- Fast Travel:
Personal Name: Locust Paars. Age: 20. (Theoretically.) Gender: Male. Class: Trickster. Rank: D-rank. Guild: None. Tattoo: Back of the neck, where it connects to shoulder. The tips can be seen if wearing something that does not have a collar. Face: Hiroomi Nase - Beyond The Boundary Appearance Height: 164cm. Weight: 51kg. Hair: Black. Soft to touch, silky texture. Eyes: Emerald green, looks forest green at night and in shade. Bright lights and/or teary eyes will saturate the color. Overall: An overall small figure, Locust has no short of intimidating features on him. His skin is not pearly, but still quite light. Probably the first features of him like many are his eyes that dance with the light around his environment. While they retain forever their emerald color the color still shifts to many shades according to where he is. His skin feels soft to touch and his jawline is neither too sharp nor too soft. His clothes look clean and fresh from afar but a closer look reveals easily how they've been washed many times, sometimes even crudely. Despite this however, they are still in a decent condition, never smelling foul. Locust supports a sporty suit that does not limit his movement or flexibility. His dark gray jacket gives off a soft vibe while his green striped tie contrasts this with its vibrant color. His trousers are black but not too much to the point it looks off. He wears comfortable dress shoes. A red striped scarf seems to be a prominent feature in his choice of attire, however, it is not the only one he has. Extra: A tattoo different from his guild one, a small black tree figure on his lower back, towards the right side. Personality Personality: .:.Daily Life.:. Locust is a quiet person, but that isn't because he is shy or dislikes talking, simply because he doesn't feel the need to use them. When with someone, however, his mouth will not close, asking questions over questions about the people he is with. This curiosity of him makes him approach strangers easily, given that he desires to collect their "Heart" and of course, make new connections to learn about the society around him as much as possible. He is an understanding, open minded person that is less likely to judge people upon their first contact. He likes to allow his opinions to occur naturally over time, this is something he likes, but also something that happens by itself given that he is usually spaced out, thinking, planning. Locust likes to indulge in his likings and plannings. It is easy to see him buried in books and papers with to-do lists and other things of similar caliber. He keeps notes on people he meets in a green covered notebook, something he keeps close and treasures and constantly works to organize on. Being around nature makes him happy, but a slight anxiety arises as he realizes the things he has to do, nothing bad they are, of course, but that doesn't help the two strings of memories in his mind to tug in and make his heart beat a tad bit faster, his chest tighten a bit more. This isn't a reflex of course and wouldn't happen just because he walked through the forest or he saw a tree or something. He bears an overbearing sense of duty, which reflects his overall life by being meticulous and orderly. His eyes glimmer with wanderlust, a desire to meet people, to see their hearts and free them. .:.First Meeting.:. Locust remembers his experiences of interaction with people. He tries his best to give off a formal yet warm feeling to the individuals he meets in order to maximize the chances of a better outcome, maybe even to make a friend. He likes listening to stories of people as this gives him a better chance of knowing what kind of heart they will hold within. While there is a chance of paying for a drink or some food, his planning nature wants to keep jewel-spending in check and use other means to win the hearts of others. .:.Combat.:. Locust has a chance to take the time to get in the mindset for combat unless he knew about it, of course. His non-judgemental nature presses him to find out a better way to solve the situation which might delay his start. When he does, however, he is much more determined, his Virgo-esque nature making him the chain and list his spells in his mind already. Spells are cast in order to prepare a strategy with his companions and weapons are drawn. It is hard for him to lose focus, but can be hard for him to regain it. Likes:

