PouchKazimir sat on the cushioned examination table. His feet dangled just low enough to graze the step stool in front. The walls were covered with images of the human body and shelves of medicine beside equipment. The room was small and inviting, with egg white walls and a curtained window.
It was still strange to think why he was here, but following leads will take a person to strange places. He just hoped it wouldn’t be a big deal when the doctor arrived. A nurse came in first and took his height and weight. She moved hesitantly around the wind mage, careful not to touch him. He could see it in her eyes. Hear it in the fast blood pumping through her veins. She was close enough to know what he was.
She forced a farewell through a parched throat. Minutes later the doctor arrived. A renowned man in the area. He leaned in to hear Kaz's heart but was met with silence. The doctor fell backward against the wall. “It’s true.”
“Yes. But if you could keep it down that would be great. I’m not going to eat anyone,” Kaz laughed and stayed still until the doctor was calm. They finished the exam quickly with not much the doctor could do. He then asked Kaz to deliver a couple of white bags.
Kaz chuckled and took the prescriptions. “No problem.” The wind mage flew out of the window and around town, dropping the supplies off without difficulty, and returned in a flash. The doctor thanked him and paid him. Kaz took the jewels and left with a nod.
