Mishiko

Mishiko waited by the bar silently as she just got done drinking some morning tea during the night day. Her black mirror eyes wandered to see if her new member was arriving or not. She has heard something about this specimen and wondered if the things were true. The demigod will witness it for herself as they will be killing some werewolves today. Killing werewolves seems to always be the first date between her and her members, to get to know them and how they are in this kind of situations. Her white hair tickled down her take, her hand held onto her scythe tightly while humming a haunting tune. It was of course, Halloween so why not.

She breathed in the crisp fresh air that had a small residue of iron, or in other words, blood and moisty particles in the air. Once they were here, she will start going towards the woods as she wanted to get this done as soon as possible. There was more work to be done.

Dahlia had its downs but it certainly had its ups. In the city guarded by creatures of death and mayhem, Nine found something akin to safety. If anybody came looking for them they'd be looking for a long time because in Dahlia people were basically ghosts. It'd only been a few days since 9 joined Utopian Demise, benefitting off of the guilds generous hospitality and doing very little in the process. Nine was the new kid which meant that they were quite literally fresh blood. The other members of the guild thought they could pick on Nine but they'd soon learn that the Demi-human was far from a pushover.

The vampires and werewolves, Daemons and demons alike were no match for Nine on their own. With ease, Pluto beat the shit out of nearly forty of them. That was yesterday's news though. Maybe the Overlord heard about their strength because today the Overlord requested their presence. Maybe she wanted to kill them. Earthlanders were weird that way. Nine entered the bar with a hood over their head, scouring the building for their overlord until finally, they saw her siitting. They slowly approached her from behind. Nine only caught a glimpse of her once. Apparently most people both loved and feared her. Some hated her and feared her. 9 didn't know her.

She listened to the people's chatter, not caring much about it, but it beats the white noise. The woman was about to get a drink till she felt the vibrations of movement coming towards her in a walking motion. Was that perhaps her guild member. "Nine, I presume?", she ghostly spoke in her erotic tone. Her eyes cornered as her scythe's eyes glowed. "Quite cute," Nu spoke, "Wonder if they taste exquisite," she wondered. Slowly, Mishiko still up and turned to have her mirror black eyes gaze at the person.

She studied the person and then looked at the door behind them. "Let's get started," she continued and walked away from the people and outside towards the forest. The tentacles of her scythe were wiggling as her mask on the side of her head stayed in place with each movement. As she was leaving, people turned to watch her go. She knew that the way she looked was different than any Earth landers, but truthfully, she wasn't even one. She was just here on duty and to finish her end goals. After that? Maybe she will move back to the underworld or in the heavens with her sister. As they continued on, each time they went in further, the place got a little darker. "Any questions?", she wondered as they might as well know.

There wasn't much to this little pub. It was quiet, small, shack-like and smelled like pure death. Towards the far left there lie a fireplace. Nine's eyes darted to and fro as they discerned their surroundings, mostly picking up on how comfortable their leader was here. She seemed to be a calm woman for the most part. 9 didn't know what they expected her to be like. Part of them expected someone known as the Matriarch of the underworld to be a bit more jarring up close. Either way they were content with who she portrayed herself as. Pluto nodded after she spoke but before they could respond, the hefty scythe they'd been carrying remarked first. A talking weapon? they pondered.

Earthland was still largely a mystery to 9 but they had read enough to know that magic ran through nearly everything in this world. Once upon a time only a portion of Earthland's natives could harness the mystical energies that be. Taste? with a cold and almost brooding set facial expression, Nine raised an eyebrow. "Yes, master. I am Nine." they stated coldly. One of the things they learned during their time on Nirvana was that people down here acknowledged honorifics. As their guild master, Mishiko was their lord. One thing 9's grey eyes were able to notice was how serious and down to business Mishiko was. They appreciated that type of quality in someone.

With a nod, the Demi-human followed the woman out of the bar and the two of them made their way to the forests. Pluto couldn't help but feel the almost deathly energy radiating from her. Still, their eyes remained forward, even after she asked them if they'd had any questions. "What are we doing?" there was much they wanted to learn about Fiore and more specifically Utopian Demise, for now however, it was in 9's best interest to figure out just what they were doing here. "And why am I here?" Although Nine was extremely curious their tone didn't reflect it.