Magic Magic Name: Paars’ Clockwork. Magic Element: Nature. Magic Description: This nature-based magic uses natural components to create intricate and simple clockwork mechanisms that work to manifest the desired effect. While some spells just use basic clockwork parts, some spells create whole mechanisms by themselves, turning and working to generate magic. The components are usually branches, roots, herbs, animal remains and amber, however, sometimes the spells use crystallized natural mana which looks like green colored glass. The flexibility of the magic allows the creation of offensive, supplementary, speed buffing and defensive spells. The clockwork nature of the spell allows for the combination of spells via the usage of basic component spells. These spells are not on-the-spot and take up a spell slot like normal. The advantage is that Locust isn’t casting a new spell, but using spells he already knows to a greater extent, allowing much more a relax approach to the castings. Let’s say Amber Sign ~ Orange Magic, a spell that creates an orb of amber that is able to store energy is mixed with Turn Sign ~ Ticking of Mana, a spell that generates energy (using Locust’s mana, of course,) to create Turning Point ~ Amber Pain, a clockwork mechanism that generates magic to gather in it’s amber core to shoot out offensive beams of magic. The spells are always connected to hearts of Paars’ himself and people he had met, which affects the way they manifest and their names. Almost all spells are named in a fashion of two names connected by a tilde, the first name shows the sign, origin or the deeper meaning of the spell while the second name names the spell/mechanism directly. While there is no strict limit, spells of the same class usually share their pre-names, such as supplementary spells being of the Nature Sign. To give example: Nature Sign ~ Nature’s Print Long Forgotten Clockwork ~ Overbright Nirvana Phantom of Phillinion ~ September Resurrection --and so on. If Locust was to collect the heart of a friend and connect with them on a deeper level, a spell that shows this is highly likely to manifest. This affects the name and the appearance of the spell. Let’s say he befriended Bob, in a mountain cave, who always liked to say “No better day than today!” So the names that the potential spell of this bond would be: Bob Sign ~ Hollow Echoes Bob Sign ~ Where The Cave Resides Yesterday was Bright ~ Today is Brighter Where Bob Resides ~ Luck-scented Present --and so on. The magic came to be when a watchmaker died by a Paars tree, where the Paars spirit mixed with the dying man to become Locust, mixing their magic and skills. History History:
Paars trees are extraordinarily rare trees that act like a border between the Secret Forest, the spiritual world of the nature yokai and the human world. During the old times, they were venerated, blessed, offered and prayed upon for well-being. The humans were much more connected to the spirits of nature, to paars’ spirits, to Kodama and their existence was of harmony. As time went on, however, the nature worship stopped and other beliefs took their place quicker than ever. Humans who had their “hearts” open for the spirits to fill it with happiness, which in turn gave the spirits will and ability to exist longer along with the Secret Forest itself. The worshippers of nature, trees, rivers, mountains and natural phenomena slowly diminished and the nature spirits were left to disappear, more secluded than ever, only with a handful of remaining worshippers. A watchmaker youth who was attacked mysteriously ran until he lost himself, he was allowed to enter the spirit world, to Secret Forest; underneath a Paars tree he laid and watched the night sky. Thousands of hearts were going to the physical world, each with their different color. He was one of the low numbered worshippers of nature, and watching the hearts realized how there were so many new babies being born, ones that would grow up to be many different individuals. He begged the Paars’ tree he was under to use him as a vessel to help the forest and as his eyes lost their living light, the Paars’ of the tree entered his body, mixed with the remaining and became a new existence, a new light, Locust. With no memory of neither the human nor the spiritual past, Locust knew only a few things: There is the world out there, and there is the world here, and they must meet for the latter to live. The beginning was the hardest part. The body sprawled out, hands shook as they reached to his face and a primal part inside broke out, screaming. The blank mind was nothing sort of a canvas, it was a heavy type of void, one that lasted only a few seconds, but enough to forever embed itself in his memories. Locust had woken up in Nanuq, the frozen forest there. His clothes were muddy and wet. The spirit inside the body didn't know how to get used to the human world at first. After all these years of spirit life, the paars was now a human, memories were wiped and the mission clear. Struggling to even walk, he managed to get close to the town enough to be found and helped. The first person he saw he grasped the clothes and cried loudly. This was a spirit tasting human nature for the first time, the pain of the wounds on the body. Nanuq was a town that was buried deep in mysticism and thankfully someone understood his true nature, Mika, the oldest woman in town that also looked the youngest. He was allowed to rest, he was taught, or more like helped remember, how to speak, cast his magic in the most basic of ways. Slowly his body healed and mind eased as he realized why he had done what he did. This would be the start of his new life, life attuned to nature, a quest to save the dying spirits and allow humans to blossom to their potentials. |
