaked underneath her quick feet as she dashed around from her lightweight frame.

Aegis, who already had all the things he needed, continued to look over the side and take in the views and scenery. Suddenly, something changed. He instantly became more alert as he recognised the feeling, the dagger was used. As he scouted out ahead, out of the corner of his eye he saw what looks like a man laying down on me road outstretched. He raised his hand, and pointed down towards where the man was, as the Airship began to descend in that direction. The Airship did a slow descent, making sure the area around them was clear. As soon as they got low enough, Aegis jumped over the side of the airship, as blood could be seen on the individual's clothing. "Please Hel..." he started to say but immediately froze upon seeing Aegis' face. "Everything is alright," he said upon leaning down towards the man. "Please tell us what happened here." he finished with as Rashida's curious small head poked out find him. After some quick deliberation and thought to overcome fear, the man started speaking again.

"Please, just help them!" he yelled well pointing further up the road "A werewolf is attacked them! We weren't able to do anything to help or..." he tried to finish as he passed out in front of them.

Aegis lifted the man up and put them on the main deck of the airship. Theo slithered out from behind his back and after a quick nod from Aegis, begin to heal the man's wounds till they were closed. "Stay here and look after him. Please." as he motions for Rashida to come closer to him. She nodded silently in agreement. "I'll be right back small one."

When one assumes heavy armour, one would not assume very fast movements, let alone strong control, so one would be confused upon what they saw. After ordering the Airship to ascend to a safe height while he was gone, Aegis took off running towards the town.
The town was surprisingly, if not thankfully, relatively nearby. Soon after climbing the current uphill land formation, he could easily see it down in the valley below. As he got closer to the fringes of the city, he slowed down his pace considerably, especially upon seeing the damage that this creature had done already. The sides of the huts as well as buildings have been shredded, and many people were injured and or dead in the street. It was not hard to figure out the direction that the creature was in, as it was very clearly roaring into the sky.

Upon rounding the corner he saw it, the creature that had caused all this damage. Currently it was moving towards another individual laying on the ground trying to get away in fear. The man had fallen on the ground and was trying to backpedal as fast as he could using all four limbs. As soon as the thought came into Aegis' head to try and do this stealthily, the unease he had felt earlier panged into his mind hit again. The werewolf stopped, for an instant confused and befuddled.

Aegis immediately charged him with all of the strength and speed he could. The werewolf just had enough time to turn to face the noise and smell of the danger approaching him, before Aegis massively collided with the creature, sending him flying backwards. Immediately after coming to a stop, Aegis pulled out his knife and attacked once again. Quickly dodging a strike from the werewolf, Aegis ducked under the swinging right arm, delivering a slash across its chest and immediately followed up by a strike with his left hand. The blade definitely injured him, but the blow to the werewolf side was too much. He buckled to his side from the percussion of the strike and fell down unconscious, most likely with shattered rib cage bones.


Aegis quickly grab some spare rope entwine from the nearby broken buildings, and forcefully restrained the creature just in case he woke up, if at all. As Aegis raised his hand and made a pulling motion, in the distance you could see that the Airship started to move towards them. It took a little while for it to actually get over to them and start to land, and in that time quite a few villagers had started to congregate near Aegis, just in case there was more werewolves around. Upon Landing, the villagers were very surprised when he stood up and walked off the Airship himself. "Thank you so much!" he exclaimed "Who knows how many more would have died if you weren't around when you were.". Aegis felt a bit guilty, not knowing what would have happened. "I am glad I was in the region and was able to help. Does this happen often?"

"No, Gods no! We have no idea where it came from, it just started rampaging in the streets." he sighed, looking at all of the damage that would need to be repaired. "I see," he said in thought. "Well, i'm glad it's been dealt with and if you need any other assistance, feel free to let me know." he said to the man, waving and heading back towards the ship and the small human waiting for him.