Mishiko sighed softly and silently till she heard the person with her ask her where they were going and why. She excused the master part as she had no need for formal greetings and name sakes. She stopped walking and twisted her body to look at them. "You are here because I wish to see your capabilities and we are hunting werewolves and destroying their whole clan due to terrorizing of merchant goods that are feeding the poor," she explained calmly with no hint of emotion. She turned back to continue to walk forward. Her mask was helping her feel the ground vibrations as she suddenly felt many footprints. "It seems they know we're here for them," she spoke coldly and readied her scythe.

She took a deep breather as she had to use both hands to bring back her scythe, feeling something come forward to her. As they jumped down at her, she leaned back and swung her scythe upward to split the werewolf in half. Their blood showering her body. The other werewolf jumped at Nine.

Nine hadn't noticed that their guild master stopped walking until he was a few feet ahead of her. Raising an eyebrow they stopped in their tracks and turned towards her to listen. Apparently she wanted to see Nine's abilities but what was more surprising was what they were actually doing here. Protecting the citizens from werewolves? Wasn't Utopian Demise the place Werewolves wanted to be? Most of the citizens were appeared to be human. Just what was she doing protecting them? Truthfully, Nine could care less about their well being. To them, the majority of the population was the very reason why this world was nearing its end. It wasn't like Nine particularly hated them or disliked them but they were more of a distraction than anything.

When Nine was done, the world would be an entirely different place. It was the reason Nirvana trained them. Nine was here to reshape the world. The scythe wielding mistress seemed to be on a journey to preserve the common-folk? For a moment 9 simply stood quietly. Her words rang in the back of their head. She probably didn't think much of what she said, Nine on the other hand always thought deeply into things. "I see..." was their only response. They squinted as they watched her. Things weren't so black and white after all it seemed. Just as the towering alien was about to speak, the Overlord spoke up once more. The wolves were here, she said. It was almost as if she could sense them.

9 stilled their body to gather the noise from their surroundings and suddenly they could hear movement closing up on the two of them. Nine shifted their body to see two jet black wolves sprinting towards them. Boy were they fast on their feet. However, Mishiko and 9 were clearly enough to take them down rather quickly. One wolf made its way towards 9. The Demi-human raised their arm as the wolf lunged, catching its neck in their hand and squeezing tight. Nine curiously cocked their head to the side as the beast struggled. It was unable to move and in a moments notice it would die. With their other hand 9 punched a hole in its chest, grasping its heart and tearing it out. The wolf whimpered in agony as its life-force faded.

Nine looked at the heart. They had never killed anyone before, let alone see a heart outside of its chest. The Demi human brought it to their nose and sniffed once before dropping both the heart and the dead wolf. "Are you okay, my lord?" they asked with a frown upon their face.

Nine seemed to do just fine and so she turned away after standing up straight. The blood of the werewolf was all over her and truthfully, she did not mind. "Wasn't that exciting sadly. I thought they'd put more of a fight..." she spoke as if speaking to herself. Her head turned to look at them and then the werewolf's head, back to them. "They seemed too easy for you as well..." she shifted her gaze towards the direction the werewolves were. "I want you to know the true reason we are helping is, so we earn enough money for our true goal in the end. We need to be prepared for it," she insisted as even her money wasn't enough to cover the costs of a ship, food and other resources.

They continued down into the dark depths of the forest. Waiting to feel more vibrations that weren't hers nor Nine's. If they had more questions, then she will not mind answering them. If it was silent, she'd soon feel the presence of the enemies and point towards the cave, "Seems we have a pack here," she starts speaking as she positioned her scythe.

Mishiko was right. It wasn't as exciting as 9 would have thought. Killing the wolves had been far too easy for them. Still, the act of murdering something felt strangely...liberating? The Demi-human couldn't put it into words even if they tried but they knew they felt something. Their gaze shifted towards the lifeless werewolf bodies on the floor and the heart just mere feet away from it. The heart had still been pumping. Soon it would cease to function since there were no veins or arteries that it could take blood from. "Yeah..." nine murmured, bringing their hand to their nose for one more whiff. Blood smelled like metal, like Iron in particular. And unlike Nine's own blood, this blood was red.

The Overlord went into a bit more detail as to why they were here. It wasn't just about saving the common folk, it was about money. Preserving money for the sake of the guild or even just herself. It all made more sense. These werewolves were coming between profit and messing shit up so handling them this way had been their only option. 9 nodded. "I see..." so what the Guardians or Nirvana taught them were true. Everything down here required a lump sum of money. Capitalism is what it was called. The poor didn't have enough money to sustain themselves and the rich might have had too much money. The only way to thrive here was to assimilate.

The duo continued walking through the darkened forest. As gloomy and as daunting as it was, the alien only felt an odd sense of comfort. They loved space in every sense of the word. Here in this forest they felt free, unshackled, and untamed. They reckoned that werewolves felt the same way, it's why they were out here. Just before the guild master spoke, Nine pondered on what it must have been like to be a werewolf. Nowhere truly accepted you because your urges overrode everything. For a werewolf it was only a matter of time before you killed someone or someone killed you. Mishiko didn't seem to feel much sympathy for them though. She was focused and clearly knew that her work was bigger than just werewolves.

Eventually, in the distance, a cave seemingly reveals itself. Once again the guild mistress had been able to sense the werewolves and sure enough they were in the cave. "How can you tell?" they asked. If it wasn't clear by now, Nine was extremely curious about most things. They were a stranger to Earthland after all. Yet, they were able to adapt rather quickly. As they approached the cave they began to silence their steps as much as they called. Wolves had enhanced hearing so it was best to be careful. They were nearing the cave and before they entered 9 noticed how black it had been inside. No infared vision, no sensory techniques, all the towering stranger had was their fists and other inherent abilities. It was no biggie though.

She pointed to the mask that was lopping off the side of her head that was a joyan demon mask. "This lets me feel vibrations within a radius of a certain distance and can feel where they are, how many, but just not what," she explained calmly as they went ahead. When they got close enough to truly see, she put a hand up. "If you can't see in the dark. I will go inside and slaughter them. Those that run out, you may take care of them however you like. Better to kill them now than have people alive for revenge in the future," she explained as her gaze slid downward to look at the ground. Her hands gripped her scythe and sighed.

It was time to do the dirty work. It wasn't that she hated werewolves or any dark race, but she will hunt anyone and thing in her way of her goals. As quick as she could. She looked forward and ran into the cave after fully pulling down her mask. The last thing Nine could see was her eyes were glowing a misty red that left the track of red behind her. She licked her lips as she felt the vibrations on the ground with her feet. One coming to the right, four were leaving. The steps were lighter than the one coming for her. She assumed they were the children and mother of the pack. The alpha was with her. The Alpha always stayed in the back. What they didn't know was she had someone out there waiting for them.

Nine turned to look at their superior as she pointed to the mask sitting idly on the side of her face. It was demonic in appearance. Now that they actually gazed upon it, it was quite frightening. Magical items were different in a lot of ways than technology. The way they worked were especially different. Magical energy was a phenomenon that really couldn't be explained, it just...existed. 9 nodded once their guild master revealed to them how she was able to sense enemies. It was a very valuable skill to have. Now that they were at the cave, Nine would have to play a different role in this whole ordeal. Unlike their guild master, they were unable to sense things or even see in the dark at all. It was a skill that they would have to pick up at some point, but for now they would let Mishiko handle things.

"Alright." Nine replied with a single nod. Mishiko was strong enough to handle things on her own, but Nine of course wanted to be inside just to be sure. This was their first time meeting the woman but they had taken an interest in her. She was the first person that the Demi-human worked alongside and she was the glue that kept the guild they had recently joined together. What sort of companion or underling would they be if they allowed her to die. Besides, they were only just beginning to learn how she operated. There was more that they wanted to see. For her to be the chosen leader of various dark creatures, she must have been pretty phenomenal. Nine's instructions were clear; handle the fleeing werewolves anyway that they liked. That was enough for them to still feel of use.

The Scythe wielding woman began to embark on her journey inside the cave. Nine stood outside of it, their eyes dancing around the forest and taking in everything that they saw. Would you believe that this was the first time they had ever been in a forest? Nine heard something in the distance coming from the caves and quickly turned back to face the holed rock. Two wolves sprinted out of the cave, growling and howling. They knew Mishiko was inside. It would have made more sense to stay and help whatever other wolf was inside to fight the Joyan master. Alas, if they were fleeing from the battle then they had to know that they wouldn't beat her. Unfortunately for them there was no safety in sight. Only Nine. The towering Alien stood at the cave with a nonchalant expression as the wolves wolves ran out.

The two wolves immediately cam to a halt upon witnessing Nine standing there. They knew that tonight would be the night that they met whoever they believed their maker to be. However, Mishiko had been known throughout the city so it made sense for them to be wary and cautious. They didn't know who Nine is, so they probably thought that they could take them on. Both wolves darted forward, ready to tear into the black haired stranger. Unfazed, 9 also ran towards them but at the very last moment before the wolves could even touch them, they leapt into the air and flipped over the wolves. Swiftly, they darted forward now that they were behind them, moving specifically towards one wolf before slamming their head into the ground. The wolf squealed as his face essentially broke and his brains splattered. The other wolf growled, deciding to wait to pounce.

It was just her and the Alpha as she could feel their movements. She clenched onto the weapon as she went forward towards them. There was no stopping them now as there was a short coming battle that was to behold. Her mirror eyes wandered through the darkness as she used the vibrations to feel their movements. "You will regret coming here," she heard them huff in a dark deep voice that had more gruff than anything. "No, you will regret messing with other people's things when they've done nothing," she replied as he ran at her. She swung her scythe to deflect his claws as the claws clinked against the blade.

She glared as she wished she had the strength that she use to have all those times ago, but for now she was weaker. It was alright since she then backed away and then let them do another jump forward as they continued to clash another hit with each other. Sadly, this fight could not be as epic and fun as she wanted it to be because she didn't have her spells either. With a few final swoops with her scythe she finally cut the alpha down. She brought the head out with her as the other hand was occupied with her weapon. "We're done here," she replied. The rest was them handing everything in and leaving.

The other werewolf found himself fighting someone way out of his league. Even though Nine didn't grasp their abilities well, their physical prowess was more than enough. Their strength had yet to come back in total, but they were beyond capable of handling themselves. The last lonesome wolf growled shortly before testing the bounds of their vigilance by pouncing onto 9. Their attempt to overpower the stranger proved to be futile. Nine did this doggy the way they had done the other, catching him in mid-air by the neck. This time, however, they watched the werewolf suffer and squirm. Their fingers tightened around the beast's neck as he slowly faded from existence. After a few seconds, the werewolf stopped putting up a fight and went limp. Watching something die in real time was strange. Yet, nine couldn't say they didn't get a kick out of it.

Did that make them insane? Perhaps. There was no time to ponder why the Demi-human enjoyed such a phenomenon. Two more wolves cried as they emerged from within the cave. Like the last two, these puppies had no idea someone was waiting outside for them. Like a warden, Nine protected the rest of the forest from the creatures. There would be no feasting for the werewolves. Not now, and never again. Nine wasted no time in attacking. The task at hand could have been more enjoyable for them. Sure, they learned a lot from the short time they were out here, but this all grew old and stale quicker than they realized. The Demi-Human immediately darted toward the two fleeing werewolves. They were smaller than the beasts Nine had just murdered, which could have meant they were younger too. At this moment, the Utopian Demise guild member realized they didn't want to do this.

Nine had always been intrigued by creatures and animals most people would have considered monsters. Still, they were as obedient as ever. When 9's superior wanted something done, they did it correctly unless it contradicted their morals or beliefs. Nine had no problem with killing. Once they reached the creatures, they leaped into the air and stretched their arms out, landing atop the wolves with their palms slamming into their spines. The rest was a given. Nine killed them like they had done the others before them. The werewolves no longer fell out of the caves, so the stranger assumed Mishiko did the job. With their arms folded over their chest, they waited for their guild master, and sure enough, she trailed out of the cave. There wasn't a single scratch on her.

Nine said nothing. Instead, Nine watched her. She was strong, that much they could see. Just how strong she was, though, remained a mystery. Once she exited the great cave, she coldly informed her subordinate that they had completed the task. Both Nine and Mishiko sported their enemy's blood. With a nod, Nine turned and walked beside their guild master as they left the forest. Nine kept their eyes peeled if more wolves were out here just waiting to test their luck.
